In February 2023, we vacation in Puerto Plata and were hard pushed to attend a sales meeting - offered upgraded dining options - and told we their vacation club offered many state side 'houses' in places such as Florida and California that were available for our use for just $250 per week. The sales pitch was strong, they handed out champagne, gave us a tour of the resort and free food.
Of course, the best use of the club would be to go back to the resort, however it was dirty, they asked you not to flush toilet paper, the staff was rude, and we have no desire to return.
There are no houses available in Florida for a week, let alone for $250. When we call, we are told to use a different website, or we waited too long to book.
They then quoted us on an all-inclusive in Cancun for the exact same rate we would get booking on the resort's website directly.
One representative has even told me I need to pay an annual fee, which we were most assuredly told we would never need to do.
We want our money back! This was a scam.
Thank you.
