Refund of 100% of the money paid.
In February 2023, we vacation in Puerto Plata and were hard pushed to attend a sales meeting - offered upgraded dining options - and told we their vacation club offered many state side 'houses' in places such as Florida and California that were available for our use for just $250 per week. The sales pitch was strong, they handed out champagne, gave us a...

We were sold a vacation club -time share for $3000 at the Lifestyle Holidays Vacation Club . We were told we cannot use the service until after we left the Dominican Republic. This was there way of ripping us off. It turns out the club is phony . I can book all places for less money than they offer on their web sites. So I called and was given the run around . People could not speak English or Spanish and played games . They passed me from one liar to another. they made more promises which they did not keep . I only request a refund of the $3000 as their product and service is fraudulent. they refused telling me they hate Americans
Claimed loss: 3000

The contract
Hello,
We were deceived into buying into the vacation package. They fed us strong drinks. Our orientation lady flat out lied to us just to sign the contract. She told us we’ll only have to pay $250 USD per week of vacation and that will include all-inclusive. She said that nowadays people have to pay $130 USD per day to get all-inclusive, but she’ll waive it to us and push our contract till before covid. Their tactics are horrid. I’m trying to cancel the contract and I’m told I can’t because it’s been more than 4 days after we signed it. Nobody told us we only had 4 days to cancel. Please, help. I want out of this mess.
Claimed loss: $3000 CAD
Desired outcome: Canceled contract and refund

Lifestyle holiday club puerto plata
We have been scammed out of $70k. We were told all kinds of false promises. most importantly that Life styles would buy our BlueGreen timeshare and pay it off in full. This DID NOT happen. We were given a bunch of "free" trips again not the case. We were told we would become members of RCI not true either. We would like our money back or at very least a refund of some kind. We know they will not accommodate us with any future reservations.
Claimed loss: March 2023
Desired outcome: refunded
Hi can you please contact me @ argentinaliranzo@gmail.com I also signed pod 55k this a scam
Room.
Room was book at the Residential Suites in Puerta Plata. F12. Aftet a long traveling day We realized that evening after settling in that there were no face towels or hot water. Face towels were soon brought. Hot water wasn't fixes nor could we get temporarily moved to another room. Hot water was out in the whole building and other rooms had flooding problems. Staff seemed incapable of handling the situation.
Desired outcome: Moved to a room with hot water for the night. After repairs made moved back to original room
I was there the week before you. No hot water in the shower or face towels. When we asked for the face towel they immediately sent them to us. In regards to the hot water, lol. I figured out that if I turned on the hot water in the sink while taking a shower, the hot water came on. Ridiculous, yes. What I really did not like was the high-pressure sales to purchase a membership. They do give you food and a lot of liquor. However, I kept letting him know that only a fool would make a big purchase while on vacation. We looked at the beautiful homes then said thank you and left.
Vacation club membership
We were scammed into signing a contract and were pushed into signing everywhere without us given time to read fine prints. Salesman Fedi told us we would only pay a fee one time to rent a vacation for 7 days than on the 5th we were called in and were told that we still have to pay for the room.
This is a scam and I am going to sue this company.
DO NOT FALL INTO THIS SCAM.
Too late for me I paid 55k cannot get a refund maybe you can help me please

Lifestyles Holiday Vacation Club
We purchased in 2008 on our honeymoon. Same drinks and con tactics you'll see in any of these complaints here. Added bonus to them that we were young and dumb. We had our honeymoon paid for, but ended up paying for it anyway with this membership. Over the years we paid up our several thousand dollar contract and have never to date actually traveled back or used our membership with them. A couple of years back they started contacting us telling us that we still owe them money. I'm not sure how this could be when we paid up our contract and have never once contacted them to utilize any weeks. Fast forward to a couple of months ago there now threatening to cancel our contract if we don't give them an additional $500 (about). I've made it quite clear to them that I'm not giving them another dime. This has fraud/ scam written all over it.
Desired outcome: A refund would be nice but at bare minimum just stop contacting us to scam more money we don't owe.
Unsanitary and maintenance issues in bathroom
Pools were not sanitary (bugs/hair), grounds not kept clean, and had issues with toilet and sink for the entire week there. When confronted the front desk about the bathroom issues they were not helpful, minimized or never documented the number of times we reported issues, continued to transfer the problem to other staff for over an a hour, refused to produce a manager to resolve the problem, and even tried to blame us for breaking glassware to divert the attention. Totally unexceptable!
Desired outcome: Compensation for inconvenience
Resort Stay in Puerto Plata
We had a horrendous experience on June 28, 2023. We are VIP members and booked a premium room. We were put in a dilapidated room . When we were moved, we were put in a room with mold. We had to leave early as they had no where else to put us but they charged us two full nights for five guests (we only had dinner and breakfast and no alcohol delivered to us. We experienced the armed guards who would not let us leave until the resort was paid.
Desired outcome: Full refund. Shut down the business.
Misleading & untruthful
My sister & I purchase a membership back in Nov 2022. First of all, I want to say, I told the saleswoman (Marley) that I would be stretching it buying this "Membership". She assured me that it's a great investment and that she would help me rent it out. She even offered to help me rent out the free week they give when you purchase. She took us over to a very large TV screen to look at all the rentals on the various sites. VRBO, Airbnb, etc. As we sat down to talk aobut the contract, they send over the accounting guy. I can't remember his name. We start with the haggling. They first start us off with the Villas. They are anywhere form $30-$80K. Well of course I can't afford that. So I tell them. A look of disappoinement comees across both of their faces. So they keep going with the different types of memberships below the villas. They tell us the 2 bedroom ones are a certain price. $20K. I keep mentioning that I need to rent this out ASAP. As I really can't afford it with out any income coming in. And again Marley says NO PROBLEM. I'm going to help you do that. I asked how the rental works. They say, any hotel on their list is a rental of $799. And that they work with RCI to get hotels not on the list and in the RCI network. That supposedly covers 8 days/7nights. And doesn't include the "ALL INCLUSIVE". So that's another charge that the guests have to pay. With this membership they assured me that the guests would get a gold bracelet. However in the fine print the bracelets are blue in the contract. I didn't realize until I was home that it might not be the gold. I was also not aware tha the price of the 'All Inclusive" could go up in price. When we were done with the contract, they send you to another team. These are the after you sign people that keep convincing you that you made a GREAT purchase and it will change my life. After I realized this is NOT easy to rent out like I was repeatly told, I called to get help again. All they did was show me a site to get the info sheets on the properties. I asked if I could get out of the contract. They said the only way I could is to pay if off and get my own seller. This is one of the questions I asked at the contract signing. I asked if I want to sell if they could help me. And of course the answer was yes. But when I got home and emailed them after a few months of trying to work on it and rent it out, all of a sudden they tell me they don't help. I have to do it on my own. Try and get my own buyer. Wel it definitrely did change my life as I am NOT able to rent it out, definitely not making any money on it but still have to pay. I put about half down & still owe over $9K. After I got one inquiry on the unit list on VRBO, I called to ask about the cancellation policy, they said if the customer cancels I DON"T get my money back. It goes into a holding aaccount until I get a new renter. So I have to upfront pay the $799 to LHVC and if the customer cancels I DON'T get my money back. What the hell is that? So all in all this is the worst mistake of my LIFE and I would like my money back and to get out of this contract. I seriously tried my best to rent it out with NO one taking a chance on it. And I cannot in good consience sell this CRAP to anyone. I have not used any portion of this membership and would appreciate the help to get out.
Desired outcome: Money back & Cancel the membership.
Something needs to be done. I hope the complaints board can help people like Me. I am realizing I trust to easily. And I have a heart and feel bad. The girl Marley was like 12 months pregnant I mean she was huge. I even gave her extra money because I felt bad. She was telling me her life (who knows if it true) but I felt really bad. After that I never heard or saw her. Pretty sad how they can scam people with a straight face.
It’s a scam
Lifestyle holiday club superimposed my initials to a contact. Stating I owe them additonal money
I recently received a collection request on a time share from Aspen National Collection. The collection is for a time share owe by a friend of mine named Emma Gibson. We both purchase time share in Dominican Republic in 2015 under Lifestyle Holiday Vacation Club. However, we never purchase our time share as a group nor did we co-sign for each other. I paid my timeshare by credit card. Emma signed up for the payment plan. Emma placed her sons on her contract as her beneficiaries. I add my son to mine.
Emma Gibson, passed away during September 2020 pandemic.
I received a calls from LHVC 1/2021, staff member. stating payments were not being received on her account. I informed them she had passed away. After that.I started receiving calls requesting payment on her account. I informed the callers that I did not sign any documents to be a co-signer on Emma's with LHVC account, that I was not responsible for her account. I informed them that they would have to notify her family, that was listed in her paperwork when she purchases the time share in 2015.
Emma, had been paying her time share up until her passing in 2020, through her bank account, as an automatic withdraw. at the time of her passing her account balance was around 7,000.00 in arrear, Lifestyle is now telling me, her balance is my responsibility.
I formed LHVC representee, that I will not be responsible for the difference in her account. My friend is deceased, and she is not able to use the timeshare. Her estate will need to handle this matter. they have her signed contact and information to request payment for the difference from her family, not me. Please assist me in this matter.
In August 2019, I returned to Dominican Republic and I did an upgraded to my timeshare. I again paid by credit card. Currently I'm not been able to use the time share or the upgrades, because of this dispute. I'm requesting a refund of 7,000.00 in lost use of the property that I paid for in 2019.
What make this worst, they superimposed my initials on a document, attempting to show that I'm currently responsible for her account. Also, the LHVC balance details, clearly shows Emma's name and her LHVC account number 23828-2 showing pass payments that were taken from her bank account and when they were no longer able to withdraw from her account.
I am now retired, and I'm not able to pay for this fraudulent account they are attempting to charge to me.
I have sent, this information to the Better Business Burial, April 4/5/2023. BBB sent me a reply, stating LHVC refuse to address my concerns.
Thank you for your time.
Desired outcome: I would like my 7,000.00 dollars back. I have never been able to use the property since this dispute and the debt cancel.
Full refund please
We were misled about purchasing a penthouse for 23,000. We still owe 3,000 for a WinWin vacation club. We were misled by giving us strong drinks and showing us pictures of reality’s all around the world and told we can use our penthouse package for 250. A week anywhere in the world….all to find out that’s a lie. We can only go to Puerto Plata resort for that price. We want to be refunded or sell this back. We are not interested in returning to this resort, the beach is nasty and it’s built on a hill. Please advise how we can sell it back or get a refund.
Desired outcome: Refund
Unable to schedule a reservation
My husband and I purchase a membership to the vacation club last year on September 2022. We truly enjoyed our time at the resort and were impressed with the customer service. However, it is time for us to schedule our next trip and for the past two weeks(ending April 2023, beginning May 2023) I have been trying to contact the members club to schedule my reservation because we have a certificate for one free week. My efforts in contacting someone have been completely in vain. I have tried calling at least 3x per day and my calls end of being dropped. It is completely appalling that we cannot receive basic customer service. I demand this company to improve their customer service for their members.
Desired outcome: I demand for someone to contact me immediately and provide me with the services I am entitled to based on the money we have invested.
Memebership
We purchased a membership on our vacation. There was no internet to really be able to look into the company. They sold it hard to my husband and I that we would be able to make a business out of selling the rooms and there are so many people doing this. It was all a lie because they sell packages way below we could ever sell ours for. We were told that there is a resale option after we purchase. I listed these resorts to airbnb vrbo and tried everything they recommended to be able to make my money back but every time I had a customer they had no availability for some reason. I called back many times and told they that I want to do the resale option and return it and they said they don't have that department anymore it is closed.
This dept really hurt me and my family financially. If someone can help get our money back even most of it back I would really appreciate it. I have ran out of options
Desired outcome: I would like my money back!
Shading business practice
An idea of a timeshare always intrigued me. So I bought into it because I had done enough research so I thought and I spoke to them about varied properties they stated they had at time of contract. Sadly this was a lie. They only had 2 properties in Dominican Republic. Cabarete which is TERRIBLE and not maintained at all, and Puerto Plata, which honestly isn’t worth it. All inclusive are dumb anyway, I simply wanted the membership for the villas. This was the dumbest thing I ever bought into and immediately regretted. I tried cancelling on day 2 as I was told I had 3 days to cancel, and they told me I had to submit it in writing and pay $3,000 cancellation even though I was told it was free! This was all a lie apparently and now I’m stuck with this crap that no one in their right mind would pay for knowing ALL the facts. I SHOULD HAVE FOLLOWED MY Intuition. Please follow yours.
Desired outcome: To get out of my contract as i was lied into it.
Deceptive and unethical business practices
My complaint is way overdue, but better late than never.
I had an awful experience with this company. It soured my vacation in the Dominican Republic and killed a desire to ever visit that country again.
My daughter and I stayed at the Lifestyle Holidays Vacation Club in Puerta Plata in June of 2017. My daughter was 13 years old at that time.
On the second day after our arrival to the resort, we were summoned to the main office building, no explanation why. After we were picked up by the staff and taken to the office via a golf cart, we were subjected to a non stop attempts to get me to commit to purchasing a membership with LHVC. Initially, I refused. But the “charming” sales person Alberto was very persistent, saying if I agree to buy a membership I would really help his family. My daughter and I were taken all over the property, while being told how good it would be for my daughter to have a place to go on vacation when she’s older, how I can even rent it out by posting it online (?) The were so many promises and quite a bit of coercion involved. I was getting tiered of it, so I agreed to purchase $10,500 membership, with $7000 paid upfront and $3500 financed over 10 years. I just wanted to get them off my back, and later cancel the membership.
I felt terrible after giving them almost all the money I had from my daughter’s college fund. I didn’t want to deal with them until later, thinking I could cancel within a week. Little did I know, the was no mention of their cancellation policy in the contract I had signed. Later I found out from the forums that the cancellation window was 4 days, but no one was able to cancel it even within the window. I had an enormous sense of guilt and anger. I contacted LHVC to see if I could cancel, they never responded to my question. However, when my card had expired and they requested my new card number, I refused to give it to them. They tried to contact me by phone, I blocked them. Then they started series of harassing emails and every time I refused, calling them thieves and demanded my money back. Last month I received a letter of collection in the amount of $2700, on top of $8800 I had already paid them. The collection agency is in Florida and I’m in the process of disputing the amount. Moreover, I want them to pay everything I’ve paid to them plus extra for the grief they caused me during the last 6 years. Sorry for such a long rant. But it needed to be told.
Desired outcome: Stop the collection, refund me $8800
Same story on my part. Very high pressure didn’t uphold their part. Harassing emails and calls
