Door warped opening a gap
The door was installed less than five years ago by Lowes. Never really sealed. Gaps would open and close with the season. Noticed this winter the top of the door apparently warped and the gap is almost 1/2" allowing cold outside air to enter the house. Lowes says installation warranty is for only two years. Masonite says not covered by warranty if a clear coat was not done within two years. Totally absurd. This product is over priced crap.
Desired outcome: Replace the door.
Health and well being
Well over the last few months masonite of pittsburg ks don't care if you have a doctors note or not they point you always and don't care about your health at all the bosses always get into your face and jump your butt over their mistakes the company always has break downs everyday of the week this is a on going thing since my husband started to work there also no sign on bounces...
Desired outcome: Fix theses issuces
Fiberglass door w/sidelight
We ordered this from Home Depot, prehung. My contractor finished the install yesterday - it was basically a rebuilding of the entire entryway, which had 60 year old wood double doors. We get late-afternoon sun on the door. It's 94 degrees today, and, though my a/c is on, my entryway is WARM. The new door is not, though the hinges are. But while the glass is double pane it doesn't work well. I am disappointed!
In addition, the plugs that cover the fasteners that hold the window in are stained too dark a shade. So there are 14 1/4""pimples" on the door's window frame. Same with the sidelight.
I am really unimpressed.
Desired outcome: Ideally, they would do whatever needs to be done to make the windows better insulated (maybe they forgot to extract the air, or didn't add argon gas?). Also, they would remove the plugs and finish them in a matching color.
RESOLVED! I feel terrible and need to remove some of my complaint.
Turns out my contractor did not adjust the door sill (on the threshold). By turning the adjusting screws (as per the install instructions) the sill raises to meet the sweep under the door. THAT's where the heat was leaking from, NOT the door or windows in the door.
I'm still not thrilled about the color match of the doweling, but that's pretty minor in comparison!
Photos must be expanded to see the problem clearly.

Driver competence
At 3.40 pm today my husband and I were travelling on the M1 near junction 35/35a.
For some miles one of your Masonite vehicles was travelling behind at a very dangerous distance. My husband put his hazard lights on to warn them of their dangerous driving, however they ignored them. It was very busy but there was plenty of opportunity to overtake.
The vehicle registration number was DK77 VFF

Custom Entry Door
Ordered a Masonite door from Home Depot January 3rd. This was supposed to take 3 weeks to be delivered. 5 weeks later we received the door. The door was the wrong size, holes were drilled which we didn't ask for and paint is peeling after less than 2 months and not being exposed to elements. Masonite refused to issue a refund. Home Depot is going to honor the refund which they shouldn't have to but we are thankful they are. Now, to find a different door manufacturer...

glass insert in fibreglass door shifted
Double fibreglass entry doors were purchased from Masonite and stained by a local refinisher. Within a year the glass insert shifted in both doors which exposed fibreglass that had not been stained. This makes these expensive doors look terrible. Glue is also seeping out onto the glass. I am embarrassed when people come to our house.
We purchased this door from Glenmore Millwork in Kelowna, Canada and had it stained locally. Glenmore did the installation. We reported this problem of the glass shifting to them within a year and they did not receive any support from Masonite. We have asked them for help for five months and are not going to social media.
masonite fiberglass entry door. size: 35 6/8 x 79
Attention Customer Service: The top window with the casing has slid away and moved down. Malfunctioned. Poorly constructed. This door was installed 10 years ago and the window has been sliding away for the past 5 years. I am getting tired of looking at it! Would Masonite Corporation please sponser a warranteed door/window replacement? Thanks! Look forward to hearing back from you. Keven Moelker [protected]@att.net
steel entry door
We ordered a steel entry door 6 weeks ago from Home Depot. After 3 weeks, got the door and the inner metalwork was scratched up, like the metal was dragged across the ground before being put between the panes of glass. We went back to our local HD who were very helpful and ordered a new door. Waited another 3 weeks and picked up the door tonight. Well, guess what? It's all scratched up all over the metalwork with the metal exposed through the black paint. So, despite knowing we complained about and asked for a replacement for door number 1, they sent a replacement with the same issue. Clearly no inspection happening, nor do they seem to care about producing a product of quality. Avoid Masonite.
French doors w/mini-blind inserts
Purchased two Masonite French doors with the in-door mini-blinds. I've had the doors 2 years and in that time both doors have failed twice, both times due to mini-blind malfunctions. The first, a year ago, Masonite sent two complete doors, Home Depot did the reinstallation all at no cost, as I would expect.
The second time, which is still ongoing, both doors again failed, for the exact same reason. This time Masonite send just the mini-blind inserts, and I am expected to do the actual installation myself. I'm in discussions with Home Depot but they don't want to do the work, at least not without charging me labor costs to install, and Masonite won't respond to my question about sending the complete door vice inserts, nor my complaint about the whole process. This has been going on for well over 6 weeks now.
Their claim and customer serv ice is terrible.
Exterior door & frame
I purchased an exterior door and frame which was suppose to be rot resistant. 20 months latter the door frame had rotted. The purchase ticket clearly stated the door jam was rot resistant Masonite. I filed a complaint and the Masonite representatives claimed it was not calked properly voiding the warranty. The supposedly rot resistant jam is made of a...

I ordered a custom made exterior door with sidelite from Masonite through Home Depot. It cost me 1500.00. It took 4 weeks for them to build and deliver the door. I proceeded to install the door a week later. I have installed many doors in my lifetime and this is the first one that I have run across that has had this problem. The top corner of the door...

I bought a Masonite fiberglass door that was custom due to the rough opening. As other household priorities took place over the door install, the door was left in the original strapping/packing and stored vertically in a dry place for a little over two years. It never occurred to me that the door would be defective as I have 4 other Masonite doors installed...

Masonite Door Company / Broadwater Wholesalers or Galliher & Huguely Do NOT Honor Warranties
Do NOT Buy Masonite Doors, Terrible Customer Service & Attitude, And They have made up every excuse not to Honor There LifeTime Warranty
I purchased three new doors from Galligher & Huguely Lumber & Hardware last year on Blair Road NE, Washington DC. They get them from Broadwater Wholesalers in Pennsylvania (BWI) and they make the door frame, hang the door, add the hinges and door sweeps, and glass you ordered. BWI buys the actual door from Masonite Corp. in Florida. Both Masonite & BWI offer a Lifetime Warranty on the door I purchased. When I received the doors from Huguely, and they were installed, one was warped, so I called them. They came out to see it a few weeks later. Than they contacted BWI and they came out a few weeks later. I had painted the two doors a day or two after they were installed but not the warped door. I was told by Huguely that BWI told me not to paint the door for about 5 months to see if it warp back. After waiting the door was the same but by then the hinges on the doors were also rusted and the door sweeps were all broken. After arguing for months more, they finally sent a man to fix all the problems and order a new door which they came back and replaced a month later. Six months later the same door was warped again and the hinges on that door had rusted again. When I called BWI, they said they were not going to repair it again and refund my money and tell Huguely to sell me a different door and take there doors back. I said NO< these have a lifetime warranty and I do not want to have to pay again to have new doors installed. So I called Masonite and told them the door warped and put in a warranty claim. They asked for pictures at first but than said BWI was handling the issue, which I told them they were not and Masonite should warranty at least there door. I was informed at Masonite that a Ms Ranell Margaret Tinsley [protected])was now handling the claim and its being reviewed by there legal counsel, Donald Tyler (cell-[protected] or home [protected]). I asked why legal was involved in a warranty but they would not say. After a month, Masonite finally gave me an answer, stating since I did not paint the doors the same day they were installed, the warranty was void. They said I should go to the company who installed them improperly because they come with a sticker on the doors which state the doors must be painted the day of installation. I said BWI replaced this door, so why is my installer the blame, BWI installed it and didn't paint it. Even though there doors come primed which should be enough to keep the door from warping, they say they must be painted the same day they are installed. I told them it was painted the following day which was in 24 hours, but they are not caring. I also said there literature says it must be painted within 45 days of installation but they don't believe it, but I have the literature and since I spoke to there attorney Tyler, I told him I have the document and would bet him 100K that I do. Than he said, you had the door replaced once by BWI, so that is all they are obligated to do in it's lifetime and this is how he interprets there warranty. I asked him to show me where it remotely states this but he would not be cause it does not. Than he said the door was installed incorrectly, but they have never been here to see the installation, so how can you arbitrarily say this. So far, they have done everything to NOT warranty there door. There is nothing in there warranty that says, if you buy a door from them it must be installed the next day or it cant be left out in the rain for a month before you install it. Masonite sells these doors already pre hung to Home Depot and Lowes, and they sit there not painted for months. If the painting instructions are not on the doors when they get them from Home Depot or Lowes, how would you know to paint them the same day. A homeowner may take longer to install a door and not finish for two days and not paint it to the week end etc because he works. It seems all three companies have conspired together not to honor there warranty. Any company who send out a wood product unfinished or not sealed at least are ***. I have read endless complaints about this same issue involving Masonite. You need to file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. If they get a lot of complaints they will look into it. I would never tell anyone to buy from Masonite or BWI or Galligher & Huguely or a Masonite product from Home Depot or Lowes for the same reason. Masonite gives a Lifetime Warranty on the door I bought and because I did not paint it the same day it was installed, they are voiding all warranty? Since I said I can prove I have documents saying you can paint it 45 days after installation, they are trying to add excuses. When I received the doors, I never saw any papers on the doors about painting them. Even in Home Depot or Lowes, people pull off stickers or they can fall off. They have no proof that these doors had any stickers on them. I ordered custom size doors and Huguely had me sign off on the dimensions, door swing etc but not the painting warranty. Don't Learn the Hard way, Just DONT buy Masonites or the Other two companies Products. They must get many people calling there corporate CEO etc because any time I call the CEO or Corporate Officer, once I give my name, I get transferred right to there legal.

Anderson is a great company, and they stand by their warranties.
Bought several products in the past, and will continue to buy in the future.
I too have had the same problem
I too, am questioning why I bought a Masonite door?
Please DO YOUR SELF a favor.
Please evaluate the pictures below from Masonite very carefully.

Door Rotting
Warranty claim denied. They installed the door sweep incorrectly. It protruded out from under the door and pushed against center mullion. (a centerhinged patio door) This caused side of door compression gasket not to seal. Allowing water to build up on the center edge of door sweep that was sticking out and center mullion. This water caused the center mullion, door stile, and inactive door stile to rot. I was unaware of the damage until I went to paint before winter arrived. I took pictures sent them in. They cited every reason to deny the claim. Most of the reasons were not in the warranty .pdf nor installation/care .pdf's. I contacted Home Depot to help me out but they are taking a who cares attitude. This is corporate America at best.
If you check the internet you will see dozens if not a hundred similar complaints about Masonite Fiberglass Doors rotting, mold and/or warping after just a short amount of time. Some complaints arose within months after the doors were installed. Masonite does not stand behind the warranty they provided to the customers - lifetime warranty on my door. These doors were represented as 'high end' and cost 3 -5 x more than the other doors Home Depot had for sale. Home Depot doesn't care what they sell. In my case the local store three times returned my door before it was even installed. Home Depot Corporate offices knew or should of known Masonite was selling inferior products. Complain to your state Consumer Protection Division.
Leaks weather elements
I had Masonite french doors installed three years ago. The seal around the doors and in the middle is just a bad design. The astricle that meets the doors in the middle allows rain, wind, and other elements inside. Every time it storms I have had water come in on my wood floors and cartpet. I can also feel the air flow around the doors. I have had three sets of astricles sent to me and replaced and still didn't solve the problem. I had a representative sent out to fix the seals around the doors and still the doors leak elements inside. I had new weather stripping sent to me and replaced and still I have problems with elements leaking inside the doors.
I also have bought the same doors in 2009 and first time it rained there was water leaking from the windows and into my house. They sent someone out to repair the leaking in the windows and has been ok after the repair, or so I thought. I opened the door and my pant leg hit the end of the door and chipped a small corner off the bottom inside edge of the door and wow the bottom part of the door inside of the metal door is wood and the wood it rotten about 3" up and across the bottom and looks like both doors are the same way. I called Home Depot where I got them and that has been 8 days ago and nothing is being done about it. I called Masonite and was told that the door needs to be painted to have any warranty. Wow so the first leak didnt do any harm and the guy that came out and fixed it did stop it from leaking into my living room but not into the door but because a metal door that has only primer on it will cause the metal to soak the wood is what I was told? Poor customer service through both Home Depot and from Masonite. Can't build a good door don't build them any more.
I bought a masonite French door and I'm having the same problem with water coming in the house . Call the manufacturer said it's because I didn't paint the door. I have water coming into the miniblinds glass and Rod the bottom of the door. Then the company said that the gap in the middle piece were the two doors meet and then I emailed the company and the company said that they reviewed . And the company said that they wouldn't cover the door.
Masonite, it was well documented on the internet from 2006 to 2011 as selling inferior merchantise and then ignoring customer complaints. Many of their products were sold by Home Depot. They paid Home Depot extra money to have big displays, when HD employees told the Atlanta offices that they doors were inferior Home Depot customer service did absolutely nothing. I don't know why all the bad complaints against Masonite have 'disappeared' but they are a scam operation at best.
I'm having two problems with my Masonite door. 1. there appears to be adhesive creeping out from around the window and 2. there seems to be a "chalky" substance that randomly appears on top of the paint. The chalky stuff wipes off, but it comes back in about a week and makes the door look "comoflauged" from a distance. The customer is unimpressed... Masonite customer service has yet to even respond to my concerns.
I bought a Masonite Door, fiberglass with two sidelights manufactured in Dickson, TN. and experienced a similar failure. The door was a special order from Home Depot and cost excess of $3, 200 plus installation by a Home Depot contractor. Within two years the door was warping and cold air was coming through the frame. The doors themselves appeared structurally sound, but the fiberglass frame had turned a mushy black mold. Another site a customer posted a picture where his fiberglass had turned black identical to my own problems. I contacted both Home Depot and Masonite. Home Depot refused to even try to resolve the problem. Masonite customer service is a pathetic joke upon the public trust. They sent me a warranty that was different than the one I had in my purchase records. They would not acknowledge the warranty provided to me at the time I bought the door. I ended up replacing the door with a Pella steel door. The Pella has been superior in every way. I would advised you not have any business dealings with Masonite International Doors. Their product is inferior and the company is outright dishonest.
Where ever able to resolve the issue? I have this same problem with water coming threw my french doors.
our pre-hung Masonite french doors have a gap between them large enough to put your little finger in ?. Almost seems as if there is a part missing, but when we look at the display in Rona, and Home Depot, it appears that everything is there. You can see light ast both top and bottom.
Bad service
I purschase a Masonite Fiber Glass patio door from Home Depot. The door was delivered and installed by Home Depot. It's a lifetime warrantly on the door and now after three years the door is starting to warp or bow inward. I called Masonite and they claim I was suppose to paint the door this is within 45 days of installation. This information wasn't...
