customer service
I've been coming to the location in the mall since 1990 and the last few times have been horrible. The ladies and men working don't care about you at all. They make you feel like a bother when you walk in. They make comments like "it's going to be a while". "Do you really want to wait".
I've been here tonight for an hour and a half and only had 2 people in front of me. (Might add I'm still waiting while I write this). The one girl that is still acting like she is working has been cleaning her station for 20 minutes and now decided to go smoke. I've been a loyal customers met for 27 years but tonight is my last time(if I ever get in)
haircut
I went into the salon to get my hair cut to shoulder length. I figured a little trim can't be too hard but I was wrong. Kaitlyn butchered my hair so bad. I'm not even sure how she made it through school. She should not work there or anywhere to cut hair. I had to go to a different place to get my haircut fixed. This was the worst haircut I have ever seen. Definitely don't recommend Master Cuts to anyone. They apparently don't care if people know how to cut hair or not.
district leader acting completely unprofessional and mean to manager
I am a dedicated customer to Mastercuts in Steubenville Ohio. I have been getting my hair done there for years. I always recommend the salon to my friends, family and even when someone stops me asking where I get my hair cut/colored.
On Tuesday, Nov 7th I went into the Salon to get my hair cut and colored. I have had the Salon manager do it in the past. She has always done a fantastic job, so I asked if she could do it again. I believe her name is Stephanie.
I noticed major tention when I entered the Salon. That is NOT what it is normal like. I also noticed a women that seem to be the salon managers boss. I heard them call her Angie.
Right away, she started saying things like, this salon is filthy and wiping her hand on the wall. She was extremely rude and talking down to the manager. The store manager kept her composure, even though she was being talk down to the entire time. The head lady, I believe her name was Angie (Maybe she was the DL), started going cabinets and such. She kept telling the manager that she should have already had all this stuff thrown away. Then the DL started throwing folders, papers and whatever she could grab. I was so uncomfortable and felt really bad for 555Stephanie the manager for how she was being treated and talked down to. I could tell Stephanie was almost in tears, but she held it together & continue to be professional. I want to continue to come there for my beauty needs. However if that DL is there that particular day that my appointment is, I will gladly reschedule for a different day.

Mastercuts
I had an appointment at 3:00 to get my hair colored, highlighted, and cut.
My hair is above my shoulders. It took 3 hours to have this service. The tech foiled my hair with the highlights and put the coloring on. She with her 3 coworkers left the salon and went to starbucks. 20 -30 minutes later, they came back and went to the back room. She never checked my hair to see how the coloring was going. Never checked it! I said to myself well I hope it isn't white. Then after 45-60 minutes later, she checks on it and says lets wash your hair. Then says she is going to put a leave on conditioner in my hair. Oh and guess what……ends up charging me 9.50 for this conditioner that she did not tell me was going to cost! Very displeased with my hair color. This isn't the first time that she has colored my hair and I have been pleased in the past. The girl that was helping her comb out my hair reeked of cigarette smoke. Very unprofessional. I am very angry about the color of my hair. I try not to look in the mirror.
Just so displeased with the whole experience.

hair color/ model
On sept. 12, I went to Master cuts in Imperial Valley Mall for what I understood to be a model for hair color. Prior to this day I was approached by hair stylist Yesenia about being her model for a color test she had with her manager. I was explained that the service would be free of charge and that the service would be supervised by the salon manager.
On sept. 12 when I arrived the salon manager was unaware that Yesenia and I were there to do this service. As service begins salon manager seems to be doing her day to day activities with minimal supervision over the work Yesenia was doing on me.
Yesenia treated me very well and kept asking me questions as to what it was I wanted. Unfortunately, Yesenia was not able to deliver on the hair color I wanted.
My hair was overly bleached and left dry. There were defined lines where you can tell where my hair color started and where the bleach lines began as well. The toning of the hair left the top half of my hair in an orange color while the rest was extremely blonde almost white.
When I noticed all the imperfections I contacted Yesenia to her personal number she provided for me on her card. I explained my issue and situation to her and she agreed to fix it the next day.
When I arrive to the salon the next day I expressed I would rather have my hair back to it brown state then to add more bleach or anything more damaging to my hair. But with a service fee for the tint on my hair. To my confusion i agreed but again I thought this would be fixed free of charge.
Yesenia assured me the whole time that I would not pay at all for the service for the modeling and for the correction of the previous job.
I was still charged and given a discount but I would like to know why I had to pay for a botched job.
One of which was not supervised in any way shape or form.
I will be attaching pictures of what I asked for, what I got with the service and how it was fixed.
I don't think it was correct for me to pay for a job that
As far as the charge goes, I am somewhat confused, if this was all supposed to be free, why did you hand your credit card over at all? Since she kept insisting that you would not have to pay, what was her reasoning for asking for money or credit card? That part was kind of confusing. I guess I understand why they charged for the correction, as when you are offered a free service by someone in training, its kind of at your own risk. I made the mistake of going to a salon my cousin was working at. She had finished her schooling and I was told the salon owner would be overseeing the cut, so I figured it would be fine. Nope. She chopped my hair, did an awful job and the owner didn't even bother coming to watch until the very end, at which point he pointed out every single mistake that she made, basically calling out every flaw in my haircut and using it as a "teaching" moment. I had to pretend I liked it, because she was my cousin. My husband had also gone for a haircut from her, but after how horrible she did on mine, the salon owner took over and did my husbands hair himself, and had my cousin observe as he explained each cut and why you do it this way or use a razor for this part, etc. Wish he had shown up for mine lol I didn't have to pay, but I was told that if I wanted to have her do my hair color, I would have to pay for the product being used. Since she couldn't handle a simple haircut, I didn't bother with letting her color my hair.
the hairdresser completely messed up the color in my daughter's hair.
I made my daughter's hair appointment 2 weeks in advance for her birthday. We told them that she wanted her hair blond with an inch on each side colored, one side red, one side black. The day we went in saturday august 12th at 10am the hair dresser who did my daughter's hair ann asked her if that's really what she wanted. My daughter said yes. She then told my daughter that she would have to redo the blond every 2 weeks, we said ok, we know. Ann again along with another hair dresser asked are you sure you don't just want to do all of your hair one side red and one side black. My daughter said no I want my hair blond with an inch of color on each side, one side red and one side black. They again told her it would look better solid on each side, she said no that's not what I want. So I asked ann are you not able to do that? She said yes, I can. I said ok, that's what she wants. She put the bleach on my daughter's hair and then told her she couldn't get it blond. At first it turned an ugly orange color so she had to put purple stuff on her hair to take the orange out, then she turned my daughter's hair completely purple, so she had to re-bleach it and it turned blond. Then she again asked my daughter if she wanted the solid colors on the ends she said yes. Ann said she would just do foil that it would be fine, my daughter said I don't want the foil I want it solid on both sides, she did foil anyway. She went so far up her hair with the color she only left about an inch of blond, and it was so choppy and uneven looking, it looked horrible. Plus there were parts of her hair with no color of black or red underneath at all, and parts of her hair we're still purple. We left, after 5 hrs. I didn't realize how bad it was until we got home. My daughter has not stopped crying. I called ann back on saturday when we got home. Asked her why she went so high, she said because it wouldn't have looked good and that there was a dark ring, my daughter said it looked fine and told ann it looked fine and that she did not want her to put the red and black high up she wanted her hair mostly blond. That's not what she did. I have included pictures of my daughter's hair. I told her even if that was the case, her hair is so unevenly colored it's choppy looking, she had squares of color on her hair. I told her she needed to fix it. So we went back, another almost 2 hours. She said she couldn't do anything about it so she was going to have to make it solid, cover all the blond. She then waited until I sat down and told my daughter, I know your mad at me but you'll thank me for this later. No, she did not do what my daughter asked, argued with her about it, said she could and would do what she asked, then messed her hair up. Now my daughter is stuck with a hair style and color that she did not ask for. I have also attached a copy of my receipt. I want a refund because she messed up my daughter's hair and did not do what we asked for. My name is stephanie jordan, my number is [protected].
cut, color and unprofessional
I made an appointment, 2 weeks ahead of time with a young lady who had done a great job on my hair. When I went for my appointment, she did not show up, because management said she was scheduled off and was not permitted to come in. The manager is the one who did my hair. (1) she left me sitting in the style chair for 45 minutes, while she was on her cell phone taking care of personal business. (2) while using a multi angle picture of the cut I wanted, she cut it too short and multiple lengths from 1/4 in to 1/2 in! All I asked for was a trim and shape. (3) I asked for a splash of color just in the bangs. The color is way too dark and pretty much covers the entire bangs. By the time I realized what she was doing, it was too late. Then charged me almost $60 dollars! I cried for most of the day. I am now trying to find someone who can try to fix it and hopefully leave some hair.
professionalism
I have been going to master-cuts in the springfield mall location for a few years now.
About four months ago there was a different manager that introduced herself to me. When I was in there the other week, I happen to overhear her and what appeared to be her assistant talking poorly about another employee. They were not discrete about it at all!
Considering its a beauty shop, I figured this is not unheard of,
However today I decided to leave a comment.
When I stopped by the mall to finish my errands I overheard the same two women bad mouthing an employee again. The things they were saying were not only vulgar but downright disturbing that I am concerned about who ever they were discussing. I will not be returning.

I took my son to mastercuts to get a hair cut. I explained what I wanted her to do however she did not do what I asked her. I my had been crying all night! He's 13 years old! Now he has to walk into a wedding with about 300 people ans feel bad about himself! I'm am very very upset! I want something done asap! No one should ever had to go though this! Thank you
complaining about a employee that works at master cuts
This employees name is juanita and this is at the rivergate location in tennessee at rivergate mall. I was getting my hair done by korey mendoza ive been a loyal customer for almost 5 yrs. I come once a week to get my hair washed and once a month for color. I was getting color and me and korey was talking to one another about something we observed at another store and this juanita lady told me this is a family salon and we were the only ones there. She kept talking trash and I told her your doing to much shes very lucky I was a lady and didnt knock her lights out!
Shes always been rude to me with her dirty looks and rude over the phone. I dont appreciate this I really dont want to find another salon to go to but if this keeps on going I will.

haircut
Making a complaint about a poor haircut for my husband. The hairdresser (Brittany) was messing up the cut so badly that the manager came over to fix it up. By the time my husband walked out he has what looks like a botched up buzz cut- which I could've done myself for him at no cost to us. My husband came in to the establishment some time ago and was very impressed by Kayla's work, and intended to wait for her, but when he stepped out of the establishment for a minute she ended up taking another client and rather than wait through another visit he opted to have Brittany give him a haircut. So we really enjoy the work of one of the hairdressers there, but are beyond disappointed with the cut he received at this visit. He was given 20% off the total due to the poor job, but I'd like a coupon/certificate for his next cut to be free of charge. Thank you for your time and consideration. I don't want to leave a poor review for your business because he has been very satisfied with the work done by another hair dresser at the establishment, but this cut I could've done better myself without any salon experience!
service
Came in as a walk in for my girlfriend. Was told the wait would be an hour, which was fine. The wait for any available next stylist of course. A customer walked in and the Male stylist told the customer "you know I'm by appointments only" and began to talk to each like they knew each other. After waiting and hour the male stylist took the customer that just walked in... And asked my girlfriend if we were waiting. We said yes for an hour, then he said it's because your a walk in. Right after just taking in a walk in. Horrible service from the stylist "Maurice". Remember they will service their friends there before you even after you have been waiting. Will be going to Supercuts from here on out.
coloring
I made an appointment on april 4, 2017 in the morning to have my short (3-4 inches) mohawk dyed gray. I was assured the stylist, whose name I don't remember, could accomplish this, because she took care of "the gray lady". Apparently she is somewhat of a local community celebrity in moline, il.
The process itself took three attempts, wasting four hours and forcing me to go to work with my mohawk shellacked in place (for which I was reprimanded and written up) because I would have been late otherwise.
I was overcharged twice on the card I used, and I had to fight with my bank to get that corrected. I was supposed to have paid $84 and some change, and was charged upwards of $96 the first time and $110 the second time.
It was finally corrected after several days, and I chalked it up to a computer error. My hair wasn't quite the desired shade, but gray is difficult and I was just tired of dealing with it.
Well, after paying $86 and endless hassle, the color washed out entirely by 05/06/2017 and has been completely blond since then, which I never wanted. My roots haven't even made an appearance yet, and the color is already gone.
Mastercuts lost a customer, and I think that's fair.
awful haircut
I went to Master Cuts at Lindale Mall in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. It was the worst experience I have ever had at a salon, I was left with a lopsided hair cut and a V shape in the back of my head, my hair literally looked like I let kids at it. Had to go to another salon to have it fixed, I will never go there again. I called and spoke to a manager and she only said I'm sorry, no refund or anything else. Trust me I will let everyone know how terrible this place does business.
overcharged and not what I asked for!
I went to mastercuts at the mall (in bridgeport, wv) 2 weeks ago to get my hair dyed. Well I got asked what I wanted done to my hair by a lady who worked there with short very white blonde hair/glasses. I told her I wanted my hair dyed bleach blonde. She then told me that it would take too long and come back another day for she was leaving early that evening. So I asked her if someone else could squeeze me in. So the girl (she is the new one, I now know) comes and asks me what I want done. I tell her the same exact thing, that I want my hair dyed bleach blonde. Well she first tells me that its going to cost $180 (I didnt think much of it bc my hair needs were in a crisis and I just wanted my hair done) so I told her ok. So she gets the foils out.. That should of been warning #1 bc I didnt ask for highlights. Then does it almost all over leaving pieces of my hair untouched here and there. Im thinking she must be uplifting or using some chemical to speed up the process for when she bleaches my hair? Then she rinses it all out and puts this other stuff in my hair and has me laying with my head in the sink for about 10-15 mnts. Then rinses it all out and starts to dry. Also she did not even touch any of my roots as well and just highlighted pieces of my hair and made it a tiny bit lighter is all she did. After blow drying it and seeing my reaction she tries to tell me that it will lighten up very quickly and that the lights in the salon are dim so I can't see what it actually looks like!? Now does that seem to be $180 worth of services? Or that she completely did not even come close as to what I asked for! I could of had my 8 year old dye my hair better than that #. I will be making a phone call and making a visit back to have a talk with management about this! I had to give myself some time to cool down before going back bc I was going to give that girl a piece of my mind. Thats how upset I am. Let's just say i'll do it myself and not waste my time and money. Mastercuts is the worst!
haircut
I had a 2:30 PM appt w/ Thanh on 11/12/16 (Ticket 47). I was on time and she was cutting a man's hair when I arrived. She told me it would only be a few minutes and at 2:35 began coloring the guy's hair! She had given me a great cut in June so I sat and waited. I made it clear I did not want any length off the back, just a trim and to trim up the layers...and showed her 2 pictures of what I wanted, one was my work badge. (I had a shoulder-length shag.) We talked about the length again during the shampooing and again once I was in the chair. She cut my back length off! to the top of my neck! She styled my hair (poorly) and charged me for a MED to LONG blow dry, and when questioned about the length she said she put in lots of layers. I was hoping when I was able to style it, it would be better. That was not to be and I called the manager, Brian, who made me wait to talk to the district manager, Amanda. She wanted pictures which I sent her - the pics I showed at the cut and also of my short hair. When I did not hear back I called and Brian told me that Amanda was going to refund me, and he told me to call her. She had changed her tune and was rude and argumentative. Now she wanted to see me in person. I did not go because of her rudeness and obviously she had made up her mind to not refund me. Since when does a hairdresser disregard a request not to cut off your length and her manager backs her by being rude?! This is just not right. My whole point of requesting a refund is because of how my request was totally disregarded and I was treated poorly to boot.
I understand 100%.
I went to get a spiral perm with my shoulder length hair,
and she blew it. Picture and past color rods was handed to her on a silver platter
It was like it was her first time ever doing a perm at all...and all of this crappy service for $110.00.
I was only given half of it back. The whole right side was straight as a pin and ALL of my hair was like straw.
What are these business owners thinking?
Word of mouth plus the internet, can close you down.
Treat customers like they are m##### and you did it to yourself.
haircut
WOW! I went in to the Mastercuts salon in the Westfarms mall to have my hair cut and was mistreated by the hair dresser. She was jabbing me in the head and poked me in the eye twice with her finger. She was very rough. Come to find out she was angry because her and another hair dresser had gotten in to a fight. I called the district manager, Dean Grabowski, yesterday to report the treatment that I received and his main concern were the customers that he had lined up for haircuts. He told me that he would check on the complaint last night when he went to investigate the fight. He was supposed to call me around 6pm last night but I did not receive a call. I contacted him this morning, he did not answer, and told him that It seems that they truly do not care about their customers when I left a voice message. I still have received no call from him.
as a former employee
It is the most chaotic, mismanaged salon Ive ever worked at. The dress code is extremely lax on female stylists, but yet strict on the male stylists. We had no manager for 6 of the 10 months I was there. A stylist that was messing up almost every haircut he did and wasn't allowed to open or close by himself or do chemical services, and threatened to shoot up the salon managed to keep his job and still take clients like it's no big deal for 6 months. It's right next to the kids play area so you have to try to do consultations with clients while hearing kids scream all day. The break room has roaches. Unless you bring your own tools (like I did) the clippers, blowdryers, and trimmers are terrible quality and don't even work. I'm supposed to push products I'm not even allowed to use on clients. I've been told to lie to clients before on the whereabouts of stylists that used to work there EVEN IF THEIR CURRENT SALON IS ALSO OWNED BY REGIS. I've had to perform services I had never heard of and was told by management to "just fake it". At a few different points, the only volume of developer we had in stock was 40 (for you non stylists, that's an extremely harsh, damaging chemical. I rarely ever use higher than20) . There's never any of the color/supplies/products we need in stock. The place is well overdue for a remodel. You really cant set anything on the awkwardly slanted stations there. The salon needs to be shut down and I apologize to anyone who's ever came in and had to experience how much unprofessional ### goes on there.
management
My complaint is very intense I have been bullied threaten as a manager I went to my dl manager who is dean also went to his boss who is bob nothing had been resolved ! I would have to call mall security several times for the way 3 stylist that were constantly harassing me there names r Lisa, Kolaiah, and Chelsea ! I no longer work there as a manger as of December 26 2015 ! When I reached out to dean my dl manager he thought this was funny he sent me a text laughing at me the text was never meant to be sent to me ! he did apologize for that but I never trusted him or confided in him I was very scared ! When I had gotten sick I asked for some sick time off it's called FML family medical leave they denied me for that ! to be treated that way for management or any employees is very harsh and not appropriate I didn't know what more to do I had reached out to several people I hope that someday Regis corporation will know how to properly take the correct steps in discipline actions I just thought that maybe you should know what was going on and no one should ever be bullied in a workplace thank you for your time and consideration . Also here is my number if you would like to speak to me [protected] Kimberly Stanhope
hair coloring and cut
On the 27th of Aug. I went into Mastercuts to get a 21 foil highlight. My receipt # is 6. I asked the stylist for the 21 foil. (this is what I have always done there and is on their records) She (Amy was the stylist) did do the 21 foil but also tried to cover my roots with some color she came up with. I did not ask for this to be done. When she was done...
