Ridiculous tires cost 2k, they charged my card 20k!
Ridiculous tires cost 2k, they charged my card 20k! Yes, 20K! But they only got *** because that was all that was in my account. Transaction goes through, the manager asked me what did I do. Are you kidding me? They reverse the transaction, but of course, my account is in the negative because the reverse takes 2-3 business days. Then they tell me I can't take my car with me... unbelievable. They need to be shut down. Then they have the nerve to ask me if I want to apply for a *** Credit card... scamming in that business.
I orderd a set of tires at the end of March
I orderd a set of tires at the end of March. I purchased the tires on *** and for them to be installed at Mavis Tire. When I arrived at the shop the only set of the tires I ordered didn't come in the right size. The associate told me to leave the tires there and to contact the seller so I did. The seller was helpful sending me a shipping label to forward to Mavis which I did. 2 weeks pass and the tires were still there. The seller printed anther shipping label i forward it again and still it wasn't picked up. 3 days ago I go up to Mavis to see what was going on.When I arrived a associated (***) greeted and soon dismissed me saying my tires weren't there and I need to email him with receipt of everything. I respectfully left and gathered all the emails I've been seeing Mavis and the seller for the pass month. They called me a few days later saying *** picked the tires up. That was odd to me because I never placed a return on *** I always contacted the seller directly. The seller told me to provide a reciept for the *** pick up. When I contacted *** they told me they had no records of the Tires being picked up. Which leads me in a huge circle. Either Mavis lost my tires or sold them and they don't want to take responsibility for it. You would think in a time like this Billion dollar companies would make sure their costumer had treated with respect and not make them look like liars. I am currently still trying to figure out a way to get a refund.

I went to Mavis Tires & Brakes because my back tire was wiggling and I couldn't go over 20 miles. The guy there told me the person who works on that wasn't there, so I left. A couple of hours later, they called me and said it was the upper arm control and I needed to replace it, which would cost $837. I told them to just do the arm control, thinking it would fix the problem. I paid $480 for the upper control arms and got a call later that my car was ready, but I couldn't pick it up the same day. I called and spoke to someone named *** and told him I would get it in the morning. 30 minutes later, *** called me asking if I was getting my car, so there was some miscommunication. The next day, I went to get my car and found out that my tire was still the same. I asked *** about it and he said that *** was supposed to contact me, but my back frame was cracked and they don't work on those. I never received a call about it, and I wouldn't have wanted them to fix my car if it wasn't completely fixed. They didn't even fix what I brought it there for. I took it to another shop that does frame work and they told me it was the lower control arm, not my frame, and it was even on recall. I feel like I was tricked by Mavis, and all they can say is they'll give me a discount if I come back for more service. But after this experience, I don't want to go back there.

7/25/22 had inspection and told I needed brakes. I had them done, went back the next day, brakes were making noise, they said they adjusted them and I left.
Went to a mechanic in 7/5/23, almost a year since Mavis supposedly fixed my brakes, brakes were making grinding noise. Mechanic had to install a rotor and brake pads, Mavis didn't put in one rotor or one brake pad. I was charged for both. I trusted them to do the work. I feel I was taken advantage of since I'm a senior woman and not mechanically inclined. To me a form of elder abuse non physical.
I didn't go back to Mavis, wouldn't trust them to do the right thing and would never go there again or recommend them. I wonder if they have actual mechanics working there.

I stopped by Mavis to have my brakes looked at to see approximently how much pad i had left on front and rear. i was shone that i was almost metal to metal. iwas given an estement of around $860. I got some tires from this place on December 13. Then on January 16, one of the tires went flat while I was driving on the highway at 60mph. I called Mavis tires and went there on Sunday, January 17. I talked to Aris Webb and he said they would replace the tire for free because it was defective. I went back on January 20, but they didn't have the tire in stock, so I had to wait. When I got there, Aris took my car and said they wouldn't charge me for the tire replacement. But then Jamal said I had to pay $43 for warranty and computer balance. Aris wasn't there anymore and I was given the wrong information.

I took my 2009 Cadillac Escalade Platinum to Mavis Tires & Brakes for a front suspension inspection. When I got my truck back, I saw that the bracket controlling my electric running board was busted. The boss said if I let them do the work, they'd replace the bracket for free. But if I went somewhere else, I'd have to pay for the bracket and they'd still replace it for free. I talked to the big boss and he said they'd fix it for nothing. I had an appointment for 9/17 at 9am, but when I came back at 7pm, they hadn't done anything to my truck. I want them to keep their promise and fix the bracket they broke while my truck was in their shop.

I went to Mavis Tire & Brakes in Oaklawn, Ill on 5/25 to get my 2008 Chevy Impala fixed. I bought new parts and they agreed to put them on. The parts were Front L, R CV AXLES, Front L, R HUB ASSEMBLY, Front L, R INNER, OUTER TIRE RODS, Front L, R Brakes, Rotors, Rear Brakes, Front Wheel Alignment. It cost me $750.63. They finished the work, but my wheel alignment was still off. So, I went back on 5/26 at 11am. My car didn't have any fluid leaks when I arrived, but when their technician tried to drive it onto the ramp, the manager asked about my car's make and model. I asked why and he said that my transmission fluid started to leak. They didn't fix it until 5/29.

Took my car to Mavis for new tires and oil change. They did a check-up and kept it for a long time. When I got it back, my son who is a mechanic was mad about how much they charged us. They charged us for each tire service like mounting and balancing, which should have been included. They also said we needed a lot of things done to make the car safe to drive. The price went up and up and after a discount, it was still almost $3700. They said we needed a sway bar link kit and when they put it in, they broke something. We checked with Toyota and found out they charged us too much for parts. They also charged us for each step of every job instead of per job. After getting other estimates, we should have only paid $2400.

I got 4 new tires from Mavis Tires & Brakes on March 22. They came with warranty/road hazard. In January 2022, one of my tires got a nail in it, so I called Mavis to get it fixed. They gave me a date and time to come in, but when I got there, I had to wait for over 2 hours before they told me to come back another time. They added air to my tire so I could drive home. I went back to Mavis on February 2, 2022, and they did a flat tire repair instead of replacing the whole tire. The area of the tire that was fixed is not supposed to be repaired, and when I got my car inspected by *** Lexus, they told me that the patching was illegal. I called Mavis on June 9, 2022, at 5:53 pm and asked to speak to a manager. *** said he was the manager, but when I told him about the tire situation, he said his guys don't do that kind of work. I said I would contact corporate and the ComplaintsBoard.com, and he told me to go ahead and hung up. I think Mavis Tires & Brakes is discriminating against me because I'm a woman, and I'm not sure if the tires I got were actually new.
