If I could give McGrath Honda zero stars, I would
If I could give McGrath Honda zero stars, I would. Lies, lies, lies. Got a certified car and had big issues.
I didn't do business with them because they replaced a part that wasn't the problem and it still wasn't fixed
I didn't do business with them because they replaced a part that wasn't the problem and it still wasn't fixed. If you discover a faulty part or suspect it's faulty, you should have all the information and facts about why it's bad before replacing it and seeing if it fixes the issue. It cost me 900 dollars. They should have done a thorough diagnosis to determine if it was indeed a faulty part instead of just hoping for the best.
It was a certifed vehicel accroding to them and it has an extendid warranty
It was a certifed vehicel accroding to them and it has an extendid warranty. After having it for a month the car stoped working. To have it fixed, it's going to cost almost 3k. DO NOT PURCHASE A VEHICLE FROM THEM! They would not fix it and the warranty does not cover computer or electrical issues. The worst experience ever from a car dealer.
I regret buying from them!
I regret buying from them! My new car is in the shop for the third time in 7 months, for the same thing. I talked to a young lady, stating I was thinking I got a lemon and want a new car. She said we don't own the car, the bank does. I said, so you don't stand by your cars? She told me it's not their car, I would have to talk to the bank. She said she can't give me the bank information. I have called the man who sold me the car and many other departments, no one has called back. I feel lied to and scammed.
I went to McGrath City Honda to buy a new car but had a bad experience on the sales floor
I went to McGrath City Honda to buy a new car but had a bad experience on the sales floor. When I asked for a lower interest rate, a Sales Manager asked if I was Muslim because "Muslims don't like paying interest." He also mentioned that I didn't look Muslim, like it was supposed to be a compliment. DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE. They discriminate, have prejudice, and racism from people in higher positions who should focus on making customers happy instead of judging and hating them.
Totally unprofesional and unfair business practices
Totally unprofesional and unfair business practices. Not only they ripped my Father off on the purchase of a new car (they took advantage of him because he speaks only basic English) but it's been EIGHT Months, YES Eight Months and they still haven't cancel the unwanted warranties that totaled over $4K that we asked them to cancel. All the cancellation paperwork was sent to *** Finance Manager in EARLY FEBRUARY. He receive it and informed us that they will cancel it and it will reflect on the statement within 60 days. It's been EIGHT months now and it's still not cancelled or credited properly. Despite numerous emails he stays ignorant and never did what he was told for several months. How hard is it ? It's just pure ignorance and totally unprofessional business behavior on his part. I want ComplaintsBoard.com take action here and call those Clowns and have the warranty cancelled ASAP because this is what they should of done Eight Months ago!
As customers, we're all scared to go into a dealer for service
As customers, we're all scared to go into a dealer for service. But at this place, I don't get that feeling. Everyone, from sales to service, to the car wash boys and parts guys, they're all nice. The service team there is outstanding and they do everything they can to help out customers and get the car back on the road. I went into *** Honda for a recent check and they couldn't get my extended warranty to cover my issues and wanted me to pay a crazy amount of money. So, I paid the fee just for my car to get looked at. I brought my vehicle into McGrath City Honda and worked with *** and *** and they were amazing! I was able to use a rental instead of going to Hertz for free!? Yes, for free! My *** was also only $100.00 instead of *** and the rest was covered by my extended insurance. I am very grateful to have such an amazing service facility blocks away from my home to go to. Thank you to everyone at McGrath City Honda, and I will be back soon! Toodles.
We brought our car to McGrath City Honda for a few simple things and a warranty repair
We brought our car to McGrath City Honda for a few simple things and a warranty repair. We gave a part to the service tech who met us at the service department and included this repair on the service sheet. We have two different McGrath papers that list our request. The repair is for something under the car, and since we thought this was the dealership where we bought the car, we assumed it would be taken care of during the service. However, recently, we, who don't know much about cars, asked a friend to check if the repair had been done. It hadn't. It takes over an hour to get to McGrath and another hour to get back. The service manager and the relations manager haven't given us any assurance about how long it will take to fix or replace the part, or how much it will cost us. We don't trust them, and neither should you. They haven't apologized, just had rude phone conversations with us. It's their way or the highway, with no consideration for our frustrations, wasted time, and now our lack of trust. I even have PDFs of the McGrath papers with their letterhead, but the service manager denies that we spoke to *** about the part repair. It's just not right.
This whole situation has been a headache and it's been really frustrating for me
This whole situation has been a headache and it's been really frustrating for me. I took my car to McGrath Honda to get a full diagnostic test and to check the transmission. Before going to Honda McGrath, I went to a transmission specialist who said that my transmission was causing the problems with my car. I wanted the car manufacturer to confirm this before getting it fixed, so I took it to McGrath. They said that my transmission wasn't the issue, but they found other problems. They tried to fix it three times, but it never solved the problem. Then I took my car to another transmission specialist who confirmed that it was indeed the transmission. The mechanic couldn't understand why Honda couldn't see that. He suggested that I go back to Honda and complain, asking them to fix the problem. So I did, but I wasn't happy about it. The person who helped me this time was the only good thing about this whole experience. He went above and beyond to figure out what was wrong with my car and told me that it was the transmission. I was really upset because I had already told them that from the beginning. He tried to get Honda to cover the cost, but they refused for some strange reason. I never wanted anything for free, but I do think they should have given me a big discount since I had already spent a lot of money on unnecessary repairs. They don't see it that way and we've been arguing about it ever since. Now they're threatening me about the loaner car they gave me. My car was fixed on June 13th, and even though I still don't think it's fair, I said I would pay the bill. I asked if I could pay half now and the other half within 30 days, but they said no. And now they're saying that I abandoned my car, which is not true.
We went to McGrath Honda Saint *** to buy a used 2014 Kia Sorrento for my dad's birthday on ***
We went to McGrath Honda Saint *** to buy a used 2014 Kia Sorrento for my dad's birthday on ***. We told them upfront that we were paying cash before even looking at the used car. Sat at the salesperson's desk and they asked for my driver's license so we could test drive the car. Then they gave me a form to fill out with my personal info, including #, because of "***" to fight terrorism. Like I said, we're paying cash and don't need financing. They took the form to an office and did a credit check without asking me. On Monday 5/10, the *** Director (***) called and said they checked my credit because it was a cash transaction over $10,000 and it would be a lot of paperwork to remove the credit inquiry. I had already warned him that I would write a bad review if they didn't remove it. He didn't take my warning seriously, so here I am writing this and sending it to their corporate office to expose their shady business practices. As a customer, I deserve a fair and honest transaction and my private info should be protected. "*** explains that the claim that a credit check is required by the *** is false. Dealers use this as an excuse to get your info and run your credit. They might want to check your credit to see your financial situation or convince you to finance with them, even if you already have your own funding. The U.S. ***, passed in 2001 to fight terrorism, doesn't force car dealers to run a credit check or make you consent to it. Dealers can only check your credit if you agree, according to the *** Reporting Act. If a dealer tries to run a credit check without your consent, it's a big warning sign that they can't be trusted. Unfortunately, there are many untrustworthy dealers out there who scam buyers and cause financial harm.
I would give them 0 stars if possible
I would give them 0 stars if possible. I got my car from them less than a month ago and what a mistake it was! I got a Honda Civic 2018 with 20k miles CERTIFIED which means it passed a 182 point inspection. I took the car for a test drive and the sales guy that was in the car with me told me the route to take, which was less than 2 miles around the dealership on busy streets so basically I didn't get to see the car run past 30mph. It seemed the car was running ok and there didn't seem to be issues. After the test drive me and my friend inspected the car a little bit, we opened the engine compartment too and we noticed that the engine compartment wasn't cleaned at all and there was some oil spill on the engine but the salesman told us it was probably just a spill by mistake when they changed the oil. They of course offered to clean the engine compartment and the interior(it was obvious it wasn't cleaned recently). Only after I got home and checked the inspection list thoroughly I noticed that when the inspection was done the engine compartment was marked as cleaned, the interior as well, which they weren't. That was the first red flag and I should have left right then. I said it's just some dirt and it can be cleaned. While we were working on the paperwork they kept telling me I'm getting a very good car and it's a good deal. They even added extra fees on the bill which I wasn't going to pay for. Make sure you don't pay for any extra taxes and fees other than doc fee, electronic filling fee, state and county tax and state license and title. I got the car and as I was driving on my way home from the dealership I heard a humming noise when the car was running past 30mph. I thought it's just me and all my friends were telling me it shouldn't have anything since it's a certified car with recent inspection, few miles and just 3 years old. A week later I'm taking the car to their service to have the engine compartment and the interior cleaned as they promised and I also asked them to check the humming noise. They checked it and the humming noise was coming apparently from the wheel bearing. How does a car pass the inspection and after you buy it has safety issues? They kept my car in service for 3 days to fix it and they didn't even offer me a loaner. They paid for my ride to work the day I left the car there but the other rides to work and home forget about it. How can I feel safe now with my car and how can I believe that there are no other issues with the car? After few attempts I was finally able to get in touch with the general sales manager and asked him to offer me another full inspection at another dealership so I can feel safe with the car and really believe that there won't be any other issues with my car but he instantly denied my request and he told me that I am free to take the car to any dealership for another inspection but he won't pay for it because they fixed my problem and they stand behind the car. This is very poor service! Once you paid for the car they washed their hands and nothing can touch them. I would strongly recommend DON'T buy from them! Save yourself some headaches. Don't buy from them!

Car sunroof sudenly exploded. Glass shattered in millions pieces putting a safety hazard for me. The car is 3 months old, purchased brand new. Honda has to take responsibility and fix the problem immediately.

I bought a new car from McGrath City Honda on April 22 and also got an accessory called the trailer tow package. Unfortunately, some of the parts for this accessory are not currently in stock and the manufacturer hasn't given any information on when they will be available. I've told McGrath City Honda that I want to cancel the charge and the order, but they want to wait until the part is available.
This business keeps emailing me with SPAM
This business keeps emailing me with SPAM. I have never signed up to be on their mailing lists, nor have I done business with them. I have made multiple attempts to have my email removed from ALL of the McGrath lists, yet they have failed to comply. I simply want my email removed from ALL of their lists and for them to STOP EMAILING ME.

About two months ago, I sold a 2021 Tesla S to McGrath Honda on W Grand Ave
About two months ago, I sold a 2021 Tesla S to McGrath Honda on W Grand Ave. They said they gonna pay off my loan, and once the lien was released and they got the title, they would pay me the balance of $18,000. On or about June 16th, my lender *** told me they got confirmation that the lien was released and the title would be sent out. One month later, I couldn't reach anyone on the phone to talk about it. I recently emailed the sales manager *** three times, but no response. They owe me a lot of money, and it's time for them to pay up.
On May 24th, 2022, I bought my first car from McGrath City Honda
On May 24th, 2022, I bought my first car from McGrath City Honda. While going through the paperwork, they told me stuff like "The credit union needs these packages for financing the car," which made me sign up for more than $8k in extras. So, the original price of $18,800 became $31k. But, within 24 hours, I noticed some issues. The car had a chipped windshield, no oil, and it was burning oil with engine problems. I've seen multiple check engine lights. I took the car for servicing, but they didn't address or fix any of my concerns, and they didn't even mention them in the service document. When I got the car back, all they did was reset the oil life without changing the oil. (I have more proof documents.)
We bought a car from McGrath City Honda on 3/16
We bought a car from McGrath City Honda on 3/16. When my son checked our financing papers, we realized that the dealership had deceived us, taking advantage of two elderly individuals. How does the starting price of approximately 46,000 jump to nearly 67,000 for a Honda Passport? They added about 8,100 in charges for service warranties, maintenance warranty, and other things. They didn't even mention the Honda zero percent interest that was advertised online, instead offering a measly bonus of 1200 for choosing a lender who charged them around 3.75%. They even tried to sell us a warranty to protect against bird droppings! One person said it was already included, but when I called the next day, someone else said they had to wait for bank financing. I emailed Mike and Dana, but we want to take this matter higher up.
I saw a 2016 car online for 16,490 bucks at McGrath City Honda
I saw a 2016 car online for 16,490 bucks at McGrath City Honda. When I went there to test drive it on a Saturday, they told me it was gone for inspection. But then on Monday, they called and said it was back and ready to be test driven. My hubby was out of town for work, so he had to take an Uber. They promised to pay for that. To cut a long story short, they did a bait and switch. This guy named Luis told me that my 16,490 dollars was combined with some other amount and ended up being 20k. But guess what? When I made my Honda finance profile, it said I was actually financing 25k. How does 16,490 plus a 500 down payment add up to 25k? It doesn't make sense, and they won't give me the right contract or return my calls. Avoid Luis R and the whole McGrath team. They're not playing fair.
McGrath Honda is lying to us about a car manufacture recall job
McGrath Honda is lying to us about a car manufacture recall job. They said they couldn't finish the job two days ago, so they want me to come back today. They won't give me a loaner car or pay for a rental car. The Honda Manufacture covers this recall completely. I couldn't take my daughter to school because I couldn't drive the car to work. Today when I contacted them to say I'm picking up the car, they said it wasn't ready. They need another day or so (nobody knows how long at this time). When I asked for transportation so I can drive my daughter to school, suddenly the manager is busy and so are the car advisers. No one would take my call, and no one returned my messages. Again, they were nice and friendly when I bought the car from them...but when the car has problems, their attitude changes quickly. They lie to customers and advertise falsely. Let the justice services handle this. Please help!
I bought a car on 2/17
I bought a car on 2/17. The car salesperson told me it was $10,995. But when I did the paperwork with the F&I manager, Luis, he said it was $12,000. I asked him about it, and he said there were fees that made up the difference. Before that, I had already said no to the extended warranty with the salesman. But Luis told me that the "free" 90-day warranty needed an extra signature, so he took out an iPad. I signed it, thinking it was for the "free" warranty. Turns out, they sold me an extended warranty for $1105.00. They never gave me any information about this extended warranty. Also, Luis checked my credit six times, even though I already had pre-approval from Capital One. Now I have five extra hard inquiries on my credit report that I didn't agree to. I want them to give me a $1005 credit for the inflated cost of the car and refund the fraudulent extended warranty ($1105.00). I also want them to adjust the sales tax ($73). I called the dealer and spoke to John S, but he never called me back.
Me and my husband bought a Honda HRV from McGrath on December 31
Me and my husband bought a Honda HRV from McGrath on December 31. We planned to purchase the car in *** and drive it back to ***, *** where we live. Since it was an out of state purchase, McGrath owed us money for the difference in taxes. They sent us two checks - one on February 16, addressed to *** for $293.25, and another on February 15, addressed to *** of *** for $1553. The address on the *** of *** check was wrong, so we couldn't cash it. We ended up paying the *** of *** ourselves because Finance never called us back. It's been over a year now, and every time I call, they put me on hold and transfer me without answering. I always end up leaving another voicemail for the finance department. Only the Sales department answers, but when I asked them not to transfer me, they transferred me to voicemail again. The checks are just sitting on my desk, and I can't cash them. It seems like the check was signed by someone named ***. If I don't get a solution here, I'll have to go to Small Claims Court and handle it myself.
I bought a car from McGrath City Honda
I bought a car from McGrath City Honda. On the same day, as I was about to go on a road trip, the vehicle showed a service shifter message on the dashboard. I was surprised to find out that the car had no spare tire, no floor ***, and no floor mats. I expressed my concerns to the salesman, and he said that the issues with the service shifter, spare tire, ***, and floor mats would be resolved. I also purchased an extended warranty and was advised to take the car to Honda Service for resolution. The day after purchasing the vehicle, I took it to the service center and waited for almost 7 hours to hear back. Finally, I received a call from ***, who works at the service center, and he said that the vehicle needs new shifter parts. He also mentioned that the warranty I purchased would not be effective for another 30 days, and I had to pay for the diagnostic. After explaining my situation and pleading with him, they resolved the diagnostic charge. However, he mentioned that someone had to pay his worker, which I found unprofessional. I was told that the problem would be resolved, but I had to pay for it. I spent *** dollars on this car, and this treatment is very unfair. In the past, I referred a client who purchased a *** dollar car from Honda McGrath, and now that I bought a car, they treat me this way. It's unfair and not right. Please help me resolve this. I believe they should cover the repair of the shifter service parts and labor completely at no cost to me. They should also provide me with a spare tire, floor mats, and *** at no cost to me.
On Tuesday, April 28, I took my vehicle to McGrath City Honda for an oil change
On Tuesday, April 28, I took my vehicle to McGrath City Honda for an oil change. Once my vehicle was admitted, a guy named Daniel approached me and informed me that I needed new brakes and rotor resurfacing. Later on, he mentioned that the air filter and cabin filter also needed to be changed. At that point, I requested to see the finished work. After paying a hefty bill of $60718, Daniel lifted the hood and showed me the oil level. He then opened the air filter to reveal the new filter. However, before closing the filter, he called another person over to show me the cabin filter. Looking back now, I realize that this was just a distraction tactic because Daniel never closed the air filter properly.
Around September 15, I started hearing a strange sound whenever I started driving. Then, on Tuesday, October 20, the tire pressure light came on. I took my car to Pete's Auto, and he simply added air to the tires. However, on Monday, November 2, at around 12 pm, while I was stopped at a traffic light, my car suddenly shut off. After four attempts, it finally started again, but it continued to shut off intermittently, and the check engine light came on. I immediately went to Pete's Auto, and he used his computer to check the car. It indicated that air was escaping, so he lifted the hood and asked me who had been under it. I told him it was the Honda people, and that's when he showed me that the air filter was still open. I had been driving for six months with the filter open. Although he did an oil change, it didn't resolve the issue, so he suggested that I go back to Honda.
On November 3, at 11 am, I arrived at McGrath Honda and was greeted by a guy named Alfonso. I explained the situation to him and emphasized that I shouldn't have to pay for this problem. He agreed with me and then got into my car, turned the wheel to the left, and claimed that the tires were no good. According to him, one tire was from 2016 and bald, while the other was from 2015. However, I knew that both tires were used and from 2016, and they were not bald. The only people who had removed the tires in April were the Honda staff when they did the brakes. So, they must have switched the tires, which is why the tire pressure light came on, just to bring me back and point out the tires while closing the air filter. They thought I wouldn't have a clue. This is my fourth Honda, and it's the second time I've experienced sabotage after visiting a Honda Service Center. That's why I try to avoid them. It seems like this is how they make their money, by sabotaging your car. Furthermore, they refuse to fix the strange sound coming from my car.
