I have been a patient with Mercy for years. This past weekend I encountered a lack of communication, concern and care for my situation. A similiar situation happened in March.
I felt a bout of Diverticulitis coming on Thursday August 17th. I triend to schedule an urgent visit with both Dr Tanseem Malik my Primary but was told no appt until Sept 6th. I booked it. I also triend to reach my gastro Dr Richard Desi and his office to me no Urgent visits and October would be soonest I could see him. I left word for both on Friday August 18th via my chart and voicemail and no one ever got back to me.
I ended up reluctantly going to the St Joseph's ER in Towson. I requested my Dr s be informed of the results. St Joseph said based upon diagnosis they should be getting touch to see me in some shape or form. I was given antibiotics. The condition which usually responds to antibiotics is still acute as far as my pain and discomfort. I tried getting though again today to no avail as wait was half an hour + or I was disconnected. I finally got to leave a voicemail for Dr Desi office mid afternoon. I do work FT and so it is not easy for me to be calling and sending messages through the portal. Erin K Woodward 10/06/1965. Very disappointed this year in my care.
Desired outcome: An appointment sooner than later to make sure my scans were read and find out how I can alleviate this discomfort and pain.
