Meredith Lodging Dynamic pricing is customer Gouging !

Recently rented from Meredith Lodging. Rented months advance. Decided to see what the price was listed in real time a week out of the vacation. I was charged double the going rate booking in advance. Called Meredith Lodging to see if it was a mistake. Was told "Dynamic Pricing" was thier policy. So gouging a customer for booking in advance is thier policy. Will never use Meredith Lodging again. Home owners beware. This could have been a yearly rental. One and done now.

Recommendation: Avoid Meredith Lodging

Meredith Lodging Do not rent from Meredith Lodging Oregon Coast

I rented a home in Arch Cape called the Beach Haven managed by Meredith Lodging for myself and 3 friends to enjoy our annual get together. Our stay was to be check in on 10/9/2023 (Monday) and check out on 10/12/2023 (Thursday).

Our excitement about the location of the home right on the beach and in a quaint neighborhood was quickly overtaken by severe allergic reactions of 2 members of our group within the first 30-40 minutes of being in the home. We realized the home had mold issues (not visible) and we immediately (within an hour and 15 minutes) vacated the premises and returned it to the same state we found it in upon entry.

I called Meredith Lodging at 2:13p.m. and explained we could not stay in the home due to severe mold/allergic reactions upon being in the home for less than 1 hour. They seemed understanding and said someone would call me in the next few minutes. No alternative arrangements were offered. No follow up phone call was made by Meredith Lodging.

We had to pay in full for our rental of the Beach Haven in the amount of $1,195.97. I asked for a full refund since we could not stay in the home. It is musty smelling and anyone could verify that. Mold is dangerous and can cause illness.

Meredith Lodging emailed a cancellation confirmation. Further communications beginning the next day ended in Meredith Lodging denying there was any issue and denying any refund of our stay.

We found alternative arrangements at the Waves in Cannon Beach, which fortunately had an opening to accommodate our party.

I would like to file a formal complaint against Meredith Lodging. They should fully disclose the home is musty-smelling in their advertising. Had we known it had moisture issues, and had we known it did not have a gas fireplace as advertised, we would not have rented the home. We knew the home is dated and we had no problem with that, but it was not a place we could rent due to the mold allergies and the breathing problems it caused.

Recommendation: Do not use Meredith Lodging for your vacation rental

Meredith Lodging Unreliable Maintenance and Unprofessional Management: A Disappointing Experience

First off, we had a little hiccup with the lockbox code. No worries, though. We wanted to kick back and watch a movie at the early hour of 10:00 am, but darn it, we couldn't figure out how to get the DVD player to work with the TV. So, I gave management a ring and they asked if Maintenance could swing by while we were out. I quickly shut that idea down and made it clear that no one should enter unless we were there. I requested for Maintenance to give me a call so we could arrange a time to meet up. They assured me that Maintenance would be in touch soon. Well, an hour went by and still no call, so I dialed up management again. The lady on the other end put me on hold while she tried to reach Maintenance. But guess what? Maintenance didn't pick up his phone. Frustrated, I called management three more times over the next three hours. By this point, they had promised me a refund of $100 due to the whole situation.

Finally, after a grueling 4 and a half hours, I got a call from Maintenance. He had the audacity to claim it wasn't his fault and that he had just received the call from management about the TV/DVD problem. It seems like they're all just passing the buck, doesn't it? To make matters worse, he had the nerve to ask if he could enter the rental without me being there. Well, I wasn't at the rental, so I firmly told him no way.

When I returned to the rental, I was shocked to find that the door had been opened and then locked again, all without me being present. I immediately called management to complain, and they had the nerve to tell me that the maintenance guy had peeked through the window and spotted a bong on the table. I quickly clarified that there had been no smoking of anything in the house and even reminded them that marijuana is legal. But guess what? They decided to take back their promise of a $100 discount.

Let me tell you, until this current management team is completely replaced, I will never, ever do business with this company again. They've lost my trust and my business for good.

Meredith Lodging Disgusting and Deceptive: A Warning About 'Once Upon a Tide' Rental in Rockaway Beach

We rented "Once upon a tide" in Rockaway beach through this property mgmt company. What a rip off! Run down! Gross! Stay away! Pictures are very deceiving! Dog crap in front of house, trash, cigarette butts. Back yard is upstairs and so is kitchen, master, living room. Couch has stains on it, chairs are all worn and dirty, furniture is all dated (looks like it was purchased at Goodwill), broken stairs, stains everywhere on carpets, 1 washcloth for all the downstairs bathrooms and old looking bath, musty smelling towels. Sheets dont even8 smell clean. Washed all the towels first before we'd use any of them. Front door and all doors are dirty and so are walls/baseboards. Very old heating system that smells like you're gna get poisoned by the fumes when you turn it on (we had to open the doors to the outsides of the house to be able to breathe and get the fumes out). The "backyard " (if u wanna call it that) sucks and has trash on the ground, the "path to the beach" from the backyard is full of brush so u can't even walk it and not to mention, you will find dog poop in bags along your way. Outdooor chairs are rusty. So disappointed and I'm staying here 2 nights and it wasn't cheap - $900 PER NIGHT. RIP OFF! Beware! I'd like to get my money back. Update - after [protected]@ $2000 for 2 nights and complaining to the mgmt company, all they would do is refund our booking fee of $150. What a joke. They also basically admitted that they're aware of problems at this property and the owner has been notified before, but obviously, they're still renting it for them and collecting the money! Go elsewhere! After reading all the bad reviews (which are probably correct, just like my review, it seems "Theresa " the business mgr of Meredith, answers everything the same with her canned response. I wasn't aware that their website wouldn't let a bad review be posted so I'm glad to have this forum to vent and warn others. Post all your true reviews on every forum possible to shut down these bait and switch liars!

Meredith Lodging Disappointing Rental Experience: Broken Oven, Poor Communication, and Inadequate Refund

We booked a rental home for 12 people for 5 days. Got there and the oven did not work. Called maintenance who were very helpful. They came looked at it said they would be back the next day to replace it. I had spoken to Meredith Lodging 2 days prior to our arrival about an early check in. I had actually talked to multiple people 2 days in a row prior to our arrival. On Saturday when no one came to fix the oven, I called again and was told that 5 days prior to my arrival they sent me an email (which I had never been contacted by email prior to this) stating that the oven didn't work. It was not until Saturday that this email was found in my SPAM folder. I was told that an oven was an amenity (the definition of an amenity would be the pool, hot tub, fireplace, air conditioning, internet, game room, etc.), and that they would not be fixing our oven. Not having this "amenity" caused stress due to some of our meals that we had planned and brought food for not being able to be cooked. We could not eat as a family because we could not keep things warm in the small convection oven that they provided (which did not have a rack in it and we had to use the flimsy drip tray). An appliance should not be an amenity and since they had contacted me by phone for ALL OTHER communication, an email should not have been sent to notify us of this failure to properly maintain appliances. The other thing we ran into is that many of the outlets along the kitchen wall, including upstairs did not work. If the convection oven and microwave were running at the same time fuses would blow. This house was not cheap. Our family gets together once a year to enjoy a week together. It was very disappointing to not have the upkeep on this house as it should have been for as much as we paid. We were given a refund of $139 for the oven. That is RIDICULOUS! For the amount that was paid $139 did not even cover the extra groceries we had to purchase to replace the meals we could not cook. I will NEVER rent from Meredith again, nor would I recommend anyone renting from them.

Meredith Lodging Unsatisfactory Experience with Meredith Lodging: Refusal of Refund and Poor Communication

Never again! Seriously, google "Meredith Lodging reviews" and look at their complaints on Better Business Bureau and you will see I am not the only one. This business is taking advantage of the pandemic and keeping as much money from reservations as they possibly can by hiding behind vague contract references. Do not be fooled by their responses to reviews and their messaging on their website about how "we are all in this together." When it comes to non-public, direct communication, they will not give a straight answer and they will stonewall you with a "sucks to be you" attitude. We reached out to them 60 days ahead of our check-in date because, as essential workers, we already know from our employers we will no longer be available for travel in July. Our group includes a nurse and other emergency response workers. We are working around the clock and doing our part. We tried to do the right thing and be proactive. They could easily issue us a refund, we could part ways, and they could re-list our dates. Instead, they are refusing us a refund and have stopped communicating. I promise you, we have been nothing but polite and reasonable. Booking through AirBnB did not protect us from them.

If we we get a refund (NOT a travel "credit" or future stay voucher that we cannot use), then I will update this review.

Update 5/20: Following our social media outreach attempts, Meredith Lodging did promptly have the right person who could help us reach out and they resolved our issue with a full refund, as requested. For this we are very grateful. We understand they were low staffed and also acknowledge we were in need of an exception that their primary phone and email staff may not have had the authority to provide. We recommend continuing to advocate for what you need. If a travel credit works for you, it seems those are readily available. Once we were in touch with their leadership, their communication was polite, professional and they made solid efforts to repair our previous loss of confidence in their processes. Their PR rep staffing their social media accounts was also responsive and reassuring.

Meredith Lodging Disappointing Luxury Rental: Broken Amenities, Filthy Carpet, and Poor Customer Service

I recently rented one of the "luxury" properties offered by Meredith Lodging in Lincoln City, specifically the "Breakwater Beach House". The house appeared stunning in the photos, but upon arrival, we quickly discovered that everything was in a state of disrepair. The ice machine, screen doors, and closet doors were all broken, and the carpet in the living room was disgustingly filthy. To make matters worse, the so-called "large flatscreen" TV had a distracting line running through the screen, completely ruining the picture quality. It was clear that they had opted for a cheap TV. Additionally, there was no cable available, and accessing Netflix required a frustrating 30-minute ordeal just to log in.

Before our arrival, I had contacted the company to ensure that the propane tank was filled, as we had previously rented another property from them and found an empty tank upon arrival. However, I didn't anticipate having to request that the grill actually function properly. Unfortunately, the igniter was broken, resulting in an entire meal being wasted.

The most laughable part of our experience was the advertisement of heating as one of the amenities. However, we soon discovered that the thermostat in the basement was locked behind a glass case, rendering it inaccessible. It was incredibly frustrating, and the fact that they sent a maintenance person to fix the issue only for him to admit that he didn't have a key for the box was downright comical. We ended up enduring freezing temperatures, with only a thin sheet as a blanket since the top blanket had clearly not been washed. To add insult to injury, the TV in the "master" bedroom didn't even work, and the shades provided no light-blocking capabilities, forcing me to resort to using a shirt to cover my face while sleeping. As if that wasn't enough, an alarm in the living room started blaring at midnight, waking up the kids and causing unnecessary stress. On the second night, our peace was disrupted by a rowdy group partying at the neighboring Meredith Lodging property.

To make matters worse, every dish we pulled out of the cupboards had food stuck to it. And don't even get me started on the towels. Instead of providing two towels per bathroom as one would expect, they only provided one towel that felt more like a rag.

I reached out to the company multiple times during our stay to address these issues, but received no apology or acknowledgement of the problems. It was only when I threatened legal action for their misrepresentations and fraudulent amenities list that I finally received a response. They claimed to be conducting an "inspection" and promised a refund accordingly. If they follow through with their promise and I don't have to resort to reporting this fraudulent company, I will update this review.

Meredith Lodging Disastrous Experience and Negligent Customer Service at Meredith Lodging

I gotta say, I had a real bad time at this place called Meredith Lodging. Me and my fam stayed there not too long ago and let me tell ya, it was a disaster. The fireplace, hot tub, TV, and washing machine were all messed up. They either didn't work at all or barely worked. We tried to get in touch with them, but they were like ghosts, nowhere to be found. Finally, this dude who claimed to be a service technician showed up to fix the washing machine, but they didn't even bother to let us know he was coming. It was a real hassle trying to get ahold of them, and when we finally did, they acted like they didn't care about our problems. I've been trying to get someone from management to talk to me, but it's like pulling teeth.

To make matters worse, we felt really unsafe at the property. Some random guy just waltzed in without any warning. When we told Meredith Lodging about it, they didn't give a hoot. They didn't care about our safety or the fact that it scared the living daylights out of us. Today, I called them to try and sort things out, but the person on the other end had the nerve to tell me I was talking too much and hung up on me. Can you believe that? I was just trying to explain all the issues we had, but they didn't wanna hear it. They didn't even bother to address our safety concerns. It's like they couldn't care less.

I've been trying to get their attention on social media, and while someone on Instagram did reach out to me and promised to contact me tomorrow, they also deleted my comments. What's up with that? I've been reading other reviews, and it seems like a lot of people have had similar problems with Meredith Lodging, and they don't seem to be doing anything about it.

Let me tell ya, based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend booking with Meredith Lodging. I wish I had checked out the Google reviews before making the reservation. It was a big expense for my family, and we're super disappointed. If their customer service had been better and actually taken our concerns seriously, things would be different. But no, they just don't seem to care.

Meredith Lodging Warning: Disgusting and Neglected - Meredith Lodging's Lack of Care and Cleanliness

I wanted to share my experience with Meredith Lodging to warn others, but it seems like I don't need to. The one-star reviews here are overwhelming. This has clearly been happening for a while, so the only conclusion I can come to is that THEY DON'T CARE! This is just how they do things. They're just taking advantage of customers and ignoring the complaints.

Even though many others have already said it, I'll share my own experience.
1) The place was absolutely FILTHY. It was disgusting. And it wasn't just hidden dirt, it was right there in plain sight. Areas that could have easily been cleaned in a couple of minutes were neglected. It was clear that the place hadn't been cleaned at all.

2) The grill was covered in leftover food from the previous guest. We called about it and they said they would send someone to clean it right away, but no one ever showed up and they didn't even bother to follow up. We had to go out and buy a hibachi because we had brought food to grill for both nights.

3) They told us just one day before we arrived that the dishwasher was broken. They acted like it had just happened, but it was obvious that it had been broken for a long time. People had been washing dishes by hand, and not very well. We had to wash all the dishes before using them. Then we left them on the counter because the outside of the cupboards were covered in dirt and grime that hadn't been cleaned off in years. We couldn't even bring ourselves to touch them. I won't even go into detail about how disgusting it was inside the kitchen drawers.

4) This was supposed to be a "pets OK" place. Considering that pets can bring fleas, we were worried about that, especially now that we realized how dirty the place was. To our surprise, the supposedly clean bed linens and towels were thrown unfolded in a messy pile on the floor in the carpeted closet. We started to feel grossed out by the thought of what might be on the bed.

5) Even if it had been clean, the place was falling apart. Baseboards were missing, wood was peeling off the doors. Two of the chairs on the deck were broken, with rusty metal parts sticking out, just waiting for someone to get hurt. And the furniture looked sad and worn out.

We've stayed in over 50 private homes all across the US and Europe, and we've never encountered one as disgusting as this. They have all been clean, or at least close to it, and much cheaper (we paid more for this one than we ever have before). It's not difficult to maintain a certain level of cleanliness. Meredith Lodging doesn't even bother trying, and it's clear they don't care, considering the number of complaints like mine that have been going on for a long time.

Before writing this review, I complained directly to them. I received a generic response telling me they would refund HALF of the cleaning fee (which they still haven't done) and gave me a $75 coupon for our next stay (as if!). Half of the cleaning fee is just pathetic.

Meredith Lodging Horrible Experience with DaySeaCottage and Meredith Lodging: Dishonesty and Greed at its Worst

We stayed at DaySeaCottage in July 2015 rented from meredithlogding and had a horrible experience. After the stay I filled out the review that was requested from the company and I gave it a bad review. I have checked back several times and my review has never been posted to their site. After the horrible experience and poor customer service we received, I shouldn't be suprised they wouldn't post my review, but I didn't think the level of dishonesty and greed would be that great.

We booked our vacation in January of 2015 and checked in to the house in July of 2015. We arrived on a Saturday and checked in at 4pm. We thought the house was great. It had an awesome view of the ocean which is the main reason we rented it as one person in our party was unable to get to the beach. We rented it with two other families. Saturday evening and all day Sunday and Monday we sat out on the ocean side of the house and enjoyed the view. There was no direct beach access from the house, but the view made up for it.

On Tuesday morning we were awoken unexpectedly to construction workers. They brought in supplies to start to build a porch and steps to the beach. Our view was taken up by construction supplies and workers. I immediately called meredith lodging to complain and was told they were unaware the owner had scheduled construction until that morning as the owner did not give any notice (which, by my limited research under Oregon law appears to be illegal.) Despite multiple calls of escalating complaints and a visit to their office, the construction continued for the duration of our "vacation".

We had 2 and 1/2 days of uninterrupted vacation and 4 and 1/2 days of construction supplies, construction trucks, and construction workers. The final offer meredith lodging and the owner gave us was to refund half of our vacation price. Although I laid out the multiple issues we had and the fact that more than half of our vacation was ruined, that is all they would give us.

The selfish owner should never had scheduled construction when the house had been rented in the first place, and the rental company should have either stopped the construction or offered us a different house for the duration of our stay. They should have also offered a larger refund or at least a discount on a future visit to actually use the stairs they were building during our vacation.

This whole situation has been the most frustrating experience of my life and the fact that my review never appeared on their site is the last straw. Please do not rent from meredith lodging which manages beachfront rentals and Seahaven rentals. They do not know what customer service means. Also, please do not rent the DaySeaCottage as the disrespectful and selfish owner does not deserve any income from it. Thank you.

Meredith Lodging Review: Misleading Ad and Disrepair at Whale Watchers Condo 1 - Renter Beware of Meredith Lodging

RENTER BEWARE RE: Meredith Lodging Vacation Rentals or BeachFrontRentals.net are rented "AS IS WHERE IS" meaning if you rent a vacation home from Meredith Lodging based on what you see in the photos or description and the Vacation Home is in disrepair and in very different condition than what was advertised in the photos you will have no recourse and Meredith Lodging will not compensate you. See below for details on our experience.

May 2022 -Review on "Whale Watchers Condo 1" has an amazing view, but furniture is/was in disrepair such that it dramatically reduced the value of our rental and the overall enjoyment of our holiday (see below). Independent of the furniture, "Whale Watcher's Condo" is a fourplex and an old building with very thin walls and ceilings. On the nights when there were people in the unit above us we could hear them walking, moving and talking. I would not recommend this unit if you are looking for peace and tranquility as there are far better options in the area.

What Happened:

This was the third trip my wife and I took to Rockaway Beach. We love the area and have had nothing but good experiences with other management companies and vacation rentals. Our usual spot wasn't available so we tried Meredith Lodging (ML) for the first time. We found an ad on Meredith Lodging's website with beautiful photos of a Vacation Home named "Whale Watchers Condo 1", in Rockaway Beach. The ad's photos showed an amazing view of the ocean, comfortable patio furniture to enjoy the view and a modern looking sofa inside facing the ocean view. We rented this unit for 5 days in May 2022 trusting the ad, reviews and photos. We picked this unit based on the photos and description and envisioned our holiday spending lots of time relaxing and enjoying the view while we chatted and read books over the 5 days.

Upon our arrival we found that some of the advertised key furniture was either destroyed, severely rusted or collapsing to a point where it was no longer comfortable or usable. On the patio, the frame of the wicker sofa was rusted through and had collapsed prior to our arrival making it completely unusable. When I sat in one of the wicker chairs the rusted bottom frame collapsed (FYI - I am 200 lbs) making the chair unusable. The remaining metal bistro set and table were covered in rust and dilapidated, when I briefly sat in one of the rusted hard chairs I stained the back of my white jacket, and I still have not been able to get the stains out yet.

The sofa in the living room looked cosmetically nice but as soon as we sat on the cushions we sank deep into the sofa well past the frame. The sofa was extremely uncomfortable and had minimal structural support with the main support coming from the hard frame pressing on your legs. This condo was advertised as sleeping 4, I do not see how 2 people could comfortably sleep on this sofa. I immediately contacted Meredith Lodging and they were very polite and seemed responsive. Halfway through our stay (2.5 days) the maintenance person moved two plastic patio chairs over from the owner's suite which was the unit beside us. Had I known this was an option I would have done this on day one myself. ML told us they would speak with the owner about replacing the interior sofa upon our departure. The maintenance person also acknowledged the poor condition of the furniture and took photos of it too.

I sent ML my photos of the furniture as well as screen captures of their advertised photos. I did not expect the sofa to be replaced during our stay however, I did expect some financial compensation for the fact that I rented a vacation condo based on photos that were very misleading and we could not enjoy the exterior patio for half our stay nor the interior sofa for our whole stay. They referred me to their contract which states their units are rented "AS IS WHERE IS". I checked their contract and this term is in there, but I expected based on the blatant difference between the photos and condition of the furniture they would take the high road to retain a future customer and avoid loss of good will. They did not and our request for a partial refund for the state of disrepair of furniture and their misleading ad was denied.

So my big takeaway from this experience: When you rent a Vacation Rental from Meredith Lodging "Sight Unseen" online you should not rely upon or trust the photos, description or reviews as being accurate. If what you believe you rented turns out to be in disrepair you will not be compensated. This builds no trust with the online renters whom have no way of independently verifying what they see in the ad as being correct. This is a very poor business practice/model.

Any vacation rental company or vacation home can have repair issues with their units, I understand this is the nature of the business. The difference between a good company/vacation rental unit and bad company/ vacation rental unit is what they do when there is a substantial problem brought to their attention. When given overwhelming evidence of the condo not being what was advertised, Meredith Lodging essentially moved two cheap chairs over from the owner's unit 2.5 days in, and offered nothing else. FYI, upon further research, we found this condo on Airbnb and there were several reviews from other renters regarding the condition of this sofa. I suspect ML and the owner knew about this issue prior to our rental. The owner changing the sofa after our departure does nothing to compensate us nor does it recognize that their advertised photos did not represent the condition of the furniture. ML was polite on the phone but in the end their comments were just lip service.

We love Rockaway Beach and this was our third trip there, but my first time using Meredith Lodging. We will return but we will definitely not be using Meredith Lodging again or staying at the Whale Watcher's Inn.

I would not recommend Meredith Lodging or the Whale Watcher's Inn, there are far better units in the area and better management companies that honour what they advertise.

Meredith Lodging Beware of the Scam: Meredith Lodging aka BeachFrontRentals.net Ruined Our Vacation

Vital photos n info for the place we booked were kept secret from the listing itself. They lied 'bout the place they rented to us n ruined our vacay plan. Watch out for the scam by Meredith Lodging aka BeachFrontRentals.net.

We were lookin' forward to our vacation, ya know? We found this place on Meredith Lodging's website, or should I say BeachFrontRentals.net, 'cause they seem to be the same thing. Anyways, we thought we hit the jackpot, but boy were we wrong!

When we arrived at the property, we were shocked to see that it looked nothin' like the pictures they had on their website. It was like a whole different place! They didn't show us the vital photos and info that would've helped us make an informed decision. It felt like they were hidin' somethin' from us, ya know?

We were so disappointed 'cause we had planned our whole vacation 'round stayin' at this place. It was supposed to be our little slice of paradise, but instead, it turned into a nightmare. We felt cheated and deceived by Meredith Lodging.

I mean, c'mon, if you're gonna rent out properties, at least be honest 'bout what you're offerin'. Don't misrepresent the place and ruin people's vacations. It's just not right, ya know?

So, folks, be careful when dealin' with Meredith Lodging or BeachFrontRentals.net. They might try to pull a fast one on ya and ruin your well-deserved break. Don't fall for their scam like we did. Find a more trustworthy company that actually cares 'bout their customers and delivers what they promise.

In conclusion, Meredith Lodging, or whatever they wanna call themselves, let us down big time. They withheld important info and showed us a completely different property than what they advertised. The kitchen pipes were all frozen and they didn't do nothin' 'bout it, had to leave early and they've ghosted us 'bout a proper refund. I ain't never gonna use this company again! Obviously the MT. Hood office and manager Cari couldn't care less 'bout their customers or any repeat business. Stay clear of Meredith Lodging!

I gotta say, my experience with Meredith Lodging was a real disappointment. The kitchen pipes were frozen solid, and when we reached out for help, they didn't lift a finger to fix the issue. We had no choice but to cut our stay short and head on out.

But that ain't the worst part, my friend. We've been tryin' to get a proper refund, but it's like they vanished into thin air. They ain't respondin' to our messages or calls, leavin' us high and dry. It's downright frustrating, I tell ya.

I reckon I won't be givin' this company another chance. It's clear as day that the folks at the MT. Hood office, especially manager Cari, don't give a hoot 'bout their customers or makin' 'em happy. They couldn't care less 'bout repeat business or keepin' folks satisfied.

Meredith Lodging Disappointing Customer Service and Inflexibility with Accommodating Additional Guests

We originally booked our stay with Seaside Vacation Rentals back in January. However, in April, we received an email informing us that the company had been switched to Meredith Lodging. Naturally, we had some concerns and decided to give them a call to discuss the number of people allowed in the rental.

To our disappointment, the person on the other end of the line seemed rather inflexible. We had three additional kids joining us, which exceeded the stated limit. The representative bluntly informed us that these three kids would not be able to accompany us, as everyone needed a bed. We suggested bringing air mattresses to accommodate the extra guests, but she flatly refused.

Now, here's where things get a bit confusing. The rental property we had reserved boasted six bedrooms and had the capacity to accommodate up to 15 people. If two people were to share each room, that would only amount to 12 individuals. So, where were the other three people supposed to go? Unfortunately, the representative offered no assistance or alternative solutions to help us figure this out.

As a returning customer, I must say that this experience has left a sour taste in my mouth. I had planned on coming back in the future, but now I can confidently say that I will never be returning to Meredith Lodging.

Meredith Lodging Terrible Customer Service and Lack of Support During COVID-19 - A Disappointing Experience with Meridith Lodging

I had to pick a star, but if I could, I wouldn't give them ANYTHING. This company has been terrible to deal with. They think that offering you a credit to stay within the year of 2020 is enough. Well, it's not. They aren't even offering credit to stay the same time the following year. It's not just big companies that are losing money. It's people like my family who are self-employed and don't have unemployment insurance, and due to this COVID-19, we have to shut down. We need extra money to pay our mortgage now, more than the people who own million-dollar homes on the beach as rental properties. Meridith Lodging isn't doing their part to help society with this epidemic. I WILL NEVER use them again after this.

Meredith Lodging Disappointing Experiences and Lack of Compassion: A Warning about Meredith Lodging

We've had two experiences with Meredith Lodging and let me tell you, both were a real letdown. We went ahead and booked a vacation rental house a whole year in advance, thinking we were all set and ready to go. But guess what? Just a month or so before our trip, we get an email saying that the house we had our hearts set on was suddenly not available. Can you believe it? We had to scramble and do our own research to find another place, and on top of that, we had to change our dates. Talk about a hassle!

And let me tell you, things didn't get any better when we had to cancel our reservation for October. With all the craziness going on with COVID-19 and some family issues, we just couldn't make it happen. You'd think that in these sad and difficult times, Meredith Lodging would show a little sympathy, right? Well, think again! They couldn't care less about our situation. I even asked to speak to the manager, but she wouldn't even give me the time of day. Instead, she just passed messages along to her worker. Talk about a lack of compassion!

To top it all off, they had the audacity to charge us a whopping $230 for not being able to go on our much-needed vacation. Can you imagine? It's absolutely heartbreaking when you see so many people out there showing kindness and understanding during these tough times, and then you come across a company like Meredith Lodging who just doesn't seem to care.

So, my friends, let this be a warning to you all. If you're thinking about booking with Meredith Lodging, think twice. Meredith Lodging Disappointing Experience at Meredith Lodging: Parking Mishap, Uncomfortable Furniture, and No Beach Access

I arrived at the Meredith Lodging just a little bit before 4pm, all ready to settle into my space for a relaxing vacation. But, oh boy, what a start it was! Can you believe it? The cleaners had gone and parked their stuff right in front of my space! I mean, seriously? I had to call the main office to sort this out, but guess what? They couldn't even get a hold of the cleaners! Can you imagine the frustration? But, hold on, they did call me back after we were supposed to check in and told me that the cleaners had finished the room a long time ago. Yeah, right! I saw them in there when I pulled up!

Anyway, I managed to unload my car and tried to get inside, but guess what? No key in the lockbox! Can you believe my luck? However, the door was open, so I thought, why not just go in and wait for the key? After about ten minutes, the cleaners came in and told me that they needed to get me a key because the other cleaner had taken it. Can you believe the mix-up? So, there I was, waiting for over a half hour just to get my hands on that precious key, all so I could go and grab a bite to eat.

Now, let's talk about the furniture. Oh boy, was it uncomfortable! I mean, seriously, I couldn't even find a cozy spot to relax in. It was like sitting on a rock! Not exactly what I had in mind for a vacation, you know? And to make matters worse, there was absolutely no beach access! Can you believe it? Apparently, there's been some erosion issue going on for ages, and they haven't bothered to fix it. So, if you're looking to enjoy the beach, forget about it. It's more than a mile away, and even then, it's not safe to get there.

And here's another thing they conveniently forgot to mention - this place is not a house as they depicted it. Nope, it's a townhouse! And let me tell you, you'll get to listen to all the noise and banging around from your neighbors all night long. Not exactly the peaceful getaway I had in mind.

So, all in all, my experience with Meredith Lodging was far from satisfactory. From the parking mishap to the uncomfortable furniture and lack of beach access, it was just one disappointment after another. I wouldn't recommend this place if you're looking for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation.

This company don't really care anything about whether it has repeat clients or not. It gets listings for Oregon coast rentals among its many clients. Almost a year in advance I booked a full 4th of July week at a coastal rental. When I canceled more than six months before our trip (December for a July vacation) they insisted on keeping 30% of the full rental price. So essentially, I had to pay them almost $3,000 for a vacation that I will never go on. They also kept 30% of the cleaning fee, 30% of the pet fee, and 30% of the government taxes that would have been paid to the local government if I had actually stayed there. Do you know what they are going to do with this money? Yup, you got it. They are going to put it in their greedy little pockets. Clearly, they are not concerned with getting repeat business from you or anyone else, steer clear and use a more reliable company with a more customer-friendly refund policy.

Meredith Lodging Disastrous Booking Experience: Salt Water Faucets, Lack of Essential Items, and Broken Amenities

Oh boy, where do I even begin with this booking? Let me tell you, it was a real mess. The worst part? Salt water in all the faucets. Can you believe it? I mean, who wants to wash their hands with salt water? Luckily, we had some time to spare before the stores closed for the holidays, so we rushed out and bought ten whole gallons of water. Phew, crisis averted. But seriously, what if we had arrived just one day later? Disaster!

Now, let's talk about this house. It's seriously lacking in some essential items. I mean, come on, only three wine glasses for six adults? That's just not gonna cut it. And don't even get me started on the lack of serving bowls. Christmas dinner was a real struggle, let me tell you. Actually, any dinner would have been awkward without those bowls. And don't even think about using the knives they provide. They're so dull, they're practically dangerous. Thank goodness I had the foresight to bring my own.

But wait, there's more! The cupboards were filled with filthy pots and roasting pans. I mean, who wants to cook with dirty cookware? Not me, that's for sure. And let's not forget about the bedding. It was so thin, it might as well have been non-existent. No duvets, just coverlets. Fine for summer, but absolutely terrible for winter. We had to scrounge up some old fleece blankets, but even those didn't do the trick. Brrr, it was chilly.

Oh, and did I mention the pellet fire? Yeah, that thing didn't work. And to top it all off, the hot tub decided to stop working halfway through our stay. Talk about a disappointment. Needless to say, we won't be using this company ever again. It's clear they just don't care about their customers. So long, Meredith Lodging. You won't be seeing us again.

Meredith Lodging Warning: Fraudulent Business Alert! Meredith Lodging's Untrustworthy Practices and Refusal to Refund Amidst COVID-19

Fraud, fraud, fraud! This shady business, Meredith Lodging, is not to be trusted! We made a reservation for a house through VRBO, but guess what? Meredith Lodging canceled our booking because of COVID-19 and now they refuse to give us our money back. We've been trying to reach a manager on the phone, but all we get is some person emailing us, demanding an extra $2000 for a future stay.

We thought we could use our credit towards another house on VRBO, but nope, only Meredith Lodging allows that.

According to their policy, they won't give any refunds or compensation if the property becomes unavailable (or even if it's available but hard to reach) due to reasons beyond their control. These reasons include things like bad weather, natural disasters, mechanical failures, government actions, or power outages. They suggest that guests get travel insurance, just in case. And get this, if something unexpected happens, they can either move you to a similar property, cancel your stay altogether, or give you a credit for a future stay.

Basically, they can cancel on you for any reason, change your dates for any reason, and they don't have to give you a refund. And guess what? This information isn't clearly stated on the VRBO website.

Seriously, folks, go with AirBnB instead. At least with them, you have some protection as a consumer!

Meredith Lodging Disappointing Experience with Meredith Lodging: Lack of Communication and Unresolved Issues

Our experience with Meredith Lodging was, like, totally disappointing, you know? We had, like, two separate vacations planned and stuff. But, like, two days before our first rental, they hit us up with a message saying they had to cancel our stay. Can you believe it? The homeowners, like, removed the property from their agency or something. And get this, they didn't even offer us an alternative! We were totally left hanging, man. It was, like, super frustrating, especially 'cause they didn't even seem sorry about it. I mean, come on!

Anyway, I thought maybe it was just a one-time thing, you know? So, we still went ahead with our next stay. But guess what? The hot tub was, like, totally broken! It was ice cold, man. And that's not all, dude. There were a few other things in the house that didn't work either. We were, like, so bummed out. We called them right away to complain about the hot tub 'cause that was, like, the main reason we rented the place. The person we talked to said it had been reported broken a couple of days earlier and promised to give us an update. But guess what? No update, man. Can you believe it? We stayed there for, like, five days and nobody even bothered to come and check it out. It was, like, a total letdown.

And you know what's even worse? Meredith Lodging didn't seem to care at all about fixing the problem or making it up to us. I mean, we called them, like, a bunch of times and they just didn't seem interested. It was, like, they didn't give a darn about customer satisfaction once they had our money. Can you believe that? I even asked to speak with a manager 'cause we had, like, back-to-back disappointing experiences, but the rep was all like, "Sorry, dude, I don't have a manager." It was, like, they didn't even care about our concerns, man.

So, my advice to you, my fellow vacation seekers, is to, like, totally avoid Meredith Lodging. There are, like, so many other awesome properties out there, you know? Don't waste your time and money on a company that doesn't give a hoot about you. Find a different company to rent through, man. Trust me, you'll be way happier that way.
