Michael Hill International Diamond cluster earrings

December of 2023 we went into Michael Hill at Yorkdale mall.

I purchased diamond cluster earrings in a 10 karat gold setting for my wife.

Total carat weight 1 carat.

By the end of February one of the butterflies completely shattered and we found pieces of it on the floor but we did not find the earring.

Michael Hill refuses to do anything about it although it's a quality issue with their product.

I can provide photos of the broken butterfly which caused the earring to fall out.

Michael Hill International 10kt glitter band earrings yellow gold

Purchased 10.01.2021 for my daughter.

The glitter band stuck to the earrings have peeled and the glitter almost all faded off.

I have returned them to Hervey Bay Michael Hill and they were sent away to be fixed. After some time I was contacted to say they could not be fixed and nothing more could be done, no replacement or reimbursement.

I was told I should have received information on them when I purchased them regarding keeping them out of water as they had a sparkle tape attached, but I never got this. I would not have bought them if I had known this was sticky tape.

Desired outcome: They are unusable at the moment. I would like some sort of replacement please

Michael Hill International My wedding band and the manager

I went to Micheal hill north bay back close to December and the manager told me my paper work was filled out showing I had always checked my diamonds and refused to send it away to replace the diamond that fell out. She told me she could send to be dipped but not the diamond replaced even though I have a lifetime warranty on the ring and diamond care. I went in today to have the ring dipped and was told that it wasn't my ring. That I had purchased the ring from someone who worked there and that I wouldn't be allowed to use the policy.? Wtf. My friend/family worked there and had given the family discount on my wedding band. I have had this ring checked and sent every 6 months since Sept 2019. Until this new manager came and now refuses to service the ring. We paid for the ring. The care plan and the diamond plan. Step up and take responsibility Micheal hill. Your manager in north bay should not be there as she is costing you business. I will be reporting to the better business burrow as well.. this is [censored].

Michael Hill International Wedding ring

I bought my wedding band from a Michael Hill in Ontario Canada, it was bought in October 2020. It sat in a box for over 2 years until my husband and I finally got married this year in August,

I was very upset when only having worn it for two months before one of the diamonds went milky white. I called the original store I got the ring from and the employee who answered the phone was very impolite and rude towards me for asking about how my ring could have gone from being perfectly clear to having turned milky white over night.

I have never been so unhappy with how my ring could have gone white, and nobody could give me a reason for it other than it cracked.

I am very disappointed in how everything was handled, I will not be recommending this store to anyone or buying anything from this store ever again. Very disappointed in the employees and how everything has been handled.

Michael Hill International Customer service

On October 1, 2022, I visited Michael Hill, Orchard Mall, Kelowna, BC, Canada. It was between 3:30-5:00 PM (as I do not recall the specific time). The purpose of my visit was to pick up my stacker ring, which I requested to get resized. When I got there, I got assisted by a woman (who seems like a Russian with her accent). When she handed me the ring, it was not resized at all. She mentioned that it was just sent out to do a total cleaning (which I don’t mind at all). She was unsure what she needs to do as the request was sent wrong, and the resizing request was not done, so she approached PETER.

She asked how she will send it out, but he didn’t respond professionally to the miscommunication that happened. He asked me “who did you request this resizing to?” I told him, Miki. Then he started murmuring in an insulting way. I didn’t even recall what is the exact words he said, but as far as I remember, it is something like.. “we need to send it out again, and Miki should stop doing [censored]ty things.. Ooppss! I said a bad word (laughing covering his mouth)” while talking to the Russian lady.

I immediately asked for his name from his co-worker, so I can write a review about my experience that day! I don’t mind about the wrong requests! Because I can wait, and I just live 5 mins away from the mall! but Peter’s attitude and arrogance is so annoying! I was assisted by Miki, Louie, and Brett before, but I never had this kind of experience. This is my first time having an interaction with him, even if I always see him there every time I stop by.

I am writing this complaint as a loyal customer of Michael Hill. The quality of your product is amazing! But the attitude and professionalism of your workers should be watched. The salesperson's interaction with every customer is very important regardless of the purpose of their visit. I hope you can take immediate action against this kind of attitude. Not a good reflection for your company for sure!

Desired outcome: Disciplinary Action should be taken!

Michael Hill International Ripped off on engagement ring

Was sold a ring that I was told was “the exact same” one my fiancé wanted after showing them pictures of it that my fiancé sent a year before my visit to the store. That ring was originally $6000 and so the store told me it was on sale at around $2800. I was going to buy it before being told it’s a different one, going for $4400 now, but they’ll honour the same price of $2800 as that’s what I expected.

Came to find out the ring was not the same one as the original $6000 one and so I came in to refund it. I had sent it for sizing already but I called multiple times to see if they can send it back but it was already sized. After that, the manager told me I couldn’t exchange it even though I’m within my 30 days and was duped on the price. Spoke to regional manager and they mentioned my fiancé can only get an exchange because the sale matters more at a point than making the customer happy (all of which I have on a recording), as well as saying they can only

Exchange it so they can make money and take less of a loss. What happened to customer experience? I’ll never see the ring the same and will not be using Michael hill again.

Michael Hill International My engagement ring

October 2020, my middle diamonds broke off when I was out. I contacted Michael Hill starting October 2020 and have been since then. I was recently told June 2021 by Jamie I will get a refund and takes 2-3 weeks. Jamie also asked for my bank info and I provided. It is now October 2021 and I still have no refund snd a broken ring I cannot wear. I contacted Helzberg snd they said this is Michael Hills problem. Jamie will not call me back or respond to my emails. I feel I am being blown off. It's been an entire year of me trying to get a resolution and 4 months waiting for my refund. I want my full refund of my engagement ring!

Purchased Engagement ring and wedding band in September 2019 costing around $9, 000 3 weeks later saw that diamonds were falling out, luckily I have the warranty and sent for repairs. Hi we recently went into our local Michael hill to get a repair done, the service we received from a Kelly was extremely rude, her attitude towards us was very abrupt & purely arrogant we were made to feel less important & that we were wasting her time! My wife & I drove a fair distance just to be made to feel like crap maybe if we were buying more stuff she may have been quiet the opposite however as a small business owner you treat everyone with the same respect, if she was working for me I'd be definitely be giving her a warning or even tell her to leave attitude speaks volumes in this society

Bought ring to Michael Hill (Parkplace, Lebridge Alberta), size of the ring is 7 and requested to resize 6.5. After few week ring return but the shape of the ring is not the same.

Went to Michael Hill (Chinook Mall, Calgary Alberta) to increase the size of the shank to thicken the band. The ring return but the spark is not the same, Michael Hill company mark is gone.

Michael Hill International morganite engagement ring

I purchased a morganite ring with my partner for our engagement ring. I fell in love with the ring and was encouraged to purchase by the sales persons especially because this ring was on sale at the time. We never purchased the ring at the time and it went back to the full price of $1799 but when the time was right we purchased the ring. Only two weeks later it seemed to be quite dirty and cloudy looking, I brought it in and the sales people told me it would need to be sent away to be cleaned properly. At this stage I just thought the ring had become dirty and perhaps I needed to take more care. After cleaning it, it came back looking beautiful, but since that one time it has just become worse and worse looking cloudy, yellow and even cracked looking in the centre. I have spoken to the store and they have told me their instore cleans cannot help my morganite ring at all and whilst I do have a lifetime warranty I am only eligable to have my ring cleaned once a year. I have only had this ring for 7 months and I re approached the store again, asking what I can do about my ring and how unhappy I am with it. They told me that I should never have been sold a morganite ring as an engagement ring as it is a soft stone and it is going to go cloudy after a couple of weeks, it will never look how it does in store. I asked if I could perhaps have the stone changed and I was told this is not something that Michael hill does for their customers but if I was to change it elsewhere it would void my lifetime warranty. I was plain and simply asked to my shock " Does this ring have sentimental value to you?" These sales people knew this was my engagement ring and then said I am better off to just purchase another different ring and have that in its place. I am heartbroken, that my partner and I spent our savings on something that was supposed to be so special to us and I am now too embarrassed to even show anyone, whenever someone asks to see my ring I say "Oh sorry it's really dirty it needs cleaning, " when in actual fact I know this is how it will look always, something I am supposed to admire and be proud of has been taken from me because I was never told this ring is not suitable for everyday wear. The sales people in my store asked for my name and number and said " I'll see what we can do for you, they said their heartbroken for me that this was sold to me and it shouldn't have happened but I will just have to put it away and buy another one, " I never heard back from the store and as I said above, am nothing short of heartbroken.

Michael Hill International refusal to provide copies of purchased appraisal and lifetime warranty

Over a few months we purchased (4) pieces of jewelery from Michael Hill.
The engagement ring and wedding band was purchased with a lifetime warranty and full appraisal. Total of $390.30 for the warranty and appraisal. Now that this location is closed, I called the headquarters in Australia to get a copy of these.
No one will assist and no one returns phone calls.
I have my receipts and all necessary papers showing I paid for these documents.
These should be available at their headquarters in Australia...even if the U.S. stores are closed!
If not, I'd like my $390.30 refunded to me promptly!
Seems they are folding up shop and taking everyone's money with them! I guess there won't be any "lifetime" warranty...horrible!

Michael Hill International quality/customer service

My husband had purchased my ring in October of last year and within the first 6 months it needed to be repaired 3 times as the diamonds kept falling out. The salesman told me it was because I slept with my ring on and it rubbing on my sheets would damage the ring? Fast forward to this year, we were told if we ordered my husbands wedding band it would be in within 6 weeks. The 6 weeks came and went, no one called us. I called and was told it had been delayed and it should only be a couple more weeks. I again, called 2 weeks later as no one from the store had contacted me. The girl on the phone had no idea what I was talking about and I left a message for the salesman that ordered the ring to call me. No one called me back, I then had to drive 40 minutes to the store to find out what was going on. By this time, our wedding had already taken place and we had to buy a fake ring to stand in as his actual ring still hadnt come in. The salesman was in and assured me that it would be in the following Thursday or Friday. Again, I waited, still no one contacted me so the friday night I called the store again to inquire because he told me it would be in by then, and again had to leave a message for him to call me. Finally got a call back a week later telling me the ring wouldnt be in now until mid July. This is 17 WEEKS after we originally ordered the ring. How is this acceptable. And why is it my responsibility to keep checking up. I should be informed of any delays and I wasnt. We didnt have his ring for the wedding. I wrote the customer service department on their website about all this and they assured me someone would be in contact with me. I had to email twice as no one got in contact with me. Then finally I received a voicemail last Tuesday from a man from Toronto, I called him back an hour later and left him a message to call me back. It is now the following Monday and he has yet to return my phone call. How is this an acceptable way to treat customers?

I really don't know what kind of a game Micheal Hill is playing with their customers from my understanding of what I have read online if you are not happy with your purchase you have 30 days to get a full refund now each time I have gone in to get a refund for my purchase they said you can only exchange it for something that's more money it was within the 30 days now I don't know what kind of game this is but you do not argue with the customer and refuse to return the customers money and force the customer to spend more money if all he wanted was a refund this happened many times at your location in Willowbrook Mall in Langley by Tammy

Wow - this is bad news as we have had serious problems with the Willowbrook Mall location in Langley! An engagement ring keeps loosing stones, needs multiple repairs, then we had to picked another ring. Of course only equal or greater value. That ring is falling apart, and the circus continues. I think we will have to go to the Better Business Bureau and court.

I'm disgusted with this company. They lied to us and now left us to deal with problems. No one is willing to help! Absolutely horrible service! I have contacted them multiple times, cried on the phone, no one cares! Asked for a manager 3 times in a time span of 6 days! Was told I would get a call within 48 hours, never happened. This is the worst company ever. Will be taking this company to the news outlets to express my issues since they won't listen directly! NEVER SHOP WITH MICHAEL HILL! They will rip you off and make you cry over your decision!

The financial department has done nothing! No one has helped me at all! No arrangements have been made. All your company does is lie! Your company is a scam. All you do is make customers feel stupid and make them feel that it’s their fault. Your company needs to hold responsibility for their mistakes!

Hi there Zafira … I am with you … Nobody wants to listen … if anything they want to keep what they have made out of you. I too am not happy with the service … for me they wont cancel my order … I get the feeling that I am suppose to go read the policies … before I return things … even when there are 30 day returns around … but to return other [censored] or cancel I cant … because it says in the Michael Hill website … so Yes like you … I am taking this to the Media... and face book … on their feed back page … and don't even think about telling me that my inbox is full … [censored] ...

Michael Hill International customer service, ring repair

The store opened 15minutes late and while I was waiting outside I could see and hear the staff laughing and having a "meeting". Keep in mind I was on my way to work and had read the store hours were 9am opening, so by this time I was already miffed.. I got into the store at 9:14am and when I presented my new (less than 2 months old) engagement ring that had become mis-shaped and I am unsure why, I was made to feel like it was my fault and further made to feel embarassed that I did not have the care plan paperwork.. I provided the certificate of authenticity and warranty as that is all my fiancee had given me. It states that everything is covered for the next 3 years and the diamonds have a lifetine gurantee provided I have my ring checked 6monthly. The person that served me insisted that I gove her care plan paperwork.. I did not purchase the ring as it is obviously and engagement ring so I was unaware of any paperwork and pointed out the warranty paperwork that I had already provided. Another clerk cane and looked up the number on my certficate on the database and found that it was all covered. I wasnt going to pay 140$ that the previous clerk had quoted on a brand new ring! I was dealt with extremely rudely and have been left feeling like I do not want to go back, I will because I need to for my ring but I can assure you we will not be purchasing our wedding bands from this store, absolutely not!
I have worked in retail myself, namely in a jewelry store and would never dream of treating a customer how I was treated!

Michael Hill International stud earrings with created white sapphire in sterling silver

My boyfriend brought me these earrings for my birthday in december 2018 it's now february 2019 and the stud has completely snapped in half. I find this a complete joke as i've never had this issue with any other earrings. I awoke to find the stem of the earring had broken off from the stud itself and had got stuck in my ear, had to attend the doctors to have it removed.
