negligence and theft
I went to file a case against MiWay this past Saturday on negligence and theft at Villeria SAPs. Its REF: CAS257/5/2018. Station.
The case stems from the collection of my car by Precision Motors which Miway indicated should be delivered to Brooklyn Motors. I followed the tow truck until car dropped. This was on the 18th. April 26 when I went to collect my car, I discovered that my items were missing which are at a value of around 8, 200 Rand. I have the receipts as I bought the items in China. I informed the Miway claims person, and Brooklyn Motors, and wrote a letter, several emails. Even called today and was put on the run around. Mi-Way is the one with a contract with Brooklyn Motors and should have my things returned or the police case will follow with a law suit on item theft and negligence
Mi-Way insurance is responsible to collect my items from the company it uses to service its cars and took my car to, Brooklyn Motor Lab. I have filed a police case againt Mi-Way so either my things are returned or my money paid, R8, 200

accident claim
I was involved in a car accident on the 15th of March 2018, a van veered me off the road and I actually felt like it hit me. a Miway assessor came on Monday the 26th of March to assess the accident scene. I told him upon arrival that I had not been back to the scene ever since the accident and I am not sure of the actual end point since it was dark at night and it happened very quickly. When we got to the scene I gave my version of the scenario, he couldn't make sense of the scene as there has been a lot of rain and the grass has grown minimizing visibility of what actually happened. He then called the towing truck company to show him where the car landed, after they came he said he needs to move a bit to the left to see if it is not that side, he did so and appeared to be where the incident occurred. when the car veered of it rubbed against a street pole and proceeded to where it crashed. After finding the actual scene he now started acting as if I lied about the accident and wants to force me that I was drunk prior the scene. He says there's no signs of the other car touching my car and I must have been driving morethan the speed limit. After taking his report and no longer talking to me, he goes to neighbours that I am not even talking to, to get information about me. He then before even leaving told me that he is going to decline the claim. this was my first ever car accident since obtaining my licence in 2007, it was a shocking experience for me and this assessor made my situation worse as I feel like I am being victimised. He was very rude and misunderstanding

On the 29th of January I sent Abe brokers my cancellation letter, attached with my new policy letter from first for women (that wail start 1st march 2018), to give my 30 day notice at Midway . I phoned midway several times to confirm that my policy was canceled seeing as I did not want to pay two insurances . They confirmed more than once that it was canceled . On the 24th of February Midway debited my account although my policy was canceled . I phoned miway and told them that it is unexceptable and asked them why they took money from my account . the lady told me that she can see that my cancelation letter was sent to them but my policy was not canceled on their side . i told her that my new policy should debit my account and there is no money in my account for it to go of. she simply told me that they will have to do a refund that can take up to 7days . i told her i do not have time to wait and she told me to reverse the debit order from the bank but my itc will be harmed . this made me so mad because i followed the procedures of canceling my policy . i told the lady to make sure the policy is canceled and that they are no longer allowed to debit my account . i took the risk and reversed the debit order seeing as i had no other choice . last night on the 28th of February i received a sms stating that my payment was not received and that my car is not insured until 31st of march . this is telling me that the policy stil was not canceled and that they will try to debit my account again on the 31st of march . this is totaly not exceptable ! i have never struggled this much in my life ..what a bad experience ! i did not break a contract . i followed the procedures to cancel but now its going to look bad on my itc, i need this policy to be canceld and i need a confirmation letter to confirm it !i work all day and do not have time to phone miway every time or to spend time on my phone when they phone me .

I am a new client with miway, my policy should commence 1 march 2018 and same day debit order... I have been trying for 3 yes three weeks to cancel this policy...
I recorded my conversation where they say they can't assist with cancellations due to high call volumes... Why in the first place does midway have high call volumes for cancellations? Means other poor saps struggle to get service exactly like I am?
I asked to speak to the call center agents supervisor, after 5 mins of holding on he replied: sorry only the cancellations department can assist... His supervisor didn't want to even speak to me... A midway clienty!

As I was given Bridget Mohlahlo to assist me with the claims process, I feel like She is unable to assist me or She is no help to me. Because everytime I call her, she is always saying the senior assessor is still busy with my claim and will get back to me as soon as he is done with the assessment. I even asked her to give me the contacts of the senior assessor which she gave them to me 0769414282/011 990 0174JP van der Berg. JP van der Berg is the guy I met on monday (29/01/2018) at promenade mall as we had an appointment and He requested that we should rather go into my house. We went to where I am staying, and we had a formal chat about the accident, at that time he had his laptop, typing while we were chatting and before we started the chat, he showed me a device which he said it was a recording device and asked permission to record as it is required by Miway according to him, permission was given. So after the chat we went to the spot where the accident happened and the places that revolves the day of the accident. JP van der Berg even asked for the contact numbers of the people I made contact with on the day of the accident. Afterwards he came to drop me at my place, asked me to log on with my email address on his laptop so that he can be able to track my location on the day of the accident. Before he left, he said he was gonna go around my neighbours and ask them about me and he will come and say goodbye, offwich he did so. After he left, my neighbours whom he spoke with, asked me what did I do? Am I in trouble? Apparently he even showed them a picture of my smashed vehicle. Im exposed to my neighbourhood, they don't know my personal life but he was transparent to them. I never received feedback from him since the day we met till I phoned him today, to find out about how far is the claim. He could not give me the exact day on when is the claim going to be finalised. Saying there are things he need to follow up, in some of my neighbours he couldn't find anyone so he need to go back, he need to get track report from my tracker and accident report from the police station, offwhich I fail to understand why he still dont have that information. So strange that he managed to investigate about me without my consent, like, he asked me, why did I renew my PrDP, where did he get that? Or is the traffic department able to give my information to anyone requesting it without my permission? JP van der Berg requested for my girlfriend's ID no. And she refused to give it to him. When I joined miway, I was asked if, have I ever been appointed to be a regular driver by any insurance and it was a yes because I was appointed as a regular driver for my girlfriend's car at badget insurance. Shortly after my girlfriend refused to give him her identity number, she received a call from this no.[protected], a lady claiming to be working for badget insurance, thanking her for being a loyal customer, advertising something that she needed to reply a yes or a no, also claiming to know her as the owner of the toyota avanza, and she said she was not interested and the lady rudely disconnected the call. According to my girlfriend, she never received a rude call from badget insurance incase any call from badget insurance.
VERY POOR SERVICE FROM MIWAY... I do not recommend Miway to anyone. I've been going thruogh complaints people have with miway. If it has to go public LET IT BE

I have claimed for my laptop that broke. It was insureds for R9080 and something. I requested a claimscard and i only got R5700 and something.
Why do i pay the amount to insure my stuff for a spicific amount and when i claim for it i get less out.

bad service / false advertising
I was called by Miway on the 26th October and spoke to a lady called Petunia. She wanted to "sell" me insurance that in the event they could not beat my current premium, they would pay me R400. Naturally i agreed and was then transferred to Zandisile who proceeded with the quote.
At the end, the gentleman's quote could not beat my current quote and i told him this. Then he was about to put the call down when i stopped him to remind him about his supposed R400.
He said i had to send through my policy schedule to [protected]@miway.co.za and they would then pay me my R400 within 4 days. I submitted my policy schedule approximately 4 times without a single reply or any feedback.
On the 31st October i called in to find out what happened to my R400 and was put through to Llewellyn who claimed that nothing had been done or thats what it showed on my profile. He then said he would contact Zandisile to call me back to find out. Each time Llewellyn called me back to find out if i was contacted, i said no.
Yesterday he called again and again i denied receiving any feedback from Zandisile. I urged him to please escalate it to his supervisor seeing as this was not a big deal to give me feedback. Regrettably i was still not contacted.
Today i received a call from someone at Miway to ask if my experience was pleasant. I laughably disagreed explaining my course of events. He went on to check my profile now claiming my quote was less than what Zandisile told me.
I said in all honesty, after the week i have had with your insurance company, i would certainly not consider coming to you. But i still want my R400 i was promised. (They were welcome to check the phone conversation to confirm i am telling the truth). But this consultant now says, "we'll ave to see".
So first i beat the quote, follow through, get ignored and then you change my quote to avoid my payout? Very deceitful!

the repairs to my car by bradbury panel beater in polokwane
I was involved in an accident on 21.06.2017. My car was fixed incompletely by Bradbury panel beater in Polokwane. My car was returned to me with faults. I drove the car to Pretoria and could never come back with it because the gears could not be activated. I have communicated with Palesa to have my car fetched from Pretoria. The reason for not collecting the car was because it was not easy to get hold of my son Khutso. I have been in Pretoria myself since Monday 09.10.2017 and tried to contact Palesa whose number has been on voice mail ever since. I see this as a way for MiWay to avoid completion of my car. I am deciding to appoint a mechanic of my own to fix my car. I will also get a panel beater who will fix the incomplete job done by Bradbury. I will then involve the consumer ombudsman and the public on this matter. I am a very unhappy customer who has been alliterated by MiWay. My ID number is [protected] and my car registration number is BNX 281 L. I wonder what happens when the car is assessed following the accident at MiWay. It is very much worrying and disappointing. I so much regret to have joined the family of MiWay insurance.

I submitted a claim for a house burglary on 21/04/2017 which up till today has not been resolved, the assessor is avoiding my calls when I call customer care, they inform me that another assessor is working on my claim but they cannot give me his contact details and I must wait to be called. Its well over a month since the claim and Miway is dodging me after doing the investigation, I am shocked at this outrageous behavior from a Reputable Company, this is appalling service from Miway, they only provide good service when it comes to getting your business but when it comes time for them to pay, they delay as long as possible. Miway does not have to beg me each month for my Premium because its always on time but they making me hassle to get paid out and without our money they would be out of business, I reached my limit and have no other avenues of getting Miway to resolve my claim
horrible service on claims
I submitted a claim with MiWay for my vehicle that was broken into where my radio was stolen. The facts are that the radio was not factory fitted and I did not stipulate it seperately on my policy so my claim was rejected which I have no other choice but to accept.
What I cannot accept is the horrible way in which MiWay has dealt with this claim. It took 3 phone calls just to get my "consultant" on the line once the claim was submitted to discuss it. I was informed then that an assessor will have to come and assess the vehicle. Another 3 days passed with no assessor showing face or making contact with us. I again followed up with Miway and was promised an assessor will come to see us the next day.
He did show up but was extremely rude in his way of working and feedback was that we are waisting our time with this claim. He promised to submit his report that same day to Miway.
Another 5 days past with no feedback from Miway. I tried to phone my consultant and got a voicemail service, I emailed and got no response. I complained on another platform and emailed again the next day only to get a phone call saying sorry but the claim has been rejected.
I think it is rediculous that a simple claim like this should take 2 weeks to process and that absolutely no feedback comes from MiWay unless you as the client moves mountains to get it out of them.
I gaurantee that I will change my insurance as soon as possible and I will never do business with MiWay again. Anybody thinking about joining Miway should think twice before doing it.

On the 11 July 2016 I was in an accident with a mini bus taxi that drove in to the rear end of my car. Afterwards, I drove around the petrol station situated on the corner next to the intersection where the 1ste accident happened. My intentions were to get the details of the driver and vehicle.
In my shocked stage ( It was my first time being in a accident ) when I saw the mini bus came to a standstill at the garage I drove towards him I missed the brakes and got my foot stuck behind the brake pedal. I collided in to the mini bus as I was not able to get my foot out. I sustained injuries on my foot that lasted almost a month after the accident trying to get my foot out behind the pedal.
My car was towed away to the panel beaters and the process was started. Some of the parts for my car were on back order and due to this the process was delayed.
To my surprise I was contacted by Herdri Korff and he said that would like to meet with me regarding the accident. He asked that we meet at my house on 22 July 2016 (If I remember correctly), then he started to ask me a lot of questions regarding the accident as if I was on trial. He was very intimidating and implied that I was not being honest about the accident. He also tried to convince me that I should pull back the claim and pay for the damage myself. I was not willing to do so because I have not done anything wrong. He threatened me that if they will reject the claim I would not be able to purchase another vehicle in my life because no one will insure me. He once again asked me about the incident and I told him exactly what happened from my point of view. He implied that I was lying due to the fact that I was not certain about the speed that I was traveling through the garage and the time frame that the mini bus was parked next to the petrol station. I believe that not one person in this situation will be able to know the exact speed that they were driving.
They also said that the mini bus was standing in the same spot for 45 seconds not like I told them that it has just stop there. According to me it just came to a standstill. They said that they had video footage of the incident and I asked to see it. It could be possible that I was mistaken of the time frame that the mini bus was at a standstill at the point of impact as I was driving with my back towards the 1ste accident scene which put the 2nd accident also behind me to enter the petrol station. Merely because I wanted to use the garage as a drive through space because I could not follow the mini bus in the same road that it was heading.
It was only when I already entered the petrol station that I saw the mini bus. Till this day I am still uncertain if this was the case because they still have not sent me the footage which I requested numerous times. I received an e-mail stating that my claim was rejected due to dishonesty and deliberate act. I am still in shock that they could reject it as I was telling the truth the entire time. They are implying that a drove intensely in to the mini bus. I have never been in a physical fight in my life and avoid conflict as far as I can. Why would a woman alone put her live in danger like that?
I can’t believe that you get treated like a criminal by an institution that you faithfully pay every month to provide you with a service. I am sitting in very inconvenient situation where this claim took almost 2 months only to get rejected and I know in my heart of hearts I did not do anything wrong.
I am still uncertain why they reject my claim and the only reason they gave me was that it “Dishonestly and deliberate act by policy holder.”
I am just leaving this here that no one will fall in this deviant scheme that they call insurance.
unreasonable lack of progress in claim
Since May 2014 I have been dealing with a MiWay legal advisor and it has been a drawn out and unpleasant experience. The staff member in question took so long to get ANYWHERE with the claim that eventually I had to get help from the Legal Team Manager who was embarrassed by his service when I told her about my experience and then had the matter at a conclusion from her side within the week.
I spent MONTHS of stress and anxiety trying to get answers and progress from the legal advisor and am shocked that this issue could have been put to bed ages ago, as proved by his superior. He would promise to contact me and I would have to chase him for information as the promises of contact by certain times/days were not fulfilled. He mislead me in terms of progress with the claim, speaking about authorization and vaguely answering me that it was authorization for payment when I questioned it, yet NO such progress was ever made. He would tell me to call him at a specific day/time and then not be in the office. I read a correspondence between him and his superior and it didn't include any of the details he had confirmed with me weeks/months ago.
I am shocked that I was made to worry and stress myself sick over this situation because of this staff member's lack of communication skills and not sticking to his word. Myself, everyone involved in the claim, and all of those who I have spoken to over the past few months are disgusted. For a person in such a situation it is extremely unfair to let them sit and panic about it for so long! I ended up on tranquilizers while waiting for this to come to a conclusion!

Got accident last year with my uninsured car - accident involved other cars...your client was also involved. Miway approached me to pay for a ll costs involved which is R33893.83 (Thrirty three thousands)...i was also told that ecause i don't pay cash i must pay 15% monthly interest which is R22154.87...The total comes to R56048.70 which i do not have. I'm struggling to pay but i do pay my monthly arrangement but why must i pay for the interest. It this how it's supposed to be...you charge 3rd party that much which is almost double...

I am also having the same problem with miway insurance. A client of theirs hit me and it was only by god;s grace I didnt loose my life. I have done eveything miway asked me to do, for 3 moths I have been out of work and my wife, only for them to tell me their client was right. This client of theirs could not wait on the other side of the road where the robot on my side was green for me to go.
I wonder what kind of business enterprise would advertise and then not live up to their standards. I can never recommend such a company locally or internationally.

My name is Ms Siphokazi Gqeba my policy number is [protected] I took a MiWay car insurance on the 02 February 2018 the sales agent called me we did everything over the phone and the agent told me that I must take the vehicle for assessment I asked him where do I take the vehicle for assessment the agent told me that he is going to send the details by sms the detials were sent by sms that I must take my car for assessment in Umtata whereas I am in East London and my registration was not the registration that I gave them it was wrong after that my friends advised me to cancel MiWay because all of them had bad experience with the company and look at the reviews or complaints on the internet, I looked at the reviews on the internet none of the clients were happy with MiWay, on the 15 Ferbruary 2018 at 09:30 I sent an email to MiWay to cancel the policy despite the fact that I cancelled them they despite the fact that I have cancelled them, they continued with the debit order unfortunately for them there were insufficient fund, I took another insurance that was going to debit on the 25 April 2018 but MiWay continued to debit when that insurance debited there insufficient funds because the money was debited by MiWay I was involed in an accident I called the other insurance to claim they told me that I am not covered for this month I downloaded my bank statement and discovered that MiWay debited the money I called the other insurance and told them that their money was debited by MiWay they told me to make a claim from MiWAy I did my claim number is C959638 I did everything with them and they told me that I did not take my car for inspection I told them the reason for not taking my car for inspection the told me to wait for the following week as they only have their meetings to discuss these matters on a Friday to me this is an inconvinience because the car is not driveable the window is completely broken when I was taking the insurance I told them the car is paid up they wanted a vehicle inspection [censored] from the dealership I called the dealership and they told me that they do not keep the records after 5 years I have tried to lodge a complaint with the insurance Ombudsman they advised me to first lodge a complaint with MiWay complaints department first and see their response and then forward to them.

I have also been experiencing hassles with Miway, they are actual ripoffs. My customer was hit by their client at the rear of the vehicle and while it was stationery and they still sided with their client as he mentioned that he did not have space to pass. As per the picture indicates a bus could have passed with ease.

My car was damaged by a truck about 4 months ago and the details of the third party are at hand and police case was opened. I have submitted a claim through my insurance (Miway) and they welcomed it. They sent me to a Panel beater of their choice. The advisor of that panel beater qouted the damage as a repalcement of a part because of the excent of the damage on the panel. The insurance wants the unreparable panel to be repairs and not replaced and now we are on a gridlock because I dont want my car to have body filler on it as this is a new car and I pay insurance and fill that my rights should be served.

I signed up with Miway as they were cheaper and the service seemed better. Today I regret it. After being burgled in June, I was finally advised in July that my claim had been rejected and my contract cancelled. While waiting to have my claim finalised I had asked more than once, if there was a problem, only to be advised that there was not. However a month after the burglary I was advised that there were fraudulent and dishonest and I should remove this product from the list. I did not. If I did not own it, how can I claim for it? It seems to me that they look for little things to reject your full claim, that to me is fraudulent and dishonest and this is how they score. If there had been a problem from the beginning why did they not state so then? Well, now they have my payments and I am black listed! I sit with my cars and my House that is not insured. Please let me know if there is someone that was unhappy with Sean Pay the assessor. I will not be the victim of being called a fraud! I will tack this to the end. My Clam is +_ R80 000 but it is not about the Money it is about my NAME. If it will cost me R x, I will an can pay it to clear my name.

miway is the worst company I have ever dealt with
I am amking a third party claim against a client of theirs and it has been the worst experience I have ever had to deal with! Only to get told that miway will not be paying out my claim because i was rear ended 'unintentionally'. How ever the cause, i was rear ended and now I have to pay for the damages out of my own pocket! Wonderful how that works. Miway is by far the WORST insurer I have ever had to deal with to date. I will never recommend or insure with those ******!

miway is very very poor and the admin people do not know when the last day of the month is for debt orders . They start deducting from the 15 of very month and then you must pay the fines at the bank and every month it is the same story sending emailes to then and try phoneing them they never phone back or just put the phone down in your ear. cancell the policy is the best
i hope people get wise about miway cause they do not care about the third party.In most companies they would have been polite but the person that attended to me was unfair and just kep wasting my time
i am also having the same problem with miway insurance.a client of theirs hit me and it was only by God's grace i didn't loose my life.i have done eveything miway asked me to do, for 3 moths i have been out of work and my wife, only for them to tell me their client was right.This client of theirs could not wait on the other side of the road where the robot on my side was green for me to go.
I wonder what kind of business enterprise would advertise and then not live up to their standards.i can never recommend such a company locally or internationally.

I signed up with Miway as they were cheaper and the service seemed better. Today I regret it. After being burgled in March, I was finally advised in April that my claim had been rejected. While waiting to have my claim finalised I had asked more than once, if there was a problem, only to be advised that there was not. However a week and month after the burglary I was advised that there was inconsistancies and I should remove these products from the list and they would finalise it. If I did not own it, how can I claim for it. A hair machine that I could pick up for R200? It seems to me that they look for little things to reject your full claim, and this is how they score. If there had been a problem from they beginning why did they not state so then? Well, now they have my payments made to them, and no payout for the cover I was paying for. So much for having insurance done My way...

Even after rejecting the incoming calls, they just phone more.

Kgomotso was not doing justice at all, when he gathered information and questioning me about a crack on the windscreen. Who drives so careful on a clean road, that has no trucks. A tiny crack does cause a damage on the windscreen. Why ask me about sensors, if you know all the info about my car. My car depreciates, but my premium increases.

I have lodge a claim 822517 with miyway because I get an accident on february 2017 they arrange the truck to take my car to the nearest panel beat and they call me on 22/02/2017 it was leezhaen williams said miyway didnt receive my premium on the collection date, I willl not have any cover for the period for which I did not pay. and he said I must send him a bank statement to see that the was money on the day of collection the 15/02/2017 but they still debit my money with my car still not repaired
I was paying r571.60, then 1 may 2017 they send me an email telling me they renew my policy and the total monthly debit amount has been adjusted to r721.85 and is effective from 31 may 2017.

I took out a car insurance witt miway. I spoke with merrick/justin! they send me an sms and it reads as follows: "welcome to miway! your cover starts 12/11/2013. 1st premium; r344.28 on 15/11/2013. tel: [protected], ref. no. [protected]." I phoned the number to confirm but dibusang said it will be r692.83. but on the 15/11/2013 they will take r465-00! I cancelled the insurance just their with her!
On 16/11/2013 a debt order of r1088.60 miwaycolle290357250028080 went of from my account? I went to the bank and cancelled this new debt order again!
I have learnt my lesson! never buy any insurance over a telephone!.

I have lodge a claim C712710 with miyway because I get an accident on 03/03/2016 before they can get the car and see how it damage I get an email from Cidelia Baeker that the will right it off, and then I must go to the bank an get a settlement after all I done she call me to advise me it can be a possibility to declined my policy and refund me after a week I call her for a feedback within a 30minutes she call me and told me my claim has been rejected and know they bring back my car with lot of mark and im struggling to get my money back cause they fail to do their work you cant continue keep debit my money if the information was wrong because I told you everything why you don't go and check everything like you did know before you start take my money today I got a problem you reject my policy and im struggling also to get my money.
have lodged a claim c697994 with my miway because my car key insert had broken and I was advised by mpumi kumbe to go make a quotation and send it to her which I did however when I check the status of my claim it says closed but I have not received any feedback from miway why was the claim closed

The incident where the front bumper of my car was damaged during towing after refers. The matter was reported to yourselves on the same day and it is now two weeks later and still I have not received much assistance from either yourselves nor from the towing company.
I cannot drive the car in its current condition, and this has been a big inconvenience to both my family and business as I have been stuck here in Johannesburg and have not been able to be with my family nor attend to my business operations, which are out in Kwa-Zulu Natal.
I have on several occasions tried to communicate with the towing company but my efforts have been fruitless thus far.
My request is that MiWay as my insurer and the contractor to the towing company should be facilitate the resolving of the matter with the towing company a.s.a.p.
