delivery procedures
I purchased a bedroom set on November 24, 2012 for $2, 199.00. It was scheduled to be delivered on 12/15. The entire set was delivered except for the bed rails which apparently were not available at the time. Mor said they would probably be available within the week and they would call us to schedule delivery when they came in. We got the call and scheduled the delivery on a Sunday. They called a couple of days later to say the rails weren’t in and would have to reschedule, which we did on the next Sunday. We were again called and told they still weren’t in and we rescheduled for Wednesday January 9th. Knowing I was out of town at business meetings until the afternoon that day my wife took the day off because we couldn’t be told by Mor if it would be a morning or Afternoon delivery. The delivery came in the afternoon and when they called to let me know they would be at my house in 10 minutes I moved the box springs and mattress (probably a good 300 lbs.) to make room. When they took the rails off the truck and opened the box they were in they discovered one had a partially separated piece where dowels held it together and one of the long rails was cracked. I said to the delivery person no problem, it looks like we could still use it until a new set comes in to replace it. He called his supervisor who told him NO. He gave me the phone number to the warehouse and then packed up the broken rails and took off. I called the warehouse and requested a “manager”. He told me they would have to reschedule ANOTHER delivery. I said they could call the delivery person and have them deliver the broken one so I would have something to use until the replacement came in. The answer was NO. I said my wife had taken the day off to be available and I was getting tired of having to reschedule. The joke at my house now is, “What do we have going on this weekend? I don’t know. We’ll have to wait to plan anything because we have to wait and see what Mor is going to do.” I asked him for at least a two-hour window for the day HE wanted to reschedule it. He told me NO. Do you people realize that your customers have lives and jobs and can’t keep rescheduling deliveries at YOUR convenience? I am looking at my Mor customer service and warranty information folder and on the inside at the bottom of the page that has delivery and pick up information it reads, “OUR GOAL IS TO EXCEED YOUR EXPECTATIONS”, and, “We will make every effort to satisfy your needs”. That’s rich. All I expected was to get my furniture delivered in a timely manner and I can’t even get that. Your goal is to exceed my expectations? It seems like your goal is to exceed YOUR expectations, not mine, and to satisfy YOUR needs, not mine. Man, I’m telling you, you guys are WAY out of your league when it comes to just ordinary customer service. You will make every effort to satisfy my needs? All I wanted to know about the FIFTH scheduled attempt to deliver my furniture this Saturday was could I get a morning or afternoon time slot because I NEEDED to know how to plan my day. Your delivery people said they COULDN’T do that. They said I would have to wait until two days before the delivery and I would get a text telling me which time slot. They absolutely would not make any concessions from YOUR normal delivery practices to accommodate a CUSTOMER who has now waited SIX WEEKS for delivery of furniture they spent $2, 200 on AT YOUR STORE, is REALLY pissed off and will make sure all my family, friends and acquaintances are completely informed about my experience so they don’t ever have to suffer through it like I did. What I expected is for someone in your, and I use this term VERY loosely, customer service department to go above and beyond to accommodate me in some way, ANY WAY. But what did I get? Absolutely NO. These are our guidelines and we don’t deviate. I will say, although she was completely handcuffed by your pathetic customer service policies, Michelle at your call center was polite and very professional and did what she could to try and help me – which was nothing. She talked to her supervisor, who wouldn’t talk to me at my request. She called your warehouse and spoke with the manager there to try and come up with a resolution, who didn’t call me at my request. She tried to go above and beyond and tried to SATISFY MY NEEDS but couldn’t because she was handcuffed. In fact, it was very apparent she was embarrassed because of all the apologizing she was doing. I wanted to cancel the order and return all the pieces I have but was again told NO. When I told the manager at the warehouse I was going to cancel the entire order his reply to me was, “you gotta do what you gotta do”. Really? That’s the reply he came up with resulting from your company’s stunning customer service training? You guys should try doing stand-up. You are REALLY funny. As I told Michelle, I will never shop at Mor again and as I said earlier I will make sure EVERYONE I know gets an earful about how I was treated. Pathetic.

stock-less
Where to begin? I bought a mattress & bed frame on 11/11/11. I got the bed that night- GREAT! The salesperson said that the frame would be in 4 weeks later. I can't believe I agreed to it! Canceled the frame delivery. The person on the other end asked why I would not be buying it. I told him I found a better bed & quality. "You're gonna have to wait up to 8...

I will never shop at Mor Furniture again! I bought table and chairs and drove all the way to Arizona from California and found out they gave me the wrong set. Next I bought 3 piece couch set and found out they gave me a defective couch. They would not compensate me for their errors and it has costs me more money in gas, time and labor expenses than what the furniture is worth! I had to travel over 2000 miles to correct THEIR mistakes. Even worse was their attitude!
My sales person was great, but for customer service that is where it stopped. I was told 2-3 weeks for my furniture to be delivered. At the end of the 3rd week I had to call them to find out where my furniture was. The delivery manager told me that if I was the only person he missed calling to tell about a delay then he was doing well. For the next two weeks every time I called to find out about my delivery I was told they would look into it and call me back. Not once did they every return my phone calls. Crappy customer service. 1st and last big furniture purchase from MOR.
I was shopping for a new bed and after looking at a few furniture stores I was told by the sales person at Mor they had everything in stock except the bed, however I was assured I would have my bedroom set in 3 weeks or less. I purchased the bedroom set on 2/21/09 from Mor since the other store's told me it would take 5 to 6 weeks. So I sold my old bedroom set and was expecting my new bed to arrive by 3/14/09 at the latest (since that's what I was told) well I finally called at 4pm on the delivery date to find out what was going on and was told the bedroom set I purchased was a popular item and out of stock I would receive it on 4/6/09 instead of the March date. I was so upset I asked to speak with the sales person who assured me I would have my bed in 3 weeks or less (obviously a lie just to make the sale). I called 3 times on 3 different dates and left messages for him to call me till this day I still haven't had a call back. So much for customer satisfaction guarantee, cause I am a very unsatisfied customer. I wouldnt recomend this store to anyone all they want is to make the sale.
liars
On May 15th, My fiance and I stopped by Mor Furniture in El Cajon.
The salesman David greeted us and I assisted us in choosing our living room and Dinning room set with no pressure at all; at the end of the deal he asked me to review my order and sign at the botton, however I saw an extra $50.00 which he took off right after I pointed at it.
A week Later May 21th I saw an ad for some sort of sale at Mor furniture, I called the store and I was told the sectionnal set that I picked is $100.00 less, and I was discovered that he overcharged me for the delivery an extra $100.00, since I haven't recieve my furnitures, I cruised by Mor and I asked David over four times if there is any sale on the set that I picked his answer was "absolutely not" while we were standing by the set, I grabbed the Sale price tag in a nice way and I showed him the sale price, and he was still lying and lying and lying
I was completly discusted with his behavior and still with all that I didn't return the furnitures.
but when I Called the store manager to tell him about the incident and all what he said " oh I am so sorry", at the point I was completely fed up with their bxxxxit.
Before leaving the store I asked the manager a proof that there is no charges on the credit card that they opened for my finance and the banker told him over the phone yes there is $2600.00 pending :)
what a stupid way in running a business.
Be careful of dave and the company who hired a person like him.
No customer service, no integrity and unsafe to be there.
avoid at any cost guys
My couch broke just after a year! Half of the couch is sitting on the ground due to the frame being broken. I contacted Mor and was told sorry it's after a year (1 week) and it's not warrantied. But the couch has a LIFETIME warranty. After 6 MONTHS, of me calling back over and over for a second time they agreed to send someone. Five minutes before the guy was supposed to show up we get a call saying sorry we canceled your appt. we won't come out until you pay us $50. So waiting and waiting for a call from the Manager never came… I called for a second time and for a second time then I was told that the couch and the manufacture are out of business so sorry.. Huh? I called for a second time today and now was told that the couch is discontinued but I will have to take my problem up with the manufacture. I thought that they were out of business? SO now I am being told that even if we were to pay them the service fee they wouldn't be capable to do anything for us anyway because the couch is discontinued and the parts are not available. So you were going to charge me knowing that you couldn't even get the parts? So now I have the manufactures number that was supposedly out of business and was told so sorry.
I just bought a small sofa from the MOR store in Cthdrlcity ca. When I got it home and unwrapped it it soon became apparent that my wife was allergic to something in the material . when I called to find out what could be done about the problem I was told that I should maybe put it outside or try to sell it on craigslist (I've had it for 2 days) NICE PLACE TO DO BISSNESS WITH ! THIS PLACE SUCKS! don't wast your time or money here they're a ripoff
deceptive financing
I pourchased Furniture from MOR firnoture company since my credit was less than perfect i was forwarded to their in house financing department. The company at that time was called TRS which has changed to RAC Acceptance. The credit representation completed a credit app and advised of my credit limit. I purchased a few items and was giving a payment plan. Thant was 2010. I recently noted the balance on my account was not moving in relation to the monthly payments. To my surprise I was advised that the furniture was not a purchase but a rental and my payments were going to fees and taxes with only 30% to the principal. This is very deceptive and not explained to me during the initial credit offer.
I purchased furniture fro MOR because I thought they we a company with good customer service and business accumen. I guess I was arong.
TRS also touted with the offer for credit a service promise that ensured all credit hstory was reported to the credit bureaus and would increase my credit score, another misreresentation. My advice would be to skip the credit dealing with TRS and shop at a store who provides customer service in all areas of the business from inventory to credit offerings.

People are completely not understanding the concept of RAC. It is a lease purchase program. Call it lease to own, rent to own, whatever you like. It is NOT financing. You are NOT given a line of credit. They have a flat price range of items that can be leased. Also, in no way, shape, or form can any company legally claim to improve your credit score. They can only say things such as "MAY help build your credit." This company is a joke and is one of the biggest scams I've ever witnessed in my life. I was assistant manager at a Conn's for six months. I was let go because I was too honest with the customers and refused to harass them over the phone. No wonder why the customers said I was the best employee the company had ever had lol.
total disregard for customer
Bought bedroom set on 5/18/11, scheduled delivery appt for 2 wks out due to delivery restriction in senior apt complex. i was told no problems would arise if we schedule a date in advance boy were they WRONG. on 6/2/11 i received a confirmation of delivery where rep informs me that they can not deliver until after 5pm:. i told rep we could not have delivery after 6pm, rep replied well we deliver up to 12 pm!. i repeated delivery was confirmed two weeks out so this problem would not happen and repeated you are delivering to a senior complex, rep not understanding or willing to accommodate my need then hung up on me?. so i drove to store in riverside ca to speak with mgr but mgr refered me to saleman whereby he calls warehouse and re-explains delivery need and sets up appt for 2-6pm on 6/4/11|. on 6/4/11 we receive a second call from warehouse stating they will not deliver until after 8pm other wise delivery would have to be rescheduled, i inform rep this is not exceptable and decide to drive back to store and speak with mgr, mgr was so unprofessional i had to ask for his name, he never introduced himself to me, . i explain situation for the fourth time and mgr pulls up my acct on computer as he huz and hims over notes then tells me there is nothing he can do'. at this time im totally disgusted and asked if he new what customer service was HE LAUGHED AND STATES IM NOT PLAYING GAMES, i replied this is not a game and the way i have been treated obviously shows your company has no idea what customer service is:. needless to say i cancelled my order... i will never go back to that store or suggest it to anyone as far as im concerned mor furniture is so quick to sell you furniture but not willing to back up the so called mission statement "customer service is our highest priority" what a joke...

deceptive return policy
BUYERS BEWARE! We recently purchased a table from the local MOR Furniture store in Tigard Oregon. What was showed up in the box was nothing like the table on the showroom. The color was different and there was a noticeable difference in the quality! MOR refused to follow their "our goal is satisfied customers" and the they were downright a-holes.
During our discussion with the salesperson "JR" he never once mentioned that purchases could not be returned, only that if we were dissatisfied (i.e. what he meant was defective) with our purchase we could return it within 7 days. The table was in stock at their local warehouse and had to be picked up. First thing that was that was suspect was that "JR" made us initial the receipt in like 7 places for a table that we were paying for with cash. He then gave us a map to the warehouse and put our receipts inside a nice yellow folder with their logo and with nice big writing about how their goal is satisfied customers blah blah, circled the important points, but somehow failed to point out the fine print on the inside stating "all sales final".
When I picked up the table it took 30 minutes of waiting, I was asked to show ID, and for some reason they had to make a photocopy of my drivers license before I would be allowed to take it. I also had to sign yet another form that seemed like it was a standard kind delivery acknowledgement, but on closer inspection there's a number of small print disclaimers about how once you pick up your item there's no returns etc. After we got the table home and assembled we realized very quickly that it wasn't the item that we thought we were buying. We called "JR" at the number he circled and got a call center. We explained the situation and were informed that there would be no returns, and the customer service person then connected us to "JR" at the store and the guy was a total ###. Said no returns and then pointed out where all the fine print was in the documentation.
I have bought furniture many many times over my lifetime from a lot of different places, I have not had to return many items ever because you usually get what you pay for, this is not the case with MOR. Honestly I have never seen such a deceptive way to do business, and the fact that all their forms, even the nice little folder they put your receipts into for you has all this pre-printed disclaimers speak volumns to what to expect and is a warning sign to all. Do not buy furniture from MOR it's a total bait and switch. I plan on filing my complaint with the better business Bureau immediately. Buyers beware!

Beware! Do not buy from mor furniture! It took over 2 months to receive a wood trundle bed and when it finally came in and they delivered and assembled it. It was damaged with scratches, dusty and dirty and they did not put all the hardware in the bed. It's only put together with 6 bolts and a few screws. It's missing about 30 bolts and screws! I called customer service and couldn't reach anyone for days! Finally had to use their text 371-97 service. They texted me back and said no refund. No return and no hardware and bolts! I asked to speak to a supervisor and was ignored! I asked for corporate's phone number or email address and was ignored. To say the least I'm so infuriated!
buy from mor furniture and you'll be sorry!
We purchased a living room set. The salesman was great. He was very knowledgeable, professional and friendly. He said the furniture would be delivered in 3 weeks, at the most. He would rather "under-promise and over-deliver", so he was just using 3 weeks as a worst-case scenario. They would call us a couple days ahead of time to confirm. Three weeks came and went, no call, no furniture. Lesson learned: Never judge a retailer by their smooth salesperson.
I called what appeared to be a local phone number for the store. It took me to their national call center. I waited 18 minutes for someone to answer. Subsequent calls took as long as 35 minutes. None were less than 15. Lesson learned: Make sure the retailer you are dealing with has a local number they are willing to share with you.
We had already dispensed with our old furniture just prior to the promised "worst-case scenario" delivery date. We also had an important gathering planned at our house a week after this supposed delivery date. I began corresponding with the local furniture store by driving there rather than calling, as it was literally faster! I finally got word that our furniture was in town and scheduled to be delivered, barely in time for our important function. I was given a time window of 1pm to 5pm on a Friday, so I took the afternoon off work at great expense to meet the delivery. Five o'clock came and went, no furniture. Lesson learned: Everything a salesman says is BS.
After another excruciatingly long wait on hold, the person at the call center was able to get in contact with the truck (yeah, right.) They were having trouble assembling some bunk-beds on an earlier delivery, and I was next. "Should be at your place in 40 minutes." This was at 6:10pm. I called back at 8pm when I had to leave to play a band gig. Same long wait on hold, similar BS story: "They were on their way to your place and realized they didn't have the right hardware on the truck for your stuff. They are picking it up at the warehouse and should be to your place by 9:30pm." SERIOUSLY? You're going to deliver furniture at 9:30pm? And, what kind of hardware is required to deliver a couch, loveseat and chair? Lesson learned: There is no limit to the scope of their BS.
Mercifully saving the delivery people from the waiting wrath of my wife, I asked if they could bring it first thing in the morning. Since they were willing to do it that night, I should be first if they did it in the morning, right? "Absolutely. You will be their first stop." I asked what time to expect them, and got, "Between noon and 5:00pm." WAIT A MINUTE! You said I would be first. I want a specific time, or I'm canceling the order. "Okay, 11:00. You will be their first stop." I inquired as to what time they start work and was told, "10:00, but they have to load the truck and stuff." Isn't my stuff already on the truck, for God's sake? Lesson learned: I never seem to learn.
As you might have guessed, 11:00am came and went, no furniture. More phone calls finally got the call center in touch with the truck again. They had to stop and put gas in the truck. Great. It must have needed a lot of gas, because they didn't show up until 2:30pm, WITH THE WRONG STUFF! To his credit, the delivery driver knew more about the product numbers than the salesman did. He convinced me that the salesman ordered the stuff wrong, all but the chair, which they left with me. The delivery helper mentioned that they actually had the stuff I wanted on the truck. I all but held a gun to the driver's head to get him to leave it, and he even called his supervisor to see if he cold. No go. It would mess up the next delivery, which was apparently much more important than mine. Lesson learned: The Mor salesman was an ***.
After finding out the stuff was indeed ordered wrong, I was told it would be another two weeks, at which time I canceled the order, which I had paid for with a credit card (not theirs.) The salesman and manager were both very courteous handling the cancellation, and apologized up and down for the mix-up. I was told they would pick the chair up promptly and then credit the charges back to my card after the chair reached the warehouse. Okay, whatever. Get her done. Incredibly, the truck showed up at my house early the next morning and picked up the chair! I was promptly credited beck the cost - of the chair only! Lesson learned: If anything else can get screwed up where Mor is involved, it will.
Today I called back for the third time regarding the remaining balance I am owed. I was told that it takes ten to fifteen working days to process. After drilling the call center drone for more explanation, I discovered that they meant it takes THEM 10-15 working days to process it! BS! Credit my account immediately! "Okay, you will be moved to the top of the pile." Yeah, right. And later, monkeys are going to fly out of my butt. Lesson learned: Pending, but I'm sure there will be one.
We bought furniture from a locally owned store instead, and they were able to deliver it in two days, in time for our function. I only wish I would have read some reviews on Mor before I ever stepped foot through their door. The whole "no local phone number" thing should be a major red flag for anyone.
I would not recommend shopping at Mor for anything, ever. Go in and sit on their furniture and eat their cookies instead. At least you'll get what you are paying for! I am almost ready to call my bank and have them reverse the credit card charges, just so I can be done with this.
toxic fabric
Summery:
Sells Defective Merchandise.
Sells Merchandise that may be Hazardous to Human Health.
Fails to Communicate to Customers after Reporting Problems.
Fails to Remedy even Serious Issues with Merchandise.
Details:
I purchased a love seat/recliner at the MOR Furniture store in Bakersfield California and recently contacted the company regarding the disintegration of the threads in the fabric after zero use.
The fabric that separates the Corduroy like-raised pile is disintegrating into almost airborne size particles which could be hazardous if inhaled. The larger particles are sharp enough to puncture the skin.
I sent an email to MOR and contacted the San Diego office by phone on 3/9 and spoke to a Representative named "Oscar" who asked me to send photos and said he would follow-up upon receiving them.
No follow up from Oscar or anyone else by phone or email. I sent another email to Oscar on 3/14 with no response. I called MOR in San Diego on 3/18 and spoke to a person by the name of "Hyman" who claimed to be a supervisor. He looked over the pictures and emails sent to Oscar and decided he would call the General Manager at the Bakersfield store and see what they wanted to do rather than making a decision at the corporate level. I received a call back from Hyman stating that because the furniture was sold "AS-IS, " MOR is declining to credit, exchange, or refund regardless of the serious nature of the problem.
So, my advice, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING from this company. They will eventually be driven out of business like customers finally did to Levitz Furniture after years of consumer abuse.
I plan to send the photos and the story to the proper Local, State and Federal agencies e.g. Consumer Protection, etc. for them to follow up. I think the local Bakersfield News service might like some samples of the particles.
Hope this posting helps others.

Totally agree! Horrible customer service/delivery personnel untrained and unprofessional
I bought a dinning room table with 6 chairs and a childrens loft bedroom set. I didnt have them unbox the furniture due to a recent PCS move. Upon destination and household shipment arrival at the house, we found out that the one of the chairs had the wrong screws needed to be put together. When we went to put my daughters bedroom suit together none of the correct screws and hardware was in the box. So because we now live in HI and not in CA where we purchased the product, the only thing we could do was call. They sent us several shipment of again the wrong hardware, promised us a credit because of all the drama and disappointment of my daughter, but never received it. Mor Furniture promise to return calls from both the local store and their "headquarters"; promises was left unfullfilled. Now today, after my husband had to do the best he could in putting my daughters bedroom suit together with all the wrong hardware (even some we purchased on our own at Lowe's) I read on a manufacturer's tag on one of the dresser's and it states:"CALIFORNIA 93120 COMPLAINT FOR FORMALDEHYDE PHASE 1, what in the world does that mean. To best sum up this complaint, do not purchase furniture from Mor's Furniture Store; they care nothing about the customer only the money the can scam out of you.
credit not received
We were told that if we bought the furniture now and if it came on sale, they would refund us the difference. We called 2X to check if furniture was on sale around Thanksgiving week. There was no reply. We had to go into the store to find out about the sale and confronted the sales person. He toldus tht he tried to call but did not get an answer. Supposedly the paperwork was initiated. But 15 days later, we still did not get the credit. My husband now has to drive to the showroom again just to talk to someone. The sales people kept telling us that they can't do anything about the credit since the paperwork has been submitted to their accounting dept.

incomplete furniture
Mor fails in every way. I purchased a desk that was missing pieces and could not be fully assembled. After calling them for three months, they finally sent out a technician who told me, "We can't help you". Customer service does not help at all. They ignore you on purpose to frustrate you and hope you drop your complaint. They have no intentions of helping their customers. They made no attempts to deliver the missing pieces to complete my desk. What good is broken down furniture that you can't use. DO NOT BUY FURNITURE from Mor furniture. In their own words, "[They] CAN'T help you." I honestly believe that with their track record they will be going out of business very soon.
fall apart furniture
We bought a Cuddle chair and a sectional to replace one that had been smoke damaged.. I have never had so meany headaches on furniture.. The Cuddle chair wheels kept falling off they did come out and fix it once and then it happened again so they came out and heard nothing for about a month so I called them back they no longer could get the wheels so the would give a in store credit for the chair.. At the sametime I had the sectional and footstool and the cuhions kept on falling about on them and the leg on the wedge would move all over so they did come out to fix it.. I just got off the phone with them again today to come back out to refix the cushions. I just do not understand how you can charge a huge price for BAD Furniture..
I WILL NEVER TELL ANYONE TO GO BUY FURNITURE THERE.. MY SON HAD A GARAGE SALE AND I ALMOST PUT THE FURNITURE OUT TO SELL..

I have to say that after reading all these complaints, I'm really glad that we didn't buy furniture from them. We ended up going to Penny's Home store for dining furniture. It fell apart after about a year and we don't use the dining room more than 1 or 2 times a year. Penny's gave us a full refund without any hassle. Thats how its supposed to be done.
Thanks to all of you who posted warnings about MOR. There's one right by my house but I'll be avoiding that and letting my friends know to not shop there either.
stay away
I have read all the complaints. I started to walk into the local Mor store the other day. I thought it was the replacement for Wicks which I never had trouble with. After reading all these posts why would anyone buy a single thing from this store. Money is too hard to come by and to spend it on furniture that is damaged, incomplete or delivery people who are careless and customer service that is non-existing is ridiculous.
Thank you to each and every person who has written on this site detailing their horrors. How is this store allowed to stay in business. I will gladly walk away.
the last piece of furniture I picked up took 3 months to arrive
I purchased furniturenat Mor Furniture for Less because it was at a good price and it looked of good quality. When I received my furniture it was not what I had seen at the show room of their stores. It was the same model but made with a complete different material a low quality material. Their respond was "the manufacturer made a mistake we are going to contact them.'' But to my surprice when I went to their warehouse to pick-up a different piece, there was a lady complaining for the same thing. Her recliner was not the same one she had ordered at the showroom. The last piece of furniture I picked up took 3 months to arrive! They had told me i was going to receive it in 8 weeks but did not arrive on time! It took 4 more weeks for me to be able to pick up my furniture! And to my surprice one of the pieces was not made with the same quality and material as the rest of the furniture I had picked up! It's a hassle. One has to be complaining. Oh! and since the employees are payed by commission IF you're sales person is not available then no one can help you. Not even the store manager because "he does not have access to the sales person sales" I should have listened to the complaints I read online before I shoped there because they are real.
poor customer service
Worst customer service ever as well as little to no organization when it comes to delivering.
My husband and I went to Mor to look for a new bedroom but did not find anything we liked. What we did find in the clearance section was a king mattress for a very good price. When we were paying for the mattress, my husband and I were deciding how to take the mattress home since we have a jeep we could take it home ourselves but needed to secure it with something and we did not have enough roof rack ties in the car to do so. The sales associate said that if we bought another item we could get free delivery by Tuesday ( it was Sunday) We were in need of a rug so we purchased a rug for $100.00 also a clearance item. We specifically asked if our items would be delivered by Tuesday since we did not have a mattress to sleep on. We were told that it would be delivered by Tuesday and that we would get a call that same night to give us our time window for having the items delivered.
We did not receive a call until Monday night saying the delivery time would be Thursday. We objected to this telling the woman on the phone we were specifically told that it would be delivered on Tuesday. My husband had asked to work half a day that day in order to wait for the delivery. The representative put us on hold and when we got a person on the line again she had transferred us back to the store so we could deal with the sales associate ourselves. We asked to speak to a manager who explained that items purchased in the clearance section were only delivered on Thursday although we were never told this by the sales associate. After much debate the store manger said that he would arrange for our mattress to be delivered on Wednesday. I then asked for half a day off from work to be home for the delivery.
I get a call around 3:00pm from the delivery guy who said he had our paper work for the delivery but that our items were not in his truck. He said he would contact his manager and that we would hear from them shortly. It was 7:00pm and we had still not heard from them. We called and they said that we were fourth in line to receive our merchandise. We did not hear from them again until 12:30 am when we were already asleep on our couches saying if they could come by to drop off our items.
This is by far the worst service we have ever received; we were so tired that we just wanted our items to be dropped off and for them to leave. Since we complained to the manager and to the person arranging the drop off about the delivery date we are convinced that they purposely left our order to be the last. Never ever will we shop at Mor again nor will I recommend them to anyone! I wish I would have read about the bad reviews before shopping with them. We ended up buying a beautiful bedroom set at Jeromes :.)

Poor customer service/all-around service
Saw advertisement on television and heard from a friend about service, thought it was a good idea to check it out. They, Mor Furniture, were running a four year no tax financing, even better idea! Find a bedroom set, order it, told that it was the most popular set in the store, , whatever. The sales manager said that it shouldn't be no more than four to...

My husband and I have been waiting for over a month to be refunded $2, 698.00 for a damaged curio cabinet and matching dinette set that was purchased at MOR Furniture in San Marcos, CA.
HDL Delivery services is their sub-contracted delivery company that set-up our Curio cabinet incompletely. The second shelf collapsed and destroyed $800 worth of our China and Stemware that were given to us as wedding gifts.
A MOR service technician came to our house to inspect what was damaged and determined the root cause to be an incomplete installation due to the 2nd shelf only having half of the support pegs installed during setup of the curio.
MOR Furniture decided that it would be easier if they blamed the manufacturer of the furniture, claiming it was "defective" even though the furniture was assembled with pieces missing so MOR Furniture could receive the refund for the furniture we returned to them.
Our furniture has been in MORs possession for almost 3 weeks now and we still have not received the $2, 698.00 they owe us for the furniture we returned to them. We have contacted Dave Franco, their Customer Service manager who has done nothing but feed us lies. Never in my life have I dealt with such POOR customer service and a process so broken.
Their reputation with the BBB says it all with 230 complaints filed in the last 36 months, which is more than twice the number of any other retail furniture store in their range. What an embarrassment!
service
I bought a sofa sectional and dining room table group Dec 20, 2009. The sale man said we can deliver that on Dec 31, 2009. I thought that was quick. The sales man said we have that in stock, its no problem. I was having a new years eve party and that would work out great. I went home and removed my old furniture. The furniture did not arrive and the warehouse informed me that my furniture was back ordered until april. I ran down to Costco and bought a nice dining room table set. The store manager then said it would come on Jan 8th. It did not come. I called to make sure they removed the extra $1900. charged for original order with dining room table. I could not get a call back as promised. I emailed them with no response. I finally was so fed up I called and cancelled the entire order. I now consider them to be nothing but liars. They lost a $4700. plus sales. I ended up with better furniture in the long run.
