I was charged for a room I was unable to use because they wouldn't accept my military I'd that I've used all over the world.
Then after they refused my reservation I was still charged although jotels.com site where booked says FREE CANCELLATION.
I WAS FORCED TO GET ANOTHER HOTEL THAT accepted I'd just fine. And then I find out I was charged. I tried 4 times from 5 minutes after the incident to notify hotels.com but got no response until my 4th time
The people at motel 6 were the rudest people I've ever dealt with. I filed a complaint with FTC already and if I dont get refund I will have my attorney take it from here.
I would never send another customer there. These people need to be in a different line of work

I book this room at Motel 6 Jacksonville North Carolina 2 weeks in advance I got to my reservation today at 11 paid for the room was told to come back at 3 cuz my room wasn't ready I came back at 3:30 and the room still wasn't ready I believe that Motel 6 should take and reimburse me my money for the day I was told because they had 70 people check out I would have to wait my room was to be ready at 3pm..u came back at 330 an it still not ready

My husband and I rented a room for an overnight stay and was sadly disappointed in the way our room was. Hardly no towels. Shower wall had womens hair on it and the toilet was dirty. When we took our dog to go to the bathroom the area alongside the building was so covered hmmm in animal feces that it stunk terribly and was hard lo y no place to step. I have never been so disappointed in a motel then I was this go around. Will never stay another night in a motel 6 or let alone recommend it to anyone ever.

The people working the hotel were horrible people. Rude and unhelpful. Asked for towels at front desk got told we had to wait till 9am the next day. No tolietries at all provided. Room was dirty and smelt horrible. No screens on Windows. Bed was broken no TV remote. Booked the room for 4 people 2 double beds and got yelled at by clerk stateing the room wasn't for 4 people and she should charge me more money. Asked for different room got told no. Fire alarm went off at 5am waking all of us. After being talked to the way the clerk spoke to me I asked for a refund for my second night and was told to call on Monday and talk to management. Still haven't received a call back. Your company should be ashamed to have your name on this hotel.

Cockroaches in room, called front office, they said they'll let house keeping know in the morning to spray for bugs, but didn't provide me with bug spray and had a terrible time sleeping with bugs in my room. I feel they should have gotten me some bug spray from house keeping supplies to spray the room myself as it's not my place to have to buy bug spray, i didn't pay to have bugs in my room and they might be normal for some people but not for me.

I go to check in its my friend her under aged daughter and myself so she registered me as a guest i go to check in i wasn't sure of what name it was under so she then said i will have to wait of the property so i followed directions and the employee then went up to the room after i left and had her 17 year old daughter leave and had her exit the room with no refund i am very disappointed and frustrated with this solution it is 3 o clock in the morning and now i had to pay more money to a taxi for her daughter
room condition and services
I am a regular Motel 6 guest I use them when I travel for work. The past 2 weeks have been very bad in terms of the services and room condition I am used to. First in Santa Rosa Ca. I rented a no smoking room as always The room I received was clearly contaminated with a lot of cigarette smoke residue. I have a heart condition and this affects me. The smoke detector had a plastic bag covering it. I asked to move they said "we do not move people for that reason". I then moved myself to Petaluma Motel 6 and it was not much better. It took 5 moves to different rooms before I could get an internet signal. I am here for work I spent 2 days getting nothing done except moving rooms. The microwave that is for common use is so filthy I can not believe that it s expected we use it. The ice machine is out of order. During coffee in the morning the office was closed.. The bottom line is I have not received what I paid for here I am behind 2 days with my work and I have paid for 3 nights where I had to live with out what was paid for in my reservation. I feel I am owed those days back in a different location rather that a refund.

We had a room for 2 nights in Gulfport MS at Hotel 6... Rooms were freshly painted. That was the only nice part.. the 1st room we got the toliet wouldn't flush n went back to the front desk n lady said to just get a hold of someone in the morning... We had to use trash bucket w water to flush it n my husband said he wasn't having that so we asked for another room.. they finally gave use one... That had 3 spiders in it n 2 we're in the floor n one was in the bed under covers but on top of that they rooms smelt like mildew n musty n in the morning my throat was hurting so bad that we got up at 7:30 the next morning in checked out n found another hotel. Just very unhappy with it n thought u should know... Thank you for ur time

I made reservations online through the app and reservations confirmed and all but soon as I arrived at the motel because the room was under my boyfriend name and when he walked in to check in they refused to check him in and said they did not have any rooms, and they were cancelling the reservation and they had no rooms, and not in a polite tone either so I stepped in and ask them what the problem was and victor said to me, "you can't check in no room I'm cancelling your reservation no no room you can't check in" in a very rude and loud manner while I was in the process of pulling up my reservation and asking for an explanation and he just walked away. The female clerk same the same thing until she started to realize that I wasn't one of her regular walk ins and I realize what I was already in the process of doing and I saw her face changed and she perked up but I walked outside when someone from corporate answered and was in the process of seeing what the problem was she came outside and said "come I check you in long as you have money on card." But this time I was completely at a complete lost with the behavior and treatment that my boyfriend and I received. I have never in my life been treated with such disrespect and discrimination in my life. I did not get an apology or anything . When I went online the reservation was indeed cancelled so I went ahead and booked another one under my name. I went back inside and they were starting to make more excuses until I stopped them and told them I made another reservation under my name. So not only were they disrespectful, rude, and being racist they also lied. So finally we were checked in no apology but they were quick to take my money made the keys and pass me the keys.
So here I am in the room and there's burn holes on the covers fridge does not have racks not sure if it's workinh just plugged it in and it's stained yellow I have pictures of it. That being said I could have taken my business somewhere else but my boyfriend was just released out the hospital and were wanted a place that's clean comfortable and close to where I work and this is the only one around the area and I did not spend my money with your chain to be treated like crap. I am tired stressed disappointed upset... my migraine is starting to get worst so I will continue this after I try to lay down. I've worked in a hotel industry for almost a decade for a rather big chain at that and I would never in my life or have I ever seen anyone be treated the way we were.
rooms are nasty!! un rentable
We have went in at least 10 rooms or more one had a leak floor was soaked with water and dog hair everywhere! Others had gaps in door where u could see everything outside and nasty smell the beds are half broke and dust 5in thick fridge is rusted out dressers falling apart and carpet is filthy.. We have a two year old old there is only showers this place should not even be open!

I have stayed at this motel several times and the rate was always about $65 dollars for the night.
I had an emergency and had to come through Portsmouth on August 25th of this year.
(Conf # 1424AC1609) I was shocked when the clerk told me the rate would be $180/ night. I needed the room so there wan't much time for me to look for different cheaper rooms elsewhere.
The gave me a vet military rate that brought the cost down to $162.84, That was still $100 dollars more than what I was use to paying.
I have to tell you, that your homey adds are what brought me to your motel, this will change As far as I am concerned I was ripped off.
I am guessing that the motels are owned privately and there isn't anything you can do about it, but want you to know I have started telling my friends what a rip off your brand is.

I stayed at the hotel 6 in Lindale Texas last night and felt very unsafe, The parking lot was like a store. Non stop people in and out all night, People was loud above me all night, The room had a bad funky smell and with me with a health problem did not need this. The dead bolt on the door did not work so i went and asked for another room and they would not change rooms, Felt very unsafe till i got out about 5am this morning, Was not worth the money spent. Would really like a refund for this bad choice of hotels, All the rest i have stayed in has always been good and worth the money, This one i would not give you a dime for this hotel, Needs to be cleaned up, Very dirty or shut down . If i was a hotel rep i would be ashamed to have this unit with my team. Very mad and dissatisfied with my stay at this branch.

See picks we arrived at chech in time and were told we hadta wait a hr our room wasnt ready then we finally get in nd see my picks of what I found dirty shower with apperantly last guests hair spread throughout shower walls tub had major cracking nd under neath bat mat was clearly a hole they musta glued mat couldnt move it u see the filthy floor mind u that was after they supposedly just mopped it I hadta clean my self the towel u see blue was complety stained nd were plenty more that looked that way n the white wash cloth was folded on the sink with that blk/ blue what looked like miscara we left $25 deposit for kitchen utensels pots pans etc were completly dirty I comlained nd the brough me new wasnt much better had no excuse why the room was filthy clamming they just finished cleannin it nd staff loooked like straight up junkys 1/2 of them no uniforms manager told me they live on property with donzens of their kids running about with no supervision the staff was partying drinking etc nd to top it all off I get a knock onthe door someone brought a extra blanket then came back to tke it back said was delivered to wrong room so I asked for 2 nd the head house keeper gets on the phone with me all nasty tells me the girl brought me 2 im telling her no she didnt nd she cops a serious attitude tsllin me she was standing right there and wasnt gonna argue with me menwhile im al polight so I again repeat wht actually hppened no apology no nothing thts how they treat paying customers nd manager was no better also found dead roaches in room ugh the list goes on nd we were there due to mandatory evac from a zone nd booked a weekd needless to say we left I don not recommend this plce to any one unless ur a druggis it wasnt sutiable to stay with our 5 yr old son nd yorky dogs please look at pictures nd videos pictures dont lie! This by far was the wort place we ever stayed well checked in nd right back out this filthy dump only reccommended for the same kind running it junkies nd crack heads they'll fit right in with the staff!

Horrible, bath tub dirty, 1 towel, no wash clothes. Asked for tub to be cleaned, never happened, asked for wash clothes was told they dont have anymore. Asked for room refrig- they didn't have 1 either.
Room has hole in bathroom door, no smoke detector, wires hanging from wall. Very disappointed in this place. Will not be staying here again. Great location, that's about it

On Feb. 22, 2018, I moved driving from Palm Coast Florida to Mobile, Ala. I arrived at the Motel 6 round 10:30 pm. 2 hours after I got to my room the smoke detector low battery signal started going off. There was no one to stop it or replace the battery..I guess the front desk as asleep, so I took my 2 dogs and slept in my car. The franchise owner refused to give me a refund. With little sleep, I drove to San Antonio where I checked in the Motel 6. The room was on the second floor with no elevator (a violation of the Americans with Disability Act) I am 70 and disabled. told the front desk I needed a ground floor room and was given a key to a ground floor room, the key didn't work. As I was going back to the front desk, cars pulled in to parking lot yelling racial slurs and demanding to see weapons. I definitely did not feel safe so asked for a refund and said I have had enough of Motel 6 and to cancel my reservation in Las Cruces. I was told the cancellations made and there was no cancelation number. Suprise! None of the cancellations were made so I was charged for sleeping in my car and 2 nights that I didn't stay at Motel 6. I have made several phone calls to the motels, customer service with NO luck. So if you want to stary in a Bates Motel, by all means, stay at a Motel 6. The very least Motel 6 can do is issue the refunds due. Oh, I have bank statement to back up these charges.

My fiancé and I stayed in the Motel 6 at 12330 Dorsett Rd, Maryland Heights, MO 63043 Phone: [protected]. Booked on Expedia.com confirmation RDT97YT764 on September 7, 2018 for $57.91. The room was less than up to par for cleanliness but then as soon as we came in my fiancé used the toilet and it stopped up, he called the front desk and she said "we would have to wait until the morning and maintenance will take care of it". What exactly were we supposed to do for a toilet? We left at around 9/9:30 and no one had contacted us or said anything about fixing the toilet. So we had no toilet for the entire night or morning, the lobby bathroom just about made me vomit. I would like a refund of $57.91 for a pretty well unusable room when you can't even use the toilet and a completely rude, obviously not caring about their guests staff. This was completely unacceptable. I obviously didn't take pictures of the nasty stopped up toilet.

Motel 6 in Hamilton MT is awful. Will never stay there again. Checked in at 9:30 at night. I was told the room wasn't cleaned yet. The check in host went to get the cleaning staff to go clean the room. The cleaning guy didn't want to do it but eventually did go. I went to the room after I was told it was cleaned. The cleaning guy just remade the beds using the previous occupants sheets. There was hair on the pillows and toe jamb stuff at the foot of the bed. There was urine stains on the toilet, something spilt on the night stand and the smoke detector was missing. I had to go down to the laundry room to pick out clean sheets and make the beds myself. The next night I stopped in at the lobby around 8pm. I asked if the rooms were cleaned yet and the check in guy said yes. I went up to the room and nothing was done. Beds unmade, the original sheets we took off the night before was still in the corner. Towels on the bathroom floor. The next morning while trying to check out there was no one to be found. I waited for a good 20 minuets and I also called the reservation hotline. They tried calling the office twice and still no one showed up. NEVER AGAIN AT ANY MOTEL 6. (We'll leave the lights on and we'll leave the previous occupants sheets on too)

I made a reservation online with hotels.com, which i had been paying by the night prior to this reservation. My hotel was confirmed through my email and through the front desk.. everything went as normal..kind and friendly housekeeping came and brought me towels and toliet paper, well at about 3am someone came barging into our room with my 4 yr. son sleeping, demanding to know why we were in that room bc we weren't supposed to be there, cause we didnt pay for our nights stay
...she went on and on...waking up my son..being very rude and said she was going to call the police. Well she left and 15 mins later called my room being very ugly demanding we leave and then asked my name and said she'd check again...20 mins later calls and once again very rude saying she found my reservation..never apologizing... i am currently homeless with my son is why i have been paying by the night..never being offered pay 2 nights get 1 free...and my stress level has been so high with my anxiety and i was so scared id be on the street bc of their mess up...and she has still yet to even reconcile...i was a very upset cuatomer...especially being homeless and being threatened by police to make us leave...with all the nights ive been there, paying 3 at a time without the 1 night free and another time paying 4 nights without the promotion again, so ive been there like 2 weeks and have gotten only 1 night free. I am not a happy camper. If there is anything yall can do to make this a bit easier on me id be forever grateful, ...thanks so much.

Serious complaints re:
Motel 6 Extended Stay, Phillips Highway and Baymeadows Road, Jacksonville, Florida.
I and others had the misfortune of working temp assignments at this so-called motel. (Late July to present.)
At first glance, the place looks like it's not even up to health and safety codes.
Management provides no vacuum cleaners; rather, they sweep out rooms and other areas with dirty brooms.
Trash cans and dumpsters were/are overflowing regularly, which filth attracts rats and other vermin.
Bedbugs and roaches were spotted in and about the rooms.
There is credible and irrefutable evidence of illegal drug use, possible illegal drug sales and transport, chronic drunkenness/alcoholism, and other criminal and anti-social behavior by their tenants/guests/invitees.
On September 9, 2018, at or about 8 am, a temp worker was harassed, insulted, slandered, and constructively threatened by two of their so-called tenants, who appeared to be intoxicated/stoned, or just plain psychotic/neurotic.
This complaint will be filed with the FLORIDA DEPARTMENT of BUSINESS and PUBLIC REGULATION, hotel/motel division, for investigation.
room maintenance
I arrived at this Motel 6 on September 6th 2018. Approximately 9:45 pm.
Checked in and went to the room and the light on the left side of bed didn't work to Connie, the clerk on duty, about 11pm.
The bed sheets had stains on them so I couldn't sleep under the covers. Reported that to room attendants the next morning about 7 am.
Checking my bank account via the internet and discovered that the Motel had already took payment after the first day of a 4 night stay.
Can they do that? I thought they took payment at the end of your stay at checkout.
Note: Clerk Connie was a delight to talk to and showed me her notes that she had written down. She did her job well.
On Saturday morning I went down stairs to get some coffee and found none to be had. What? That was about 7:45 am.
I have stayed at Motel 6 and doing business with them for about 30 years and never had I had this happen to me before.
Don't think I'll be back after this.

This was the strangest travel experience I have had. The Motel 6 ads say "We'll leave the light on for ya", but that is apparently not the case with this particular franchise if you don't keep checking in with them prior to arrival. We booked three rooms via booking.com on a Saturday night because we were filming a music video down by the beach. They started calling us in the afternoon to confirm that we were coming and asking what time we would arrive. We explained that we were filming and really couldn't give them a time, because after filming we had to clean up and then we wanted to go to dinner. They said that they needed to be sure we were coming, so I said they they could go ahead and charge my card. They said they weren't allowed to do that, so I had to tell them when were would get there. I told them it would be as late as 11. At 10 pm I called back as a courtesy to say we were still at dinner and would be there soon. I said that the rooms were just sitting there and I was happy to have my card charged, so I didn't understand what the urgency was about giving them a time. The guy on the phone, named Sam Wilson, according to the police (I'll get to that later), got agitated and started rambling about their policy and lecturing me about how I needed to tell him when I would get there. I'm 56 years old. I've traveled a lot. Never been badgered like this about my itinerary when I've booked a room. I said "ok, we'll be there within four hours. But I will probably not give you guys the best review. This is a little much."
An hour later we arrived at that motel and he said that I was rude and since I said I was giving them a bad review he was allowed to cancel our rooms. I was flabbergasted! Keep in mind, there were six other people sitting there when I made those phone calls. They all confirm that I was not rude. I did not swear. I simply questioned how I was being treated. We were four professional, middle-aged adults standing in the lobby of a motel 6 being told we no longer had rooms on a busy Saturday night and had to leave the premises. He then said he would call the police. We asked for the name of the owners or top management and he refused. We asked for his name and he refused. Then the police showed up while we were calling corporate headquarters of Motel 6 and apologized profusely. They said he calls them constantly and gave us suggestions of other, nicer places to stay. They were super helpful and encouraged us to file a formal complaint, which we will. They eagerly provided his name because they said they were sick of him calling them constantly about nothing. I don't plan to ever book a motel 6 again, ever. I write this from the Holiday Inn down the street. MUCH nicer, and worth the extra money. As a follow-up: HE CHARGED OUR CARD! Told Booking.com we were a no-show! How can you be a no-show when you are standing in the lobby and they are calling the police on you?! The Customer Care rep I spoke with said we could have shown up at 4am and expected our rooms to be there. THAT IS WHAT A RESERVATION IS! We even took a picture of him. How can you be a no-show if you are taking a picture of the person? The locals told us that place was sold and is being torn down and replaced with something else and everyone is delighted. Maybe that is why Sam Wilson doesn't care?
