Selling the CC info to PARENTING Mag
We went to the shop located in the Pentagon City mall in VA in August and purchased some dress. We are very sure that we never opted to purchase any magazine. In the last two months, we got couple of PARENTING magazine and assumed that it was free sample. We are sure because never we gave the credit card info. Couple of days back, there was a charge for PARENTING mag. on my CC.
We are totally panicked and called the mag. office. They disclosed that they got the info from Pentagon store. This was really nightmare and very shocking. PARENTING kindly agreed to post back the money in 3 to 4 weeks.
Be carefull with motherhood-maternity!
fraude
In October 20 without authorization they took $20 of the credit card of my mother .
Two months ago I went with my mom at motherhood store (Mimi )and she gift me a pijama. And now she received this charge in her credit card. Unbeliavable.
Same as everyone else. Supposedly "I" signed up (subscribed for a free trial) at a Motherhood Maternity store when making a purchase which is completely not true. I called [protected], and it starts out with a recording saying how people were signed up for free trial and you could either cancel or continue. I talked to one of the customer service representatives who was very apologetic and said that I had signed up at a Motherhood Maternity but could cancel and to disregard any future invoices. This is a complete scam between Motherhood Maternity and Parenting magazine which is very frustrating.
Same thing folks. Went to motherhood, then got a $20 charge on the credit card. Called and was told refund is on the way.
Thanks all!
I bought at Motherhood as well, and I did sign a paper which was a special promotion with Parenting Magazine saying if you sign you will get two free issues and if you don't cancel after receiving the second issue they will assume you like the magazine and charge your card directly for a year's subscription. I normally read everything I sign, but the lady who rung me up at Motherhood also explained the promotion to me. I think Motherhood Maternity staff should have explained the promotion to all of you as well rather than just having you sign. I received my second issue about 2 days ago and I just called the 1800 number to tell them I wanted to cancel because I felt the magazine wasn't for me. She canceled it then and there no questions asked...now hopefully I don't find a surprise $20 charge on my card in the next month! :)
i dont get it you have to sign for info to be transferred? i think people just need to pay attention!
This happened to me too!just found a 20$ charge on the credit card bill. So ridiculous! I called the number and the lady asked if we shopped at Motherhood before. I said yes but we never subscribed for the magazine. She said we signed a paper with motherhood (I only remember we signed the bill at motherhood...geeze), if we don't cancel after 2 trial magazine of motherhood...then we are considered that we subscribed for the magazine and that's why they charge us the 20 dollars.
I am very disappointed with what motherhood and parenting magazine are doing. They should STOP doing this and stealing money from expecting family in this tight financial situation.
this is absolutely ridiculous it happened to me too! this company needs to be shut down and held responsible for what they are doing. If money wasnt tight enough in homes today they are making it worse by sneeking in these charges.
SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME!
my girlfriend is expecting, and i bought her some clothes there, and they gave us a free trial of a magazine, so we took it... about 2 months later, i got a 20 dollar charge...
but i did call, and they are going to "cancel" my account for the magazine, and refund the money back to my account.
just call the number, and they will simply ask you a few questions, and then ur done.
[protected]
This happend to me aswell, Icalled the number. I had to cancel my card though because my bank said that my account could be hiy again...so everyone might want to think about that.
Yes the same thing happened to me! Thankyou to whoever left the 1800 number above me. I just called it and they SAID that they would refund me 20$. So Im just hoping they follow through with it. So if it has happened to you call [protected].
The same thing happened to me. I called my bank and they gave me a number to contact them. I was able to cancel it and get a refund.
the number is [protected]
I hope this helps anybody who needs it!
Fraudulant charges
2 months ago I went into a motherhood maternity store and made a purchase. This last week (october 20th) I looked at my online credit card statement and a 20$ charge from WPI Parenting magazine was on there. I have never purchased a parenting magazine, have never used this credit card online and the charge wasn't even under my name it was under my sister-in-laws. I called WPI parenting magazine and they informed me that when I made the purchase at motherhood maternity, they gained access to my credit card information and authorized the 20$ purchase of the parenting magazine. I am filing a complaint with Motherhood Maternity and with WPI Parenting Magazine. I never thought that shopping in a mall especially a maternity store would turn out this way.
I had a baby 4 days ago and he is staying in the NICU...this has caused me a lot of financial strain with staying in hotels and eating oout. 2 months ago I bought a work shirt at Motherhood Maternity and this one time purchase apparently gave them the right to release my credit card information to WPI Parenting Magazine...as if my week has net been stressful enough, now I have to dispute fraudulant charges on my account! Thanks a lot Motherhood Maternity! NEVER AGAIN WILL I SHOP THERE...this is wrong on so many levels, now I have a sick new baby, and an overdrafted bank account and have to transfer from savings just to cover my ###...it's bull
Three years later and they are still doing this! It happened to me today. I called corporate, the magazine and the branch I shopped at, but I am sure it won't matter. I am sure I will eventually get my money refunded, but I that is not the point! I am boycotting Motherhood Maternity and telling all my friends to do the same.
I was also charged $20.00 by Parenting Magazine two months after making a purchase at Motherhood Maternity in California. When I made my purchase the "sales associate" asked if I would like a FREE copy of Parenting Magazine. I asked the cashier if I would be obligated to purchase a subscription if I accepted the free copy and was assured I would NOT be signed up for a subscription. I asked this question multiple times, each time I was guaranteed that I would not be signed up for a subscription. Well, two month's later I was. I never received a bill in the mail asking if I wanted to subscribe to the magazine, never received an email, phone call, ANYTHING. Just a $20.00 charge on my credit card.
I called the credit card company who provided me with the contact information for Parenting Magazine. I called Parenting Magazine and they promptly cancelled the unwanted subscription and refunded the charge. But I never should have had to take this step in the first place!
I filed a complaint with both the California AG's office, as that is where I made the purchase, and the Texas AG's office as this is where I reside. I received a letter from the State of California from the company that more that irritated me. Long letter short Dan Vogel, the "Marketing (Scam) Director" stated that:
1 - the "sales associate" should have explained to me that I would be charged after the first free (outdated) issue was received;
2 - the "sales associate" should have directed me to the signature pad that contained the "offer" details and authorizes payment;
3 - Parenting Magazine acknowledges the subscription with a bill in the mail.
Well, considering the cashier stated over and over and over again, Mr. Vogel, that I was under NO OBLIGATION to sign up for a magazine subscription, and considering the cashier never once mentioned that when I signed my name for a FREE (outdated) copy of the magazine I would automatically enroll in a subscription, I can see where I would be upset that I WAS signed up for a magazine subscription while never receiving any billing statement or notice giving me the opportunity to decline a paid subscription.
I am preparing a response to Mr. Vogel, cc'ing California's AG, and including a listing of websites with dozens of complaints regarding this practice. I guess I can safely say this, NOTHING IS FREE! No matter how many times the cashier states it is...
I also bought a pair of jeans at motherhood a month or so and today my husband found out the $20 charge from this magazine like many of you never signed nothing other than my receipts the cashier never explained that there store had this automatic subscription arrangementits the second time I buy here but first time this has happen now at least I know that although is not something good um not the only one that has been aggravated in this eway and is ridiculous that all this years of scams and the are still operating what a shame because from today on I will never buy in that store and of all the people I know will hear off this and hopefully won't buy ether maybe by loosening some clientele they will do something about it. Now to start the complaint and ask for the refund hopefully my husband will be receiving the $20 back as for me the bitterness of this incidence will last but its really a shame.
Same thing happened to us. We recently made an in-store purchase from Destination Maternity in NYC. A little over a month later, we were charged $20 from Parenting Early Years for a subscription we did NOT make.
Somehow, Parenting Magazine is illegally getting access to Motherhood Maternity customer's credit card information and fraudulently charging them.
Take away point, we and our friends will NEVER purchase another product from Destination Maternity and their affiliate stores *and* will never purchase any product from Parenting Magazine publishing company as well.

Had the same issue, called to cancel subscription but they charged 20 dollars month later
I purchased product from Motherhood and received one book a month later. A couple weeks later I see a charge on my credit card, I was very mad. I called Parenting Magazine and she told me it came from Motherhood and asked me if I signed a free subscription, I dont remember now, but still if I did Motherhood has no right turning over my credit info. Parenting Mag. is refunding me. Very not happy I will not go back to that store
We had the same thing happen to us in the Great Lakes Mall Maternity store. There was a $20 charge which I got reversed by calling the toll free number. I am very unhappy with them and will not buy anything with them ever again
The same thing happened to me. I recieved a bill for the magazine. I was under the impression that I would be recieving one FREE magazine and thats it, but then a bill showed up and yet another magazine. I didnt look at my bank statement to see if they actually used my credit card for this magazine yet, but i will be looking into this more. I DO NOT believe they can legally do this to us! As if pregnancy isnt stressfull enough, now we have to deal with this B.S!
Unauthorized Charge
As I was going through my checking account statement online last night, I noticed a $20 charge for a parenting magazine. I asked my wife if she ordered any magazines lately and she told me no. There was a 1-800 number that went along with the $20 charge that showed on the bank’s online statement, so I called it to ask what the charge was and where it came from. Apparently, when my wife was shopping a few months ago at Motherhood Maternity at the Carousel Mall, she “authorized” a magazine subscription simply by signing the credit card receipt. I told the lady I was speaking to that I thought that was fraudulent and deceiving and she offered to remove the charge and cancel the subscription if I gave her my credit card information-which I told her she must already have to charge me in the first place. I told her I would let my bank take care of it, which I am doing this morning. Make sure you look over your bank statements…
Yes I agree. I come across the same issue with the Pentagon City store in VA
Scam artists
I bought 2 nursing bras and asked the sales clerk what the standard rule is (I was trying to buy them in advance as I didn't want to wait until after the baby was born to try & find nursing bras, therefore I didn't know what size I would be). The clerk told me to go up one number size and one cup size, which I did. She put the receipt in the bag and never mentioned the return/exchange policy to me. About a month later (only 5 months pregnant at this time, so I still haven't had a need for the nursing bras yet) I was at Victoria's Secret and was measured and found that I was already bigger than I ever imagined. Knowing I had bought the wrong size nursing bras from Motherhood Maternity, I tried to exchange them 9 days later at a store closer to my home. The sales clerk at this store informed me of their "no exchange policy" on intimate apparel, but at this point, the information had come too late. She further informed me of the 10 day exchange policy. Strike two against me. I wish I'd known the rules before I played this game. I called the manager of the store from which I bought the items and she reiterated that the policy can't be changed. Okay, fine, but her sales clerk had several opportunities to inform me of these policies and she didn't. As the 2nd store clerk pointed out, she was supposed to have me initial the receipt where their policies are spelled out. Since the receipt remained in the bag until the time I attempted to make exchange, and I was not otherwise informed of these silly policies, I had no way of knowing these policies even existed. I never tried on the bras in the store - what would be the point? Whether they fit at that point or not wouldn't determine if they were going to fit when it was time to nurse. Sorry, I'm getting off track. I explained to the manager of the 1st store how & why I never knew of these policies until the day I tried to exchange them. She said she'd call the sales clerk that sold them to me and she'd call me back. She repeated the number to me perfectly. After several hours with no phone call from her, I called her back. She told me she transposed the numbers of my phone number, which is odd since she was able to repeat it back to me with no problem earlier. She told me to bring the items in and she would exchange them. She told me to bring them in over the weekend because she would need to be there for the exchange to happen. I asked what hours she would be there over the weekend and she proceeded to give me the store hours. I asked if she would be there that whole time because I figured she wouldn't work the whole time the store was open over the weekend and she said she would be there. I showed up Saturday night around 7:30 and the sales clerk said she left at 5pm. I informed her she told me she would be there until 9pm and the clerk stated that the manager was only scheduled to work until 5pm. I was PO'd! Gas costs $4 per gallon now! The clerk tried to call, but was forced to leave a message for the manager. I asked if the clerk could by chance do the exchange and her response was that the manager told her about me & that if I came in she was not to do the exchange - the manager would need to be there. The manager ended up calling me at my house after I'd returned home and said I should have called before I came. I reminded her of our discussion when she assured me she would be there all weekend. She told me she doesn't "live there." She further told me she wasn't going to do the exchange now. Then she hung up on me.
Motherhood Maternity's return/exchange policy is ridiculous. They know that since you are only pregnant 9 months, it isn't worth it to you to fight over a mere $30 and that it's much easier for you to give in and just take your loss. These $30 here and there add up for them. The fact that it is "only $30" is even more incentive for them to deny any attempts at refunds or exchanges because they count on most people caving in & eating their $30 loss. I'm not putting up with it. The policy makes no sense. Regardless of how long you are pregnant, if something doesn't work for you, you should be able to remedy the situation. They can still sell any exchanged/returned items, regardless of this comical 10 day return/exchange policy.
That place has pulled scam after scam, and from reading these complaint boards, it looks like this has been going on for some time. Simply stating "it's against our policy" doesn't make it okay. If you are reading this - DO NOT SHOP AT MOTHERHOOD MATERNITY. It is for your own good. There are plenty of other places out there to fit your maternity needs.
I just had a similar experience at Motherhood Maternity. I don't think you should have let it go. The clerk didn't pay attention to the tags when she checked me out and she overcharged me $34.99 for a shirt that's tag read $29.99 and she charged me $39.99 for a shirt that's tag was marked down to $24.99. I noticed when I got home and I went back the next day to get a $20.00 refund. The clerk told me that they could only give me a store credit. I told her that this was unacceptable because it was the clerk's mistake, not mine. After going back and forth, she told me she would have to contact a general manger on Monday and let me know if they could mail me the check. I am done with Motherhood Maternity. Their policies are ridiculous! I would understand if I was bringing something back and I needed to exchange it but this was money that I was charged due to a clerk's carelessness. They also never mentioned their no return policy when I checked out. Very bad business!
I was told awhile back by a sales clerk when I told her I was hesiant to buy any clothes yet, because I have recurrent miscarriages she said they have a policy if you miscarry. I think she said if you have a medical condtion that you can have a refund on the clothes or something like that. I have miscarried, but never got around to trying to get a refund...so I'm not sure if this policy is legit.
Maybe you should have tried the bras on first, and did you initial the reciept? I would really just let it go.
Customer Service
I purchased a pair of maternity pants that were tagged for $16. The clerk rang in my purchase (they have the monitors that don't allow you to see each purchase that is being rung in) and right before I signed my credit card receipt I realized that I had been charged $20 for the pants. When I told her, she said that she would issue me a store credit for $4. I asked her why it couldn't be a cash or credit card refund since it was their mistake and she said that it was store policy. I asked her what I could possibly buy in the store for $4 and she said, you could put it on a gift card and give it to someone else! Finally, I asked to speak to the manager (who was standing right next to her, listening to the whole conversation and never offered to help) and she voided the purchase. I will never shop there again.
"It's our store policy" seems to be used far too frequently as a defense for these people. They can't just say that and get away with this crap. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and I urge the rest of you to do the same. If nothing is done, they will just prey on the next unsuspecting pregnant hormonal woman that comes along.
Pushy customer service and lousy products!
I have been reading the previous complaints about this company and it is amazing how similar the stories are to my own several states away in Albany, New York. I thought that the salespeople were very pushy and tried to get me to buy expensive items that I did not come in to buy, and then would get huffy with me because I wanted to look around the store at my own pace, and was not interested in the products they were trying to pawn on me. I needed a maternity belt, and that did help, but again, was being pushed to buy something else with it, and when I did not, the woman was very brisque with me and practically threw my purchase at me after I paid and ran away to tend to another customer before I even had a chance to put my money back in my wallet.
I made the grave mistake of purchasing maternity underwear from this company and CAVEAT EMPTOR (BUYER BEWARE!) to anyone thinking of making similar purchases there. The underwear were in packages, so it was impossible to figure out what size they were, and they are so shoddily made that they fall off, or have ripped at the seams. Unfortunately, when I first got pregnant and needed maternity clothing, this was the only place to purchase maternity underwear, but I finally got fed up and was much happier with larger size Hanes regular underwear.
Terrible customer service!
I purchased an outfit from one store. When I got home, I discovered that the shirt had a security tag. I returned to the store to have the tag removed and was told the store did not have the device to remove it. They called another mall - across town - to find out if the other Motherhood store had the device. They didn't. I was told that I'd have to return with the pants a few days later when the manager was in to return the outfit. I asked if I could exchange the shirt for the shirt on another outfit in the same size with the same pants. I was told no.
I returned with the entire outfit a few days later. The manager offered either an exchange or store credit. I asked for a refund. She said that she'd have to fill out a form and submit it to headquarters. Headquarters would likely deny the refund because the outfit was not returned because of a "medical condition". This whole process would take 4-6 weeks.
A medical condition? Why in the world would I share a medical condition with Motherhood Maternity?
I am really appalled at their "customer service".
I recently tried to get a refund because the shirt I bought had a security tag and they couldn't remove it. I was told that a refund would take 4-6 weeks and would probably be denied because I don't have a medical reason. I'm sorry, but it's their fault that the shirt is unwearable, not mine. And even if I did have a medical reason, I'm surely not going to tell them!

Several months after my son was born I decided it was time to buy some new nursing bras, I had been shopping at motherhood throughout my pregnancy and bought a few nursing shirts there as well so obviously that's where I went to get my nursing bra.
The employee there was not very helpful, I asked her how to tell what size I was and how to tell if the bra I tried on fit properly and the only advice she had for me was that it should "touch my skin all around", she never offered to measure me and I didn't think to ask her to (after all it wasn't victoria's secret). I thought this was going to be the most comfortable bra I'd ever worn but after 1 hour of wearing it, it was obvious that exactly the opposite was going to happen. The underwire dug into my skin on both sides and it was too small, I tried to exchange it for another size a few days later but the girl told me "all sales are final".
Motherhood has lost a loyal customer and I'll stick to buying my nursing bras at walmart from now on, at least they let me exchange no questions with a receipt.
motherhood doesn't use security tags
A medical condtion means you miscarried. I was told if you miscarry they will refund you. It's to keep people from returning clothes after they are done being pregnant for money. The same reason you can't return a wedding dress, because people would return the dress after the wedding was over to get their money back. So that is why those type of stores offer store credit only.
Oh, and the fact that you mentioned how you would rather shop at wal mart shows how stupid you really are. I am so sure you will get measured there and be able to buy a used nursing bra with dried milk in it.
How stupid are you to now know how a bra fits you? I have never needed to be measured for a bra, nursing or otherwise, its all basic. Quit picking on underpaid retail employess and work on your basic intellegence.
I have worked in customer service for a number of years and all I have to say is I'm sorry for your experience. If you want a good nursing bra you need to go to a specialty shop to get fit. They guarantee their bras if they fit them and you should ask them if they do BEFORE you get fit. As a bra fitter I know the importance of this. Because Motherhood is a chain store, often their sales staff is not properly trained to fit, they are trained to sell. I always recommend anything by Anita, they have great nursaing bras, and of course my own brand, Milk and Honey Designs, which will be available next spring, not much help to you now:) If you have any questions about bras or how they fit please feel free to email me and maybe I can point you in the right direction.
Blessings,

Rude employees
I went into a Motherhood store in the San Gabriel Valley, Ca. I wanted to buy a single stretch mark cream. One of the ladies working there suggested i buy 6 small ones which equaled the same price as one large one. She said that I would get more for my money this way. However, I know that if I had so many bottles I'd loose most of them. So, I said no. I'll take just one. She rudely snapped back, then why by it.
Every time I go in there they ask me 100's o questions. Try to force you to sign up for their credit card. I am tempted to never shop their again.
motherhood maternity forces employees to badger customers. it's a terrible company, and its emplooyes should not take the fall.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
yeah bc if they dont bug you about that dumb credit card or try to get you to buy four or more items they are not doing their job. everyone has a boss and im sure you do what your told or its your ### on the line. thats your money and your way to pay bills. same with people that work at motherhood. so dont get mad at them. its prob the hormones. and dont foget they are the maternity EXPERTS!
I am sure they wouldn't miss you.
Poor customer service
The employees of this store made us feel small and almost guilty for not buying more items. After trying on a few things my wife only wanted the shorts for 16.99, the manager (I presume) began a barrage of questioning as to why we did not want to buy other items and with a very poor attitude at that. Then after finally avoiding her, the girl who ran our credit card asked us for a bunch of sensitive personal information all without telling us why!?! Then, she forced us to take a credit card application even after we said no. Then to top it all off, after the sale was complete, she told us there was no returns on the item we bought because it was a sale item... AFTER we bought it. This is very poor customer service and we vowed not to shop there again.
I shop online almost exclusively. I am pregnant and have continued that trend utilizing the destination maternity website. I placed an order on Sunday evening and the website offered 2-day shipping for an additional $16. The website said that, based on the time of my order, the items would be shipped out on Tuesday and I would receive them on Thursday. I am going out of town for Friday so, despite a deep rooted aversion to shipping costs at all, I made the additional investment to get the clothes for my trip.
Today, I received an email that said one of the five items I ordered was shipped. I called the “customer service” line to inquire about the remaining items. What proceeded was the most horrific customer interaction I have ever been a part of. From the minute I explained my situation, the customer service representative, Dione, was surly and condescending. I asked about the rest of the items and while she was looking them up, she took the opportunity to scold me for not reading the fine print. You see, apparently at Destination Maternity, items go out of stock all the time and the website includes verbiage which releases them from any promise made to a customer about shipment times. She said, “there could have been a hundred other people who ordered those items that night and beat you to it”.
Okay. So, I didn’t read the small print and believed that if I paid for 2-day shipping that my items would be shipped and delivered on the days advertised by the website. I guess that was my error? In the years I have been shopping online, that has never been an issue, but I was told they reserve the right to change shipment dates at will. She tried to comfort me, though, by explaining that when the backordered items were shipped that I wouldn’t be charged the $16 again. Really? Would a reasonable person even expect that?
At this point, I was frustrated, not only by the situation and the representative’s lack of knowledge about the availability of my items and a timeline on when they would be shipped, but by the complete lack of respect from this person. She was rude, interrupted me, and essentially said that the situation was my fault for not reading the fine print on the website.
I then asked why I wasn’t notified that all of these items were on backorder. Obviously I paid for expedited shipping because I needed them quickly so I asked why I wasn’t informed. Her response was, and I am not exaggerating, : “we don’t have time to email every customer with a backordered item. We would be sending out hundreds of emails a day.” Really?
At this point, I was so shocked at the responses she was giving me and the caliber of customer service that I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was informed that she could pass along a message and I would receive a call within 24 hours. Even though the call center was in Philadelphia (EST) and it was 3:00, I couldn’t speak to anyone about my horrible experience.
I ended up leaving a message for a woman who I assume was a manager or supervisor and have yet to get a phone call. This was the single worst experience I have ever had with any store: online or otherwise. Not only do I plan to avoid shopping at these stores moving forward, I would suggest other pregnant women be careful when trusting their orders and money to Motherhood Maternity's online website.
I am sure they don't care, if you are only buying one item they would rather you didn't anyway.
Ridiculous return policy/customer service
I bought a Pre-natal Listener a few months ago from the store in Palmdale, CA. When I got home, I opened the box and found a battery in place and a missing manual. These were evidences that the item sold to me was not brand new in the box. The box was labeled "BATTERIES NOT INCLUDED " but contained one. How else would the manual be missing as well? I...

Two days after Christmas I went into the Motherhood Maternity Store at Town Center Mall in Kennesaw, Georgia. I spent a little time browsing around and came a really cute dress on a clearance rack. The first one I picked up happened to be my size and the price tag said $12.99. I loved it and the price was right so I made a beeline to the dressing room to try it on and see how it looked. I was very excited that I had found something that fit well and at a great price so I took it up to the desk to pay. As the, I assume, manager began to ring me up she told me that the ticket was marked incorrectly and the dress was actually $29.99. She said that since there were still dresses on the rack that were marked at $29.99 she could not authorize the purchase for $12.99. I asked her to please call her district manager for the approval since the mismarked dress was not my fault and I had not even seen the other price tags. It was a huge let down for me. She said that her DM was not available that day and she could not reach her. I asked her to give me a number with which I could contact the DM to complain and also asked her to hold the dress for me which she did. At this point, my two year old daughter that I had with me was hungry and tired so I decided to leave the mall and go home.
When I got to my car and out of the parking lot, I called the number expecting to be able to leave a message for "Angie". When I dialed the number, I reached the store I had JUST been in. The associate that answered the phone realized that I was the customer that had just left the store 10 minutes before and told me that the DM had JUST called and authorized the sale so I could come back in and purchase the dress.
This really hacked me off because with a stroller I had to go through hoops to get to their store because I had to go half way down the mall to use the elevator, not to mention I had just given up my parking place at the mall two days after Christmas, and I had a cranky child with me.
I do not for one minute believe that their DM "just happened" to call as soon as I left. I believe that I called their bluff and they realized that they had no choice but to concede before the complaint went up the chain of command. I believe one of two things happened... either they were worried about keeping their average dollar per sale up or the company just does not empower their employees to make decisions that are the best for their customers. Neither option is good for business!
I work in a retail and customer service environment and would die if my associates made shopping at my store so inconvienient. I did finally call the DM and leave a message on her company voicemail. It is now January 12th and I still have not heard back from anyone at this company with even the slightest apology. An apology would have gone a long way. Now they have lost a customer for life, one that happens to be a member of a large mommy group and will share her story of terrible customer service with many mommies and mommies to be...
Motherhood Maternity cashiers are the worst, she did not know what the price was on the item, she called some other store, at the end i did not even ended up buying it. I think her name was Katleen, from the Chicago Ridge Mall, in Oak Lawn, IL.
I got the worst service every, and I was the only person in the store and I was not even helped.
I would not return to this store ever again. Told my friends, co-works and family. They said that it was a waste of my time going there, that I could of gotten the same item for lesser price at a different store.
I tried to return a shirt recently because it had a security tag on it that they couldn't remove. I was told the only way that I'm getting a refund is if I returned it because of a medical condition!
