MultiChoice Africa / DSTV fraud and poor service

I called in about 2 months ago to activate my newly purchased decoder, to my surprise they told me that my acc is owing. This shocked me because I've never had an acc with multichoice before. It was my very first time. I then physically went to multichoice the following day and it happened to be a case of fraud whereby someone opened an account using my details. I was told to provide a copy of my ID and an affidavit. They said they would send the matter to risk and fraud. I haven't beem called to get an update of what's happening. Im the one that has to keep calling to find out if there is any progress of which is a waste of time cos the agents fail to help me and keep saying i must b patient. It's been 2 months without access to DSTV... they simply dont care. This is the worst service i have experienced.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV propaganda

I am looking at this video on trace channel 325. On sunday 4th march at 15h20. A Song by kwesta, wale callef spirit, with a old south african flag draped around a african male. With a tyre around the neck and a burnt down shack. Inappropiate i would say. If a white person just shows a old flag it is blown up and it will make frontline news. How do you allow this on national tv. No wonder our country cannot heal. Because of this kind of propaganda...

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV dstv premium/showmax

Dear Madam/Sir,

Your service is giving me a lot of worries. You don't do what you are telling me you will do and that is destroying trust, while my trust in DSTV is already very low, due to experiences in several African countries.

My smart card number is: [protected] (Nigeria)

A.
You offered me three months Premium and paying only for one month. I paid 28/2/2018 an amount of 14.700 Naira for March, April and May 2018.

When I go to my account it shows clearly that my due date is 27/03/2018. I have to pay by that date 29.400 Naira.

Is this your offer? I have proof by SMS that you gave me this offer. I request you to solve this problem immediately and to inform me what I can expect from DSTV.

B.
Another problem is that your agents in Osogbo and Ilesha can't do a professional job. They use nails to mount my dish to the wall. They should use a drill, plugs and proper screws to connect the dish firmly. The dish is not secured and the wind can be strong here. There was no signal because of bad performance of your 'professional' agents. I had to request an agent to come back again and fix the problem. That is what he tried to do yesterday. The signal is now:

Signal strength: 63%
Signal quality: 81%

At the moment I can't receive many channels, like also the sport channels 200 and up. I have to pay extra money to the agent to fix the dish, but the Premium package is not working here in Ilesha.

C.
Your Nigerian DSTV website is telling me that I can use Showmax. So I registered... now it does not work on the tv and they are telling me it is only working in South Africa. Why to have this Showmax commercial on your Nigerian website, while you can't broadcast it via DSTV Nigeria. Kindly explain me how it works and how I can perhaps use it in another way.

D.
To connect to DSTV by phone is almost impossible. The reception is bad, there is a lot of blah blah information by computer voices. Kindly allow customers to speak immediately with a customer service representative. We don't have time for blah blah and confusing commercials by phone. Also the volume is loud and soft from several types of computers talking to us on the phone. My ears are suffering from the sudden loud volume that is coming up. It makes customers aggressive when this happens to them and it will not be nice for your own employees to deal with aggressive customers. It is so extremely silly to treat your customers like you do over the phone. Please try to replace yourself in the position of the customers and the age of the customer.

It is now 10 am and I started to connect myself to you from 8:10 am... and still the problems are not solved. Kindly solve my problems, better don't call me as the line will not be professional. Also the free toll numbers are not at all working. I lost 3000 Naira and a lot of time trying to connect to DSTV, but no results. Kindly support me and do what a professional organization should do.

I will send this e-mail also to your Headquarter office in South Africa, I really hope something can be done. Thank you!

Regards and best wishes,

Edwin Robert

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV subscription disconnection

Hi Please see below call references for the same issue since 06/02/18
[protected]- I42(06/02/18)
[protected]-I49(11/02/18)
[protected]-I63(21/02/18)
7923706-I70(26/02/18)
[protected]-I80(03/03/18)

My subscription is paid via debit order, When I call the customer service on all times i was told this is the first time they are dealing with this query, why is a reference being given if the call is not being resolved? I have asked for this call to be escalated on all occasions and still no joy, my subscription was cut of totally today by Joan Mothibi(Supervisor) for no reasonable explanation.

I have to call wasting even more time and money by being given poor explanations and excuses as to why i am being disconnected all the time.

The service level of MultiChoice DSTV Africa is appalling and has really left me as a customer extremely frustrated.

Please can this matter be dealt with urgently.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV service providers

I had my decoder exchanged via insurance with a free installation and change to smart LNB. The agent informed me that an I stalker will call me and being a Sunday I waited till Monday. No one called. I called your contact centre and was given two numbers...Reliance TV and some cable company. All this while the allocated installer had still not called. The reason I expected the call as I was given the numbers with the proviso that the allocated one will still call.
I booked an appointment tent with Reliance TV. They did not pitch.

Is your company really serious with these I stallers you appointment?
It's now getting closer to 72 hours and dololo

You guys don't appreciate customers if there was an alternate supplier of digital TV. ..we would have been gone. We don't keep our subscriptions for your programs but rather there sports. Programs we can subscribe to apple...Google or netflix..
My proposal is jack up the design of your call centre and it's capability of a one stop call and rethink your service providers

They are very poor in that payment department. I call them every second day as they keep on disconnecting the service despite my many proof of payments I send to them. It is like every adviser must capture your payment then the next one will disconnect you .

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV overcharged

I subscribed to the price lock service and explora decoder. 1st payment in December went off with no problems, January payment went off and they overcharge me by R700... I have tried contacting before, even sent a mail... No response, had a previous problem with Dstv when they overcharged me and waited almost 4 months for them to pay me back, is this going to be another of those cases?

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV price lock experience

Ive had a price lock experience for 2 years for R899pm with an extra-view setup and came to an end upon expiration. The consultant called asking if I would like a new price lock experience or continue with the old package with the monthly rates.

I opted for the new price lock experience costing R959pm for the next two years, They have delivered the new decoder in the month of December 27th to be specific. Debit order dates are the 1st of each month. Come January a pro-rata debit order has been charged for the new decoder and the old one simultaneously of which is correct.

The decoder was installed in the month of January with the new price lock of R959 and the old one came to an end, but surprisingly the 1st of February a debit order of R1646, 46 has been debited as opposed to R959. I called in to query this and they have told me that I have an outstanding balance on my previous price lock account and was due so charged me on that.

I explained hows that possible if I have been up to date with all payments and that when the new decoder installed with extra view and each month debit orders have been made and when the new decoder was installed I called in post the installer calling to notify of the installation and to activate the new decoder with the extra view and to cease the old price lock.

To date I have called and spoken to a number of consultants to query as to the overcharge on my account and to credit my account and going forward one account is active.

The old account has been closed and just one account is on file but the credit that I have due to the overcharge has not been addressed, journals have been raised and finance rejected due to insufficient evidence WHAT SHOULD THE EVIDENCE OR SUPPORT BE?

So DSTV I humbly ask to sort out your systems an refund my money and to all of those customers that had the same issue

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV dstv

Dear DSTV,

I find it completely unacceptable of how much we pay each month for our dstv subscription, yet there is only 10 movies on Catch up to view. Instead of trying to promote more packages to your consumers, why don't you focus on providing a top service in which we are getting our full money's worth! Now we are instead forced to pay for the wide selection you put on Boxoffice.

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV dstv panelist

Good Morning

this month of February 2018, i paid my DSTV on the 06th of February 2018 but it was disconnected four times. Everytime when i make a call they tell me that i have sufficient money to view and it shows that i have paid on the 06th but i don't understand why am i being disconnected. this frustate me and my children because there are programs that we misss due to this matter.

I joined the panel (i think it's 04 years ago) stands to be corrected. This week i received call from the panelist department to be told that i will no longer form part of the panel because they haven't recieved any information from my household. My complain about this matter is that i haven't received any call from you guys for any questions and the last call i received i believe i provided you guys with sufficient information. i think i deserve proper explanation regarding the matter and the person who called was just informing me about the decision taken and i don't even understand your reason for taking that decision.

Regards
Mmabangwe

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV unethical behaviour

Complaint - DSTV recorder regularly rescans at set times
Complaint 1 - 21st February
Account [protected]
For several weeks my decoder automatically rescans at set times and it's getting worse. Today it was 18h00, 19h00, 20h10, 21h20, 22h00 and now 22h50. This is very suspicious!
I am 100% sure the decoder equipment is sound. I bought it new from DSTV. It is a very simple piece of kit. I believe it is the software and data that DSTV provides that causes the rescans. In fact, I believe it is done on purpose to force me to upgrade to an explora. I believe this because I used to be a computer programmer and understand these things. DSTV put something in the code to rescan when it receives a certain command. I know this is dishonest, however as I said I'm a computer programmer, so in legal terms would this be regarded as fraud, or is it extortion. Very hard to prove I know, however I believe someone out there knows what's going on and will spill the beans soon. So, DSTV stop these rescans. You provide the software so take out the rescans, put in better error recovery. I pay R809 every month for what is becoming a joke. Do I really have to spend more money to get a decent service?

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV disservice by kenyan operation

On 14 February 2018, I made payments against two DSTV smart card through the self-serve portal. I used the option of paying by credit card through the Pesapal platform.

It appears that the Multichoice and the Pesapal systems do not speak to each other. Even though I provided Multichoice with evidence of payment and Pesapal confirmed this to them, to date these payments are yet to be reflected on the accounts.

In the meantime, service was disconnected for alleged non-payment. Even though I called twice on Friday, 16 February and again on Monday 19 February to protest the suspension of service and non-recording of my payments, service is yet to resume. Promises to have me reconnected pending Multichoice reconciling its account with Pesapal have turned out to be just hot air. Those running the Kenyan operation seem to be unable in dealing with this simple and clear-cut matter.

Multichoice should reconnect me immediately, not charge for the days I when I have been disconnected and compensate me for the aggravation and embarrassment caused by their suspending the service erroneously and I had paid for the subscription well before the due dates

The smart cards involved are [protected] (payment confirmation code 518599773686277603072) and [protected] (payment confirmation code 5185997164666084503073).

MultiChoice Africa / DSTV special to upgrade to premium

there was a special to upgrade to premium for 599.00, no one tells you its ends in march, the other consultant I spoke to said I can cancel in April if I don't want it anymore.
My problem is I got an sms on the 12.02.18 to upgrade to premium for 599.00 but nobody tells you that you will still pay the premium fee, plus the consultants don't seem to be knowledgeable about their products or clients accounts from the interactions you have with them.
I don't mind paying 789 but if I was told its 599.00 then let it be 599.00 not 962.00. I changed my subscription because on premium I was paying for channels I didn't watch so what's the use.

why am I paying 789 if I was promised 599? Why lie to get money or sales? please don't ever send me sms or call me about your nonsensical services. Such poor service am so enraged
