National Credit Systems I would like to file a complaint about an employee (Supervisor)/Terrible experience

I spoke with Derrick and he was a sweet person, he tried to help me, but he transferred me to Jessica (his supervisor) and she was so nasty with me. She was so rude and, never tried to help me and I felt so bad. She has no customer service at all. I am a manager of the medical office, and this position is helping the clients. I want to communicate with you, but I don't want to speak with this person again, it was a terrible experience.

Here's what you need to do: don't let one person's bad attitude stop you. Contact the company again, but request to speak with someone else or a higher-level supervisor. Make it clear that you won't tolerate being treated poorly and that you're serious about getting your issue resolved. Stay firm and persistent. Your time and dignity are too valuable to be brushed off by someone who doesn't respect their role.

National Credit Systems Dishonesty - notification of debt.

I have received a letter from the Law Office of Brett M Borland, P.C in 2021 concerning a debt from my former apartment complex, Buffalo Spring Apartments. However due to various reasons of the Covid-19 pandemic, health problems causing me not able to work and being in college full time I was not able to make payments. Recently however on or about July 1st, 2023 I contacted the office because I wanted to try to settle the debt. The office referred me to National Credit Systems where I could make payments/resolve the debt. The Debt Collector, Chuck Russell refuses to settle the debt for less or at all. He is misrepresenting himself as being the representative of the original debt collector, Buffalo Spring Apartments in Amarillo Texas because the complex is NO LONGER ACTIVE, they are listed online as closed/demolished. Chuck Russell has repeatedly stated the apartment complex wants the amount in full, but how could he know that when the complex is no longer active? He is either lying or dishonest. He has also refused to provide me a way to contact whoever may be representing the former complex so I may try to negotiate with them concerning the matter. I believe this is because he knows they are demolished, and he has no right to continue to try to collect the debt. Chuck Russell has called me repeatedly now for weeks trying to collect the debt and per our last phone call on 7/24 told me the debt then can stay on my credit if I don't pay the debt in full and hung up the phone on me. I have also filed a formal complaint to the Better Business bureau against NCS where it appears I am going in circles with them, and they are giving me very generic responses that they have appeared to have given to everyone else that has filed complaints. My conversation with them (NCS) will be attached to this complaint form. My concerns I was never properly notified by phone, email, mail from the original creditor concerning the leftover charges they had placed against me. I did not become aware of such charges until the debt was given over to the Law Office of Brett M Borland, P.C. The Law Office of Brett M Borland, P.C. Never notified me of their intent to hand over my credit information or debt to NCS Chuck Russell, the agent for NCS that I have tried to negotiate with, has made falsified statements to my knowledge concerning the “client” Buffalo Spring Apartments not willing to settle the debt (No way he could know this since they went out of business). 2. He made misleading statements that debt collectors in 2023 do not settle debts anymore. 3. He, or NCS has not revealed who they are representing, or collecting for since they have self-stated whoever bought the complex now holds rights to my debt. But is that legal? Am I not legally entitled to know who has access to my debt and information?

Desired outcome: 1. NCS drop the claim against me since I was never notified by the original creditor of the debt until after they already placed any and all supposed debts into collection or settle for less than half of current balance remaining.

National Credit Systems Violation of ada service dog law. No verification or validation letter

I rented an apartment. Specifically Camden vintage in Vegas Starting in August of 2013 to June 2015. They have at least 4 locations in Vegas (at that time). Not counting Henderson, Summerlin etc. It was clear the ownership had a vast ownership of properties over a wide geographical area. I say this because the first office I visited first accepted me. Then I stated I had 3 service dogs. Before anyone thinks about doubting my integrity nor the justification. Which I don't need to justify. My wife just left me as SHE was unable to have kids. After 14 years. Personal yes but I've told this story and people always roll their eyes rather I see it or not. I'm a K9 trainer. Not full time but learned the craft now 20 years ago. No kids. I saved 3 dogs. Don't judge. I'm a disabled veteran. They each were cross trained. All performed tasks specifically for my disability. Each had letters from med professionals. Updated vaccine records. And registered with national registries. That said. I went to another location and I told them they cannot refuse me for having my service dogs. You have a 3 pet policy. My dogs are not pets. She said she had to call the headquarters. So I waited. She said ok. But. I still had to pay the $250 pet deposit. That's illegal. I had no place to stay. I paid it. With first. And last month's rent. They jacked the rent $100-150 every year. Ridiculous. Now around 4-5 months before I met my new GF. I was divorced. A new owner bought the complex. Note in the door no new changes. Good I'm moving anyhow. One night I'm walking my dogs. Oh. After the usual stoning from the neighbors children. My dogs were smelling waste from a mean spirited dog that according to their behavior was near. It was dark. We walked around the corner. A man suddenly appears and says he's the owner and I didn't clean my dogs waste. He must see the 6-8 green bags hanging out of my pockets. I told him it wasn't my dogs. I usually clean others actually but I'm sick of people not doing it. Myself and the two kind old elderly neighbors. Both with poodles. Whom my dogs adore. I had a GSD. Rott. Dogo mix. We all clean ours. Ask them if they've ever seen anyone else. They've both been here for a decade. Or close. He said he watched me. I told him unless he sees through walls. Stop lying. I'm working for the detective agency (and I was. 20 years in LE. PI. SEC SPEC. Bodyguard etc). I'm guessing you're not? So DNA the poop. Big dog. Big poop. It came from a yappy chihuahua that always runs at my dogs then runs away which by the way. No barking post 2200. City ordinance. This dog yaps at all hours. Do you sneak up on her? Have a good night. I was right. I saw him again. He knew it. But he had to get the last laugh. The maintenance/security head was a 20 year man. He personally inspected my place just 60 days before I was moving. Because my microwave was broken. Garbage disposal I put 3 orders in for. 2 for the fridge. He fixed the micro. Disposal. By then I put my notice in I took a video of the entire place. Documented to them what was wrong! All shades. Carpet dingy. Door marks. Wall scrapes. My friend told me. "by the time a fridge comes in. You'll be gone. We only keep them 5 years max. Yours was going to be replaced anyway. Like your carpet. I've put it in final inspection"
Next week fired. In fact all maintenance. Fired. All but one staff. Fired. So I checked out. Cleaned. With my GF. Turned keys in. Wanted my $1250 plus $250 pet deposit. They said they had 30 days to check it. Then mail it. I said it's already been checked. I videotaped it again. 30 days. Letter. Charging me new fridge. Carpet. Cleaning. Saying they were keeping it all. But it was from previous owner? Transfer of power not complete?
Whatever. I moved on. Two weeks ago. NTL credit systems letter. Saying I owe $1490? No way. That debts paid. If anything. They owe me $250. If anything. They broke the law. I specialize in analyzing laws. Sops. Compliance. They'd never dare. Go before a judge. Regardless. If part of the case was. Yes. We knowingly discriminated against a disabled veteran by forcing him to pay a pet deposit. No breed restrictions. I've read all fine print here. It's a federal law. That taints the entire case. I've been to numerous civil and criminal cases. This absolutely can. If i. Me. Push it. Can have a jury trial. Yes. Civil court. In my state. Yes it can. This case starts with discrimination twice. It's hard to shake that from a jury. I didn't destroy that department. The fridge was going to be replaced. As was the carpet normal wear and tear is immune from liability!
This is ridiculous. Semper Fidelis

Desired outcome: REMOVE D FROM CREDIT REPORT STAT. WITH APOLOGY. MINIMUM

National credit systems needs to verify the status of their claims before harassment. Not rubber stamping. A B rating is not good. It’s barely a B only because their IT department responds and states it was handled. I challenge the verification of the so called happy results as well. It’s common place as they count on people to not go through red tape. Because they have jobs lives. Blue collar Americans. The prey on this very fact. I actually hope they will keep trying to convince themselves my personal case is just. As I’m more than prepared to go to any court. Today. With witnesses. Documents. Laws. Visual aids. Copious notes. Sometimes you grab the bull. You get gored. Don’t ever underestimate. ANYONE. The little guy CAN win. Don’t ever lie down. Fight. They count on the barrage of threats. Calls. Lawyers. Red tape. To instill fear. If you’re right. It can’t be changed. Truth never changes. I will prove this. Once again. I will report back. Ya hear me. NCS?

I just want my letter so I can move forward with my now debt free life or fir them to report my paid debt correctly

National Credit Systems Unprofessional, Lied, Terrible Experience

I am absolutely stunned at a company that treats people the way they do has power to ruin someone's credit. I owed a bill from a few years back that I would have paid right away had I even gotten a bill. No bill, no voice mails from this agency, nothing. The only thing I ever received was a bill for over 2, 500 from the apartment complex but I only owed 1400 and asked them to send me a revised bill. 3 months later, it's on my credit report. I went through a tough time and had to break my lease for the first time in my life. I pay my bills but I also RECEIVE bills or at least know how to check my balance. When I found the company's name, via my credit report, I tried to log into their website to pay it but couldn't (no surprise there, they want to talk down to you more than they want your money!). So I called them and that sure did ruin my day. I don't get upset, and I was so upset by the time I got off the phone with them, I was actually shaking. I told them I will pay the bill if they will have it removed from my credit report. I spoke with **** (not mentioning names just yet) and she told me "no, that is illegal". So I asked to speak to a manager. A man got on the phone (I'd bet my paycheck he wasn't a manager) and I asked him if it was illegal to have the entry removed from my credit report. He said no. Yeah, I already knew that. I ended that call. After calming down, I called back a week or so later, because I need the bill paid and at this point I don't care if it's on my report but I want it marked "paid in full". So I called back to get my account number so I could pay it. Guess what, they all of a sudden couldn't find an account with my name, social, or apartment complex that I lived in. Unbelievable, at this point they are just messing with me! Here I am, getting upset again. I couldn't believe I can't just pay my bill! So, finally they transferred me back to *****, which I said I did not want to speak to her. I finally got my account number and she tried everything she could to get my credit card number. NO! Later that day (last week), I sent payment through my bank with online bill pay. If they don't cash that check as soon as they get it, I'm filing reports with BBB and Attorney Generals office. By the way, I recorded the conversation and let her know I was recording AFTER she told me she was recording the conversation. Found a free app for my phone and I'm very, very glad that I have proof of what people have to go through when dealing with these people.

National Credit Systems Balance of $584.01 due, with $292.01 Settlement

I just received a bill or invoice saying that I owe $584.01, with a $292.01 settlement at an apartment complex I once stayed in for 2 months, until I transferred away from there to another apartment complex (of the same real estate company) by paying only a transfer fee of around $150 to the first complex as well as application fees to the sister complex. This was during the middle of my lease contract with the first complex during that time, and it was under different management then. When I transferred, I was never told about this; honest! So why in the hell do they want this much from me just for legally transferring to another sister complex? I don't understand. This company needs to be investigated and is not BBB approved. What should I do? I am suspecting that this company is a scam!

National Credit Systems Failure to abide by the FDCPA; Failure to report properly

I received a letter in the early weeks of February, 2013, from NCS (National Credit Systems) regarding a supposed debt that was owed from a previous residence I lived in. When I received the correspondence, I immediately filed a complaint with the company and challenged the validity of said debt via the Better Business Bureau. To date, the company has continually refused to legally verify said debts. I took it upon myself to contact management at the companies that sold this supposed debt to NCS and was able to prove the debt was invalid. The company directly sent me confirmation that the debt owed was updated to the correct amounts. Since that time, NCS sent me ONE letter with the new amount on it, but to date has still refused to provide me proof of said debt from THEIR company. Per the FDCPA, they are required to provide proof of any debt within 30 days of my request or the debt is invalid.
To date, they have not done so, well past the 30 days required by law.
Furthermore, I have been in dispute with this debt since I was first notified of it. As such, the company has NO legal right to report ANYTHING to my credit file with ANY agency.
It is hereby demanded that NCS remove ALL reporting of ANY ACCOUNT off of ANY and ALL credit files, agencies, bureaus and reports at ONCE. Furthermore, due to the failure of the company to follow the FDCPA, it is hereby DEMANDED that ALL debts owed by me to NCS be zeroed out and considered PAID IN FULL and/or CANCELLED.
I DEMAND a member of NCS' management team CALL ME directly AT ONCE to resolve this issue.

Please call [protected] and refer to this message board. I will personally check on this matter. I am a member of NCS management. However, it appears an investigation was conducted after your dispute and your balance was adjusted. I would like to add, that NCS is relying on the validity of the information being supplied by its client, the original creditor.
If you have documentation that refutes the original creditor's claims we will investigate your dispute again.

It seems, from your post, that only the amount owed was incorrect, which was corrected by the agency. So, it seems that the debt itself is now valid. As far as the FDCPA verification requirements go (§ 809. Validation of debts [15 USC 1692g]), there is nothing that states that a debt is automatically invalid if the collection agency does not verify the debt within the 30 day period. Talk to an attorney in your area who is part of the National Association of Consumer Advocates (www.naca.net). They specialize in the FDCPA/FCRA and can help you sort this out.

National Credit Systems rudeness

Ms Tillman of NCS is the rudest lying little thing. I say thing because I'm sure she can't be human as humans have feelings. I called to settle a 3 year old debt and because she didn't like my "tone" she hung up. I called back and worked with her supervisor which resolved the issue but in the meantime I rec'd a letter saying I refused to pay my debt b/c Ms Rude-as-hell Tillman lied.

National Credit Systems Unethical collection practices and bullying

I was contacted by this company by a Mr. Barnes in reference to a debt owed to former landlord/rental agency after vacating the property the previous year. The debt owed increased by over $1200.00. I was advised if I felt the debt was not owed to supporting documentation, but Mr. Barnes hung up on me before giving me the proper address to sent complaints too. He continued to call daily, multiple times, and when I asked for a supervisor, I was hung up on or put on hold for 30 minutes or more, only to be rerouted to Mr. Barne's voicemail. I advised him on another occassion that I was a student, and he actually threatened to garnish Federal Funds, and when I advised him that would be a federal crime, he hung up on me. He contacted my mother and when she asked for something sent via USPS, certifed mail, he hung up on her. I found their mailing information through the Federal Trade Commission, and sent 17 plus pages of supporting documentation, and when I received another call, this time from Ms. Bennett, she had no idea what I was talking about. When I asked her for a supervisor, she hung up on me. They have threatened that they will assure I will not be able to receive federal grants for a public/state university, and when I informed them different, they hang up on me. They overtalk, yell, and make threats and seem to have no reasoning, ethics, or communication skills. After I searched the internet, I found 1.8 million hits and complaints for fraud and scam alerts in reference to National Credit Services. Any attempts to dispute the claim, end in them hanging up on me. They sent threatening information to my grandmother, and spelled her name wrong and got the address wrong. They say you can dispute the claim, but you really can't. It seems I am only one of many thousands of clients being abused by this company.

Currently dealing with a Mr. Curtis Harris. Good luck trying to dispute anything. They have a fraud case on their hands and will be wrapped up in the lawsuit. They are refusing to even work with me on anything. This was not my apartment, This was not my lease and it is no skin off my nose since I own my home and my new car. It is too old to even matter at this point. I just wanted it off my credit.

I'm currently dealing with Ms. Bennett and National Collection Systems. I received a call on April 22nd that I owed them $120.91 for past due rent and utilities. It's not a large amount, but when I moved out of the apartments, I owed them nothing. My utilities were handled by a 3rd party, SRP (Salt River Project - srpnet.com), and my account was closed on the day I moved out in good standing ($0 balance). I have this in writing.

I was never notified by the apartment complex that I owed them money, despite leaving my forwarding information more than once. I only received a CALL from National Collection Systems 10 weeks and 4 days after vacating the apartment. On May 5th, I asked Ms. Bennett to please FAX me a the itemized list of charges. She assured me the fax would be sent in 10-15 minutes. I verified the fax machine to be on, working and successfully receiving faxes. I never received the fax.

I phoned Ms. Bennett the following day (May 6th) and stated that I never received the fax. She told me "the system" shows it was sent successfully. I asked her to send the fax again. She stated "We do not send faxes more than once." They also do not email documents. I gave Ms. Bennett my home address to have her send me the documents. The address they had on file was not only incorrect, it was an address I'd never heard of. Also on this call, Ms. Bennett informed me that they will submit my record to the credit bureaus on May 7th and May 21st. Today is May 6th. Since they don't work on weekends, they're submitting it today.

I have no doubt in my mind that the fax was never sent. I'm currently waiting for the itemized list of charges to be mailed to me. In the meantime, I've drafted a request for debt validation from National Credit Systems. Unfortunately, I don't have a physical mailing address other than the PO Box listed on their website, so I won't be able to mail this until I speak with Ms. Bennett on Monday, May 9th.

I attempted to contact the apartment complex to dispute the debt, but the complex told me their "files" were all sent to the collections agency. They cannot provide ANY information other than my start and end dates of being a tennent.

After some quick searching, it's painfully obvious National Collection Systems operates under fraudulent, deceptive and unfair business practices. How they're still in business, I'll never know.

National Credit Systems Fraudulent claim

Ok here we go! I have been fighting with national Credit systems inc for the better part of 5 years. I recently realized how important my credit has become and decided to fight back. the company stated that I owed that 1095.00 for past due rent and for some additional fees. Now I don't deny that I owe for past due rent simply because we went to court over this particular issue. With all the issues that I had with the apartment the judge did not grant the company the 1095.00 that they where asking instead he granted the company the rent that I owed. witch was 424.24 . When I attempted to pay the rental company the past due rent two weeks later they already sent it to collections for the amount of 1095.00 . It was on my credit report about a month later.

So I contacted national credit systems and advised them that I was ready to pay, but the debt amount was incorrect. This was about the time when I realized that I was screwed. I spoke with a rep and he stated that the amount was correct. I advised him that we went to court and the judge granted them 424.24 he stated that he did not have that information. I offered to send the information to him and he stated that I could but by the time I do all that and it gets cleared up I might as well pay it. I THINK NOT! several years have passed and I'm still fighting with them. Recently I have been disputing the issue with Equifax(no help). It sees like I dispute the debt Equifax, they contact national credit and they say, yep the debt is correct and that's the end of it.

I have since sent them another letter with all the court documents and the judgment. I also sent the same information to Equifax. so the rep for national credit called be back and tried to talk crap however I blasted his A##. after I had him read the documents and read back to him the information he decided to skip over. he replied with "ill have to get this over to our investigation department" So about a month later he calls back and say with such enthusiasm in his voice sir we have your new debt amount 700.00...and as I blasted his ### out again...so I asked him how did he come up with that amount he came up with your past due rent of 424.00+150.00 in late fees 75.00 to re-key the locks and 190.00 in court fees...you do the math people...and yes I went off again. at this point he stated well that's what you owe and its not changing. I said I was going to get a lawyer and he hung up. I have filed so many disputes with Equifax that the last letter they sent back to me stated that if I still had an issue with the debt that I should contact national credit to settle the dispute. I don't have the money for a lawyer but I do have the money to pay them But I'm NOT! any suggestions.

Received a notice from them dated 11/1/16; this is my very first piece of correspondence yet it states repeated attempts have been made. I am puzzled because the property they are attempting to collect on behalf of is a complex I resided in over 11 years ago. This item has never even appeared on my credit report. I'm reluctant to contact them for any additional info for the simple fact that it may inadvertently activate some type of continuous collection efforts. However, I am extremely curious as to what these charges could possibly pertain to. I moved out in good standing & even received a portion of my deposit back. This is extremely suspect. I may just contact the complex themselves to see if they can shed light on this but it is doubtful that they will have records from over a decade (2005). I guess I'll wait to see if any further attempts occur.

Sue the [censored] out of them. I did and won. Look them up on the Harris County, Texas website. They are a bunch of extortionists. Don't let them win!

National Credit Systems not following the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act

Sir/Ma'am,

On or about 12 May 2010, I was contacted by Ms. Tillman of the National Credit System regarding a debt from an apartment I leased in November 2009. I signed a 6 month lease and I vacated after 3 months.

When I first spoke with Ms. Tillman, she informed me that I owed $2, 102.01. I asked her to send me a document with a break down of the charges – but out of fear for hurting my credit I made my first payment before I received this document. On or about the 15th of May I made a payment of $352.35. Despite Ms. Tillman's demand that I send my first payment via western union or some other wire agency, I made my payment through the payment process on their website. I then called Ms Tillman to tell her about the payment options available on your website and she hung-up on me. I called back and spoke to Mr. Cook who also seemed to be having a bad day and was not one of the more friendly managers I have spoken to. In the end I explained that I would be making my payments through the website because a representative of the company had told me this was an acceptable way to pay off the debt.

Today (June 11th) I went to their website to make arrangements for a payment that I intended to submit and my debt of $1, 749.66 has grown to $2, 727.66. It went up by $978.00. So I called Ms. Tillman again to find out what had happened and she said "Since I did not pay off the entire amount they added another charge to it".

I am not sure what is going on. I am willing to pay the debt I owe - I believe I have clearly communicated my intentions to Ms. Tillman and to Mr. Cook . . .they both told me I could make 6 payments of roughly $350.00 to pay the entire thing off - and when I did what we agreed upon . . .someone added $978.00 to the amount.

I am unable to speak with anyone other than Ms. Tillman or Mr. Cook and I have never received a break down of the charges. I know at times their staff has to deal with people who may be less than motivated to address their debt and may even be unwilling to answer the phone at times . . .all I am asking for is a document identifying what I owe with a break down of the charges and an explanation of the additional $978.00.

National Credit Systems Fay Miles

I've made numerous calls, sent numerous letters, and faxed the letters to try and ask why I was never contacted about a small debt that showed up on my credit report. A supervisor, Fay Miles, insulted me and refused to give me any information. I just paid the debt and hoped one of my letters made it through to someone of importance...

In short, this company has called on multiple occasions to Harass, Bully, and Demean another employee of this company who is no longer with My branch. Though this does not stop them from calling and literally Yelling at me when I inform them of this, again and again. They call and get as childish and rude as possible, hang up when you respond, and will call Back to harass you more. And the language and etiquette they use on the phone is Exactly akin to that of an elementary school playground bully. They make demands, do not wait for responses, and sling Pointless, Empty threats at every chance. When asked to speak with a supervisor, we have been put on hold for long periods of time, just to be rerouted back to the offending agents own voicemail. My company and it's attorneys are looking into this, as well as getting employees from Multiple offices to contact the BBB about NCS. I would suggest the same of anyone else who has Any dealings with them. Have a wonderful day.

I too have incurred a debt with this company. They have not only been very unproffesional but informed me that they do not provide notification upon receipt of payment. This is to say unless I have made a payment in full they will dont send me any type of documentation by mail or by fax as to what the remainder of my balance will be. I was told this by the supervisor Mike Cook. Cook Also took it upon himself to hang up me twice and told me that they will not accept any payment from me in regards to my account unless it was paid in full. Wow... You wont be in business for to long with attempting to collect debt in such a manner Can someone please let me know if it legal in NC to accept a payment from a recipent with providing some type of documeation as to what the remaining balance is if any. Even if it is not a complete payment in full. I am interested in paying my debt but need to pay in installments. Therefore notification is necessary especially dealing with a comapany that has a history of being deceitful to the former residents.

Thank you
