National Van Lines moved us from Savannah GA to Northern CA
National Van Lines moved us from Savannah GA to Northern CA. They did a great job! In fact, we've moved 28 times with all different moving companies and this by far was the best move we've ever had. The administrative staff at National Van Lines Inc. was always professional, helpful and friendly. Of particular mention is the moving agent and coordinator (from American Moving & Storage, Savannah) Dee ***. She stayed at our house for the duration of the pack and load and ensured all of our items were carefully wrapped, boxed and loaded. My wife has numerous breakables and antiques and owing in large part to Dee's quality care and conscientiousness, everything arrived unbroken! Dee also ensured we had a 5 star driver, "Billy". I wasn't familiar with this term "5 star driver", but Billy showed me what it meant! He is a master driver, he maneuvered his rig onto our property in a way no other driver could have done. He organized the unload in an extremely timely way and help ensure nothing was broken on the receiving end. I can't say enough good things about Dee and Billy! In addition to being the professionals that they are, they are also both very caring, patient and understanding individuals. Qualities everyone needs from a moving company during a stressful move! I would definitely recommend this company.
We are completelysatisfied with National Van Lines
We are completelysatisfied with National Van Lines. We moved from *** to ***. Our first contact was ***. He was able to set up the move and provide an estimate by email since we are not always able to answer the phone; this was very convenient. *** always responded promptlyand answered all ofour questions. The move went very well. Our mover *** called to let us know that he'd be there on a Wednesday morning, and he was-as promised. The guys were very friendly and respectful. They took special care with all of our furniture. We were impressed with how much they wrapped everything. We were the only family on the truck, which meant that they were going to be in *** in a couple days, so we high-tailed it out of town. We beat them to our new home, but *** kept us in the loop about where he was and his status.Just as when they packed all of our stuff up, they took special care unwrapping it, and offered several times to put our bed together and help with organizing the furniture. On a personal note, all of the guys were very personable and we had some great conversations. After not really talking with strangers for over a year, it was nice to just talk with people and joke around.Whenever we move again, we'll definitely contact *** and request mover ***. They made a stressful situation into a seamless and easy one."
I'd happily recommend National Van Lines to anyone considering a move across state lines.
I chose National Van Lines for my move. It was the worst experience I have had in my lifetime. While the settlement itself was shocking considering the amount of damage to my goods, the real reason for my review is because of the disgraceful way in which my property was handled. For a company that has earned an A rating with the ComplaintsBoard.com and is a member of the *** the *** and ***, I find it incomprehensible that many boxes were wet with active mold and insects crawling everywhere; also, the *** sound bar and antique chair were damaged beyond use because they were not packed according to my contract. Our packing day was scheduled for August 25; NO truck arrived and no one called me back to explain. The truck showed up the next day at 3:00 p.m. but was NOT a National Van Lines truck; it was a Budget rental - the brochures specifically state that third party trucks are not used. When the Budget truck arrived at our new home, I noticed several boxes were soaking wet - several dozen books, clothing, purses, and 2 Brahman bags were ruined. The *** (which was NOT packed as stipulated), sound bar system and a chair were damaged. I did not purchase additional insurance because I believed that National Van Lines possessed dedication, moving expertise, knowledge, and commitment to a safe, efficient relocation. I was sadly mistaken. I feel duped. My property was NOT packed according to the contract and the items in the wet boxes were in deplorable condition. If I were asked to rate *** I would have to assign a 1 out of 10. I chose NVL over other providers, not because it was the least expensive, but because I believed in the high standards presented to me by the sales agent and their literature. For a company that claims it is #1 in Service, it fell short of the *** I am deeply disappointed and will not recommend them to anyone I know. The one star is for the driver who unloaded us. The company should receive 0 stars.
National Van Lines is a fantastic moving company *** gave great customer service The movers were wonderful. They packed all of my belongings with care I will be referring National Van Lines to anyone I know that is in need of a reliable moving company
We hired them to move our things up to our new house in ***, started out a little rough as the dates were kind of bouncing around and I was having heart surgery and needed to keep a date for surgery. I called the office and explained the problem and they were amazing. They changed out trucks to a smaller truck and got our things moved in and put everything together and in it's place I had my heart surgery and all is good. I have never dealt with such an outstanding company in my life. I would recommend them to anyone.Outstanding!
I did a lot of research and read a lot of horror stories online about moving experiences
I did a lot of research and read a lot of horror stories online about moving experiences. Then I came across an ad for National Van Lines, and they said to watch out for many of these companies and the things they do, including requiring a deposit upfront just to book with them - then you never see them again. National Van Lines promised to do none of those things and guarenteed it in writing. Also, no deposit or payment was required until the moving truck arrived to deliver our furniture. Our experience was flawless from the very beginning. Eric, their estimator, came to our house and did a detailed inventory of our belongings. He was very professional and very courteous. We felt in good hands with him and he did everything he said he would. The estimate was very reasonable , not overpriced at all. When it came time for the actual move, the company working with National Van Lines was Jet's Moving Company. Their truck arrived right on time and Tara - the owner of that company was very professional and very careful with all our stuff. We couldn't have been more pleased. I would recomend them in a heartbeat ! They arrived with our furniture the very day they said they would, and they unloaded everything with great care. The whole moving experience couldn't have gone better ! Nothing was broken or damaged ! Thank you National Van Lines, and thank you Tara and your staff for taking such good care of us !

Excellent service. Reliable. We have used them 5 times so far ranging from a local move 1/4 mile away to a 900+ mile move cross country. Very pleased.
Great people and a great move. They delivered our belongings safety and quickly over 700 away
We are very please with the company and the drivers that they use in the location that we moved our items from. I will be using National Van Lines again.
Very responsive company. Moved from *** to ***. Movers were professional and hard working. Always willing to answer questions.
I've been moved professionally before in my corporate life - so I've seen professional movers before a number of times
I've been moved professionally before in my corporate life - so I've seen professional movers before a number of times. This experience has topped them all. It started with *** who came by our home and inventoried everything. We followed up with questions and added a few items while subtracting others. This was all accommodated without fuss and the quote stayed true to the original amount. The second part of the move was the loading and unloading - a job performed by *** and his team. I can not underscore the knowledge, professionalism, discipline, and work ethic that *** team demonstrated. The team that loaded started at 8am and worked the entire day through 5pm continuously packing, loading, bringing things from the basement, breaking down lamps, furniture, and other items to pack them safely and tightly. Then the 'Magic Man from Rochester ' in the truck was playing a mind-boggling game of 'Tractor Trailer Tetris' packing every cubic inch of that semi full. It was truly impressive, fascinating, and very special to watch. *** other team on the drop off end was equally talented. They showed up early and were ready to go at 8am sharp. The worked diligently and were kind, professional, respectful, and disciplined. Congrats to *** on running such a fine organization and demonstrating excellent leadership skills among his teams! Finally, I can also add that I will recommend National Van Lines to others considering similar moves - indeed, I already have!

Our move was stress free and quick. Our driver *** was phenomenal! He was early and did a fantastic job with our things. Loaders were curious and quick. All in all a good experience for a stressful operation.
Any move is quite stressful but *** relieved a lot of it by the timely help he provided. He was very helpful, answered all of our questions, was always available. When we had a question, he provided a timely and concise answer. I would recomment *** to anyone who is planning a move whether it be short or across the country like we did. Thank you ***!
Professional services - sales, customer service, driver and loader. They treated everything with care on both ends of our move.
My husband chose this company over others because he thought the price would guarantee good service
My husband chose this company over others because he thought the price would guarantee good service. The movers did an OK job, there was a rat infestation in the barn, but in the country animal problems go with the territory. We don't live in a condo. I went in and unpacked the boxes myself, and repacked them in about four hours. I totally understand that this was not their job. My issue with this company is they ran off and left a bunch of our stuff in the house. They claimed the mattress was stained and dirty and refused to move it. The mattress pad had an old pee stain, but it kept the mattress underneath clean. The actual mattress was layers of latex foam that were all spotless. I took a lot of pictures of every layer. My spouse and I both told them we would remove the mattress pad and they could roll up and move each layer of latex foam. He did not have to move the mattress pad. We had to call a junk removal company to toss this very expensive mattress. It was too heavy and bulky to move ourselves. Then we realized the extent of everything they left, chairs, dishes, pictures, a bunch of stuff that we had to hire a cargo van last minute to move to a self storage unit. I have pictures of everything they left. This company has caused us a lot of last minute stress, money and aggravation. They also broke an expensive mirror. I usually enjoy giving services a four or give star rating. In this case, this is without a doubt the worst moving company we ever dealt with. If there was a lower score than one, they would get that.

National Van Lines did a horrible job moving me recently
National Van Lines did a horrible job moving me recently. It was complete chaos from packing to unloading at destination. They did not protect my furniture as promised and paid for ($20K). Their packers and loaders actually REFUSED to protect my sectional sofa and new bed even though it was promised by the estimator. I paid for mattress boxes and none were furnished. I have a full replacement cost insurance policy and have had to attempt cleaning furniture that has damaged fabric and now they want me to take a small settlement. I have approximately $18k in ruined furniture that they are trying not to take responsibility for. After the careless packing and loading, their *** local affiliate A2B Moving, took my belongings to their storage facility which concerned me. When the truck arrived at the destination, I saw my items poorly loaded. Sofa cushions, unprotected and simply tossed on the top of the "pile" inside the trailer. The driver insisted on loading from his truck to a smaller truck because he didn't think he could navigate my storage facility or apartment parking lot which was NOT true. In addition to extra cost, I had to monitor it all in a parking lot in 95 deg weather. Due to a disagreement between the driver and unloading crew, cops were called and the driver threatened to dump my items in the parking truck stop parking lot. The crew walked off the job so it took 2 days to unload. My items were loaded 5 times. National Van Lines is now being difficult about simply paying for the items they damaged. They simply do not respect customers or care about personal belongings. They refuse to act responsibly.

Jersey Shore Moving was highly recommended to me by my daughter-in-law after she and her husband relocated to the Outer Banks last fall
Jersey Shore Moving was highly recommended to me by my daughter-in-law after she and her husband relocated to the Outer Banks last fall. I'll always be thankful for that recommendation! From the first Facetime visit with their estimator, *** Vivo, to the delivery of all our worldly goods at our *** destination, I was treated with honesty, respect, and professionalism. It was a bonus that each character I worked with was a true, "character", and a fine one at that! Each in their own way was humorous, professional, dedicated, and a joy to know. Moving far away can be very traumatic. Leaving longtime friends, family, neighbors, and church in the rearview mirror as you head to a new life is a time of so many mixed emotions, high anxiety, and sleepless nights. RJ and his team made us know we were in good hands and is a great communicator. He let us know exactly when he would arrive at our *** destination, called to confirm the day before and arrived on time. His team was efficient and professional. Everything was delivered without a scratch, big and small, re-assembled, (including an 8 ft. oak bar in 3 pieces and RJ was helpful in arranging its placement). From the time of the first estimate to our actual moving day, we had added/eliminated several items. We were pleasantly surprised that despite the changes, our *** of lading came in less than we anticipated! At the end of the move-in day, we were swimming in boxes, though mostly in the garage (thankfully). Thanks to the Updater App, we labeled things appropriately, organized the moving and unpacking process, and on day 12 (following the arrival of the van) the boxes are unpacked (and gone!); everything is in its place and the pictures are all hung on the wall. Thank you, Jersey Shore Moving/National Van Lines. We're ready to start our new life!

Initially I wanted to review them at 4 or even **** Now you wonder how can I go from that high to this low?
Initially I wanted to review them at 4 or even *** Now you wonder how can I go from that high to this low? Here is the reason: overcharge. I got estimate and we had a lot of stuff to move across the country. The estimator was nice and punctual and got us weight estimate. After that we figured that we need to sell some stuff. We got rid of two major appliances, some exercise equipment and some tools. We should've gotten probably about 500 lbs off our initial estimate. The move was smooth and the driver kept us informed. Though when I asked why truck was weighted about 150 miles from our house before load when weight station is less then 10 miles and whether there was it was fueled on the way, I got somewhat mumbled answer... So probably few hundred pounds of diesel fuel got added to my ***. While our staff was being moved across the country, I paid my ***, even though I have not seen documents from scales. So finally stuff got delivered on time (with a few issues, like scratches on the furniture and couple of boxes broken), but most of the stuff was ok. (we done really good job of packing). Almost missed one box and almost got couple of things from another customer, but that got squared away by staying on top of movers by both driver and myself. When we got to sign final documents I got also pictures of weights. (not sure why it could not be forwarded to us while on the road..). I got to calculator and realized that we were overcharged even based on the load. So I got to calculator and found out that our rates jumped by more than 6%. On the large load that quite an amount. I asked for the explanation and that's when the story began... fingerpointing from the estimating company to the "Headquarters" and then some story about fuel surcharge, which is already part of the price, and finally blunt rejection and "nothing to discuss". Would not use them again. And not recommending unless you paying them with a free money :D

Let me start by saying I NEVER write reviews
Let me start by saying I NEVER write reviews. I'm writing one this time in the hope of helping someone avoid the terrible issues I've had with this company. I've hired National Vanlines for 3 cross country moves. I know you're thinking, "well, they can't be that bad if you hired them 3 times.". You'd be wrong, the first move was fine and was honestly so long ago I can't remember if there were issues. The second move came in more than TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS more than they estimated due to the packers using way more boxes than needed (another scam of theirs). Of course I had to pay the difference because they wouldn't release my furniture. I went with them a third time thinking I could avoid an inflated estimate by packing some myself and them watching them very closely pack the rest of my things. Now that you know how I got here, I'll start with their sales agent, ***. If you call and get ***, HANG UP IMMEDIATELY. He's an amazing sales person, and the BEST scam artist. He sent me "proof" of how other companies were scammers and being stressed and crunched for time, I cancelled a competitor and went with them. *** would answer emails immediately, then after I signed the contract I literally never heard from him again. Literally to this day I haven't heard from them. Next it's the actual move - National van lines called saying a truck would be here Oct 25th to load me and 28th delivery. The day before, the truck driver (not national van lines) called to lmk the truck broke down. I understand, this happens. They found me another truck and THAT ONE BROKE DOWN TOO! That resulted in my stuff being delayed a week after they said, but of course they give you a stupid long window so you're contractually obligated to deal with their BS. The last straw, when I finally got my delivery by favorite (and expensive) lamp was broken. It's not work paying the $500 deductible and frankly I just don't ever want to deal with them again.

Not worthy of the higher cost over competitors!
Not worthy of the higher cost over competitors! Mover who showed up was contracted (we were told by the salesman that they were not contracted movers and that is why they were more "professional" and worth the higher cost). Mover had to rent additional equipment to move our items and did not have any helpers until someone answered his *** ad. The mover that loaded our items epitomized unprofessionalism, including having us marking inventory numbers for the items being loaded. We were ensured that our items would be well taken care of and stored safely. The driver who delivered our items was a true professional and handled his portion as expected. He was kind enough to let us know, prior to unloading, that it appeared our items had sustained water damage and overall damage due to be stored outside by the original contracted mover prior to delivering to the National Van Lines truck (including our TVs, couches, mattresses, etc.). This crew was night and day in comparison to the first contracted movers, and it showed in quality of service. He documented as much of the damage to our items as he could visible notice.National Van Lines was dismissive in our concerns over the contracted mover who loaded our items when we spoke with Salesman *** over the phone. They would not respond to multiple emails when i attempted to document my concerns, nor return my phone calls. I would strongly urge for everyone opt for the full coverage insurance regardless of cost as the free .60 per pound option, when all the damage is compiled in our insurance claim, will not even cover the cost of replacing our 75" TV that was cracked during the move. We are currently in the claims process, but if NVL's prior interactions is any indication, we are not expecting a favorable outcome. The amount of broken items is so vast that we cannot list them all as we are limited to 120 items. IMO, pay for a cheaper mover if you are going to have your items destroyed anyways!

One of the best moves ever
One of the best moves ever. Both pick up and delivery teams super efficient and coureousTo me having *** of National Van Lines (***) arrive at my apartment to give me a quote was a God wink when I found out he was from *** and had graduated from *** (about 100 years after me, of course). I was born and raised in *** and had attended *** schools all my life. I had already received a couple of quotes from other van lines and needed to make a decision pretty quickly, but the other two never followed up with me, asking if I needed more info, etc., which not only *** did, but also *** and a *** from *** in ***. I made my decision and received the necessary information as to packing, pick-up date, possible delivery dates pretty quickly from the *** office. God Bless *** at the *** office who was always so pleasant despite the fact that a couple of times I had to call her more than once to verify what she had already told me in a previous call, just 5 minutes before. The day before pick up day, she called to give me the names on the team that would arrive the next day; asked that if they didn't arrive by a certain hour to call her. That was not necessary because on 2/22/2022, the *** team of ***, *** and--lo and behold--*** himself arrived. They were all so pleasant, but also efficient and courteous, and before I knew it, done and gone with all my stuff.I talked to *** a couple of times before delivery, at which time she gave me the name of the person who would be calling me with exact date of delivery. *** of *** called my daughter on 3/9/22 to let her know they would be delivering my stuff the next day. On 3/10, *** and *** arrived to deliver my stuff and just like the *** team were equally pleasant, but also efficient and courteous, *** office staff and both moving teams made this move extremely pleasant--if any move can be called pleasant and anxious free. Thank you National Van Lines.

My brother has been constantly harassed and called by this company for several weeks
My brother has been constantly harassed and called by this company for several weeks. Several times he has told them to take him off the calling list or stop calling him, and they have refused to do so. One time I was with my brother and he respectfully told a representative to stop calling him and take him off the calling list. The representative was rude and she replied that she will "forever keep calling him forever and ever". This is equivalent to harassment. I want it to STOP NOW.

9/11 our furniture & belongings were picked up from 1736 Boulders Dr. Las Cruses, NM 88011 and delivered to *** 11/13.on Damage done: cracked 55" TV, broke $250 end table, broke a $80 vase, tore foot stool, contents of numerous boxes were damaged. Missing a floor lamp. Every piece of furniture was damaged. I was paid $111.00 for all the damage because I only signed for $.60 a pound for damage. I have moved many times and never had this MUCH damage I wrote a letter to Tim Helenthal (CEO) 2/4 explaining to him all the damage done and asked for more money to pay for the items I had to replace. I waited a long time for a response, never received one. I hope they fired those movers, they have no regard for peoples belonging's. I would like to be reimbursed for the TV (we paid $425.00 to replace) and additional $500.00 for all the other damage and missing items, this amount won't cover all.

Staff at NVL were nice and helpful prior to the move. Then the move happened and the driver and his helper mishandled many of our items and caused nearly $3,500.00 in estimated damage. NVL sends a claims adjustor who insisted the large crack on a piece of furniture was weather or climate related. A furniture repair guy in our town looked at it and said there was no possible way that the damage was caused by climate. Because of our seeing the driver's helper punching and kicking boxes of ours to make them fit on the truck and dropping items and not caring for boxes marked FRAGILE - we think the damage to that piece of furniture was due to his poor loading of our possessions. When asked to stop punching boxes or dropping (and breaking things) he snapped that we can file a claim if anything is broken. When we filed a claim with NVL, they refused to make good on that piece of furniture - a unique piece made in the country of Panama and irreplaceable. See the attachment for more info.
I contacted an agent for National Van Lines about a move, but faced delays and issues.
I contacted an agent for National Van Lines on March 31st, about a move. On April 23rd I confirmed my reservation, and asked if a deposit was needed. May 7th I confirmed a load date of June 14th, but the company did not show up and admitted the mistake, rescheduling for June 16th with a transfer on the 17th. On June 17th, I was informed our furniture wouldn't fit in the truck and was rescheduled for July 2nd. On June 28th, they repeated that the furniture wouldn't fit. I call National daily and speak to an agent, being told the load isn't assigned yet. I also call the initial contact, asking them to pressure National as my furniture was to be delivered by June 30. I am staying in an Air B&B at $172.00 a night, and National said they would credit the rental starting June 30th.

One of the delivery men refused to wear a mask, despite us asking in writing and on the phone multiple times prior to delivery. This household has an elderly and immunocompromised person living here. An expensive, custom made linen bed frame arrived in filthy old blankets with dirt and sticks on them. The bed required 3 separate steam cleanings. A leather chair and ottoman, the "copenhagen" set from Restoration Hardware, that were custom-made, arrived with tears and indentations. National is refusing to give us any compensation without sending some third party to our home during a pandemic. We will not accept this. Also--unless the third party is Restoration Hardware and can fix a custom piece, there is no possible way that company is an expert. As far as the filthy bed, we already cleaned it by renting a steam cleaner system. We could not use the bed otherwise and could not have been expected to wait weeks. The company also did not assemble the bed and lost the nuts and bolts. The company also delivered the items 2 weeks after the contracted delivery date. we are considering a small claims suit.

National Van Lines showed gross negligence with my household furnishings while moving me from CA to TN *** I took out a full replacement
National Van Lines showed gross negligence with my household furnishings while moving me from CA to TN *** I took out a full replacement value insurance policy with them, of which they have tried numerous times to deny that I have. (I have attached a copy to this complaint). They packed my Cal King Tempurpedic mattress valued at $7000 on the OUTSIDE OF THE TRUCK and carried it through Hurricane Edna all the way across the country. It arrived soaking wet and the driver said that someone attempted to steal it also, cutting the ropes, going unnoticed by driver for days. They UNWRAPPED my $15000 White custom Italian sofa before packing it,and shoved it to the top of truck, causing water seepage for 2,500 miles on my discontinued fabric. It arrived wet and fabric stretched from water. My shelves (2) were completely broken, photos to show all. Much more documented. We are 8 months out from the move and they are not addressing my claim. LAWSUIT. BREECH OF CONTRACT. WON'T CALL ME

My complaint against NVL is for unpaid loss
My complaint against NVL is for unpaid loss. We paid NVL to move our belongings from OH to AZ on May 25. We paid NVL a total of $10,409 including $520 for loss and damage insurance. Upon delivery of most of my items, I was Coerced into signing a lengthy document stating that All my things had been delivered. I told the driver, ***, that I wasn't ready to sign. He became angry and I felt obligated to sign. After a week of unpacking, it became apparent that an entire box of *** was missing. I immediately notified the *** They instructed me to fill out a missing box form to "trace the box". On July 8, ***, claims adjuster, denied my claim citing the delivery paperwork I was forced to sign. I was never given a claim form; however, I created a detailed form listing each item, its value with photos (July 8). My claim was Again denied on July 9. Not only did NVL lose $1975 of my belongings, they stole $520 under the 'guise' of insurance.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
One of the delivery men refused to wear a mask, despite us asking in writing and on the phone multiple times prior to delivery

It was a great moving experience, especially considering the move was over *** miles from *** to ***. My Sales Rep was extremely helpful. When I had questions, he responded quickly and with great care and concern. I would recommend this moving company for your move no matter how close or how far.
smooth, timely, & efficient with no perceived damage to goods. Movers at both old & new locations were excellent & proficient.
I am very pleased with National Van Lines. *** did an excellent job understanding our unique time line and helping with the entire *** mile move. I recommend National for your long distance moves.
I would highly recommend ***, *** based *** and National Van Lines. A cross-country move is both an adventure AND a very emotional experience. From the first phone call with my Sales Rep, followed by interaction with the Office Administrator and working with the two Moving Teams, I am sincerely grateful to have met such genuine and professional, kind and helpful people who made a challenging experience easier...and truly remarkable. Thank you, everyone!
