Cancelling subscription
Network solutions made an unauthorized charge to my credit card for private registration domains name for 26.89
And the auto renew was set to "on". Automatically this was not my intention, I wanted and paid for my domain name of $4.99. I notified that in May and June they charge me 26 89 (approximately) I have set the auto renew off and complain that the advertisement was fraudulent later
They sent an e-mail indicating that "it is our policy not to issue refunds for domain name registration(s)", no problem I will pay the 4.99 but I wanted a refund for the 26.89 charges for may and June registrations why because I did not authorize it on my credit card they did it anyway automatically. I checked with a number of associates, and apparently this is a common practice for network solutions: they figure most people won't take the time to dispute the unauthorized charges given the amount. It would be worth an investigation to see how much of their revenue is generated through unauthorized domain renewals.
Desired outcome: I want my refund of 26.89 for the month of May and June of 20212
Domain registration
In 2000, I registered my domain with Network Solutions. Every year, upon renewal, I received a notice to renew and paid it at the time. Nine years ago I registered my domain with Network Solutions for a nine year subscription. On the expiry date of May 26, 2021, my Website was removed. I phoned Network Solutions Wednesday, June 9, 2021 and realized that my email had changed since 2000 and I had discontinued my landline which was used to set up the account in 2000 and I now use only my cell. I needed to renew my subscription to get my website back online. In addition they charged me a "one time fee" because I did not pay my renewal by May 26 (remember that they did not send me a renewal for my 9 year subscription). They sent me a form to reset my information, which sounds pretty reasonable... They require additional documentation which includes 1. Government issued photo ID (required) plus a utility bill plus a notarized statement stating that I am the representative of this business.
I am a small "mom and pop" business in remote Canada. A notarized statement is a big expense and a job for me... all this for $37.00 per year subscription. Oh... and I need an ID name, a password, an answer for a secret question, a safe phone number and a PIN. This company now holds my domain which has a wrong phone number, a wrong email and I can hardly wait until my subscription expires in one year from now and in the meantime I am looking for someplace better.
Desired outcome: Just change the information to the correct information. .... heck, they have my domain which has my website that has all of this information on it!
Domain Registrar
Here is a typical communication with Network solutions:
"This is the 2nd time I have entered this ticket. I bought [----].com 5 months ago and still cannot access MY domain on Network Solutions. All I want to do is access MY domain name that I OWN and transfer it OFF NETWORK SOLUTIONS ASAP!
How do I access my domain name? It does not show up on my account. Where is it? Why did the last tech support person not respond to my question? I need this domain transferred as soon as possible.
Here is the last ticket, to which I received no useful response:
Here I pasted in the text from the last ticket, which went unanswered in any meaningful way. They simply stated that my domain name was registered in my name under another account number. They provided no reason as to why it was under another account number, or how I could access it.
I NEVER choose Network Solutions to host domain names for me. But when you buy one in an auction, it can automatically become registered with NS and then the ridiculous incompetence begins...
Desired outcome: Get my domain name off Network Solutions!
How is Network Solutions still in business with this behavior?
Email/SPAM & Support
We are now more than two weeks into an unresolved issue, and associated abhorrent support, with Network Solutions/Web.com. Other users of their system are VIOLATING AUPs/SPAM policies and causing two IP addresses associated with our hosting to be on multiple blacklists, which is adversely impacting us and our clients. I have been in contact with them multiple times a day, though I can only get a reply from their team by reaching out to their Twitter account. They refuse to do anything other than suggest that we tell our clients to "unsubscribe" from the SPAM-monitoring services, which is impossible because that service is a relationship between the other (NOT Network Solutions) hosting provider and not something users can just do or request.
Desired outcome: We want our emails to not be blocked anymore, which probably only requires that NetWork Solutions simply change the two IP addresses associated with our hosting that are being blacklisted due to violations by OTHER USERS.
Tech and customer services
Good afternoon, I will like to complaint about you technical and customer supports. It is outrageous to client wait on the phone for hours and to have nothing resolve. It has been over a month I have been to trying to have my email/certification issues resolve, but to no avail. After waiting for 2 hours to speak to someone, I get transferred to another who knows what and not one in your firm has bother to resolve my problem. at this moment, I have on hold for 2 hours and have not spoken to anyone. I tried you knowledge section and it did not work. This not acceptable to treat you client in this manner, your firm really need to put a great effort in your Technical and customer services. What a waste of my precious time, to the point that I would want to charge your firm for my time waiting for assistance that I don't get by your incompetency of your staff. My name is Aisha and I want a qualify person to call me at [protected] to resolve my email/certificates issues. please text me before you call, since I am still on holdThank you
Web hosting and protection and domain products
Hi I am trying to contact Network Solution in regards to an unauthorized transaction on my accounts but seems like all the numbers that are listed on your website in not working. So I need to get my money back asap please. I did not know that until I checked my bank statement and Network Solutions appeared on my statement. Please contact me though my email . [protected]@yahoo.com.au or call [protected] in Australia. The card number end up with 5235. Thank you.
Web site
This correspondence to Network Solutions should sum up what a poorly run, ghost company this is. Do NOT consider this company for your website. It's the blind leading the blind!
This is about the 15th time I've had to contact Network Solutions. I paid for a full year in November 2019 (see below). Since then, I have contacted you repeatedly to stop telling me my subscription is going to expire in April. It was made blatantly clear when I paid in November that I would have NO billing until November of 2020. It is clearly shown below that my domain name has been paid for, as has everything else I spent over an hour discussing with the rep in November. For some reason, Network Solutions is unable to grasp what customer service is supposed to entail. It means making adjustments to accounts after one request, not 15! My site is now inactive. I want it turned back on, and I want it done immediately. I'm sick of this ridiculous lack of attention on your behalf. If you can't get it straight this time, I will request an immediate refund IN FULL. If that request is not fulfilled, I will pursue this through the BBB and the Attorney General's office. Maybe that will get Network Solutions customer support to wake up and do their job. You are costing me money now by taking my site down. That is the last straw. Get it right or give me my money back and I will find a reputable, dependable company that can do the job correctly - without the form letter responses. FIX THIS NOW!
email upgrade
First, their customer service gave me incorrect information resulting in a lot of pain and time for me. They gave me three months credit to make up for it, and then I proceeded with what I should have been told in the first place - upgrade to Office 365. The process started 12/6/2019 @ 4 pm and was supposed to take 24-48 hours and be expedited because of the prior bad advice. It is now 12/15/19 at 6 pm and I still do not have email. As this is a company email, I am in a world of hurt. They have some serious systemic issues: (1) the first call was to tell me know one had validated my account, which should have been done in the prior contact. (2) they did not ask any questions about my set up first - although they could see I had my website elsewhere (because the NS one is not great) - and the DNS settings needed to be edited. After a couple days they asked me to add several records to my Wix DNS settings. With Wix' help that was done, except two SRV codes had inadequate information. So after more days, I received two additional DNS settings to add (TXT) but no additional SRV data. Finally, after trying the chat/call back, email and calling over the course of several days, I received the remaining SRV data and the site propagated. Now I am trying to put in the new email addresses and receiving and Error message with no other details. (3) Every time I call it's like a brand new day and I have to get the new rep up to speed. They don't actually know what is going on, and have to ask wherever the ticket has been expedited to. There is no facilitator/coordinator/client liaison to get a customer through the process. (4) The hold time is 10-15 minutes every time. I gotta believe that any other service provider is better. What a bunch of bumblers! 10 days in and still no email! If I ran my business like they run theirs, I wouldn't have any customers left.
domain locked and being forced to pay for 60 more days for updating the contact info...
this company is a joke. thieves, plan and simple. the most impossible registrar to work with. any other company would let you move the domain whenever you want, but network solutions will not assist in removing the block they placed on the account. they said its not possible and we all know that isnt true. no other registrar does this deceptive practice.. look at their FTC violations, the class actions, no BBB accreditation... just do yourself a favor and never sign up with this company. the only reason i would even deal with them is to move my domain away.
www.alephantcoffee.com
1)We don't want to renew this alephantcoffee.com
2)We have already check no auto renew, we don't want the
auto renew because we have not use this domain
name for many years. We just want it to be expire.
Your system make the auto renew for us and charge the money to us which we think that it is unfair business.
Please cancel it. Why the system charge to us? The money may be very small for you but it is big for us.
Are you need autorenew to make money ?
ecommerce
Although being very good at up selling add on products. They do not perform the essentials and have no desire to. Google date requires a GTIN (UPC) number for the products which are being fed to Google to get viewed in Google shopping results. There is no place to put a GTIN number in any of the edit inventory screens. Their Google data feed will get most of your items rejected by Google. Their answer to us after two weeks of waiting for a reply is "Just re-export the data feed and add the UPC codes manually." NO problem if it was only 10 items. It is over 40, 000 items updated and uploaded weekly to Google. They have not kept up with the ever changing online business model, except for the billing for their services part. They're good at that. We do NOT recommend their service at all.
credit card charges unauthorized
NetworkSolutions makes unauthorized charges to credit cards. Network Solutions and Networksolutions.com has no way to remove a credit card payment method and therefore you cannot stop them once they have a credit card on file. Networksolutions has been doing this for years. We got trapped within their scam a long time ago and have had nothing but problems with billing and charges. you can change credit cards, cancel old, get new. you can dispute charges using credit card company. Network solutions has designed this specifically to steal your money. Disputes with networksolutions will sometimes result in some credit for recent charges.
udagroup.com hosting
Hi, This is Payman Zahedi. I'm writing to you because one guy used my name and my company name in his website without permission on udagroup.com This guy is working and living in Iran and you provide him hosting services which is under US sanction. He clearly mentioned in his website that he is working in Iran and has a network there. You get paid from him which is lead your company to break the US sanctions. I highly advice you to drop the hosting service. This is serious and if you don't stop providing service within next three days then I'd report you to OFAC.
Despite my selecting all possible options for Network Solutions, etc. to not provide my email address to 3rd parties, it still happens. My email gets filled with junk from whomever Network Solutions sells my address to, then when I request more storage space, I'm told it will cost me $87/month. No other options. Sounds like extortion to me. Microsoft charges me $19.95/year for 1 tb of storage. Other providers charge literally a few dollars monthly for 50 mb of email storage - see GoDaddy for example. You need to provide a competitive amount of storage for the same few dollars a month, not $87.00... that's outrageous. And please stop selling addresses to 3rd parties... it's such a betrayal to your customers. We'll see what comes first... Network Solutions providing enough email space at competitive prices, or me moving my two websites and other domain names to another provider after being with Network Solutions for 13 years.
I have phoned customer service several times over the past couple of years and it's always the same - I would have to pay over $80 more every month to get a little more email storage. Unacceptable.
webmail service
The Network Solutions web email has never been great but has recently gone down hill. Every couple of weeks my emails stop arriving. I call them up and request that they send me my emails. They mostly oblige. I inquire about the ones that didn't and they say 'spam filter.' These are often messages from me to me. At one point they volunteered to 'white list' me, didn't help. They are very cagey about how their spam filter works and have no information at all about why it sees fit to interfere with my private emails to myself.
Unfortunately, real spam has no trouble at all getting past their 'spam filter.' It often arrives without a 'to' field, and there is no way to find out how the message reached my inbox. Until recently it was possible to right click on 'view page source' and search for the 'apparently to' field. This is important because the spam will typically provide an unsubscribe link that demands to know which email address is being unsubscribed, hoping to pick up new email addresses in the process. Today Network Solutions effectively disabled the view source feature. Now they are only willing to show the source for the body of the email, and that has had all of its line breaks removed and is thus totally unreadable. I gather the spammers demanded an upgrade - and got it.
I’ve been with Network Solutions since 2002, if it weren’t so much work to migrate a website I’d be free of them by now.
This complaint contains a significant goof. There are two view source options, one by the browser and one by Network Solutions. The one by Network Solutions is still there and works just as before.
This review contains a significant goof. There are two "view source" options, one by the browser and one by network solutions. The one by network solutions is still there and still fine.

good company
Network Solution Co is a great company, i signed up with their relocation service and i got a new house within a week of signing up! i highly recommend them if you want to move fast! i don't have time to search for my own properties so i used these after i found an advert online for them - i went on their website and rang them and then signed up… i have saved loads of money with using them because I've got a private landlord not an agency so saved thousands! highly recommend them.
Terrible Web designers
Our company was contacted by Shaina a sales rep at the Pittsburgh office of web.com. Since their office was located in Foster Plaza 5 minutes from my home I agreed to meet with the company. During the meeting the representatives told me how their company was an expert at designing Google friendly websites and driving customer traffic to the website. After listening to and falling for their line off bull Ship, I signed up. My understanding was that Web.com had worked with other replacement window companies like mine and were experts. I signed up on Feb. 12, 2014 and handed a check over for 1, 295.00 to build the website. I told the sales people what I wanted to see on the website. We were contacted in early march by Kathryn Perez who worked in their Florida office. She forwarded a e-mail that had a link to the website they custom built for our company. What a joke! I knew we were in trouble the minute I saw the site. The site may have been Google friendly but getting customers to call and buy replacement windows was another matter. We received only 1 call from a customer looking to buy a door. The other 2 calls were for repairs, a service we do not offer, and one call from Jason Zombeck, the manager of the newly opened Web.com Pittsburgh branch wanting to know why we cancelled our service shortly after starting it. Business owners stay away from these guys unless you have thousands of dollars to waste on useless advertising. There are over 500 complaints on file with the Better Business Bureau. Many are for automatic billing for their services. Web.com is just as bad as all the other local companies selling Google Ad words Internet advertising. We got over 80 people who saw the website but only one call from a potential customer. When I suggested changes I wanted to make to Kathryn Perez I was told to leave the site as is. Web.com is your typical company who over promise and under delivers. This mistake cost our company 2, 400.00 and Web.com has refused to refund any money. Stay away from them!
It sounds like WIndowsexpert is not a marketing expert and is unable to allow the company he hired to manage the marketing for his business actually manage the marketing for his business. Marketing doesn't happen overnight, it is an investment in your business that takes at least a little bit of time and patience to develop. Choosing a capable partner is just the first step.
I came across this and I have to say, from what I am reading you cancelled the service right after starting. It sounds like the program was never given a chance to work. I can tell you that over 80% of the lead programs like you purchased stay with Web. They take a few months to get up and going due to SEO efforts. It is not a miracle overnight solution, but a long term solution. It sounds like they let you cancel your program, which most other companies would not, so be thankful for that. I just do not see how you can bash a company when you did not allow any amount of time for the program to work. It's like me buying a window from you because it is supposed to make my energy bill go down and I make you come get it after you installed it less than a month ago because my bill didn't go down on my newest statement. Lastly the over 500 complaints you speak of are not the division you were working with. These complaints are from DIY services, and cheaper products just to get online. The complaints are from people that think they should be getting 50 calls a month for 79.00. Everyone would own a business if it was that easy.
billing fraud
Network Solutions is deceptive and dishonest in its billing practices. They have overcharged us and double charged us for services over and over again. We got fed up with problems and the bureaucratic response to our complaints. I had to argue with no less than 5 different managers over weeks to get credited for $1200 in overcharges. It was a nightmare.
Anytime you allow an autorenewal you have to make very sure you cancel and get it in email. They will deliberately cancel it by phone and then continue to charge you until you call and complain then they will say did you write the ticket number down because we don't have any record of your cancellation. Its a scam and it cost me a lot of money.
They basically always fall back on "according to our terms of service" ie. the fine print you never read we cannot give you a refund because we don't have a record of the cancellation. It is a complete scam and I am reporting them to the FTC.
Any other customers who have been scammed by network solutions should also contact the Federal Trade Commission and file a formal complaint on www.ftc.gov It is very easy to file the complaint and there are obviously many network solutions victims who have complained about their deceptive and fraudulent billing practices. Let's blow the whistle on network solutions and prevent other consumers from being victimized.
fraud
When we renewed a domain name we paid an additional fee for "protection" to ensure the name could not be lost if there was a problem the next time the domain was due for renewal. It turns out that the "protection" term is less than the domain renewal term, so what good is the protection? When I learn it was a waste of money to purchase protection, naturally, I requested a refund. It has now been 90 days and no refund has been received. A call to Network Solutions resulted in a promise of a return call, but it has not happened. Based on what I have just read on this site, I guess I should stop wasting my time trying to get the refund; my time is more valuable than chasing after a business practicing fraud.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
