Nipsco Home Solutions is the worst
Nipsco Home Solutions is the worst. They shut off my service in the middle of winter. I've been paying them for years and they basically told me to go f*** myself. Right now, I'm sitting in my house with a temperature of 14 degrees. It's outrageous. These people should be sued.

Like, what's up with that? And don't even get me started on their sewer lines. They need to take responsibility for their own stuff.

I asked for a refund cuz my stuff got messed up from a power surge. I sent in all the papers they wanted to get my money back in October but I still ain't got no money. I talked to a bunch of customer service people but they ain't helped me yet. I need $220 for my Primo Water Cooler ($165) and my microwave ($55).

They shut me off in winter. I ain't got no money 'cause I'm disabled and applied for energy help but it takes too long. They said tough luck. Now I'm freezing without heat or electricity. I been payin on dis plan for almost 5 yrs. A total of *** dollars plus. My heater stopped workin. Had two reputable companies tell me dat it was unfixable. Home solutions tells me I get nothin. Dat I have da original contract and it has changed. I feel totally taken advantage of. I have da original contract and have never received anythin different. It is clear on dis contract dat my situation has some coverage. I have gone over it several times and I clearly qualify. What can I do? If they refuse to help me dey been completely lyin dis whole time.

I called Nipsco Home Solutions last week for water heater service. The subcontractor was supposed to be here at 9:30 am today, but he didn't show up. I called him at 9:45 am, but he still didn't come. The service for my fridge's ice maker was also a no-show. When I called them, they said they don't service my area. They claimed they sent an email to Home Solutions on October 2, telling them not to go that far. I called Home Solutions again, and they assigned a new subcontractor who was supposed to contact me within 4 hours. But still, no help. I called Sears, and they're coming tomorrow at 9:30 am. I regret having this service for several years and getting no help.

Had Nipsco Home Solutions for a long time. Called them on Sunday 'cause furnace not working. They said someone come in 4 hours. But 5 hours later no one showed. We called back, customer service no understand my problem and said pay for repairs and get reimbursed. No one there at 9pm on Sunday. So we called again and they said tech come today. I called tech number they gave. She said company no honor Nipsco claim and won't come. Now we pay 100% and stop all Nipsco add ons 'cause they no good.

When I went to the Home Solutions website, it said I had no coverage. So I chatted with them and the customer service person said I had no coverage. When I asked why I was still being charged $10.99/month, they found the service under another account number, but same name and address. The rep said I couldn't cancel the service unless I agreed to pay for the rest of the month. I have the chat log with the rep.

Then I saw on page 2 it was for a warranty from NIPSCO Home Solutions. I had no clue. I called them and cancelled it right away. They said I agreed to it in 2019. I checked my records and found a letter from them with a Residential Customer Agreement. I told them there was no signature of agreement on the paper and they said it was verbal. I would have never agreed over the phone to pay for a warranty. THIS IS A SCAM! I wish I caught it sooner. My advice is to check EVERY line item of EVERY bill to make sure it's right. PS: My rating is actually "0" but that's not an option here.

I got NIPSCO Home Solutions for my water and sewer line. I sold my house and moved to an apartment. I thought they would cancel my coverage, but they didn't. I kept getting billed for it. I called NOISCO, but they didn't do anything. Finally, I got the number for NIPSCO Home Solutions. At first, they hung up on me when I wanted to cancel. I called back and stayed on with the agent. They wouldn't give me any credit for the months I didn't need the service. I had to agree to pay until the end of the next service period. The agent gave me a cancellation number, but when I tried to verify it, he only gave me his first name and no ID number. I hope it's actually cancelled because I'm pretty sure NIPSCO won't take it off my bill. Be careful with this company. They don't seem to care about keeping customers happy.

I called them on September 28, 2022 to cancel and they still keep billing me. I reached out to NIPSCO on November 23, 2022 to help me stop the billing. They sent a notice to NIPSCO Home Solution's "escalation department" for follow-up. On November 29, 2022, *** called me and said I owe them $365.50 because they have no record of my cancellation. He was rude and refused to transfer me to a supervisor. I called NIPSCO and *** told me to call them again to request a supervisor, but I wasn't allowed to speak with one. They said a supervisor would call me back, but I'm still waiting. I had their service for over 15 years and cancelled because their customer service was bad. They're trying to charge me for a service I cancelled months ago. This is terrible customer service and I need help resolving this.

totally disrespectful, untruthful not a good option
Someone showed up at 6:30 am, spouted a bunch of garbage. This is a sketchy area/sketchy group. He either didn't have the tools or info. to do what he said needed to be done. Someone met him in front of my house and they did their song and dance. No one was called, and then they asked to go into your house hours later -- first he wanted to come back. This is what crappy communities are made of -- no secret.

My services were canceled and I was continued to be charged for over a year for these services. $51.43 per month. I was told I would be getting a refund. I have not received any refund and now nobody has any information on the account. I spoke with a supervisor regarding the refund and was assured I would be refunded the $617.16 that I was charged. This has been 6 months of waiting or more. If I do not receive my refund I will seek litigation regarding this matter and pursue any additional legal fees in order to obtain my refund.

Last year, my water heater needed a $60 part and they refused to cover it. I put in the part and it has been working flawlessly for a year. I called to make an appointment for someone to come out and fix it, but waited a week and no one showed up. I called back to find out when they were coming, but was told that my contract was too old and they no longer do leases in the ***. Because of that, they won't replace the water heater. The repair guy came out and said I needed a gas valve. I asked if it was covered and he said yes, but then he said it really wasnt cuz my water tank was 12 years old. I never knew about the age thing, but I was paying every month for something that might not be covered. I called the company and they said old appliances wont be replaced. Why didnt they tell me that before? I paid on time every month. I think they should give me my money back for the time I paid without knowing it wouldnt be covered. How can they say its covered but then say its not cuz of the age of my appliance?

I got the insurance with nipsco home solutions in August for $12.95 a month. But then in 2020, they raised it to $19.95 a month. The deal was to cover repairs to my outside water and sewer lines for my home. I noticed a small dip at the front of my home where the sewer line runs out to the street. So, I called the company to let them know. They said if it's not backing up in the house, they won't do anything. (It's not backing up in the house). The following year, I noticed it was sinking more, and they refused to send anybody out to make a repair. So, I asked who they use to make their repairs. I called the plumbing company and had them come out to run a camera through the sewer. They said they see sand in the sewer where the sinking is happening, but the sewer isn't blocked. But I said it's washing my sand out to the main sewer line, that's why my ground is sinking, so there must be a break or split there. I notified the insurance, and they refused to make a repair. Now it's sinking more, and pretty soon, I'll have a sinkhole if it continues. It's getting worse every year. The last time I measured it was 12 inches deep.

I didn't know I had insurance on my nipsco services. I called nipsco home solutions to unenroll and asked them how I got enrolled. They said I enrolled verbally, but I didn't. They said they'd escalate my issue and to call back if I didn't hear from them in a week. They also said to pay my bill minus their service fee. Nipsco said I was late on my bill and said I should've paid the service fee anyway. Still no call from home solutions. I called a week later and they said my issue had been escalated and they'd call back in 24 hours. Another week went by and no call. I got the next month's bill and the service was never canceled and they charged me for the late fee from last month's payment. I called again and got the same answer- my issue has been escalated and to wait another week and not pay my utility bill. I paid over $300 in these service fees that I never enrolled for and never knew I had. They need to refund most or all of this, stop keeping me enrolled in this insurance fee, and call me back before my next bill comes. One month should've been enough time to get this resolved.

But then in July, I saw they billed me again. So I called them up on July 19th and canceled it. They sent me a letter saying it was canceled. But when I went to Nipsco today, the lady there said she can't do nothing about it unless Nipsco Home Solutions sends something in writing. This thing is on my Nipsco bill for lights and gas. So I called Nipsco Home Solutions again to see if they told Nipsco I canceled it and to stop billing me. But the lady on the phone said I didn't cancel it till 9/29/22. I told her that's not true and I canceled it on 7/19/22 and I got the yellow card to prove it. I want my money back and for them to stop billing me. This whole thing is making me feel uneasy cause it's on my light and gas bill.

I saw that we were getting charged for NIPSCO Home Solutions on our gas bill. I contacted NIPSCO and they told me to call another company. I called them and found out we've been getting charged for NIPSCO Home Solutions since ***. NIPSCO sold that part of their business to another company in June .

Nipsco Home Solutions gave me a warranty service and approved the work done by Roto Rooter. RR created a signed contract for additional work to be done, which is not part of the warranty. I received a call from someone named ***, who told me I would owe $2373.90 out of pocket. I contacted RR to confirm, and they denied that I owed anything. They said a contract was in my email, which I found while on the phone, and did a full inquisition with him to confirm the contract was correctly showing only *** would be due me and no surprises. RR insisted this was correct. I signed the RR contract and paid my 50% due by 2p 12/15/22 for sewer service to be done. Two hours after signing the contract with RR, ***(***) informed RR that he made an error and would not cover it at 100% due to a deductible. I got a call from RR (***) telling me of the *** error and the new amount I would owe them is ***, not ***. I had no breakdown of costs at this point, but had asked several times, but was told it was between the ***. One hour later, *** sent an email to RR changing the amount owed again. RR emailed me giving an even higher amount due. *** and included a portion of an email from *** showing my deductible and costs. Even this portion of the new amount due had errors of charging $286.95 against my deductible for work not even performed. RR noted that in the email and backed that charge out but informed me that the *** now said I would owe NOT THE $2373.90 because of another *** error in this email math, but after backing out the $286.95 the amount not covered is now *** + the original cost of ***. So now *** changed the amount covered again w/ me now responsible for ***. RR made a contract, signed by both parties w/pmt. *** has quoted coverage amts effecting multiple changes after a contract was signed.
