delinquent account???
North Shore Agency
I just received a letter from North Shore Agency in re to a delinquent account. As stated in the letter; Re: Disney Movie Club membership #1902576 Amount: $53.88
Please be advised that I am not a member of the Disney Movie Club and haven't been for years. Back then, they were charging me for something that I did not receive and/or that was returned. It wasn't until a phone conversation with this club that things were straightens out. I might add that the representative, on behalf of the Disney Movie Club, apologized.
I will now consider that this issue is moot.
Please direct this letter to the Disney Club and or North Shore Agency.
Sincerely,
Mary Welshimer
fraudulent bill collection
I received a statement indicating that I owed Federal Express over $2, 000.00. The North Shore Agency statement was sent to my place of employment where we use FEDEX all the time; however, we have a group account number to which all our shippers automatically refer to. This account number did not appear on their statement.
How North Shore acquired my name directly is a mystery, but I have forwarded this statement on to our Legal Department.

bogus
I am having the same issues that everyone else is with this company and i have found that there was a class action lawsuit against them for this activity in 2007. I am not sure what the results of the case were but how is it that they are still getting away wih this? North Shore is saying that I have a delinquent account with Guns and Ammo but Guns and Ammo says that my account is fine. I checked my credit report days ago and have a monitoring service that will alert me of any changes to my credit. My credit is clean so where is this company coming from and how can i get them to stop sending me letters?

rebilling me for something I paid them for already
On July 30th 2009 I recieved a collection letter from North Shore Agency Stating " This is unacceptable" that I owed Disney Movie Club $66. I owed them this because the automatic payments they were receiving where canceled because I receieved a new debit card and forgot to update the info. Well any way once I receieved the letter I immediately called and made the payment and cleared the account up. Yesterday Sept 8, 2009 I recieve yet another letter from North Shore claiming I still owe the $66. Well I pulled up my bank statements and easily found that on 7/31/09 a payment to the North Shore Agency was posted on my account. When I called them this morning first all on there automated symstem all you can have the option to do is to make a payment. There is no option to speak to a representative. However on my bank statement I found a phone number attached to the debit they made, so I called it and I actually got a person. After explaining it too him he didn't believe me that I had made the payment and said he needed proof from my bank! Then I questioned him saying ok if the payment was never made, then how did I get your number! The number I called was not on the letter anywhere it was a totally different number.
My bank was gracious enough to fax me a copy of the debit withdraw they made. I then proceeded to fax it to the idiot I spoke to on the phone. I requested a phone call back... do you think I got one, nope I finally called him back and asked if he received my fax, at that point he decided to look for it and said yes I have your fax and phone number... I had to ask him if he was going to call me back once this matter is cleared. I am still waiting for the call. How hard is it to see that their incompetent company receieved money from my bank on 7/30/09 the statement is clear as day... As god is my wittness they will not receive another cent from [protected]@! Oh and as an avid Disney consumer... they will hear from me !

terrible company
Had a subscription to Disney movie Club, and received a collection notice from North Shore Agency Canada. I promptly paid the Collections to ensure my credit was safe. I called them (Disney Movie Club) to verify that the received the payment and that all was good, only to find that I did not owe them anything (long story). I have tried to contact NSAC only to find that any number I find has been disconnected and all these different address on the internet.

prevention magazine subsription fraud
I started receiving Prevention magazine a few months back and then they sent me a bill for subscription. I ignored it as I never ordered the magazine in the first place, not even as a free trial offer from anywhere.
Now last week, I received a letter from North Shore Agency(Collection Agency) for payment of Prevention magazine. Well, I don't want to pay for a thing I never ordered.
Now, since this morning I have tried to call the phone number given on the North Shore Agency letter to talk to these guys what is going on and no luck.
Any suggestions?

North Shore subscribes to the belief that if they get 3% of the people to whom they send fraudulent collections they will be happily rolling in cash. They are an unscrupulous bunch of thieves.
My advice to you is to send them a letter to stop their fraudulent collection actions and send a copy to the Better Business Bureau and to the consumer fraud department of your State's Attorney General's Office. Make sure that North Shore is made aware that your request to them was also sent to the appropriate consumer protection agencies.
Good Luck!
fraud and cheating
Like most of you that has filed a complaint about North Shore Agency, I received a complimentary offer of essence, Fortune and Essence. After the first issues of these magazines were sent to me, I received an offer to subscribe to them. But I never did and the magazines stopped coming. So you can imagine my surprise when I got a collection letter from North...

I suddenly received a bill from NSA for my professional journal that I neglected to renew. That journal stopped sending me the journals in January of 2008 likely to non-payment/non-renewal. NSA in the meantime has billed me on Oct 17th for the annual subscription of the 'goods' that were never received. I had called the Journal directly and paid them to resume/continue, but this situation should have never gone to collection. Now there is no way to TALK to a live person at NSA - all is electronic PAY OR ELSE.
What is going on!?!?!? We should involve David Horowitz on this. We need to fight back.

They sent me Sprint bill and i have never had Sprint. Tried to email, it is an automatic respond that says they cant read emails. going to report on social media.
Just got a bill from NSA for a Verizon Wireless bill, I canceled the account after numerous attempts to get Verizon to fix a problem of no service, dropped calls, phone turning off and on by itself, no luck. Was told by Verizon to turn phones on and I should sell my account to someone else. Love how the customer has to fulfill the contract term but Varizon does not. They are forcing me to continue to pay them for nothing, and now send the scamming dogs after me, we citizens have no protection at all. Isn't it great how our government bails everyone who is ripping us off with our money and continues to allow then to abuse us. Land of the free, ya right!
fraudulant collection letters
Scholastic Books sends books to homes of people that did not order them or sends no books at all and then sends bills for these books that you never ordered or received in the first place.
When you don't pay, they send bogus collection letters from North Shore Agency. I found out on the Internet that North Shore Agency in this case is little more than the company that sends a letter from Scholastic to make it look more official and intimidating.
The address to send in your payment is to Beginning Readers Program, not North Shore Agency.
This company covers all bases. When I called them to ask for proof of ordering, they claimed that the order came from some bogus email address and it must have been Internet Fraud and they would make a note on the account of this Fraud and no money was owed.
How many companies let you order merchandise without paying or providing proof of who you are. They must pull this scam quite a bit and have some success with it to keep it up. Some people must be paying these bills out of fear that their credit will be hurt.
A company like this should not be allowed to do business.
You might want to try [protected] and stay on the line till the end when they prompt you to enter zero for assistance!
I'm dealing with the exact same problem!
I've talked to the company that now runs Beginning Readers and my account is cleared with them. I recieved the books when I did not order them, sent them back, and they've marked this all on my account.
I've been dealing with North Shore since October, 2008. One notice said I owed one amount, another notice said I owed another amount.
I've written a letter, but just got another notice. I'm getting ready to send out another letter today, and it will be certified.
I received the exact same type letter from North Shore Agency, Inc on 11/21/08. It was saying that I owed $50 for Beginning Readers Scholastic Books. I have tried to call them but haven't been able to reach a person and not an automated system. I will be responding via written correspondence to dispute this.
Finding this website and this complaint put my mind at ease about whether this was legit or not.
Thanks for posting!
rip off!
My sister is 97 and has a severe case of dimentia, she has been in a nursing home for almost 3 years. My husband and I have power of attorney and just started to have her mail sent to us. We received an IOU from North Shore Agency for $ 44.79. We have cleaned out her apartment and checked all the mail in her room. We have never seen this item or any reference to any billing for it. To our knowledge she never had this item.
I wonder if anyone else has just had a change of address?
