Leak in bathroom
I live in nycha housing in queens with my legally blind mother and we have been having the leak in the bathroom issue from july 31 this year till today. I have been to the management office 4 times pleading with them to do something. I went down there monday and ms mathews told me the super was coming we waited all day never showed up at all they came the next day and gave us excuse after excuse. Housing sometimes doesnt even show up and if they do they go upstairs to 2c and flush the toilet and come back and say theres no leak and close the ticket the nect day it leaks again. I have a leak right now and my mother and I heard the toilet above sound like its clogged so we know its coming from them. They came down stairs trying to argue because we called the cops and the fire department to make sure there wouldnt be a fire and that was a problem. All of this would be avoided if they would just work with us to get this simple request fixed we never had any issues till they moved in upstairs. Housing only cares about you paying rent they could care less about your safety and thats against the rules what if I slipped or my mom got hurt because of their lack of compassion and understanding plesse help us I have attached pictures of the tickets and water ant the pipe above us
Desired outcome: All i want is the leak to be fixed and I would like a apology from nycha housing as well as the person who has the leak
Application Status - Certified
Hello,
My name is Ashley Spears and I applied to NYCHA in 2017. I currently work for NYC Department of Education and I have a 2 year old daughter that has been in and out of the hospital. I currently reside at a shelter (Woodruff Residence) in Brooklyn, NY. I interviewed with NYCHA in October, became certified and picked for Seth Low Houses. I also passed a criminal background check. The final step is to get an apartment. I have not heard anything from NYCHA and I live in a shelter that is now overrun with migrants and other residents. I have been waiting for years for an apartment to get out of the shelter with no success. Is it possible for someone to help me get answers? I truly am desperate for help.
My NYCHA case number is [protected]. I am desperate for help. thank you.
Desired outcome: I'd appreciate a response or support to get help with NYCHA
Property manager negligence
I'm a resident at Vladeck houses, Since 2008 I had reported to the manager's office about the tenants under my apartment smoking illegal drugs and selling illegal drug activities, connecting illegal hook-up from bathroom and kitchen causing hot water interruptions in to my apartment. The tenants illegal drug activities and fumes is getting into my apartment 24 hours a day, even caused several neighboring tenants to faint from the toxic drug fumes. Police were called and was told there's nothing they can do about it, to speak with manager or report to fbi. I had reported to CCC smoke free complaint.
The head of household and 2 of her adult kids continues to smoke/sell/manufacture illegal drugs from inside their apartment, Smoking Ban in NYCHA'S apartments 2018, it's 12/4/2022, 4 YEARS and 5 months and nothing has been done, and 14 years total of lack of hot water, peeling paint caused by tenants under my apartment manufacturing and smoking illegal drugs. Also causing me health issues and chronic asthma attacks. I'm about to call a lawyer, the NYCHA'S negligence is unacceptable!
Desired outcome: I appreciate a response!
Apartment issues
I am filing this compliant about repairs needed in my apartment and they have not yet been done. Housing/plumbers came into the apartment to patch a leak on 4/27/22. Since then, someone else came in to fix the leak and informed me that I have asbestos (which no one told me about before). My kitchen cabinets are falling off the wall and the floor needs repairs because I have fallen from loose tile.
Desired outcome: Have my repairs completed!!!
NYCHA Compliance Specialist - MS Precious Williams
Ms. Williams,
Failed to assist a resident with completing their application for rental assistance in a feasible time allowing the resident to slip into a situation where they may have to leave their current residence.
Her demeanor is very rude and condensing. She has shown little ability to understand varied situations and apply solutions that will benefit the interested parties.
Her Attitude stinks. If she does not like her role, then she should not make it difficult for others to use the system.
her info is as follows.
Williams, Precious
Complaince Specialist

Desired outcome: It's important that an investigation be done into the way Ms. Precious handles her cases. if it is found that her attitude is consistent, only her replacement is suitable. Else have her take mandatory training in customer service.
Customer service call center
I have been calling for days. Nycha seems to have removed the ability to email any nycha employees. You can't get through on the phone, social media or email. The people that do answer the phones when they actually answer are rude and dismissive. I am trying to ask a simple question and can't even get intouch with anyone. This needs an investigation. People are losing their Section8 because they office isn't doing their jobs.
HCV tenant desperately seeking assistance.

For over a year, I have reached out numerous times. Pleading for resolution to mistakes made by NYCHA staff and/or website/app. I have made attemps in person, email and fax. I have handed in and uploaded documents more than once for recertification and changes in income. With the latest information being sent in June. NYCHA has been neglectful losing documents, not processing paperwork in a timely manner, violating my privacy by telling a socialworker I was suicidial - which I have never been and never said anything to the effect. I have a four thousand dollar rent credit. All due to inadequate service. I had an active port out/transfer in place but had to cancel and resubmit to a different jurisdiction. After months of searching and spending hundreds of dollars on fees my family was approved for a place. However, my port out/transfer was denied because of recertification/not reporting income. Which I did more than once. NYCHA mishandled my documents. NYCHA received my paperwork and didn't review or process it. I was working in the State I was planning to move and this week lost my job due to NYCHA's negligence. I have always submitted documents in a timely manner. This is NYCHA's mistake and my family is paying the price. My son was recently attacked and I have informed NYCHA multiple times my family is unsafe in our area. And have been trying to transfer for over a year. But there has always been an issue on NYCHA's behalf. I have contacted everyone I could The Mayor, Sentators and most recently a Bronx Council member. I need help! The issues with my case/account are due to NYCHA. NYCHA's website states that they are aware of techinical issues and have sent letters (which I have received) informing tenants to ignore the evictions/lost of section 8 and request to recertify. If NYCHA is aware of system failure why am I being penalized for staff and system malfunctions.
Thank you!
Micha MIles
Desired outcome: Can't save my job. If my voucher was issued I could finally move. I lost my mom and grandmother recently. Dealing with NYCHA has added to my families pain and suffering. I just want a fresh start. I just want my kids to feel safe.
Tenant
A new tenant moved into a vacant apartment on my floor about 3 months ago. It’s a couple living in the apartment and a child. There is a huge domestic violence issue that occurs in that apartment at least twice a week. The police department is constantly here. The boyfriend physically assaults the girlfriend in the hallway for other tenants to see and then the girlfriend locks him out and the boyfriend is seen banging and kicking the door till she opens and lets him in. This fiasco happens late at night into the wee early morning hours. The girlfriend has gotten her locks changed multiple times but still allows the boyfriend to live with her. Me and my kids have such hard times sleeping . Then usually the day after the boyfriend assaults the girlfriend leaving a large knot on her forehead, the girlfriend blasts very loud music for 24 hours. Every morning I take my kids to school we walk past them in the hallway fighting. Before this couple moved in, my building was very quiet with no problems other than a faulty elevator. I am concerned for my kids, as well as the tenants that live right next door to the noise of this couple. I am also very concerned for the child that lives with them.
Desired outcome: An eviction or the boyfriend to be living elsewhere . I don’t think he’s on the lease.
No water
I live in Sumner housing delvopment, we have been living without water for damn near 3 years. The management office is aware of the problem and nothing is being done about it. I have a 3 year old son and it's not healthy for any human being. Not only do we not have water we also have no heat.. the outside of the building has smoke coming out the ground. The lobby door has been broke for over 2 years. We have homeless people sleeping in the stair case. We really need help
Desired outcome: I put in a transfer and waiting for the apartment to be inspection
Tenant is a felon
Tenant is a felon and no longer has custody of child and is living In public housing at 2101 Madison Ave. apartment 13E And should not be living in public housing please investigate this case this man is a pedophile
At the moment he’s in court for abuse and neglect of the child that was living in the apartment at the time with him he was able to obtain this apartment claiming domestic violence which also is a lie
This man is dangerous has also filed numerous false accusations against another tenant in the same building and took out order of protections against her this man needs to be removed he is a danger to the community and has been since his child was removed from the home for neglect
Desired outcome: To be removed and investigated
Hole in the wall
I have a 3 ft x 3 ft hole in the bedroom along with 2 smaller ones in the kitchen that has been there since May of 2022. The hole was open by nycha to repair water pipe issue in the wall that was not related to my apartment. I have reach out multiple times to my housing assist, nycha and any other source i can but nothing has been done. The case # is [protected] and has started from May 5 2022
Desired outcome: repair of the walls
Refrigerator
My refrigerator been broken for days now. I had to throw away all my groceries. I made a ticket August 21/2022. housing worker came and told me that there is no refrigerator at this moment and I need it to wait. No emergency backup no updates on when I should be getting a refrigerator. I have 2 kids going back to school I work and also attending to school myself and have to get school supplies and uniforms and now worry on how to get a refrigerator myself so we can have food at home and be able to pack our lunches. Got myself a refrigerator on sale for my kids and now going through a problem housing coming to get the broken refrigerator out the apartment so I can fit my new refrigerator. Nycha don’t have emergency refrigerator or any appliances because the worker’s and management from NYC housing steals them for personal use or give them to family or friends they know from housing. Everything that breaks or needs to be change in housing is never resolved or fix by workers because many of them don’t show up to do the job because they getting high at work. City needs to do better with management, supervisors and workers. And this is from Vladeck houses Manhattan 10002. I’m sure mostly all Nycha developments has this same issue.

I'm complaining about my bathroom!!!
I have a big hole in the upper part of my ceiling in my bathroom where my toilet is since May tomorrow will be August. Water is leaking smelly, and stink and it is getting worse! I have no outlet either! I called many times getting many ticket numbers. Only to have maintenance workers come out look take pictures other times not coming at all. Now mind you I have to use my toilet to urinate and to do #2 I took off from my job and went to the management office not much of help! The problem is coming from up above my apartment, but the young lady bathroom is totally destroyed with blocks of cement all over her wall and toilet. She has pictures like I do! I do not have 2 bathrooms. I live in a one-bedroom apartment in Andrew Jackson projects! I am crying out for further action to be taken immediately!

Rent overcharge
On 04/28/2022 I filed a 30-day-notice to vacate my NYCHA Apartment, I moved out on 05/25/2022 and my final walk through was 05/27/2022. On 05/27/2022 I received a signed receipt of returned keys.
Although all the rights steps have been followed, I am being billed for May, June and July 2022. I have contacted the housing assistant who states that an adjustment will have to be made by the Housing Manager but my greatest concern is if it will get done as communication skills at NYCHA is non-existent.
I can't file any paperwork at Housing Court since I am no longer a tenant. Therefore, I need any assistance that can help me!
The kingdome basketball court... At king tower houses!
Loud music blasted from a speaker & blood gang hanging out all night to 5am. Selling drugs, doing drugs, gambling! Not to mention the ATVS driving around making noise... like if this is not a residential place where ppl Live & Sleep! Why isn't there curfew like before! Also, they are violating the lease & rules & regulations! That park & all these parks had curfew! It's not fair! And half of these losers don't even live here!
Desired outcome: START INFORCING THE RULES AND REGULATIONS AGAIN! If there is no kingdome game that park should be closed!
Manager threatening with the police officer.
