Loud music/party
I live in Wagner Houses, and it is impossible to have some rest with loud music coming from speakers. The police (311) has cooperating lately, least they are coming to solve the issue, but as soon the police leaves the premise they continue with the loud music, loud talk and smoking: from marijuana to hookah etc.
When summer comes, the life here become a hell. Working from home nowadays is, for some people, necessary, and it is impossible to make phone calls due to the background noise. It doesn't matter if my window is double panel, still I am not able to muffle it.
The noises and altercations between people and their horrible choice of music are making me sick. Thanks!
Desired outcome: I would like to live in a place where I can have some type of peace, since make these noises are optional, "using earphones". Noises and smoke are detrimental to our health.
Housing assistant cinnamon thomas at gowanus houses
I submitted numerous paystubs for my annual review. Due to lack of work the past year I am not making what I should be. This housing assistant has messed up my rent twice. The first time I went into the office and told her my income changed. She said bring in paystubs which I did, she not only didn’t lower my rent, she increased it by 300 dollars. If I get paid biweekly and my income for the month is 900 dollars how can I afford to pay 1,600 dollars in rent every month?
Desired outcome: I need my rent to be lowered and I don’t want this housing assistant to have access to my account anymore
NYC housing sec 8 do not answer the call
I call every day to the section 8 to hear if they received my desertification form and my intern form because I am asking for portability and I been call for the last month waiting. From 45 minutes to an 1 hour and 40 minutes for some one to answer the phone and after all that waiting time I get disconnected
Desired outcome: I want to move from new York city to Hernando Florida and I can not proceed my planes without a portability transfer I need my Nycha to confirm that they revive d my resertification and iternim paper
Section 8 annual recertification
Re voucher # 0238240 for Miron Grudnikov at 86 Bay 29 street, Apt 5B. Brooklyn NY 11214. Submitted all necessary documents multiple time. Twice mailed documents at the beginning of December of 2021. Both times they are lost in the Long Island City. In January of 2022 uploaded documents using NYCHA website. After multiple phone calls supervisor confirmed the receipt of all needed documents and even put a note in the case. Again, after multiple calls, was told to wait (already mid March). Yesterday, on March 18, 2022 received a mail from NYCHA stating that section 8 is terminated due to missing affidavit of income for Inna Grudnikov. How is that possible since even i can see it on your website and i was told many times you have all needed info.
All i can say - horrible service with complete disregard to people, especially when you dealing very old and very sick ones. 3 months of emotional torture.
Since my parents are very old and have trouble communicating in English, please call [protected] - Oleg Grudnikov (son)
Desired outcome: i would like a response from someone in charge re this 3 month ordeal
Disgusting tenants
I have the displeasure of living in West Brighton on Staten Island (building 1075). New tenants on the 8th floor are absolutely disgusting. Trash is left in front of the trash shoot daily. Just a few weeks ago a decomposing mouse on a sticky trap was left on the floor. Earlier this week someone left a small washing machine near the elevator. Ive complained to management and nothing happens.
Desired outcome: Cameras need to be installed on every floor. Tenants continue to leave trash on the floor, drop cigarette butts in front of my door, and smoke weed in the stairwells. There are rules, enforce them!
NYCHA fails to enforce tenant regulations causing a multitude of problems
Farragut Housing Management Office has repeatedly failed to address ongoing lease violations by tenants of 234 Sands Street Apt 10H spanning almost nine years. The primary violation is ongoing chronic noise disturbances: ball bouncing, throwing large objects against walls/floors, banging on pipes. Also, tenants have purchased a Pitbull dog that's allowed to bark and run throughout Apt 10H. Noise happens throughout day and night and conducted to intentionally cause disruptions to surround neighbors. Numerous 311 noise complaints have been filed and police have become involved numerous times with no resolution to the issues.
Desired outcome: Tenants need to be held accountable for ongoing daily violations of rent agreement by intentionally engaging within chronic noise disturbances.
Noisy/disrespectful neighbors
The neighbors upstairs in 65 Pike st. apt. 18G moved in late September 2020. they became a problem about a week and a half later. we were finding random items and scraps of food being thrown onto our AC and window sill. this never happened until they moved in. they're loud enough that I can hear everything, including the ages of their 2 boys, ages 2 and 5. based on what I hear during the day, I don't think the 5 year old goes to school nor have I heard the parents telling them to do homework. if he does go to school, it doesn't sound like he goes frequently. it's not uncommon for me to hear the parents hit them. they hit hard enough for me to hear the impact of the strikes. then in December 2021, these neighbors started to wake up around 3AM in the morning almost everyday with the children running around, screaming and throwing and banging things on their floor. the parents would scream at them. the parents themselves weren't much better because they would put the tv or radio on blast and I would loose over 3 hours of sleep. I have already filed over the phone complaints with NYCHA and I regularly file complaints with 311 but because this is NYCHA, I'm not sure if 311 would do anything about it. I'm not sure if NYCHA is taking this seriously.
it's pretty much the same thing during the day. based on what I hear, everyone seems to stay in the same bedroom in a 3 bedroom apartment. they don't seem to leave very often. I don't know what they do with the other 2 rooms. Illegal subletting is a possibility but as long as they pay their rent, I don't think NYCHA would care
Desired outcome: anything that would get them to stay quiet during the night with tenancy termination as a last resort
Neglect of service
Good Day,
My name is Olga Camacho. I live at 400 Brook Avenue Apt 2A bronx ny 10454.
The reason for this email is to get some help from anyone that will listen. I have been living at the above address for over 15 years. I pay my rent faithfully and I love the building and the area is very convenient for me. The second floor is ideal for me ( I am thankful for that) as I am claustrophobic afraid of long rides on elevators.
There is no first floor so I am right above the basement. I know that certain noises are to be expected every now and then. I am experiencing some very annoying/disturbing and very upsetting/scary noise from the doors that lead to the basement. There are 2 doors that constantly squeak and bang all day every day including weekends. It starts at 7am throughout the day. It echos very loudly in the bedrooms. (2 bedroom apartment) (I have an audio recording of such noise from my bedroom.) I am a very hard worker and my home is my peaceful place to relax and unwind. I have made numerous complaints to the management team as to please make the noise and banging stop. Pamela (manager) has been very kind as to try and assist with this issue but it has been over 2 weeks and I am still experiencing the same squeaking and banging noise. Throughout all the years I have never been through this kind of problem. I never heard this kind of noise in all the years living here. I was told that maybe it's the wind that's banging the door but I do know that there are anti-slam attachments for these kinds of things. My mother has a house I do have knowledge about these things. Those doors and hinges need replacement. It sounds like trying to pry open a door that has been locked for many years, It sounds like I am in a horror movie with the constant squeaking and slamming. so you can just imagine that kind of noise, especially in the bedrooms. The slamming is so loud that while the kids are sleeping it scares the hell out of them. Please I can't continue this way.
This really needs to stop. I am trying to be patient but my patience is running very thin. I do not want to be a problem tenant as I have lived here with hardly any/no complaints just when there is no hot water and that issue fixes very quickly. thank you. So if someone can actually listen and fix this very upsetting and annoying and scary problem I would really appreciate it.
I have attached very short recordings for you to hear. One is a minute the other is 32 seconds. This is from the bedrooms. Can you imagine this all day even on weekends?
Thank you again
Desired outcome: I would like the doors to be how they were. non disturbing to the ear.
Failure to complete services in a timely fashion.
My safety transfer approved, and action was taken to secure the unit on August 30th, 2021. However, it is now 22 weeks later, and I am still waiting for my keys. Due to "results pending from a lead paint inspection" which you claim took place in October of 2021.
If this scheme was conducted by any other landlord in New York City, immediate action would be taken by the authorities. However, because NYCHA has a history of failing to report incidents accurately, you continuously are able to use and abuse the system, thus avoiding any real recourse for your actions.
When I question management from various departments regarding this situation, I constantly encounter poor unprofessional behaviors, in addition to vague Politian answers. Incidents like these and other unaccountable behaviors have been tarnishing NYCHA for decades.
I wish everyone who works in this federally funded organization salary was based on their work performance and ethic. It would be a lot of low wages!
Desired outcome: 1. Contact the company who conducted this " Lead inspection" so an explanation and clarity can be provided as to why they are not responding to the numerous emails Woodside management noted they sent. Plus, my keys!
Maintenance
I am a resident at ocean hill Brownsville apartments and I have seen the apartment on Friday the 7 & signed the lease. I have not gotten my keys like I was promised. So the manger of my shelter told me I couldn't move in because there was a window that needed to b fixed because it was a safety issue. They advised me and my worker that the apartment will be ready on Tuesday I cal Tuesday still no window fixed. They also told me that the people where in the building to do repairs and now I have to wait til Thursday to call for and update I called Thursday and they told me it will be ready on Friday. I been waiting to see the apartment since August and now just seeing the apartment they keep changing the story on what needs to b fixed.
This complaint pertains to Apartment 6-D at 84-16 Rockaway Beach Blvd in Far Rockaway, NY
This complaint is directed towards the Housing Authority because they are not enforcing the limitation of tenants within one apartment. A person who is not on the lease, Darryl Sanford, has his family of 5 are living in the apartment of this senior citizen.
The senior citizen who is the actual tenant in apartment 6D, is being victimized because of her poor health as she has repeatedly requested Darryl Sanford to leave with his family. I am requesting the intervention of the authority to remove Darryl Sanford and his family of 5 from the apartment. His presence has also caused a health issue for the the senior citizen tenant because of his refusal to get vaccinations for himself the eligible members of his family. His actions may have caused the senior citizen tenant in 6D to be hospitalized with COVID. Again, I urgently bequest for the Housing Authority to remove Darryl Sanford and his family from the apartment.
Desired outcome: Remove Darryl Sanford and his family of 5 from apartment 6D.
Wagner houses employer
Wagner Houses employer Kiara Scott. She is a porter Kiara Scott suppose to be working she was stealing work time because she was harassing me and texting me meanwhile she was on the clock. I asked if she supposedly be working and she said yes and her supervisors know she's texting and she was entertaining them with the back and forth texting. That is very unacceptable if a person is texting during work time.
Section 8
Personnel Has ignored medical emergency (doctors request) moving and reasonable accommodation request. This is in extension for what we have continuously had. There is retaliation by specific dismissing manager and their cohorts assigned to assist as well. (Ms Estevez,) as well as an ignoring manager (Mr Vasquez.) Have made many complaints to NYC Mayor's line with zero response.

Tenants are selling drugs in building 754 Henry Street, Brooklyn, N.Y. 11231 apt 4c and apt 6c. Occupant in 4c is not supposed to be in there due to previous drug bust of apt. These individuals are also stealing packages left in hallway by carriers. When cops enter building, apt 4c is look out and warns apt 6c who go back in apt or cross roof. Transaction goes on all throughout day.
Desired outcome: termination of lease arrest for crime
No hot water no water pressure no heat
Moved to washington houses in the year 2017. Since april of 2017, there has been absolutely no water pressure. No heat throughout the entire apartment, barely ever any hot water. Numerous complaints and never any type of resolution! its very clear that nychas employees are unprofessional no credentials and they are not capable of running these buildings
Desired outcome: CLOSE DOWN THIS CITY AGENCY. NYCHA HAS 12 BOARD MEMBERS THEY ALL NEED TO BE REPLACED OR FIRED
I am coming about
A tenant stomping on the floor all through the whole apartment from day to night . I don't know if it's a special needs person but it Is definitely not situation any one should have to live with as life is hard as it is . I don't know if it's an apartment made for special need people because if these are the same tenants from last year there where tons of floods from there apartment to mines where I have video of the depths of water that I called the fire department over 10 times nearly 3 inches of water which caused weak walls which I now have mice for about a year already . The address is 90 Amsterdam Ave. Apt. 3F Any help what so ever would be greatly appreciated before anything worst can happen or reported else where . Thank you truly for your time and effort . Happy Holidays to you and yours .

Desired outcome: The tenant will have to obey housing rules or will have have to move
Certified waiting list
I applied with nycha back in 2017. I got certified on 04/15/2021 for
Wsur (brownstones) houses for 1br. Since april I did not hear nothing from nycha nor from office. Number I was provided seems like not working office. Could somebody please help me to understand why it is taking so long to get an offer for apartment? Is there any issue with repairs or what can be the reason? When I selected an apartment from list it said vacancy anticipated. It is been almost 9 month and me and my minor child have nowhere to go. By any chance does anyone know how long it may take to get an offer for apartment or that day may never come? From what I see many people around move to apartment 3-6 month after certification. We are really desperate and I will be waiting for answer.
Also nych says 50% is working families priorities which does not look like true.

Desired outcome: New apartment new development
