OCBC Bank credit card

I paid my Ocbc outstanding balance as reflected in the statement in full and before due date.

Thinking that I have already fully settled all my outstanding balance, I missed paying the residual interest which only appear in the next statement. I immediately made a full payment of the residual interest upon realizing it.

I appealed for waiver of the late fee but my appeals were rejected 3 times by sms.

I sent an email to explain and appeal for waiver in the e-banking mail but no reply after 1 week. I sent follow-up email and still no reply on the 2nd week.

Yesterday, I called the Ocbc customer hotline [protected] and waited for 30 minutes but no one pick up my call. I hung up and call again. Finally, I managed to get a customer service officer to pick up on my second attempt after selecting general card enquiry.

I have very good credit and payment profile, not a habitual or recalcitrant late payer. Banks approached me all the time to offer facilities and services.

My experience with 6 or 7 other banks were totally different from Ocbc. I do not need to wait for 30 minutes to speak to a customer service officer.

They do not put me through such frustrations to ask for fee waiver.

All my correspondences were replied mostly within 3-4 working days.

I will definitely cancelled all my personal and family facilities with Ocbc if my final appeal is rejected. Ocbc loss will be other banks gain.

All this for $80? In the long term, Ocbc will gain more from my business than the this $80 late fee.

These bad experiences by Ocbc customers will be other banks gain.

Dear ocbc...
Understand what is all about when comes to payments..i hope your customer service officer who are service the job can understand people situation...i have some payments that need to settle at your ..end with my situation of being working alone need to settle a lot of things..but your officer trying to make a big fast and says i lie..Yes im late with 1month payments if my calculations is right.but i will never late for couple of month..even i keep aplogies to your officer who trying to be raise his voice...wish i can pay everything if i have enough cash...but how late i am i still paid the amount ...i dont loan from ah long..but your officer like ah long..with the tone of voice...keep saying he do not know what management going to do with me..is this a something make me and my family feel afraid..how come you treat your customer this way...hope ocbc can understand customer problem before shine the voice at the customer...

OCBC Bank customer service

On the [protected] afternoon, I went to update my daughter OCBC Savers bank passbook. I noticed there was a cash withdrawal amounting of SGD$240 which done on [protected]. I immediately informed the OCBC Punggol Plaza Branch bank of this transaction . One of the bank officer jump into conclusion saying it may an cheque bounced back without checking . Then the OCBC Bank manager by the name of attend me saying: let her check through her system or OCBC Headquarters. And then informed me that there was a cash withdrawal made over the counter for that amount. I find it puzzling as my daughter account does not have an ATM card or internet banking facilities and she did not lose her student concessionary EZ card before. Then I told the Bank manager, whether can she check the bank system which cheque deposit detail of SGD$240 have been withdrawal because I cannot recall whether did we make any cash withdrawal on that day . But Bank manager say: She can't release cheque details to us, because the cheque deposit detail that was withdrawal need to make an enquiry OCBC Headquarters to release it. Unless we make an police report than the bank will release the cheque detail to us. I'm utterly disappointed with the service of OCBC Bank. What kind of bank policy is that ? Asking customer to do a police report is Bank fault here. Bank manager need to go for customer management lesson. When I reach the Punggol neighborhood police station showing to the police officer my daughter OCBC Savers bank passbook there was a cash withdrawal amounting of SGD$240 which done on [protected]. Then police officer tell me to go back to the bank again for an enquiry of bank transaction detail list, because of my daughter OCBC Savers bank passbook transaction detail printing overlap can't see clearly. Again, I went back to the OCBC Punggol Plaza Branch bank. Tell the Bank manager, the police officer need the bank transaction detail list, because of my daughter OCBC Savers bank passbook transaction detail printing overlap can't see clearly. The Bank manager say: for this enquiry to print out the bank transaction detail list, need to pay charge fee of hundred dollar plugs every month. And I tell her, this is unreasonable to pay charge fee of hundred dollar plugs to print out the bank transaction detail list for me to make an police report. Then the Bank manager say: never mind and she will wave it off the charge fee to print out the bank transaction detail list for me. So the Bank manager told me to come back for the next working day to collect it. On the [protected], I went back to the OCBC Punggol Plaza Branch bank collect the bank transaction detail list. Then the Bank manager show me the thumbprint copy of the withdrawal receipt saying is my daughter thumbprint & her student concessionary EZ card number on it, and saying maybe my daughter younger -sister using her student concessionary EZ card withdrawal cash from the bank.- And I say: will you able to confirm this thumbprint match my daughter thumbprint ? I enquiry the organization of this cheque deposit withdrawal detail, and your Bank manager can't even show it to me, so that I can trace whether did we make any cash withdrawal on that day with my daughter ? What kind of bank policy can't even produce my request for me to trace organization of this cheque deposit withdrawal detail. Another of your bank mistake is, when my first time register my daughter OCBC Savers bank passbook. I wented to register my name together with my daughter account . But your officer name: Ngo Kwang Rong Elvin told me that cannot register my name together with my daughter account on the date of [protected]. And now I check again with your bank officer on the date of [protected], she say : there is no such policy that I can't register my name together with my daughter account. If the withdrawal receipt got my signature on it together with my daughter thumbprint, this problem won't be happen if my name on it. Because my daughter are too young to recall whether did we make any cash withdrawal on that day . I'm totally regret putting my money there n being served by unprofessional people who can't even speak properly. Immoderate OCBC I’m a victim of the dirty trick that OCBC has done to me. Went to checked but can't even give me an answer. This is absurd! OCBC bank services is the worst that I had encountered! From: Kwang [protected]

OCBC Bank card dept.

I'm utterly disappointed with the service rendered to me by ocbc bank. My card closure application form was rejected and it was sent back to me without their self replied envelope for me to resubmit the form back to them again. (Which as a service provider they should have attached along, look like they are not service oriented.) hence, when I first called in on 18/04/15, sam was the cse who answered my call and he promised to send to me the self addressed envelope and I even double confirmed with him the address to be sent but I never received it til almost 2 weeks later I called in again and checked with the manager, aqif and to my astonishment I was told there was supposed to send out but somehow something went wrong. (Why nobody bother to follow up with my case?! Where was sam then?!) so irresponsible!
Thus aqif told me he would send me the envelope again and he said upon the account being closed, they would refund me via a cashier's order which I agreed at that time. After received the envelope, I instructed them to credit the fund back to my another account instead.
But a couple days later, sharon kaur another manager from the same dept. Called and told me my account had been closed and the fund was credited back to this closed account. I was so taken aback how could they just manipulated my account without my perission and what about my instruction or the commitment which aqif had promised me about the cashier's order that she never mentioned anything esle or clarified?! When I checked with aqif about this, he denied about the procedure he had told me! I demanded his superior to call me the next day at 6:15pm and however I did receive their call at 6pm sharp but unfortunately I was still at work. Very upset and feel agitated to know that after this miss call, nobody call me again even I waited the whole evening til today. What a "great" service has ocbc bank rendered to me, as their customer for so many years. Now I don't think I should maintain any more account with them with such lousy service ocbc bank provides. My case is still pending at your end or will it just sweep under the carpet and hope no follow up needed. I have zero tolerance for bad or no service at all. True enough through the procession of this incident so far they are not service oriented. Can the higher authority of ocbc bank call me after reading this? I don't wish to repeat every thing again and do check with these people whom I mentioned and I waiting impatiently for your call back that you guys have been wasting so much of my precious time.

OCBC Bank endless queues and useless staff

I have a business bank account with you ocbc every time I come to their main office to get something sorted, I always wait and waste an hour. There is only one person working there and plenty of customers who talk about moving banks... As we are all very frustrated. I am writing this complaint now as I wait to get served by the 1 agent in their headquarters

Bank is composed of mainlt uncivilised people. Requirement to be their fiancial adviser is the lowest in singapore! Take in anyone, even lesbians n gays
Bankers do not serve queue promptly when u r dressed like a poor person.
Financial products are all exxagerated in terms of past performance, how come it always state a 7 percent return for e last ten years but i get back 2 percent after a frigging 5 yrs!
Please, even its best 360 acct is a fraud n only last a short term period, totally regret putting my money there n being served by unprofessional people who cant even speak properly

OCBC Bank beware the tricks of ocbc products

I was lured for earning higher interest rates with OCBC 360 account. To get bonus interests, I have credited my monthly salary to this deposit account and tried to apply their credit card. When I applied for the 365 credit card, I was asked to apply for the EasiCredit as well because it is "complementary" and I can't turn it down. The application of EasiCredit was approved in the following day, and the card and check book was sent to me in few days. However, after that, I was informed that my application for 365 credit card was unsuccessful and they refused to give me reasons. Note that, I don't think I am not qualified for the OCBC credit card, and they even offered me to take loans from them before submitting my application. Also, I have other credit cards from other banks for years with good credit records.

I think OCBC is playing tricks to promote their other products (e.g., EasiCredit). It is hard for me to trust this bank again.

OCBC Bank immoderate ocbc

Immoderate OCBC
I’m a victim of the dirty trick that OCBC has done to me.
I have no other creditors apart from a past balance of S$18k to OCBC, and I made the payment to to the bank from April to July, with 3 x S$5k, and last payment of S$3k. I was happy that I’m 100% debt free and I went for a week of holiday from 31th July 14.
It was totally a nightmare when I was at the airport, and realized my debit cards are no longer valid. When I’m back in town on the 9th Aug, I realized both my DBS accounts which have S$40k of pocket money are closed by high court due to insolvency. I don’t remember I owe anybody a single cent, including OCBC which I assumed we have settled everything amicably since I did my part to make prompt payment. Nevertheless, it’s was just a start of nightmare as I learned that I’ve been issued as bankruptcy from 31th July 14!
I email the OCBC, however, they have no response, and the OCBC officer used to in charged for the collection case said that the file is no longer with him. Therefore, I called the Lawyer which represented the OCBC bank, she mentioned the only way I can do is to communicate with my official assignee, the OCBC bank decided to went ahead for the bankruptcy order of S$15k because I was not fully fulfilled 100% of payment. The OCBC bank also claimed that I still owe them S$5000 as the first payment for the installment was not counted.
I’m currently also looking for help from IPTO and planning to lodge this complain to MAS of what the unreasonable charge that OCBC has done to be, it’s inhumane & unnecessary. My name is tagged with bankruptcy everywhere I go, I left with S$100 in my pocket & my S$40k is frozen, my work is affected as I can’t travel overseas, all my Giro transactions & booking are being cancelled too. I think I will soon find out a lot more disasters in the next few days due to case, thanks to OCBC!
Until this moment, I still don’t receive a response from OCBC Bank; the IPTO officers who tried to assist me for a clarification is unable to reach the bank either. According to the IPTO, I’m not the only victim. Where is the justice? Why would a bank spend so much on marketing, but conducting all sort of inhumane activity behind the door? In my personal opinion, this bank is totally not reliable anymore, they have granted authority to their staffs to achieve good KPIs, without consider the consequence.
My life is seriously affected by this cold-hearted prosecution by OCBC.

OCBC Bank give me my money!!!

I have a few hundred thousand dollars in OCBC, which I saved from a few years working in Singapore. Now that I have left, I want to clear out the account, but they have been dragging their feet for TWO MONTHS. I have called and written almost daily since then, but realize that once you are no longer in Singapore, you really have no leverage. I have made a complaint to the Monetary Authority of Singapore, but it is too early to tell whether that will have an effect.

The bottom line -- DO NOT leave your money in Singapore banks when you leave the country! I have heard my story repeated by numerous expats, many of whom said that they eventually had to get a flight to Singapore to demand their savings back!

OCBC Bank annual fee reipoff

Better think twice before applying ocbc credit card. I have used my credit card for 24months installment interest free purchase. And while I left 10months of installment, ocbc decided to charge me $50 annual fee.

My request to have the annual fee waived is denied, but they will be giving me $30 ntuc or robinson cash voucher and a spa voucher. And if I were to cancel the card immediately, I will have to pay a penalty of $150 despite full payment of the installment. What a ripoff?!

OCBC Bank unethical practice

ocbc personal loan unethical practice. bait you with low interest offer (actually lie) and later persuade you to apply for their loan and once approved, then give you higher interest rate. so better chances for them to get more cases and achieve their submitted case quota. Probably was instructed by the loan manager himself. actual events...mr kent loi tick kian, tel no [protected], johor bahru ocbc personal loan officer called me. he enquired my credit card limit & promised & ensured no problem for personal loan for RM60, 000 for 3 years at attractive interest rate of 7.2% and no other additional fees i have been called by many banks before but i declined as the interest rate is usually higher. Mr kent requested to see me the following day at my clinic & i agreed. he took my documents and he gave me a letter clearly stating amount rm 60, 000. interest per year 7.2%, repayment over 3 years and monthly rm 2027. then he told me a small amount of rm 210 need to pay for insurance takaful which not mentioned earlier but anyways i agreed as the amount is small. i received a call from ocbc officer to verify me for approval on 7.11.2011. Today, 10.11.2011 an officer from personal loan called me and told me my loan is approved and the interest rate is 9.5%. the issue is 9.5%. My point is in principal, OCBC should be honest and tell the truth from the beginning. if the interest rate is not fixed or not sure, Mr kent should just say so. To me it is very clear that this OCBC officer has clear intention to trick customer to apply for personal loan by giving such promise over telephone and later in writing. after customer loan approved, they display their true cards by telling the actual higher interest rate (9.5%). the officer has nothing to lose and may achieve his quota for cases submitted & better chances for the customer to accept the loan. they wasted my time & tricked me with such unethical practice. i have informed the loan manager who agreed and will call back but never did. are there any ethical OCBC officers at all? i have attached the written promise mr kent has given me.

OCBC Bank unable to login - otp request

I got problem to login to the internet banking provided by the bank. Since they require OTP (one-time-password) to login, at first it was okay for me. I received OTP by sms but few months after I changed my phone number, I'm unable to login because I didn't update the phone number in the internet. I called their service center, and they asked me to walk in to any branches, fill up form to update phone number and submit to them. Why is it so hard to request for OTP? Even to get a token, I also need to fill up the form. I really need to login to my account at this time but unable to do that because of the dumb process made by them.

I said ### u dumb ### - OCBC son of ###! Lastly, I took out all my money from the ATM (instead of online transfer), bank in all the money to other account with Maybank, and use their more user friendly internet banking!

Gosh are you an idiot? If its so easy to change the OTP, then whats the point of having one? Didnt you know you can just update it via the ATM Machine? That is what every local banks are doing. Foreign banks are worst. They dont allow you to update using their ATM Machine. Change of OTP number is only allowed by visiting a branch. If you are not educated, dont bother using internet banking..

OCBC Bank unable to cancel transaction

I made a bill payment thru OCBC Internet Banking yesterday morning. While I was submitting the transaction, I discover my mistake - suppose to key in $54.74, I keyed in as $5, 474.00. I tried to stop the transaction but was informed that application for payment in progress and I am unable to cancel.

Immediately I called OCBC Bank Customer Hotline but was informed that nothing can be done about it! and I have to call the "Receiving Party" to refund to me once receive. When I called the "Receiving Party", I was told that they can't do anything as the money will reach them in 2 to 3 days time and they will then have to investigate the excess payment and refund to me once investigation is confirm and all this will take about 3 weeks from the day payment received!.

I receive a email shortly from OCBC Bank that payment will be process in 2 to 3 working days! If it takes 2 to 3 days to process, why can't they just cancel my transaction? Answer from then was NOTHING CAN BE DONE AFTER SUBMISSION WAS DONE!

Can anyone let me know how can I go about with my complain in the BAD Service from the Customer Service as I tried to speak to a higher authority to get help but was block by the Customer Service Officers. I told them that the longer they delay in getting the Manager to process the cancellation, the chances of stopping the transaction is slimmer. But I still have no luck in speaking to a Manager. I called 4 times but nothing can be done.

If cheques can be stopped, T/T can be stopped, why internet banking cannot? I am now at their mercy of refund my money back and I hope someone let me know if there is anyway I can get help to speed up the refund.

the best thing happened to me is, i paid singtel and starhub bills through interenet banking.
i registered my account details, for the first fewmonths, it was fine.
for the past few months, payment not soing though.
I am paying fine to singtel and starhub snce they didndt receive any payment, though i paid through ocbc...

I am planning to take this consumer council, if idnt get any proper explanaton from ocbc.

Of course you cannot terminate any request you submitted online. Its the same concept as transfering funds to a 3rd party. Once funds are transferred/payments are made, the $ belongs to the receiving party. The bank itself is only an intermediary for helping you to 'pass $' to them. Please open up your big eyes and see what you are doing. If you need the $ urgently, Call up the receiving co. and ask them to refund you asap. Btw, even the receiving party doesn't trust you, thats why they need 2-3 weeks to investigate. I think Singapore should come up with a channel for companies to complain about customers who make mistakes themselves and make a big hoo ha..

OCBC Bank Loan repayment threats

They keep bugging my guarantor who is local so he freaks out (that's just how they are). I called the bank and told them I'll pay the loan in one year but on my own terms - maybe lump 3-4 payments together and transfer them from Canada. But they are so dumb - especially their collection officers who can't even speak communicable English! OCBC is stealing from students who just graduated recently and their method of collection involves the insecurities of the local people who act as guarantors for loans. I just had ONE loan and they don't understand I don't want to pay monthly as that would mean money transfer charges every month for SUCH a SMALL amount. If you ever go to Singapore to study, make sure you always use DBS; not OCBC.

OCBC Bank services

The bank suspended my cards for no reasons given when I called the first time. The second time I called they requested me to pay full. After paying full, I called again to asked regarding about the statues of my card. One of the staffs from ocbc credit card department went to checked but can't even give me an answer. She even requested me to pay another $150 for the interest which yet to appeared on the current bill. This is absurd! Ocbc bank services is the worst that I had encountered!

People, open your eyes and read the pricing guide carefully. Late charges are imposed when you are late. Even if you are late for 1 day, you are still late. Who gives a damn about your reasons. But they do consider waivers out of good wills at times. If you did not make the minimum payment stated, you are considered not to have made any payments. Don't you read the charges before your apply anything? Sign blindly? Go ahead..

Hi, I had the same experience. I was only a few days late in paying my credit card bill of a few dollars and the bank charged me interest plus a $50 late fee on the next bill. Thinking I would call up for a waiver as most of the other banks would just do a waiver, I paid for my expenditure but not the financial charges. Unfortunately I was very busy that month and forgot to call but I didn't use the card after that. On the second month they levied financial charges on the first set of financial charges. When I called to ask for a waiver, the officer flatly refused to waive the charges saying it was the bank's policy. I asked him to cancel my card and he made it a point to re-iterate that I had to pay for the charges even if I cancelled the card. I wrote a complaint to the bank and a 2nd officer called me but also said it was the bank's policy not to waive. After much discussion, she came back saying that the bank would waive part of it. However, while we were discussing, a new round of financial charges were slapped on me bringing everything back to square one. I wrote another complaint and a 3rd officer called me again to say that it was the bank's policy not to waive the charges. OCBC bank is simply ridiculous. I've cut my credit cards and will be sending them back to the bank. Please don't deal with this bank because you will probably die from frustration trying to communicate with them!

I have the same experience with OCBC credit card service.
I was late with my S$6 interest charge payment and I ended up being charge s$50 late payment plus add S$5 interest. I pointed out it is very unfair to charge me so much for the $6 but they are unwilling to waive for me. So I made the payment few days later and though putting this issue aside. Few days later, a new bill came in and I was charge $50 fine again! I was very upset and called them to waive the fees and they never get back them.
I never meet such a moneysucker credit card company that charge a client for $100+ for $6 late payment in 2 months time, the lady who previously talked to me on phone never warn me the next billing cycle going to come nor they call me! It really drive me super nuts to cut all the relationship ties with OCBC!

OCBC Bank wrong transfer of funds

I have been charged S$ 17, 800 to my easy credit as a sopecisl facility by one of yur phone banking officers 2 weeks back abd was told that the same will be credited to my Savings Account in OCBC.. On the 4th Aug there was a debit of S$17, 800 but there was no credit to my Savings account.. I called on the evening of the 5th and was told it is sent to my POSB account.. I checked the POSB account and there was no transfer.. I called this morning and complained.. There was a call from your officer at 11-00 am and was given the account number to which it was transfered.. This was my OCBC savings account number and I was told it was transfered to DBS bank.. I told the officer that she will correct the mistake and revert to me.. Till 11-00 pm nothing happened.. I called OCBC help line again.. It is better to call it unhelp line..First I was told that OCBC is trying to retrive the money from DBS ! Is this the mistake of OCBC or the customer ? I had to raise my voice to get any sort of response from the (un)helpline officer.. She calls back after 10 mts.. I am told by the officer that there is nothing that can be done till Tuesday and that they will waive the interest for the 3 days ! I wanted to get a written confirmation on the error committed by the bank as currently the money is owed by me when it is wrongly paid to some unknown account in DBS.. I am told that this cannot be done till Tuesday ! So now I have a debit made for S$ 17, 800 and money sent to some wrong bank and OCBC cannot even send me a mail acknowledging the mistake ! So till Tuesday I have the risk of owing money "taken" from my account legally.. If this is not accounting to stealing public money by a bank like OCBC what else is.. Worst odf all is the total irresponsibility and unaccountability of the officers handling public money..
With the fiasco recently at DBS and this now how safe are Singapore banks ?
Since I have the risk exposure till the money is retrieved I am copying the press and also the Ministry of trade and industry for my protection...

OCBC Bank ocbc bank's gift vouchers cheating

I'm Latheesh Thankappan, Singapore PR. On October 2009, one customer care officer from OCBC bank called me and offer EasiCredit pre-approved loan facility. As I was not looking for a loan at that time, I rejected their offer. But she insisted me to take that loan as there is no annual fee for the first year and there after I can cancell this loan account. On top of that, she offer me $20 NTUC voucher. So I agreed to process the loan and I received the Cheque book and ATM cards for the loan account. But I did not receive the voucher yet.

When I contacted the bank, they claim that the voucher is for the first 300 customers only. But during the conversation of the customer service officer to take the loan did not mention me any thing like 300 customers.
Now I wanted to cancell this loan account. they are asking to go the OCBC branch and submit the application for closure. I feel cheated totally.

Another thing happened with this OCBC bank is they sent pre-approved credit card conversion from normal card to OCBC titanium card with offer of $50 Robinson voucher if i spend above $100 on that card within Jan 2010. (This offer is for the first 300 customers). I spent the amount on OCBC titanium card and was waiting till now. When I contacted the bank, the told me that they have not counted the number of customers who spent the amount on the card. (till end of Feb 2010?)

This is totally cheating and I wanted to close all the deals with OCBC bank.

Madness! Mortgage loan at 4.6076% and yet the big pledging amount interest is only giving us 0.01%! Once out, will NEVER go back to this bank!

Loan has been made with this bank in 2017,in latter part,its was solve and payment was made,since 2022 staff has agreed when i call up to make enquiry on this issue and they mentioned it will be remove since payment already made,till date,record still reflects on credit report

@ branch Jem, for cash with will takes time above minimum 2 hours.

Here have 17 counters but always maximum 3 only operate and every time around 30 to 50 people are waiting.

There’s not a proper management planning.

It takes the bank weeks to get anything done, does not provide solutions and very poor service. Digital banking is a myth at the bank.

Latheesh, I am sorry for what happened and I am sure u r not alone when comes to bad exp w OCBC. Being a Singaporean myself, I felt ashamed a Singapore listed bank behave in such low manner and many negative inputs here reassured my belief is a NO GO for OCBC

My credit card [protected] has been suspended even though I deposit advance funds into my credit card. I would like to cancel my card after more than 20 years using OCBC as I find this ridiculous.

Please return my funds from the credit card account.

I had called twice to request for an officer from the Collection department to return my call.

The call centre personnel took down my messages and promised to get the officer-in-charge to call me back by end of the day. I did not receive any calls at all.

I was totally disappointed by this kind of service.

You are right! I even have such weird experiences with OCBC. I advice my friends not to approac OCBC to take any loans...huh
