customer service - puppy training classes
I cannot tell you how bad the the service is at Petco in St. Peter's Missouri. I go in this store at least once a week. Every time I would go in there this young girl approaches me and gives me her opinion on what I am buying and tried to talk me into the puppy classes. Her name is Rachael. I would always be polite and tell her I would think about it. I take my puppy up there for the vet clinic for shots also. I am up there with my puppy for shots and an employee by the name of Shaun talks to me about the puppy classes and talks me into signing my puppy up for these classes. I was a little excited about it. I do tell the guy Shaun that my son that lives in Kansas is a k9 trainer and trains all the dogs in the Midwest and he tells me that is different. I pay for the classes and meet the trainer who ends up being this young girl Rachael. As my puppy Toby approaches her she takes her hand and pushes him in his face and tells him to back up. I really was offended that she would do that and I call my son and he tells me to find an experienced trainer. I call the store to talk with the manager to find out it is the guy Shaun. He tells me they have another trainer that has been a trainer for 20 years, he would put Toby in his class. Once again I am excited. The day of class the trainer calls and cancels as he has to quit the job. He tells me Rachael will be Toby's trainer. I then go to petco to get a refund as I was not letting Rachael near my dog. Once again Shaun talks me into another trainer by the name of Chris maybe Kris it is another young lady. Once again I am excited. I paid for these classes on February 11th. I take Toby there at 6 the time I am suppose to be there to find out the class is rescheduled and will be at 7 so no problem I will come back. I go back once again excited. I was walked around with Toby and the girl Chris for Toby to do a sniff test around the store. Did not understand that. Then she hands me the leash and tells me to walk him around. I finally go up where they train the dogs and she tells me to bring him in. There was 3 dogs in there - 2 of them were little dauschounds. She tells the owners to take them off their leashes and at that they attack my dog. She yanks Toby out and starts to tell me that it's not going to work I tell her I am taking him home. I go to talk to Shaun the manager and he tells me he needs to get her side of the story. At the same time she is hanging over the wall trying to tell him what is going on. I am beside myself. I think the aggressive dogs should have been removed. I will never step foot in another petco. I believe they need real trainers and customer friendly employees. I call the store manager to tell him I want a refund. He tells me my daughter called yelling at him and now I am yelling at him in which I was not. I am a business owner and the calmest person you would meet. I call my daughter back and tell her and she says I would never call and start yelling at him. She spends 80 dollars a week there for all her animals what she told him was that was unfair and she would never come in there again she is going to petsmart for now on. I was crying so hard when I left that store. I really trusted in the store manager but at the end of this story he was not so nice either. Done with Petco.

filthy store
i have shopped at a Petco store near me on Baltimore Pike in Clifton Heights, Pa. 19018 for many years. I have been noticing the store deteriorate recently, and now it is inexcusable. I was there this week, and needed to use the ladies restroom. The room is just horribly dirty, the small trash receptacle beside the toilet for feminine products was the only trash disposal in the room. The large toilet paper roll was laying in the middle of the floor. The trash receptacle, when I opened it, was covered with small black bugs who then scattered all over the room, it was overflowing with trash too. The bugs were all over the floor, walls, sink, etc. The toilet had blood on the seat, no paper towels, dirty baby changing table. I reported it to a man who said he was "one of the managers". This is such a blatant health risk, and bugs are probably all through the store. I have bought loose snacks too that were full of bugs too. Please either clean, exterminate or condemn this store. Thank you, I hope someone listens.

grooming
I took my dog into a grooming appointment today. I got a call saying the groomer had to wait to finish her rough cut until another employee came into work. She claimed my dog was squirming around and she was afraid to cut her. I said that was fine and waited for her to finish. Once I picked her up I noticed her biting different places and rolling around unlike usual. Upon further inspection I found sever knicks and razor burns all over her body. I understand she might have been squirming but I paid over $70 to put my baby in pain. I'm infuriated.

rude worker and needs to maintain animals - fish
First of all the workers should be maintaining the fish... Poor fish died and it's just laying in the tank... The worker guy is a lazy and was rude... Talk to the worker guy that was there sunday jan 28, 2018 upstairs by the fish... Hire people that do their jobs and aren't rude to customers and maintain the animals - fish... It's ridiculous i'm never going to that petco again! When I worked in retail I always made customers feel welcomed... You shouldn't hire rude lazy people... Hire people that care and maintain the pets!

I have shopped at The Paris, Texas Petco for many years. I spend and average of $200 per month at the store. A couple of months ago I got Indianmeal moths in my pantry and house. As you know it is very difficult to determine what grain product is infested. I spend an hour a week cleaning pantry to control infestation. Yesterday I visited the Petco store to purchase dog food. I am in the dog food section and I begin to see the moths flying around right there in the store. Now I have determined the source, Dogfood bought at Petco. I watched an employee stock dogfood on the shelf with them flying around. I left the store without purchasing one single item. My pets deserve better and I am tired of through grains such as cereal, rice and other items away. I am quite sure I have thrown away in excessive of $200 in food. No thank you Petco until you control infestation I will shop somewhere else.

crickets and dog collar
Very disappointed! The past 3 times I have gone to petco over HALF of the crickets where dead. Looked through all of them. had to pay $7 for 12 crickets when I should of got 36! Also got a collar for my (50 pound pit!) The collar said 30-100 pounds and it doesn't fit! Petco has definitely lost me as a customer! Ill be sure to let others know not to go there!

The manager and employee were very rude and hateful. My husband and I came In to buy a couple Oscars and were tried to explain that we have a couple different tanks up ready to go we have just moved and wanted to all to our family they insisted that they had to have a 55 gallon tank even though the fish still have some growing to do so we decided to put them in our 55 gallon then the employee and manager desided to not sale us the fish and then said they would sell us the fish but not a warranty. I found it very unprofessional and rude the way they spoke to us and handled the situation all the way around.

My husband and I visited a Petco store on January 7, 2017 to buy puppy food for the new addition to the household. While checking out the clerk had offered to do an in store purchase and have it delivered to our home. I agreed and made the purchase. After I put in all information for delivery the clerk was unable to get the FREE shipping code to work and offered a gift certificate for $5.00 to cover the shipping we had to pay for. We paid for the order and the clerk said it would be delivered in 2-5 days. It is now January 12th and I placed a call to Petco customer service to inquire about the order and they told me there was no order placed in the amount of $45.61. I then had to call our bank to make a dispute since the said amount was withdrawn from our bank account. The store address is 4908 Kingston Pike, TN. [protected]. Store number #1566.
Shipping Service
I ordered a large bag of IAMS dog food (12.28.2017) about a week and a half before I was going to run out. The confirmation email on 12.29.2017 told me that it would be expected to arrive in 3-5 business days (which would have been perfect). I waited about 4 days then tracked the package, which now had an updated delivery date of 1.8.2018- at this point I was very unhappy about how long it was going to take to receive my order. Not only did it arrive almost 2 weeks later, but I actually had to go out and buy ANOTHER bag of dog food while waiting for the late arrival of the first purchased bag. Plus it didn't even arrive on 1.8.2018 the late bag of food eventually arrived on 1.9.2018.
The shipping service was way too long (even after a new delay and then arriving later than the expected delay). It created an inconvenience that I specifically went out of my way to avoid by ordering ahead-of-time online.
I won't be ordering online again, solely because I want to be in control of the arrival time of the dog supplies I need.

I have been going to this Petco in Strongsville Ohio for years...I have spent countless hours and thousands of dollars there. I have became friends with the employees and have developed wonderful relationships with them. I run dog pages with thousands of followers and have promoted Petco through live videos and posts. Recently I started a Foundation in memory of my Boston terrier I lost suddenly. Paw it Forward 4D Foundation. I am a part of the Petco Foundation and am very thankful for that. I have many dogs and I used the grooming department a lot, Having nails painted ect... I did this nearly weekly for months. I was extremely impressed by a wonderful groomer. Last month She lost her job, Why...I don't know all details and do not need to know, but I felt awful she lost it right before the Holidays. I took it upon myself to purchase a grooming table and invited her to my home to earn some extra money as it was the holidays... It wasn't going to be on going, I wanted to help her with money because thats the person I am. Well apparently the stores manager was not happy with my decision and started bad mouthing me to employees, this all came back to me and I was so offended I was talked about like this after all I have done for the store and its employees ( gifts ect..). I was a loyal customer and client I.e. dog training. The treatment this manager has given me and the things she has said about me are awful. I am sad, hurt and angered. I feel my Foundation will hurt from this and that angers me. This store is close to my home and I can honestly say I will never go there again as long as this manager is there. Team leaders should never behave this way. The drama created by this manager is unprofessional and a disgrace to Petco as a whole. I do not feel my relationships with people are any of a store managers business in the store or outside of it, I do not work for Petco. Why am I talked about by a manager to her employees in front of other customers?Now, I am extremely thankful this manager helped me with 550 lbs of dog food for shelter dogs, the countless boxes of treats, bones, chews ect...and Allowing my Foundation to benefit from Santa in the store at 10.00 a photo ( My husband was Santa) I still haven't received all the money from that and corporate should know this. But, to bring in personal opinions over my relationships with people hurt the store and is completely unprofessional on her part and insulting to me and my Foundation. In the end I am a customer and should never have been treated this way. Because of this manager relationships are ruined and business will be greatly lost at this store. What a traumatic experience for our dog Abby. The Santa at the Venice Fl store on Dec 9 was the most pet unfriendly Santa ever Did not say hi, barely looked at didn't engage whatsoever with my Dog. Gave off a lackluster lackadaisical attitude which frightened Abby and she gets along great with everyone. Should have had a Santa that actually LIKED pets. Money went to a good cause but seriously was a bad experience as evidenced by Abby's photo ears back 5 feet away from Santa and scared! What a disappointment
employee complaint
went in today to speak to the dog trainer Caitlyn about the Dog training for my pup All the registers were full and there was more than ten people in line behind me. The cashier called for her. waited almost 25 minutes until she finally came up. Although it was hard to tell she was an employee since she was t wearing any kind of uniform. heard someone ask her to finish helping with the line and she very rudely said no with an attitude in front of everyone. She wasn't that rude to me. But If I was in line still I would've been very upset.

Petco Customer Service over the phone is absolutely disgusting. I work in retail and I know how you're SUPPOSED to speak to the customer. First of all they dont even sound like they care about my problem, they sound like im bothering them. I Called about a charge to my account that I wasn't supposed to receive and they transferred me to this lady that kept cutting me off. She kept telling me everything I was saying was wrong. I can tell you this much, Petco will never be getting my money again. Fix your customer service Petco, its sad.

The manager of this store do not work closings or weekends except on a holiday weekend when ALL are required to work. The assistant manager seems she will follow suit. They take advantage of the "older" generation having them do all the closings, cover shifts and does not give them their days off they requested. I know retail most need to be available all the time but should go for ALL employees not just one. A almost 60 year old should not be the one doing 4 closings a week and should get their 2 days off together to rest and most of all should never have to do a close into an open shift. I worked retail for over 20 years and I believe it should "TRY" and stay with 2 open, 2 close and a mid shift for all that are capable making the workplace fair and workable.This manager previously worked the Dover store and it was the same there. Wish my husband had not have transferred with her to the town we live, he may have gotten a fair schedule had he stayed away from her. I hope upper management will look into this and resolve the issue, its sad to see people being taken advantage of when its not necessary.

guinea pigs ringworm
Hello my name is Steven Kelvey. I never take it as far as complaining on a corporate level about customer service.
I purchased 2 Guinea Pigs from your location in Dartmouth Massachusetts, Store # 1870, one Guinea on 11/7/17 and the other 11/8/17. I brought the Guinea Pigs home and my children were extremely happy. I noticed over the course of a week or 2 that the Guineas were scratching more and more frequently and as I researched online it says it could be from the aspen bedding and not knowing any better because the appetite and activity level of our new pets was fine I continued to carry on until my daughter was holding them like 2 weeks later noticed scabbing on them so my wife brought them to the vet where they diagnosed them with ringworm, that visit costs me 120.00 and the antifungal medication cost 85.00 for a 6 week course of medication. I called the store and the manager or supervisor on duty said that there is nothing they can do because we were 3 days outside of the 30 day warranty window and we should have called immediately the first week and it says so in the disclosure on the back of the paperwork.
I read the disclosure for small pets and it does not say anywhere to call for the pets itching intermittently, it says that is they show signs of illness and obvious sickness. no new pet owner would think that a little bit of scratching from a guinea pig is a sickness especially when the activity level and appetite is up to par. I have been shopping at Petco for a long time for numerous pets and right now I am upset enough to complain. I feel like I should be reimbursed for my costs of 205.00 for veterinary bills and I do have all documentation supporting the Vet Bills. reptile lights
I have two bearded dragons and I have to buy lights for their cages. In the boxes, the lights haven't been right, they've been broken, and they short out within a week or so of me buying them. I've spent easily more than $500 on lights alone just trying to fix that and I can never get them returned even if they weren't in the right box or if they were broken. It's frustrating because they need the lights to survive and I don't want to always spend an arm and a leg when I should be buying lights like every 3-4 months or so.
price matching
The Eureka, California Petco store on 12-16-2017 ignored the corporate price matching policy posted at Petco.com, which includes a handful of web retailers that qualify for price matching. The checkout clerk refused to pricematch an item with Amazon.com (the item was shipped and sold by Amazon). He said he's only allowed to price match against items on Petco.com. He wasn't interested in looking at the price matching policy, as if he'd heard this all before from customers.
I asked to speak to the manager and that person repeated the same story. She wasn't interested in looking at the price match policy I was holding on the cell phone in my hand. She said she is only allowed to pricematch Petco.com and that if I didn't like it I "should take it up with corporate."
The item, an automatic pet drinking fountain, was $79.99 in the store. Amazon was selling it for $45. The funny thing was, Petco.com was also selling it for $45.
I don't know what's worse... refusing to honor Petco's own customer policy, or that Petco's own website was selling an item for almost half the cost of the identical item in the physical store.
I've shopped at Petco for several years, and always bought from the store when items were a few dollars more than Amazon. Petco has lost me as a customer. It was a shocking experience.
grooming coupon/ pot smoking employees in uniform
I received a coupon in the mail for a 10 grooming voucher. Thats all it says. Even the employees agree that the coupon is badly worded and it is read as 10$ for the grooming . When i went to pay for the grooming I was only given 10$ off, the store manager was rude when I wanted him to come and adjust the price and he tried to tell me "Definition" of the word voucher. He agreed it was badly worded but he said " it dont care its not how its fraized its what it means". I was very angry and just paid to get my dog back, then when we were leaving one of the the employees was sitting in her car smoking POT.
goldfish
Today I was at your Chesterfield Mo. location. I brought my kids in for goldfish. We have bought many fish at your store there over the years. Today I was told if I wanted to buy gold fish I would have to let the water cycle for a week before I could buy my fish. Is this a new PETCO policy? My kids as you can imagine were upset and I was very annoyed. I was being questioned by this employee about what I was doing. I said I have another tank set up at home that I could put the fish in in the meantime. She asked what kind of fish were in that tank. Honestly I don't know. I mean some people buy these goldfish and feed them to other animals and she is questioning me and won't let me buy goldfish? So we left empty handed and went directly to Petsmart where they were happy to sell us goldfish, snails and some plants and accessories for my daughter. I also bought my $57 of Brightmind Dogfood from there as well. Sorry Petco. I am a grown woman and did not appreciate any part of my experience in your store. Seriously I was NOT ALLOWED to buy goldfish?
santa picture
For the past 2 years I have been taking my dog Sadie to have her picture taken with Santa at the West Chester Commons location in Midlothian VA. The first year I fell in love with the picture... last year not as much and this year is awful. I understand that the money that I pay to have the picture done goes to a good cause but I do expect to get a good service for my money. At least have a santa that looks real.
