I bought a used car, paid the money, and then signed paperwork
I bought a used car, paid the money, and then signed paperwork. Then, I got told that the car has problems with it. All I wanted was a refund, and I would have walked away happy.
These guys are totally clueless at their job
These guys are totally clueless at their job. I wasn't told that I needed specific info to get a key made, or that the car had to be in my name. I called twice and they didn't mention any of this. They gave me a price, so I thought that was it, but when I got here to *** I found out there's another fee. Talk about sneaky charges. Customer service is really bad. The only person who tried to help was ***.
My name is Nielsy and if I could, I would give this dealer a minus 5 because I made it clear from the beginning that I wanted to use my own
My name is Nielsy and if I could, I would give this dealer a minus 5 because I made it clear from the beginning that I wanted to use my own financial institution, but they tried to run my credit. They also didn't follow the window sticker and changed the price, adding a bunch of strange charges. After I disagreed with them, I left and they laughed at me like they were mocking me. I just kept walking and realized that I needed to deal with more professional people. If you are in the MILITARY, stay away from them!
We bought a car from Phil Long Kia in October 13th
We bought a car from Phil Long Kia in October 13th. After five months, the car broke down on the road. We had AAA tow it to the dealership service department. They found out that the fuse box engine harness had a short circuit, and the replacement and services cost over $5000. The dealership refused to negotiate the price or find a solution. It's really sad to see a car break down just five months after buying it, especially when the repairs cost almost half of the car's price.
Last week, we brought our *** to Phil Long Kia for several services
Last week, we brought our *** to Phil Long Kia for several services. We specifically asked Dario to check the brakes because they were making a grinding noise. However, Dario never looked at the brakes and told us they seemed fine. We even gave him a coupon for a brake check, but he still didn't inspect them. Dario always seems in a rush, as if he's trying to hurry us along. We spent around $2,000 on the service, but our brakes were still not fixed. I would advise anyone getting their car fixed at Kia Motor City to avoid dealing with Dario. Thank you.
This dealership does FRAUD
This dealership does FRAUD. They give FALSE info to get more money when you buy. I got a car on the weekend. When they found out my city tax was $0, instead of lowering the price, they added a $575 tire warranty and said it triggered a "tax credit". That's a lie, and fraud. They just wanted more money when they saw I had no city tax, so they added the $575 hoping I wouldn't notice. My lawyer checked the papers and found the mistake. Alan D was my sales guy, but Peter B, the boss, oversaw everything. I had to wait 30 minutes for each question (5 hours total), got hit on by a salesperson, and lied to by the staff... can't believe this place is still open. It was a creepy experience, the worst of slimy car salesmen. Obviously, I don't recommend.
I recently bought a car from Phil Long Kia and it was a terrible experience
I recently bought a car from Phil Long Kia and it was a terrible experience. Our first salesman messed up our order, so after waiting for 4 months, the car came in the wrong color. On top of that, when I called to get updates, he never called me back and when I finally reached out, he said, "sorry that your so impatient." I was really upset after waiting for so long, but the manager, Pete, didn't offer any understanding or kindness. He just told me there was nothing they could do.
Then I got a new salesman named Adam, but he was just as bad. I asked him to call me once or twice a month to update me on my new order, since it would be another 4-month wait. But he never called, and I always had to call in myself. And he was always rude, with no customer service skills at all. The only person who was kind and kept me informed was a man named Jerimiah, and I really appreciate that.
I had to call back with questions about my plates, and once again, Adam was rude. This dealership is the worst. I will definitely be warning all of our military friends to stay away from this place.
Absolutely terrible experience
Absolutely terrible experience. I worked with a super nice car salesman, ***, who worked with me to get the price point I was looking for in July. Offered me a car for almost $1000/month. I said absolutely not! He helped me order a Kia *** at MSRP that would fit my price point with the trade-in of my current vehicle. They said it would be 3-4 months for my new car to come in, talked me into refinancing with them to make it all work. I left happy that day. Messaged with my car salesman a few times over the next two months, and he says they are pressuring him to sell my car to someone else. I told him I hope that isn't how *** does business because I ordered that car, and that would be sketchy and dishonest. Get a call yesterday - 2 months later from a different person - saying my car is in. Awesome! I go to the dealership this morning, and what do you know? It's an upgraded model that somehow got put into the system wrong or switched by the manufacturer, no one knows. But was told if I didn't want it, they'd sell it for 20K over MSRP, and someone would definitely buy it. I don't have the same salesman, and my credit has somehow gone down 100 points since they pulled it in July. Can't get me the price I was estimated originally - it's significantly higher. But nothing they can do. This was the most dishonest, sketchy experience ever had buying/leasing a car. I feel like this was a set up so they could go and sell that car to the next person for $800-$1000/month. Talk about gaslighting - I was made to feel like this was all my fault - your credit score changed, trade-in value wasn't the same, percentage rate went up, can't finance you for that many months because of your credit bracket, you can try to find better financing. Ridiculous. I walked out without a car today - terrible business practice.
Is it just me or are they just incompetent?
Is it just me or are they just incompetent? The new finance guy, *** Day, doesn't return phone calls. I first called *** on November 11th about my extended warranty, but he never followed up or returned my calls. Then, I called again on November 18th, but *** never called me back. So, on November 22nd, I decided to go to the dealership in person to speak with ***. However, he refused to come out of his office, even though there were no other customers there. Thankfully, someone else came over and addressed my concerns. I've been waiting for *** to call me for over 3 weeks now. So, on December 9th, since I never received a call from ***, I had to go back there again. Someone else helped me once more, and I threatened to call his manager. Finally, *** decided to call me and explained that he's waiting for the extended warranty company to call him back. On December 28th, I called the warranty company myself and asked why they haven't called *** back. They said that *** never even reached out to them. The warranty company told me to go back to the dealership and tell *** that he needs to contact them because I can't set up the warranty directly with them. So, for the third time on the same day, December 28th, I went back to *** to speak with ***. Once again, he wouldn't come out of his office to talk to me personally. Luckily, the head manager was there and helped me with my warranty issue. He apologized on behalf of ***, but I told him I don't expect an apology from *** because he's the one who should apologize. ***, the finance guy, is very dismissive, dishonest, and unprofessional. I've been dealing with *** for over 5 years, and I've never been treated this way before *** showed up.
If you're lookin to buy a new car, don't consider buyin one from Phil Long Kia in Motor City
If you're lookin to buy a new car, don't consider buyin one from Phil Long Kia in Motor City. I bought my 2015 Prius from their EV outlet on December 1st. They sent me home with the car that night and took my trade. I was told what my payment and interest rate would be and that I would get the paperwork in the mail. I thought it was weird but I went along with it.
Flash forward to December 14th. I get a call from the finance company for the car that my payment was past due. They told me that the dealer hadn't even contacted them to get a pay off quote. At this point I've been drivin around this Prius for two weeks!
I stop in and I'm given the run around over and over again. I go home and get a text from the finance manager that I need to come in and sign paperwork. I told him I'd be there at 5:30 after work. I get there at 5:30 and wait over an hour to be seen, then he has me sign the paperwork that you would normally sign when you buy a car. But it's all dated for December 1st. Suddenly the interest rate went up 3 percent and the payment went up almost $50 a month. He assures me that the car will be paid off as soon as the deal is funded. Meanwhile they have the car on their lot for sale.
Finally on December 17th, I get a call from the finance company that financed the Prius. They set everything up and got the ball rolling. I let the car finance company know what was goin on and they said I could have a 10 day grace period. The dealer said that was plenty of time.
Today, December 28th, I get a phone call from the car finance company. It's still not paid. I called the dealership 3 times, they weren't able to help me at all on the phone. I load my sick self and a kid in the car and go down there. I found out from the finance company on the Prius that the deal was funded on December 17th and they payment was received on the 21st. A full week ago. The dealer makes me wait for over 30 minutes and all I get is excuses. Finally, the manager comes down to calm me down and tells me that he's gonna talk to someone, since she handles pay offs. They said the check will be mailed in the morning and will be there Thursday. I asked for proof and he said I needed to take his word for it.
So now, I'm gettin text, phone calls and letters in the mail about a car payment of a car that is sittin on their lot for sale! And I have to make my first payment on the Prius on January 15th. Essentially, right now I'm liable for both cars but the car is in their possession. Hopefully the payment makes it there on Thursday, otherwise I'm gonna have to make a payment on the car to save my credit, along with a payment on my Prius. I've financed a ton of cars and even worked in a dealership myself and I have never witnessed this before. I would expect this from a small mom and pop shop but not a large dealer such as Phil Long Kia. I'm not one to throw shade or write nasty reviews but I'm at whits end. I love the Prius but the experience has been awful.
Don't even get me started on how disgusting the Prius was when I brought it home.

I bought a car from Phil Long Kia and it was quite a hassle to get my paperwork
I bought a car from Phil Long Kia and it was quite a hassle to get my paperwork. Whenever I call or text them, they always say they don't know where the paperwork is. It makes me wonder if I actually bought a car from them or not.
Their finance manager took advantage of us
Their finance manager took advantage of us. He told us the dealership would pay for a bunch of warranties we weren't interested in since they couldn't offer us a better price and wanted to help a good Christian family like ours. The warranties were not paid for by the dealership and instead added $4k to our loan amount! We were also charged a financing fee when we didn't finance through them and our $2k down payment was stolen!

I bought a car from Phil Long Kia and saw on their website that they advertised a $250 discount for pre-owned vehicles
I bought a car from Phil Long Kia and saw on their website that they advertised a $250 discount for pre-owned vehicles. I asked both the salesperson, Anthoney, and the finance person, David, about this discount, but unfortunately, I didn't get the $250 off the price of the car I bought. Additionally, instead of getting financing from ENT Federal Credit Union as I requested, I had to go with an unknown bank because David Perez said it was a good bank.

I got a KIA K5 2021 from Phil Long KIA Motor City Drive, Colorado Springs CO
I got a KIA K5 2021 from Phil Long KIA Motor City Drive, Colorado Springs CO. We decided to buy the car instead of leasing it, so I asked my bank for help. They said yes, so we did the paperwork with them, paid the sales tax, and sent the check to Phil Long KIA. But then we found out that we had to finish the paperwork at the dealership, so we did. Now they won't accept either set of paperwork. So now I have to make 2 payments, one for the original lease and one for the buyout. Phil Long KIA won't help us by covering just one payment. They caused a lot of hardship by not accepting the paperwork they made at the dealership.
I bought a car from Phil Long Kia on March 3, 2022
I bought a car from Phil Long Kia on March 3, 2022. Even though I signed the papers, I don't remember receiving a full explanation about the extra warranties. It was only when my dad went to the Department of Motor Vehicles and found out that we had to pay extra money for taxes on the additional warranties. There were extended warranties, a maintenance plan, Secure Plus, and Secure Road, which added up to around $4100. I think the Secure stuff included windshield etching, but I don't recall being informed about it. The new car already comes with a lot of these features. It has been really difficult to reach someone at the dealership. Finally, I was told that I can't get a refund for Secure Road and Secure Plus. If anything happens, the car's warranty and my insurance should cover it. I believe I can get a prorated refund for the other warranties. I'm just disappointed that they sold me these extra things when the car already has great features. I don't think they explained it well enough, and I feel like I was taken advantage of.
When me and my wife talked to Mr
When me and my wife talked to Mr. Arzate, we asked if they finance with ENT Credit Union. Mr. Arzate said yes, so we were happy and bought the car. But then Mr. Arzate asked about paying for repairs and we agreed that we're too old for that. We said yes, but nobody told us how much the warranty cost. It was around $6200 added to the car price. When we found out, we had it changed the next day by Emanuel D. Perez. I asked Mr. Perez about who was financing the car and if it was ENT Credit Union. He said it's a good bank, but I wanted ENT Credit Union. He went ahead and financed it through Fifth Third Bank in OHIO. I want this fixed and the car to be financed in Colorado at Ent Federal Credit Union. I feel bad that Mr. Perez lost his warranty money, but I want the car financed in Colorado, NOT OHIO.
I bought a car from Phil Long Kia in January , and since then, we've had a bunch of mechanical problems
I bought a car from Phil Long Kia in January , and since then, we've had a bunch of mechanical problems. In April 2022, we told the service department about an oil leak, and they checked it out and said a valve needed to be replaced. They said it wasn't covered by my warranty, so I had to pay for it myself. They also told me to come back after driving 1,000 miles for a consumption test. We did that twice, and both times they said everything was fine and we weren't losing oil. But on November 26th, my check engine light came on. I called them to let them know and asked about the repair process. I was confused because they had said I wasn't losing oil, but now when I check my oil level, it's low. The person on the phone said they would bring it up with their boss to make fixing this a priority. I waited 10 days and didn't hear anything, so I called again. I talked to someone else on the staff, and they picked up my car the next day to take a look at it. Later that day, they told me that the tests weren't done right and the work wasn't up to their standards. I had a long conversation with their boss, but they didn't seem sorry or willing to take responsibility for the problem. They didn't seem to care why we're dealing with this problem.
In January 2022, I was told that my sunroof needs a new motor because it has trouble closing
In January 2022, I was told that my sunroof needs a new motor because it has trouble closing. I waited outside, and it was cold. We agreed to wait for a warmer day. I scheduled an appointment for July 28th to get an oil change, tire rotation, check a slow leaking tire, and possibly patch it. I also wanted a quote for replacing the splash guard, changing the sunroof motor, and checking the seat adjustment switch. They changed the oil and rotated the tires, but couldn't find the leak. They overinflated my Sorento's tires to 42 lbs and claimed they didn't know about the sunroof issue, even though I mentioned it when I made the appointment and again on the day of the appointment. They replaced the splash guard without asking for my permission and insisted that I was wrong about the switch. I was surprised that they replaced the splash guard without giving me a quote first. I told them that the requested work wasn't done, and they said they would need my car for a whole day to find the leak. They ignored the sunroof issue and said they would call me the next day to schedule an appointment. After two weeks, my husband called and made an appointment. I showed him the text I received asking for a perfect rating on their survey. My appointment was at 9, and when I mentioned the sunroof, I was snapped at. Apparently, they need to order the part. I always make sure to mention this when I schedule appointments! In the afternoon, my husband called for an update. The service manager, ***, lied and said he had spoken to me earlier that day. I hadn't spoken to him. The tire has two nails in it. *** called me at the end of the day and said my sunroof issue must be a cold weather problem and doesn't need to be replaced. He said yesterday was a cold day just like in January. On that day, I was bundled up and still very cold. Yesterday, on August 16, 2022, our temperatures were in the 70s. He then said the sunroof clearly works in the cold. It didn't make any sense! It doesn't work well in any temperature! My sunroof struggles to close to the point where I don't open it because I'm afraid it won't close. Why isn't the recommendation to change it listed on my account? The warranty runs out in a few miles.
I bought a 2019 Optima from Phil Long Kia
I bought a 2019 Optima from Phil Long Kia. The finance guy added extra charges without telling me, like an extended warranty and a service plan. He didn't bother explaining what these services cover or how long they last. I only found out about them when I noticed the charges. I financed the car on June 25th, but it couldn't be delivered because of a damaged fender well lining. They said they would let me know when it was fixed. On July 1st, they told me the car was ready, so I went to pick it up and cancel the service plan and extended warranty. Finally, the finance guy explained the coverage when I asked for cancellation. I wanted to see the information about the extra charges in my documents, but he claimed the USB drive was broken or not working on his computer. I saw him clicking randomly on his computer, not even trying to open the thumb drive. Then he said his printer must have broken. After some arguing, he agreed to cancel the extended warranty and said the money would be credited back to my loan ($4900). It's been 6 weeks now, and I've tried contacting the dealership about the cancellation, but they say I have to talk to the finance person who hasn't returned my calls. I have a video of the cancellation conversation that I uploaded to *** and attached a link to this complaint. The video is 15 minutes long and shows the form he filled out and had me sign, me saying I haven't taken delivery of the vehicle, and that I'm canceling. The video starts after I realized he didn't put a date on the cancellation form, assuming he was trying to scam the dealership by putting in a later date so they wouldn't lose out on the warranty sale kickback. I just want this warranty plan canceled and fully refunded.
