Me and my husband got our stuff picked up Sunday 2/25 on Feb and told them we would be in new location on Friday 3/1. They weren’t around and told me that there’s a window and kept pushing the window further and further into the week. When we eventually got our stuff mid week half of our things were missing including a lost box spring.
When my husband and I got in touch with the management one tried to gaslight and said we should be grateful for their help and that it’s only a quarter of our stuff was missing. This is while our drawers were bare, our closets are halved and our work clothes are missing to work.
For a period of time, they didn’t know where it was and telling us that it was going to be there the following week and we had a month of storage that we didn’t want.
We found out the day before our stuff came (3/22) it was shipped to another persons house.
We were also promised a replacement box spring. When the drivers came, they were unwilling to get us a new one because of lack of communication. We don’t have the means to get a new one, including transportation and was shoved the minimum fee.
We were told we would get an inconvenience fee after a discounted $2700 but we feel like it isn’t enough. It comes off as incompetent, lack of direct communication, and lack of organization.
Spend more money and go somewhere else.
Stay away......
Stay away... they will double the quote..with lame excuses and I lost like 4 boxes and a new table... this was back in June-July 2023. Do not sign the "insurance" for .60 per pounds is a scam... they will tell you are insure but is a lie.. they have...a claim company that works for them...you are advice. I lost like 1,000 bucks in items and was offer only 84 bucks as compensation by their claim company. I do not expect a full payment, but 84 bucks is a joke, plus have to be notarized.
Desired outcome: I would like a fair compensation.
They will promis you delivery date and change it over and over
They will promis you delivery date and change it over and over. They dont have drivers to unload and dont get reliable people to unload. They will make excuses one after another and wont care or offer and compensation for your troubles.
I had a grate experience with Plymouth
I had a grate experience with Plymouth. I had so many people calling giving me so many different estimates. Some companies wanted large deposit over the phone up front before coming out. But I spoke to *** and she sent out there estimator ***. He came out to my home and gave me an estimate and explained the process from start to finish. They were very careful with my furniture. When my belongings arrived to my new home I was so happy everything arrived and it was all intact. They even put the furniture back together. I would recommend having *** come out for an in home estimate.
I had a lot of people reach out to me giving me different types of estimates
I had a lot of people reach out to me giving me different types of estimates. Plymouth Van Lines Inc called me and warned me of brokers and said they could send out there estimator since I have a 3 bedroom home and garage. Which makes sense so it would be more accurate. In person vs virtual. So He came out. I met with their estimator, he was on time and very nice. He really educated me on the process of the move and tips on packing. He told me I had about *** cubic ft and it would cost around 18k to move me to Florida. So I got rid of some belongings and on the day of the move it ended up being less and it end around 15k. When I got my stuff it was just as I got it. Highly recommend having there estimator come out so you dont get scammed.
Don't use this company for any move you might be doing
Don't use this company for any move you might be doing. We were told they would bring two trucks and four men to load, but they showed up with only one truck and two men! After two days of overloading one truck, they said they didn't have any more trucks. We were left with half of our things in the yard. We had to rent and load a U-Haul on our own. It took Plymouth a week and a half to deliver our things. When they unloaded, we found out that all our furniture was damaged. One of their men damaged our antique dresser even though we specifically told them not to move it that way. And then, they dropped my sewing machine, completely ruining it. When we opened our boxes, we discovered that half of them had broken items. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this moving company!
I don't recommend nobody use this company
I don't recommend nobody use this company. They come out to your house and give you a quote, then when they come to load your stuff they tell you that its $2,500 more. Then they tell you you'll receive your things in *** days. Which did not happen. I call them to see what is going on and they give you excuse after excuse. They say you'll receive your things in *** business days. They say they will call you when your stuff is on the way but they never called, I always called them. The person that would answer my call was very rude and just kept telling me that my things will be on they're way shortly. After 6 1/2 weeks of waiting I finally receive my things. One item was missing, of all things for them to lose, a 55" tv. How can you lose such a big item? Then they reimburse you only $200 for it when it was they're fault. Do yourself a favor and don't use this company.
Pikin a movin company is extremly difficult
Pikin a movin company is extremly difficult. Every1 sounds like a used car salesmen. They harass u with emails, phone calls, n text messages, then offer an insane discount if u go with their services n want to force u to commit. Plymouth Vanlines did no such thing. They were honest n forthcoming with their quote n followed up. Wen *** n Pit arrived first to my storage unit then to my home, they went right to work. They were fast, efficient, friendly n very funny. *** answered several of my questions n put my mind at ease about many concerns I had, as this is our first move cross country. They did an amazing job takin everything apart, wrappin it up securely n loadin it up on the truck. The neat thing is that they put a labeled sticker with our information on every item that was loaded. This gave me piece of mind that our items would not get lost n they used every inch of the movin truck! I highly recommend Plymouth Vanlines!
This company really surprised me how well they took care of my move from CA to **
This company really surprised me how well they took care of my move from CA to . I spoke with *** who was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the whole process. She offered a free in-home estimate and *** came to my home. He inventoried everything I was taking and gave me a reasonable estimate. I did get 1 other quote from another company and decided to choose Plymouth Van Lines. They by far exceeded my expectations, *** and 3 other men were so efficient in wrapping all of my furniture with those thick blankets and they loaded the truck so well! I wasn't ready for delivery right away so they held it for me in their storage for a couple of weeks until I closed escrow in TX. I received delivery about a week ago, the guys delivering were nice, they brought everything into the house and asked me where things were to go. I had minimal damage, a lamp shade didn't make it but its par for the course when moving. Moving is stressful and this company made it easy. Definitely recommend 5 stars!
What can I say *** and her team came thru for us last minute and Ill have to say, this company went above and beyond in a dire situation when
What can I say *** and her team came thru for us last minute and Ill have to say, this company went above and beyond in a dire situation when another company left us in the dust. The pick up team was exceptional, 10 stars. Professional, organized and knew exactly what needed to be done upon walking into our house last minute. They exceeded my expectations in packing skills and customer service. ***, the office manger, had impressive communication along the entire way, no BS and straight to the point. When our things arrived in our new home, they handled things quickly, professionally, asked where boxes needed to go and cleaned up all the moving blankets, assembled everything they took apart. We had one item missing and the team was swift to replace it. Overall, this company went above and beyond to make sure our move out of state was as stress free as it could be. If I could give 10 stars, I would. Anyone moving from Southern ***, either local or long distance choose Plymouth Van lines and ask for ***, her team of professionals will take care of you. Thank you, ***, ***, *** and *** for coming to our rescue on such short notice. It was sooo appreciated.

After we got tricked by *** who took $8,850 from us, Plymouth Van Lines came with 4 not-so-experienced movers to take
After we got tricked by *** who took $8,850 from us, Plymouth Van Lines came with 4 not-so-experienced movers to take about half the stuff that New Horizon promised. Instead of unloading everything at our new place like we agreed, only 2 movers arrived with a ryder truck and a trailer. They threatened to drive off with our things unless we coughed up another $1600 in postal money orders, which we reluctantly did. The 2 movers messed up most of our furniture, our piano, and our TV. They dragged the furniture across the yard and didn't bother fixing anything, just left it all in the garage. They even dragged the piano on its side across the concrete. We have videos and photos to prove it. The damage is worth at least $6000. We tried reaching out to Plymouth to complain, but they haven't bothered getting back to us.
On 9/24/22, they came to pick up my stuff for the move
On 9/24/22, they came to pick up my stuff for the move. But when they were almost done loading, they said they didn't have enough space for the rest of my items. They told me to choose what I needed for one or two more items. I tried calling the company, but they didn't call me back for a few days. Finally, the truck left with my stuff. Over the next two weeks, I got a few calls saying they would deliver on three different occasions, but each time they didn't show up or call. I still had no solution for my left-behind items, and no one would call me back, including the owner named ***. I left him several messages and calls, but he never responded. I even threatened to report stolen goods, and within an hour he finally called. He was rude and argued with me, saying he should have been informed about the truck issue. He offered to go back and pick up the stuff, but it was already too late as I had already moved across the country two weeks ago. In short, after two weeks, they finally delivered my stuff, but some items were broken and a women's cruiser was missing. They were also confused about putting the furniture back together, even though it was in my contract. They told me to call Plymouth to file a claim, but I've been calling and they haven't returned my calls. I also called the owner's number ***, who claimed to be the operations manager, but he told me I had the wrong number. They don't answer the phone, and the number on the paperwork doesn't work either. There's no information on how to file a claim or visit a website. My personal items are missing, a table is broken, and I can't get any answers or solutions.

On May 12, 2022, Plymouth Van Lines Inc
On May 12, 2022, Plymouth Van Lines Inc. came out to give us an estimate of the cost. Our estimate was for a specific amount. We put some cash down to hold our date. On moving day, they told us to pay half of the estimate after they loaded the truck. They said we had exceeded the cubic feet and owed more money. However, we had actually sold some items and reduced our belongings before the move. We paid the additional amount on a credit card. On 6/13, they called and said they could deliver our items in a couple of days. They informed me that I had to pay the remaining money on the day of delivery before they unloaded the truck. I told them I already had a cashier's check, and they said I needed to take a picture of it and send it to them as soon as possible before the delivery. So I did. They immediately cashed the check, which was for a specific amount. When the delivery came the next day, 6/14/2022, I simply gave the driver the check. He had to wait until his crew showed up to unload. After everything was unloaded, he informed us that we were missing several boxes of items. If I had known beforehand, I would not have paid the full amount. It has been a month since the delivery, and we have called them multiple times. Every week, they would tell us they were waiting on a truck. Two weeks ago, they said our items were loaded on a truck and on the way, and the driver would contact us. However, they still haven't arrived. We have called several times since then, and they say they cannot get in touch with the driver. We are missing two computers, two office chairs, a large hand-truck, a printer, a shredder, several boxes of items, and my husband's personal art collection, among other things. Additionally, several items that were packed by them were damaged, including a broken Apple computer monitor, sewing table, dresser, and more. We are always told that someone will call us, but they never do.
We got our estimate over the phone and when they showed up to pack our house in ** the estimate more than doubled AND they couldn't fit
We got our estimate over the phone and when they showed up to pack our house in *** the estimate more than doubled AND they couldn't fit everything on the truck so we had to rent a POD for the remaining items. They also showed up 6 hours late. We were never informed of any preference of payment type and were just told to pay 1/2 at the time of packing the house in . The paperwork clearly said cash or money order. At 9pm on a Sunday night I had access to neither. I asked if I could write a check and was told that the move wouldn't proceed until the check cleared which would be 3-5 business days. Our original delivery date was 3 days after they packed the house. On that day I got several phone calls from another guy at the company to discuss the final payment. He said that we could use Zelle. I entered the email that he told me over the phone and apparently he didn't give me the correct address...it was off by one letter. They used this against me and basically accused me of being the reason things were delayed. We ended up taking out thousands in cash for them. We both called to speak with managers as we were both very unhappy at this point and were already in the new house in ***. When I spoke with one he asked if this had been a phone or FaceTime estimate. I told him it was over the phone and his response was "Well yeah this happens all the time where the estimate is actually less than the amount of items are in the house." I expressed my suggestion for requiring a video estimate so that this issue can be prevented in the future. He didn't really seem to care about that. At this point we were told that our stuff would arrive on Tuesday at 12pm...almost a week after the original date of delivery. Throughout Tuesday I got calls saying that they would be here 4-6pm, 8pm and then 10pm. They just don't seem to care about their customers at all. We are basically at their mercy.
Plymouth is a sub-contractor to a Broker we used
Plymouth is a sub-contractor to a Broker we used. The broker estimated about 700 cu ft of items. We physically measured the boxes and furniture and felt comfortable to the estimate. When they came, there were 4 workers who were all very nice and professional. The only "yellow flag" was that I was told the volume between the vertical beams (inside the 26' RYDER truck) were 300 cu ft of volume. Of course, I took their word for it, but was somewhat skeptical. I took "Before and After" pictures of the inside of the truck with and without our items in the truck. I also took a measurement of the distance between the vertical beams - it turned out to be 16". When all our items were loaded, they charged me for *** cu ft...a 50% overage of the estimate. We noted from the pictures our items used "6-7 Beams" of space. Using the Ryder 26' Truck spec, the volume is 16" x 8.5'x8.5' = about 100 cu ft! So our estimate of 700 cu ft was about right. Yet they charged me *** cu ft. Here's further proof: Upon ARRIVING in ***, the local driver (different than the people who picked up our items in ***) said that he does not drive Semi 18 Wheelers into downtown ***, so he needs to use a "shuttle" (a smaller delivery truck) to transport our items to downtown. They ended coming with our items in a 15' U-HAUL truck with all our items. When you look at the spec for a 15' truck, the total volume is 764 cu ft! And the truck wasn't even full! So the 700 cu ft estimate was correct all along. I actually spoke to an executive at Plymouth. I gave him the story along with plenty of pictures and diagrams proving my case. After texting him all the proof, he 100% ghosted me. He no longer wanted to talk to me or return my phone calls. I have no choice but to file a complaint with the ComplaintsBoard.com who can hopefully advocate for me. Thank you! RYDER and UHAUL pix included.(By the way, there were other issues, but I wanted to be selective due to space constraints.)
On June 10th, a guy from Plymouth Van Lines Inc came to our house to give an estimate in person
On June 10th, a guy from Plymouth Van Lines Inc came to our house to give an estimate in person. We made sure he checked everything in the house. He quoted a total of $3800. Moving day finally arrived after it got canceled once and delayed multiple times. Let me tell you, the guy in charge, who showed up with the movers, was one of the most unprofessional people I've ever dealt with. We asked him to cancel the job, but he refused and said, "it's too late now, your stuff is already on my truck, and don't forget the 5% tips for me and the guys." Now our total cubic feet went up to a whopping $11,385, not $3600! Then they told us that since we were paying by check instead of cash, they would have to wait for the check to clear before shipping our belongings. Finally, someone named *** returned our calls and got the owner of the office on the phone. The owner, ***, refused to ship our truck, claiming that the check hadn't cleared, even though it was taken out of my account the next day (June 18th). They promised to ship the truck on June 27th. We spoke to an operational manager named *** from their office to confirm. Finally, *** told us on June 28th that the truck had been loaded and would be shipped by the 29th. But then, on the same day, I got a call from ***, who said he was with the owners of the company. They offered me a $300 discount if I was willing to wait a few more business days for shipping. I declined, and *** said, "fine, no discount for you. But even if your truck gets shipped tomorrow, it will still take 3-5 business days to deliver to ***, because that's what the department of transportation regulations say. *** doesn't know anything about your situation, I'm the one who has your truck." We asked *** for their addresses in *** so we could file a report, but he said he didn't have them. They're holding our stuff hostage, and we don't even know where their office or warehouse is in . This company is a scam!
