PSE "Other Natural Gas Charges & Credits" crap!
I received my bill for last month with a line item of "Other Natural Gas Charges and Credits" totaling $68.52 bringing my bill up to $214.74. The house has been empty for the last month! When I called and spoke to Roman in customer service, he had no idea what the charge was for and was reading information it sounded like he logged on to Google really quick to find. I've had issues with PSE in the past where they find out suddenly, they've under charged me for a period of time and I'll get a $600 bill! To get a $214.74 bill for an empty house is one thing, but then to call and be told they don't know! He also said if I had that much of a problem with it, he could direct me to the state agency I needed to call to discuss the extra charge, REALLY!? They need to train their customer service people, and they need to get their act together with their billing!
Desired outcome: Explanation of extra charges and some training for their staff!

Electricity billing based on faulty machinery
We purchased a brand new home in July 2023. Puget sound energy installed a faulty electricity meter that did not accurately read electricity usage (and knew it was faulty). PSE did not communicate this issue with us at all, we never received an email or letter or any phone call explaining this issue. We were billed from July 2023 through to January 2024...

Shutting off my power with no warning
Puget Sound Energy shut off my power without warning while I was giving my kids a bath. They claim it was an emergency to cut down a tree, yet we have had no inclement weather for weeks now in the middle of the summer and it wasn't an emergency at any other time than at 8:30pm when their offices are closed. I had to rinse my kids off with gallons of water. They were cold and it was less than ideal to have to act like you're camping when you haven't even left your home because a group of people decide for you that you don't need your power and shut it off with no warning.
Thousands of trees laying on power lines all over Port Orchard and they do nothing about those trees, but it's suddenly an emergency and they have to shut off my power with no warning. I don't understand it.
Desired outcome: They should warn people. Or they should just let trees fall like they do everywhere else.
Electric bill.
I would like to file a complaint regarding my electric bill.
I've contacted PSE several times about my concerns but none are taken seriously and brushed off that my usage is just high because of winter.
There is a problem with that, the house is vacant, and the hot water tank and heat are turned off all year round, so why is my electric bill fluctuating to double the cost over the summer months when I don't use more electricity?
I've asked them to investigate several times but they are always ignoring my requests.
Desired outcome: I would like to be charged the actual amount of usage, not estimates based on the time of year because I do not use more electricity in winter over the summer months.
Driver
Complaint for truck # 022181 / lic. # c08422e on fri. 6/4/21' approx. 10:45 a.M. @ ear, nose, throat & allergy office, 104 27thave s.E., puy., wa.98374. Complaint is this is small office with small parking lot, parking is tight. The driver of your truck mentioned above backed into spot, at an angle, taking up 2 spots ! i honked & pointed to the parking job & he just glanced, then went into office ! i watched several elderly folks pull in & circle lot until spot opened up & your driver took 2 ! problem is your truck has " p.S.E. " on door so not only does it make driver inconsiderate but makes you look bad as company, he represent's you !
Desired outcome: TALK TO DRIVER & MAYBE MEMO TO ALL DRIVERS , THEY REPRESENT YOU !!!!
Dangerous driver in unincorporated king county
11:42 am February 28th. I was on a bicycle riding with a friend. Road had no shoulder through a dangerous s-turn on 196th Ave SE as it bends downhill into SE 150th St. along the southern tip of Lake McDonald. It's a 25mph turn, but the pse truck driver was going faster than that it seemed. Rather than slow down the driver accelerated, crossed the double yellow solid line in the blind turn straight into oncoming traffic. He then darted back into his own lane forcing me to dodge. I passed him a couple minutes later where he was parked and walking up a driveway. I told him he forced me into the dirt and he didn't even turn around while rattling off a disrespectful response that I could not entirely hear, it was clear by his tone and that it was not an apology. The pse truck number I believe was 43-4253 or 43-0253.
Desired outcome: I want this properly documented. That truck is too big for a non-professional operator. Would like follow-up communication to know how this is handled. I would not like my included contact info shared with this driver.
Billing more than one month at a time
I am on a fixed budget (SSI) and have a problem when I am billed for more than 1 month's energy use at one time. I just got tagged with a bill of over $300 for electric. I have not received a bill prior to this. What the HELL?
Do you guys do this often? Can I expect this kind of treatment in the future?
Anthony James Denny
How can PSE employ such a person?
Anthony James Denny DOB 8/28/1989 Arrested on 8/12/2012 in Denison, TX for 1st deg molestation of an 7yr old girl. Charges dropped as victim could not testify.
Arrested on 11/13/2013 in Filer, ID for innapropriate touching and exposure with 9yr old girl. Charges dropped as family would not allow child to testify.
Don't you guys do background checks? Shame on yo PSE!
Terrible PSE Employee
I had an interaction 4/29 with Anthony Denny of Puget Sound Energy. He is really a rude nasty person. I just really want the company to know that they have a reckless employee who uses drugs on the job and treats customers like were [censored]s. Very poor attitude and extremely rude. Puget Sound Energy should investigate Anthony and get him to take a drug test.
Customer care
Carol Manni account #[protected]. 21730 Old owen Rd. Monroe Wa 98272 e-mail [protected]@gmail.com
[protected] my name is Carol manni I have been a customer of PSE for many years. I have or did automatic withdrawal on my account. On 03-28-2020 my payment was returned due to non sufficient funds . I assumed that payment would be ran again but was not so I received a $16.00 returned payment fee. I called customer service at your Bellevue Wa office and was connected to BEN who was very nasty and refused to credit me the $16.00 I explained I was out of work due to cov-19 BEN didn't care said he would not credit my account. I asked BEN to speak with someone else, he said it wouldn't do any good I would not get a credit. I insisted and was connected to SARAH she was very professional and gave me the credit. BEN should be fired as far as I'm concerned. Nasty man and makes PSE look really bad.. please E-mail me with your response.
disconnect without notice
Puget Sound Energy disconnected my power without proper notification, cancelled my account, and then charged me $178 to reconnect services. They placed a notice on my door on October 9th at 3:30 but backdated the written notice to the falsely state it was delivered October 6th. WAC 480.100.138 states that the utility must deliver a second notice (in addition to mail) to the service premises and attach it to the customer's primary door. The notice must state a scheduled disconnection date that is not earlier than 5:00 PM of the second business day after the day of the delivery. There was no disconnection date indicated and they disconnected services immediately, NOT the second business day. I had been traveling internationally for work and had an $80 bill that was only 7 days overdue. Every single person that I've subsequently spoken to at PSE has been inconsiderate and uncaring; they certainly don't have any concern that the temperate dropped into the 30s and that we had a medical . Horrible experience.
making initial payment
I contacted PSE on 10/10/19 around 2:30 - 2:45 pm to pay my energy bill. I admit the reception wasn't the best but the customer service reps attitude was worse. Her first question was if i'd rather use the machine to pay my bill after i waited on line to speak with her. Sure, i rather speak to a machine after I've waited on line for a person. She acted as if it hurt her to assist. Her attitude was a turn off and If this is any indication of the service you provide i will be looking into finding someone else and/or even moving if i have to. Piss poor customer service she should be ashamed of herself and you as well for hiring her.
transaction that puget sound energy processed on june 26, 2019 was approved via mastercard
There was a shut-off notice on the door of my apartment when I returned from vacation on August 4, 2019. I was very upset because I knew that I had called Puget Sound Energy and paid my bill before taking my trip.
There was mold maggots in my freezer! I gagged when I opened up my refrigerator door because of the stinky smell that took hours to air out of my apartment! I was unable to take a hot shower after a long flight...what was happening seemed like a nightmare.
I want to be compensated for all the groceries that I had to replace due to my power being cut off. I was inconvenienced because I couldn't take a shower, or cook anything to eat.
When I attempted to talk to customer service to let them know that I paid the bill, they cut me off, and management wasn't any better. When I explained that I did pay my bill, the response was, "you haven't paid your bill since..."
Now, I opened my mail, and I have found that I am being billed $251.51 again this month! This is the SAME amount I just paid last month! I arranged automatic pay with a supervisor over the phone, but it seems that he didn't follow through with the plan.
Puget Sound Energy has threatened to refer me to a collection agency or credit reporting agency! Puget Sound Energy is supposed to be a well-organized, reputable company, but it's making a lot of serious mistakes that are causing problems for me, the consumer. I am requesting that a supervisor call me at [protected], to discuss a resolution to this issue.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Sonia Rose
electric services-winter power outages u never get credit
Lost power for (3) days straight and had to stay at a hotel. Food spoiled and PSE never gave us a credit for the loss of service or the food. I was told by the most flipped customer service rep that I should have called. I politely informed her that I turned in the power outage and they sent me updated texts on my phone informing me of when to expect my power back. The information was not up to day at one point the power came back on for 2 minutes only to go back out yet again. I have moved this month and transferred my service to my new location and now they want to bill me a mystery amount of $172.32 for what I don't know and they can't explain so I told her charge it off to me staying in the Hotel for 3 days and loosing my food that's when she got smart with me and said I should have called. PSE is a Piece of [censored] Energy company who hold a monopoly in the outlined areas. They don't give a [censored] about their customers and the wrong that they continue to do to the very people who pay their wages. WATCH YOUR BILLS from PSE because they will Screw you in anyway they can. I'm sure they take car of their own and screw the general public.
Disconnection
Yesterday I went home to find that my power had been disconnected for $89.00. Today I had to pay $143.50, half of the amount needed to get it back on. This is the 3rd or 4th time I have been disconnected for less than $100.00. Seattle is already super expensive to live and PSE takes advantage of people who are already struggling. I am so disappointed in the actions of PSE. Seattle City Light never does this. And because you are privately owned, you just treat people any kind of way. I wish I could choose my service, because it would never be PSE. You all should be ashamed of how you do things to make profit. You are inconsiderate of your customers and the saddest is part is your company, nor employees even care. I was simply I can be disconnected for any amount. Way to go PSE! Good job caring about your customers to the point of forcing extra money out of people who don't have it to spare.
unsafe employee
I was driving down Anderson Hill in Kitsap County when a PSE truck pulled out right in front of me and continued to go 25 in a 45 for quite a while. There was no one behind me at all and he could see that but still chose to pull out in front of me. I did not react other than to slow down and keep a good distance between us. We came to some construction that put us at a stop and he chose to turn around in a driveway and go the other way. It may not have been mature but considering what he did and that I did not react at all I am okay with it. I flipped him off with my hand in the car as he passed. In my rearview mirror I could see him backing up down the street. I assumed he was driving backwards to confront me. I lowered my window and when he came next to me I thanked him for cutting me off and driving way below the speed limit for no reason and that there had been no one behind me and it was unneeded. I don't remember most of the conversation after that, it lasted about 30 seconds. I did point out to him that he was fairly dumb to confront me considering that I had his truck number and would be reporting it to PSE. That probably saved me from a much more hostile exchange but at the same time he probably figured that he had nothing to lose since he had already driven a company truck backwards.
I do believe at one point I called him a [censored] or [censored] or some other colorful comment. He ended it with telling me what a lady I was which is fairly chauvinistic to think a woman can't use slang or profanity. Kind of went with his behavior of driving backwards down a street and confronting someone who had flipped him off. Problems- driving backwards down a street (and not too slowly either, ) confronting someone while on the job, using chauvinistic comment, the whole pulling out in front of me in an unsafe manner for no good reason.

lack of prompt daily usage data
I understand daily useage data is promptly available in some areas and not in others. I live just outside the city limits of Blaine on a main road. Apparently daily data is available in Blaine but not to my residence. I have a heat pump and wish to be able to analyse my dailing useage when I turn on the cooling side of the high efficiency heat pump or...
Read full review of Puget Sound Energy [PSE]electric service
Since March, I complained about an erroneous amt. of billing for a 500 sq. ft. unit with the heat kept at 60 degrees (Acct. [protected]). Finally, after being shown it was "estimated", cold weather season, and at 64% higher than neighbors a man brought out a new meter and discovered that indeed I had a non functioning meter. He replaced it and said he would have it reviewed and amts. lowered. 3 times calling with promised expedited reviews, two complaint forms and God knows how many calls, I was again NOT put through to a supervisor and told I would have the file reviewed and a call back within a few days The company continues to report not having a record of calls, promises of expedited reviews but I with difficulty printed the form, kept names of people I talked to and have let my frustration having me yell at a young man who did not deserve it.. I must say, I am a 74 year old woman with a very high credit score. I am not a flake. It seems that they want to gouge and not admit they had an error. I need help with this and have been debating turning Jesse on this or suing but I would like to have this resolved by a supervisor or someone who can admit the company was in error. I was told not to pay the bill by a PSE employee but keep getting dunning letters telling me this acct. is past due. PLEASE help me to resolve this issue. I have spent too much time and energy trying to be responsible.
