harassing phone calls
On November 4, 2017, Rain Soft has called us SIX times between 11:22 and 12:44. They called on THREE different numbers: [protected] four times; [protected] and [protected] one time each. We have Call Blocking on our phone and have these 3 numbers blocked. We have NEVER done business with this company and we are on the Do Not Call List and they keep calling. This is nothing less than HARASSAMENT. We would like it to stop.
rainsoft water system
I am completely dissatisfied with the service I have received from Rainsoft and their distributor. I was visited by the distriubtor's representative in my home in August of last year. I agreed to a system that I was told would work. The system was installed incorrectly has caused water damage to my under sink cabinet. I have limescale, white particles in my water. The system has not worked from day one for myself. I reached out to the distributor who thought giving me $100 gift card would resolve this matter. I asked for them to come and remove the equipment to which I was advised there is no return after 3 days. I am now experiencing issues in my bathrooms and potties in my home I was told that this product would make my life easier when it came to cleaning infact it has not I spend more time cleaning my bathrooms than I did prior to the installation of the system. I was advised that a representative would come back after six weeks to test water. The distributor has advised me that it was my responsibility to contact to them to come and make sure that the system was working correctly that is not what the representative advised us. I want this system removed out of my home and the debt that is showing under my name cleared and removed. I will not recommend any family or friends to use Rainsoft or their products due to the distributors that they use. I have called and spoken to all companies involved and everyone tells me to suck it up. I do not believe any of the people telling me to suck it up would pay for a system or a product that did not work according to what they were told in a demonstration. When I called and advised of the issues I was told no the pipes need to get used to the system give it time. Sure give it time so the return policy is no longer valid. I am disappointed in the service and the attitude of the people I have spoken to. I need this matter resolved as soon as possible. Rainsoft, High Quality Water and Preferred Credit will not receive any business from myself, family or friends.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
Uhm...as a former bill collector, has RainSoft ever heard of the FDCPA? Putting this lady’s business out there was beyond unprofessional, and against the law. To the original poster, I’d consider contacting your state’s attorney general.
Rainsoft you should not have even replied in this manner, stating someone is having a temper tantrum and not paying their bills is so unprofessional coming from a business. somethings should not be posted on the internet especially from a business. this comment from your representative only proves the maturity level of your staff and regardless what is going on the customer is always right!
My husband and I had a demo yesterday and we were not going to be pressured into any thing, we both wanted to research reviews and wee what others have experienced before making a purchase, I am so glad that we are smart and always agreed to never purchase under pressure! we always do the homework first and this morning over coffee we researched and found this, I have seen nothing but negative reviews which right away we both said... yep, we knew it, the red flags we got from the salesman were right on spot...[censor]! so thank you rain soft for your reply in that manner this basically finalized our decision to not purchase your system. don't want the headache of having to deal with all this mess we both have been reading. wow, haste makes waste, and I am so glad we always wait and research. whew... dodged that bullet!
preventive maintenance by florida energy water & air (dealer of rainsoft)
This is a review for Florida Energy Water & Air Inc (Rainsoft service dealer)The initial installation of the water treatment system was slopy (it was a guy i forgot his name with latin origin based off west palm beach). Nice guy but his work was not of a well trained or skilled handy man. Plus the work was done on late afternoon so he was rushing to get it done before it was dark. So, i recommend if you're having a system installed to push for having it scheduled in the morning, they won't give you a specific time they'll just say we'll call you with a window, so make sure to have then schedule that window time frame in the morning. I ended up doing some of the work myself (dangling wires attachment and covering electril connections with electrical tape and buying a new electril outlet cover after the tech intentionally broke it to have the a small transformer plugged in and also rearranging a PVC pipe to a drain duct rather than sticking it in the ground like the tech did). I have purchased an expensive system, but still get kind a yellowish (orange like) water, not clear water. I scheduled my initial preventive maintenance a year later after purchase and that was a hasle in itself. I scheduled for the first time and they cancelled on me after arrange my schedule to be present in the house. I arranged another schedule on saturday and got a call at 11 AM saying they won't show up until between 5-7 PM, i said no way it'll be close to getting dark and i don't want another slopy work like the first. They then call me on two days later late around noon saying they are ready to come late afternoon, so i agreed. The tech (Dave-based off west palm) did a good job servicing the system (really just valve internals cleaning- half hour or less job for $180) and I mentioned to him that i have yellowish water so he recommended to add tanan product, unfortunetly he said, he didn't have any in the truck to do it during his service at the time. So he recommended that i call the office and within 30 days and ask if someone going to be in area and add it at no cost. So i called the very next day the service tech department and asked to have it added and service tech department rep (Rhonda) said she was instructed by the sup that he won't send a tech out just for that, although i mentioned that i don't need it immediately, just whenever a tech is in the area it'd be fine with me, i don't care if it is a month or two from now. She gave me the 800 # for customer service (which is next door) and the extension of the sup there (Sharon). She answered got the address, put me on hold, and never answered. So, i called the main desk and Sasha answered, put me on hold, and answered 4 mins later saying that she was instructed that there is a charge to do that (notice the discrepency b/w the service tech sup and customer service sup). I told how come? that is not what i was told by Rhonda nor the tech (Dave) plus it is not my fault that the tanan product wasn't kept in the truck when the tech came. She (Sasha) said she will get back with me after checking with the serive tech dept sup. She called me an hour later and said, it is $130 +$45 labor/half hour, not free of charge. I said i had yellowish water since the first day the system was installed and she mentioned that if it would have been within the first year it would have been free of charge. So i thanked her and told her never again, i'd rather do the service myself than call you guys, it is my first and will be my last. All fairness to the tech (Dave) and reps (Rhonda and Sasha), they all tried to help with what they could, it is the sups/managers (Sharon from customer service and Roberts from service tech dept) that weren't helpful or at least have their stories straight. Conclusion:1)if you purchased the system and still under a year i suggest calling them for the simplest thing 2) never have ur service or install late afternoon 3)shop around before hiring them for preventive maintenance 3) if you have time and are handy do it yourself it is simple, parts are available online
rainsoft drinking system
Purchased the drinking water in 12/2016 was disappointed by the sales person. I needed to change my kitchen sink faucet and an issue connecting the system called customer service and explained the issue they were rude and asked for a service fee of 100 when I paid 1000 and only had the system for 3 months spoke to a supervisor and explained the issue was very nasty speaking to me for no reason and was not even attempting to help. Disappointed will never recommend. Now I will sell the system not worth it.
no compensation to new hire (not even a returned phone call)!!!
Like Johndoe (former employee review) to was required to attending supposedly "paid training" classes, prior to going out in the field to demo, then sell!
I gave then nearly 30 hours in class and additional hours in gas and time back and forth each day. That was over a month ago, and to this minute I received NOTHING! What they owed me was less than $230 dollars for God Sake!
So use your brain, I have to wonder what their response would be with a larger request for post sale reimbursement, or whatever?
A true WASTE of my time!
Do not let these people from rain soft/depot in your house.
Home Depot should be ashamed at the partnership with Rain Soft.
My first mistake was to send in the FREE Water test tube I picked up on the way out at Home Depot.
My second mistake was listening to the follow-up test result person saying the water leaked out of the test tube we need to come to your house to do a FREE water test at your convenience.
What a scam...Rep. from Rain Soft arrives and proceeds to ask me all types of personal questions which are NOT ANY of his business.
Ask me if my husband was home.
Commented on a vehicle in my garage.
Talked to me as if I was hard of hearing.
Looked at my Culligan Water Softener in the garage and kept asking me the particulars about the unit.
Tells me how much a new updated Culligan unit may cost me.
Proceeds to sell me a Rain Soft System for $6, 000 +++ or $9, 000 ++++.
What a scam. I told the Rep to have a nice day and showed him the door.
Scam. Uncomfortable.
Worst thing the Rep said, we looked your home up and could not figure out why home listed under a corporation and not your last name.
Again, not ANY of his business nor Rain Soft's business.

complete water system - whole house water softener/reverse ososes under sink and smart clean washer system
First:
The system was installed leaving debris through out the installation area. I called and they sent someone out to clean up on 4/26/16 2 weeks later.
Second:
The clean start on the washer wouldn't allow the washer to work. Service was called and he turned up pressure and turned on hot water to washer. Washer worked for a week before the clean start stressed the water pump so bad the laundry room and house was flooded with water. Dehumidifiers, fans and holes in the walls were made to mitigate the flood. I called service and they just said start the washer to see if it runs and call them back. No help at all! We had to replace all base boards, paint and buy a new washer.
Third:
We had the water tested under the sink and the results were the water was still acid and did not replace essential mineral nutrients leaving us with "Dead Water".
Fourth:
Our water company Rancho Water does not want these systems installed. The salts/pollutants are being put into the sewer system from the laundry room and contribute to the overall salt load to the local water table where there is already a problem with salinity. This is not a green product.
Conclusion:
We do not want the system and have notified Rain-soft, Home Depot and CityBank. We have yet to hear back from anyone to have this system removed.
defective timer & timer motor
I have had to replace the same motor & timer several times. The local dealer last time said the only way to fix it permanently is to upgrade to a digital timer which of course cost more money. I spoke to Susan Schumaker in corporate & they are more concerned with profits & did not want to take profits away from local dealer Florida Energy Water & Air in Tampa Florida. That is another issue, in that the company protects dealers & profits by only allowing one dealer to service area. That allows them to charge ridiculous rates for service & repair. I have tried to get them to commit to a solution & they have stalled & had excuses. They also seem to want to minimize conversations & not commit to anything. Very poor customer service, just look at all the complaints everywhere!.
Product does not do what we paid for it to do!!
Do not buy this system! We totally fell for the speech and the representatives tests he did on our water. We bought the system and after them coming back 3 times to fix the system because it was not working properly, it still does not do what the representative said it would do for our family. We do not save money on lotions, detergents and cleaning supplies and the water does not feel any differently from what it felt like before. We called and asked to have the system taken out but were told we would still have to pay the remaining balance of $7, 000 because we did not cancel within 3 days... How were we supposed to cancel in 3 days when it took them over 2 months to get the system working properly. Customer service representatives are very nice, but now my family is stuck with a water system we hate! Do not buy this system!
I totally 100's agree with you cuz I have same problem and stuck with this peice [censored] [censored] rainsoft.
I'm agree DO NOT BUY THIS SYSTEM! System not working properly, water taste and smells disgusting. The problem is not only the monthly payments what we were agreed to pay to get GOOD WATER. This system/product does not do what we paid for it to do! . DO NOT BUY THIS SYSTEM!
filtration system
Do NOT believe a word these people try and pitch to you. If you are worried about your water quality, order a water text kit and perform simple tests yourself. The sales reps will lie lie lie and do whatever they can to get you to purchase their system. Scare tactics should not be a reason to purchase something without proper research. Our water quality is perfect and we were led to believe that its horrible and our family is in peril due to what we are drinking. Total crap. Test your water yourselves. Do NOT believe the smoke and mirrors these guys are selling.
rainsoft water treatment system
In May of 2014 my husband was in Home Depot and was approached by Rain Soft in connection with Home Depot (we later found out it was just a scam to get a Home Depot credit card). My husband, assuming it was a product backed by Home Depot agreed to let them come out to our home for a demonstration. DO NOT BELIEVE THE MAGIC TRICKS!!! The gentleman came out...
Read full review of RainSoftrude manager that refused to help us after we had bought the system.
We bought the Rainsoft Water Treatment and after the three day return policy had expired found out that the financing which we understood to be interest free was actually 7.9%. When I called the Fenton office I spoke to the "manager" Dan and after some arguing was later told that we had bought the system and that his office had nothing else to do with the...

I knew there had to be a catch, I should have put my foot down instead of giving in to "but they're just coming to test our water Dear". Did we really need a $20 Home Depot gift card? So this guy shows up, swearing up one side and down the other that he is not going to try selling us anything. Yeah right. Took him 2 1/2 hours to get done with his stupid tests. Then, after we were determined to have the worst water on earth, came what I was waiting for . . . . . "do you want to hear the solution?" Oh great, here it comes. So he proceeded with his fast-talking spiel. It took him another 5 hours before he left us, mad as heck, without making a sale. When he was showing us the different bundled products and their prices he kept discouraging us from paying the whole thing in cash. Didn't even want to discuss it. Strongly urged financing, but when we asked for a payment schedule he had no information at all to give us. We explained to him, and he could see by the framework our contractors had recently put up, that we were in the process of a renovation. The system, had we chosen to purchase, would have had to be placed in a way so that it could reach three separate buildings on our property and we showed him exactly where we would need it to be. He told us that we could choose a few different locations and the installers would determine which would work the best. Then when we decided we'd like a little more time to talk it over, he said if we didn't buy it right then that the installers would not be obligated to install where we wanted it, and that they would put it wherever it was most convenient for them - even if it meant putting the thing right in our front yard! But my main complaint, aside from the amount of our time he wasted, is his tactics. When he arrived he told us he wasn't trying to sell us anything, then when he did try to sell us his products he was so pushy! He was worse than a time-share presentation! We asked for a business card so we could discuss it in private and then give him a call he told us he had no cards and that he wouldn't discuss a sale with us after this day. Now or never. Well that just made me mad and I got downright rude with him. I told him we weren't buying anything on the spot without a chance to think about it regardless of the incentives he was trying to bribe us with. Free crappy watered down soap for a year just doesn't excite me much. In short, I'm terribly disappointed in Home Depot for their involvement and association with this business.
scam water system
Sept 28, 2015
A salesperson who uses highly aggressive and deceptive sales tactics to sell the system because it is not good enough to sell itself. Told that it should cost 6, 000 just for a water system that is equal to what you can buy for 2, 000 new from a plumbling supply warehouse. There warranty is lifetime but only on parts not labor. I have heard people spending hundreds of dollars just on labor to fix warranty issues. Luckily I cancelled and didn't buy or else they would have put a lien on my house.
I own a system that was purchased three years ago. it replaced a culligan system that failed after three years. I was a little nervous on spending that kind of money but what the sales rep told me was 100 percent factual. the money I save on soaps and bottle water pays for my system.
horrible customer service. technician broke system.
We have a commercial water cleaning system (8K) we purchased from this company 8 years ago. Since then, they are the only company to come out and service the system. Five months ago, a technician came out and after he left, suddenly, the system was broken. I called to tell them that the salt in the tank has not gone down (when I was going to refill it-which I normally do every 4-5 months with new bags), the salt level was still at the top. They told me I only had 30 days to have someone come back out. Otherwise they charge me. This system is in my garage. I would NEVER know if this wasn't working. I work, have children and have a life. How would anyone know if the system isn't working. The lady said "well, maybe you would notice water spots." Please... So, now they are charging me for another man to come fix what the other guy broke because I didn't notice water spots. (Which i didn't, so it makes me wonder what exactly this system does at all).
Obviously the system was working before the technician came out (no notes that anything was wrong with the system-never said anything to me). The same technician came out and asked me for the manual so he could fix it. He said he didn't really understand this commercial type of system and needed to go back and research it. They obviously did not charge for this service because the technician was not able to do anything. I have spent a lot of time on the phone with two separate women and have been treated so poorly and unprofessionally. I have requested numerous times for the owner to contact me. They keep telling me he is on vacation. Last week they told me he would be back on Monday and call me. He never called me, so I called today (Tuesday) and was told he was on vacation again. The last representative hung up the phone on me.
I also now understand that they lied when we first went to them for a system. There is NO possible way we needed a commercial sized unit in our residential house. They lied and told us this is the size we needed. I now understand from the technician that no residential houses have this enormous unit. Definitely over sold and lied to.
is the test fake too?
Sent free water test to Home Depot, so someone came to test water. Looks like our water was gross, so I'm making my 9 month olds food and I say, "should I use the filtered water?" So he pours some in the bowl I mix my baby's rice cereal with. Then it all turned into a sales pitch which we hemmed and hawed over and he was at our house for 5 hours! Ultimately ending in us cancelling, because we read all these reviews and realize we were lied to. Now I'm freaking out - is ANY of the water test real!? Especially the "mini system" he hooked up to my faucet to show how much better their water is? Or was it filled with chemicals to make their water not react to the test and I just made baby food for my 9 month old with it because I thought it was legitimately a water test at that time of our "demonstration!?" He spit up a lot today - is this coincidence or did my baby just eat chemical - please help I'm freaking out - thank you
the tests are not fake and I purchased my system from the same dealer. I live 20 minutes from you. best purchase I ever made. It is saving me a tremendous amount of money. worth the investment
pleasantly surprised
After reading some of the complaints on here, I was a little worried about my upcoming installation. However, the man who installed our equipment did a really great job. He took extra time to make sure the installation was done properly and did not cut corners, which we really appreciated. I just want to add thank you and great work.
me too
we now have great water
Setting up consultation with the sales rep was fairly simple. They spoke to us, we put our information down, they called us to confirm the appointment, and the gentleman came out to the house. It was nice to see everything firsthand. That helped with the presentation. After having the system installed, the water tastes better, don't use half as much cleaning product as I had to before, cooking with the water is much better, skin is a lot better... Generally the quality has increased tenfold from what it was before. I had a great overall experience. I wish we would have known about them a lot sooner than we had.
helpfull
I have read the many complaints against Rainsoft and am amazed that people will take these complaints and chose to believe that the whole company is bad. What about the many customers that are satisfied with everything Rainsoft has to offer and does in making sure their customers are taken care of. Unfortunately we do not live in a perfect world and there are always some that just cannot be satisfied. Also, maybe the whole situation was not entirely the way it was described and human error came into play. One or two apples do not spoil the whole bunch. But, then again, there are those who want to make it so and cause others who read and believe these complaints to lose out on having a very satisfactory experience. I understand that Rainsoft is a very large company and is all over the world. I am sure just like any large company like Sears, Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes, Pennys, etc. etc. All have some sort of complaints. But, we still continue to do business with them. So, I say let's look at the side of all the millions of satisfied customers who have had a great experience, which far out weigh the ones who have not.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Let me guess: you work for RainSoft, right? Since they scan their way into our homes under the premise of free water testing, I don't doubt for a second that the positive reviews here are from their own employees.
misleading
The Salesman lied about the cost. Was not inform that I would have to pay for maintenance. I don't believe there was anything wrong with my water to start. They just made it seem that way so I would purchase the system. I was not told that it would be 22% interest on the loan from American Finco. Now, I'm being Sued by Velocity investment the company...
