Store manager "Nick", attacked me viciously and with malice to hurt me & my dog
I, Joshua Perahia, was attacked by your store manager Nick, who had some insane problem with me for returning bad food, as I showed total respect & restraint as he screamed at me, telling me there is no refund, then demanded that I get out of the store loudly, and get my service dog out, & never come back to "HIS STORE". He continually yelled at me, telling everyone in the store that I can no longer shop there after 46 years of buying my groceries there. His voice carried through the entire store. He ran to the customer service desk to remove your other employee so he could attack me, and make threats. This has never happened to me in my entire life. To be shamed for no reason, and told to get out and never come back. I DID NOTHING, as a sick heart patient. I am going to Torrance Memorial hospital right now with chest pain over this encounter. My case is [protected]
Desired outcome: TERMINATION OF THIS MANIAC NAMED NICK YOU HIRED AS A MANAGER WITH A SICK TEMPER
Cashier service
Today, at the store on 2600 Vermont Ave. got 3 bakery products marked down ar 50% regular prize the cashier named L Cameron, L ;refused to verified the prize actual prize and didn't want to apply the deduction. I paid the full prize and went to another cashier who as an angel gladdy help Us. Employees like her should be gratified for the Class A, service and the cortesy in her relation with customers. After all your compnay depends on us the clients. Doesn't it. So I kindly ask that the next promotion turn You guys give a vbit applause to Norma Salamanca; who put your compnay high and in the mantime the other lazy person should be cleaning the store's floors. I'm going to past this note to whoever (can possible read it) Because employees like with should not work as a Cashier helping people.
Hope you really care about customers and give a low grade on his annual report.
Sincerely yours,

Self checkout
Bags of any kind have been removed from all the self checkout registers. If a bag is needed, a clerk must be located and asked for one. There’s two issues with this. One, a clerk is rarely around to ask, and two, this practice implies that all customers are criminals and can’t be trusted to bag their own groceries. I will NOT be shopping at a store where I a made to feel like a criminal. I can go to Vons which is located right across the street. I have noticed, over the last year or so, that the quality of service at this Ralph’s location has slowly declined. For the price customers are paying for groceries, the service should be that much better. This Ralph’s location continues to fail. You are slowly losing customers.
Desired outcome: Replace the store director, and keep bags stocked up at the cash registers. Customers are NOT criminals.
Cashier at Ralph’s in Burbank Alameda Ave
I’m writing this because I’ve had a bad experience with the same cashier 2x, she is very rude, she has a bad attitude very bad customer service, every time I go to this store I avoid getting her to be my cashier but this 2x I got her as my cashier, first time I was trying to help her bad my groceries and she said: Stop bagging I don’t need your help, with a...
Read full review of Ralphs GroceryDaily meal department at 3rd street.
To whom it may be concerned,
My name is Kouakou Sessi, there were very malpractice and bad treatment from one of your employees at daily meal department. First, there was a liar by this employee about the hours that department start service and he said 10am, and I can feel it that it was a racism respond.
Second, I went back to the front, and find out the regular time for opening is 7am. I came back to him that you just gave me a wrong serving time, and that time he is asking me what I need, but to me is too late, even top of that he called a security on me because security needs to take care of this black man. It is very important that we are all American and needed to be treated equal. My question is that you need employee like that to be serving there with this malpractice and treatment? I don't think so that the Los Angeles city folks need the civil rights violation on them.
Management personal please, I want you to do really quick action on that kind of bad dividing behavior.
Yours Sincerely,
Kouakou Sessi
Desired outcome: This employee needs to be fired.
Harassment of store security officer guard.
Dear Ralph's Supermarket: This is the second time that this same security guard has stopped this same store customer. Today's date is January 31, 2023, Tuesday. As again i am a faithful store customer at many different Ralph's in the South Bay area. After shopping for 9 different store items and checking out in the number 7 fast check-out line. The casher was Justin B., and the time was 600pm or 1800 hours, leaving the Ralph's store with two bags. One bag was from 85 degrees, the other bag was the Ralph's store bag. Both of these bag's where in the bottom of a black Ralph's shopping cart. Upon leaving the Ralph's store on the west end exit. I saluted the store security guard, returning with a smile and the nod of his head. My family member call and asked if i could get some chips, so I went back into to Ralph's store again. Upon interning the store, the security guard Asked what happened. I said that my family wanted some chips and asked me to Put the black shopping cart to the side. So, I put the shopping cart right after the store wheelchair shopping carts. I went back to the number line 7 that had only one anther customer. The casher was again Justin B. as the check-out time was 6:12. Again, upon leaving the Ralph's store, I exited the store again at the west exit, saluting the security again. While after going through the sliding glass doors. The front wheels of the shopping cart locked and then unlocked. After Being outside the Ralph's store the security guard came outside the store and asked what was in the Ralph's store bag. After showing the security guard the chips that were in the white marked Ralph's shopping bag. I let the store and returned at 6:19 along with calling the Torrance Police spoke with officer Lopez for 00:05:43 minutes. Officer Lopez said its'
Poinsettia plant
I was shopping in your Chula Vista store at 780 Otay Lakes Rd on Sunday morning. In the flower department were a few 40% off signs in and around the poinsettia plants. No other indication as to size, style or container, just 40% off.
So I selected one in a Christmas tin. In checking out, I questioned the register associate who said, that is only for the small ones, adding others found that confusing as well. No offer to meet the discount, just a curt, do you still want it?
I said yes and proceeded to pay for my groceries ($88.84), getting very little items…. I hose cash back and got another curt, I don’t have much cash, it’s too early. Like huh, don’t make it my problem I wanted to say, but didn’t. I said give me what you can as I need cash to get gas. He begrudgingly gave me $60.
I really expected better customer service for not only the confusing plant discount, but asking for cash back.
I live 2.5 hours away in Idyllwild and glad I don’t shop at your store.
Very poor service.
Helen Strahan
Desired outcome: Full refund of the non discounted plant $14.99 and rudeness compensation from your cashier.
Dali department service complaint
I visited downtown Los Angeles Ralph's market on Oct 20.2022 6pm.
I went there for buying slice ham from Dali department.
They usually cut the ham and I can control ham Thickness.
I ordered #2 very thin for 10 slices,
the girl working at the ham section(fat and short),
She just cut it whatever she wants.
I asked for ham is too thick and she goes the cutting machine is broken so whatever is just take it. Isn't she supposed to say it before cutting and buy it? She just ignore when I asked for that.
She was staring me up and down giving me a dirty looking.
What a rude and ruthless.
Very unprofessional and disappointed, will never come back.
Complaint against employees
Dear sir or madam,
I visited 10455 sunland blvd, sunland, ca 91040, today october 17, 2022 around 6:30 pm
In order to return sickening food I purchased on october 15, 2022. Cashier by name lisa said
She has to ask her boss whether she can accept it for return or not, the boss denied telling me
Her name when I asked she was not carrying name tag on her chest, the boss was a latino black
Woman. She lied to me originally that she cannot accept the items because they do not have them
In that location, after she checked and learned that they carry those items she did not apologize to me
For lying to me. Later she said that I am not returning on time it is too old receipts but when she checked the receipts again she could not countinue her lie. Later she compared my credit card numbers with the numbers on the receipts and again did not want to accept returns. At the end she told me that I have to stand and wait for her
In front desk every time I return something because she is lazy she does not want to check the camera and the receipts to verify whether I bought from there or not. She also wanted to search my valuable bags with her security guard. Another uneducated cashier who looks like irish or arab later came too and said without learning what is going on and lied that I cannot return those sickening foods. At the end the this black woman said all this food smells bad admitting that she sold bad food therefore she cannot accept them as a return. The security guard followed me out of the store and kept taking pictures of my car without permission. Fire all these above written three criminal from job, please. I also showed the black employee a worm that I found in the vegetables she claimed that I am lying. I told her I am customer not her that she behaves like a small parasite since birth who should not be given job since birth but she did not apologize again for her misdemeanor.
Sincerely michael smith.
Enclosed is the picture of worm I found in the vegetables and the picture of the mischievous security guard who was taking my and my car’s pictures without permission.

Accusing me of stealing
Hi my name is Ernie and all that Ralph's on September 10th around 5:10 p.m. to buy my daughter diapers after I got off work as I'm looking at the Halloween stuff the manager walked up to me and asked me if I'm going to buy the diapers and wipes I have because the other workers said that I try to walk out the store with them which is a lie you can check your cameras and they try to make a scene in front of people like I was trying to steal when I wasn't I paid for the diapers and wipes and I left now I'm thinking about suing and since the manager was black and the girls black maybe they were just racial profiling but I will be contacting a lawyer
Desired outcome: You tell me you what a good outcome would be for somebody accusing you of trying to steal and line
My life was literally threatened, in front of the store manager Alberto M. and the security guard.
At 12:14 am on Thursday, 08/18/22, after doing a bit of shopping at the Ralph's on 5129 Hollywood Blvd. I found myself standing in a very long line. There was only one register open and the customers were visibly upset, they were complaining of how long it was taking for them to cash out and how ridiculous it was that only one cashier was open and all the other ones including the self check out machines were closed. Finally, I see the manager pop around the corner and without eye contact or any kind of visual recognition towards the people in line he was addressing he quickly lets out, "next customers in line." then hurried away. This caused a bit of a mad dash to everyone that had been waiting in line for what seemed to be an eternity. I, Along with several others, made a sharp turn to the left to find new placements for ourselves in the recently created check out line. Please note that I still ended up being the 4th person in the new line. For some reason, the man standing in front of me took it upon himself to scold me and forbid that I take my spot on the new line. He yelled so loud that I noticed everyone around me stopped what they were doing in order to visually inspect what had just happened. He physically placed his hands on my cart to stop it from moving so that a couple of people he knew could cut in front of me. The couple passed on the invitation with a look of horror and embarrassment on their faces. This visibly upset him. I informed him that I had done nothing wrong and there was no reason that I should allow anyone top force their way in front of me. I added that I would have not had a problem if I had been asked in a civilized manner. It seemed to me he was a bit embarrassed at this point, which enraged him. Using some very demeaning language he commenced a verbal attack, calling me, amongst other things, an idiot! Stating that I couldn't follow the store manager's simple instructions to have the next people in line be first at the new register, which they were. In any case he was clearly under the influence of some substance which clearly altered his mood and propelled him to unleash a barrage of very hateful and hurtful speech my way the entire time I was in line. This included threatening me that he was going to get me in the parking lot. He next ambushed my poor husband that was standing next to me in complete silence. He kept trying to verbally antagonize him, asking him what he was going to do about it. My husband would not answer or react, which in turned angered the man more. My husband suffered a stroke 2 years ago that left him semi paralyzed, blind in his left eye and can barely hear from his left ear. The injury to his brain also left him very slow when reacting to things. There was no way that the store manager, literally standing a few feet from us, along with the security guard at a distance no more than 15 feet away, missed the loud and extremely hostile scene that had occurred. In fact, I know the manager was aware of it because he admitted he was when I brought it up. I would like you to keep in mind that if I wouldn't of taken the initiative and brought up the incident, Mr. Alberto M. wouldn't of mentioned it. Didn't bother to ask if we were ok or if we needed an escort to our car. The one thing he did ask was, "what was all that about?" Luckily for Ralph's no one was physically harmed. We did however leave feeling insulted and were emotionally disturbed by the whole thing. I will never shop at this store again and will make sure to pass this story on to all my neighbors. They can then process this knowledge and choose for themselves whether it's worth the risk to shop there. There is nothing that I want from Ralph's, unfortunately this event has taken from me any sense of enjoyment I ever felt while shopping at the store. I felt it crucial to share this disastrous story, hoping to open the eyes of those who are unaware of how poorly the store is being run. Proper training is very useful to those employed at stores located in regions which have recently suffered an increase in criminal activities. Thank you for your time and good luck.
Customer service
Hello,
I'm a long-time customer of Ralphs and have never had a problem with any of the personnel.
Before contacting you I tried for a week to get in touch with the general manager of the store but for one reason or another, he was not available all week long so I'm reaching out to you as my last resort.
Sunday night, (8/7/22)after 9:30 PM, I purposely made a trip to my local store, at 25930 McBean Parkway (known as the store at Granary Square), to get the diet coke that were on sale.
I looked everywhere they could possibly be but I couldn't find any. Thinking they may be somewhere where I hadn't looked or perhaps still in the back room, I asked the woman (Anna) who hands out bags at the self-service registers, where they might be. I expressed to her, that I was tired of walking all around the store twice, and needed help finding where the cokes were.
She told me to look, where the milk and cottage cheese area is. I said, I just came from there, I didn't see them. She said, they sometime display them there. I asked if she could send someone back there for me and she said, there was nobody. She herself was doing nothing but standing around.
As I made my way back there, I realized I had seen a guy, sweeping the floor. When I got to where she had sent me, there was no cokes. The more I walked back to her the more upset I got. When I was ready to check out, I told her how poor I thought the customer service was by not sending someone back there after expressing to her how tired I was walking around so long looking. I said to her, you could have asked the boy sweeping to look or you could have looked for me instead of sending me needlessly back there.
Her response is what really upset me, when she looked at me smugly and said, "I thought you wanted the exercise.".
At my age and the money I spend on groceries, I don't need sarcasm and to put it bluntly, a "smart [censored]". She was quite amused with herself, but I wasn't.
I've been going to this Ralphs for over thirty years and have come across nothing but courteous and helpful personnel until I came across this woman named Anna. If I'm to continue to do my shopping there, I would hope someone would train this woman on how to treat valuable customers.
Thank you, Barbara Cimo
Desired outcome: To give this woman Anna, a talking to on how to treat customers with courtesy and reframe from the smart remarks.
Unlit patio entrance, poor security guards, and no customer service
Mr. McMullen, My name is Charles Grommes La Roche and I live in Santa Barbara, California, I am a longtime customer of Ralphs (12 years) and live across the street from your Santa Barbara downtown location at 125 W. Carrillo St., I shop at your store almost every day/night and am well acquainted with almost all of your Ralphs saff at this store. In the last weeks the lighting in the patio area in front of the only entrance open during the nighttime hours has gone dark and no longer functions, providing many homeless an area to congregate prior to entering your store for shoplifting purposes. I have reported this to two different night managers and one day manager on multiple occasions to no avail, the patio continues to stay dark and I am certain there are plenty of aged and vulnerable customers who feel uneasy, uncomfortable, or scared right there in front of the store entrance in the dark, I believe it would be wise to get these lights working again for multiple reasons as it is a liability and irresponsible of your company to leave this area dark and dangerous. On another note, your security guards who stand by the door at night spend more time playing games on their cell phones or socializing with staff and customers than they do accosting shoplifters and thieves stealing from Ralphs, this is extremely frustrating to me being a Ralphs customer, as I am paying for this thievery and negligence by prices being raised to cover inventory losses as well as the current rate of inflation. I asked a manager WHY you even had a security guard at the door if they didn't accost anyone or do anything to prevent shoplifters from stealing merchandise, I was told verbatim by this manager that the security guard "was just a deterrent to store thieves" and not there to accost shoplifters or take action against them, I have a hard time understanding or accepting that concept! You have a store with a wonderful location in an affluent community that in the last couple of years has shown a lack of being able to keep shelves stocked with everyday products and a staff that has become apathetic to customers wants and needs, many of your staff members at the downtown Santa Barbara Ralphs fall short of the mark and do not understand the concept proper of Customer Service anymore. I hope you appreciate me being candid in my sharing the problems going on at your downtown Santa Barbara Ralphs and that you address and rectify these problems expediently. Sincerely, Charles Grommes La Roche [protected]
Desired outcome: Address the above issues

She gave absolutely horrible service. She took long to scan everyone’s items and she kept leaving her register and talking to other cashiers. I only had 3 items! And I’m leaving with 2 because she “forgot” to scan my other one even though they were all placed together and even stacked so there was no way to confuse or lose anything. Then I asked for a bag...
