I stayed at Red Roof Inn in Palmdale with my kids from September 5th until the 8th 2022. From the jump it was hard to even get someone at the front desk even though it was the middle of the day when we checked in. Once we got in the actual hotel it reeked of Marijuana. And the carpets were dirty so I had reservations about my reservation immediately. The room was filthy and there was only one set of towels which looked dirty so I went to the front desk and asked for more. They assured me someone would bring some but they never did so by the second day I just went to Walmart and bought new towels to use. There was so much wrong with this hotel I can't even begin to explain so I'll just post the pictures because I'm pretty upset I paid for 3 nights but only stayed 2.

I stayed in Allentown PA by the airport. The room was filthy. The bathroom was full of rust and mold. There were little animal turds on the floor in the bathroom. The bedding was not clean and had stains on it. The walls were filthy, and the radio had the last person’s fake eyelashes on it. It was noisy with people coming in and out and knocking on the wall. The deadbolt on the door did not have the bolt so we can feel safe. Last but not least we had to kill roaches. I was not able to take a shower there and had to go to a family member’s house to do so that I made the trip from North Carolina to visit. I am definitely going to ask for a refund because this was totally unacceptable for anyone to have to go through. I am immune compromised and have severe respiratory issues. I had to wear a mask the majority of the time in the room. I have been fighting with yall for a week for a refund and all I keep getting is the runaround by yall. I am waiting until Monday to see if anything is going to be resolved and if not, I will be making a claim with small claims court because this has been incredibly unprofessional, and it makes me want to sue for emotional distress as well.

I began to feel ill while in the room, I got really cold and sweaty, resulting in a fever. Once I felt this way, I then got hot and took off my clothes and hopped in the shower, after showering I got cold again and decided to wrap up. I then got into the bed closet to the bathroom, and underneath the covers because I was freezing, which I typically dont do in any hotel, get underneath the covers, but I was ill. Not thinking anything of it, I began to feel warmer and dosed off to sleep. After sleeping for about 3 hours, I woke up drenched in sweat because I was wrapped up in the covers and had sweated my fever out. I immediately jumped in the shower, because I felt disgusting. After completing my shower, I began to dry off and noticed all these red bumps, bites. all over my naked body, in random places. I had bites on my stomach, back, buttocks and even penis, which is extremely irritating and uncomfortable. Being that I dont have any skin issues and didnt have these itchy bumps on me prior to getting in the bed, I knew it was bed bugs and notified the front office.
I was told that the GM would be notified once he arrived and that I would be moved to another room. Later that morning around 11AM, I was relocated, with no questions or payment, I assumed this was for my highly inconvenienced stay in the other room, staying up all morning due to being afraid I would be bitten again if I got back on the bed. However, around 3PM the clerk came to my room and informed me that I didnt have a reservation and would have to come and pay for the night. I was told that I could get maybe a 10% discount, but for anything else I would have to wait an entire 24 hours to speak with the GM, Joe, again once he returned in the AM. I found this to be very unsettling and unsympathetic.
The bites are very irritating and itchy. They are all over my body and in places I never have bumps, causing me discomfort and restless. Emotionally this has affected me because I have been crying over the bumps on my skin and embarassed to be shirtless at this time. I will be going to seek medical advice on tomorrow morning.
In turn, this has given me some reservations about the hotel property and staff! I definitely hope that the issue was taken very seriously and is being evaluated, and no one is staying in the room and the bed is gotten rid of. As well, the room had numerous roaches and nats.
All and all, the experience was devastating. I have NEVER had skin issues nor have I ever had any type of bed bug, as I am a stickler for tidiness and cleanliness.
Please assist me, Wade S Curtis, with getting resolve and resitution due to this traumatic experience.

I had a significant reward balance that red-roof purged but offered to reinstate if I stayed 1 day before September 1 2022. I did in fact stay for 4 days on 2 different stays before September 1 2022. I not only did not have my rewards reinstated but did not get my rewards for the other 4 days on 2 stays. I have called numerous times and am told they will escalate this for customer service and get back within 48 hours. I have received no further contact from red-roof. I have been a regular customer for over 20 years and don't think this is good policy by the company. I can only guess that based on the deteriorating conditions at the hotels I have stayed at recently that the company has changed hands or are in financial straights. I am very disappointed.

State of cleanliness of the room
My fiancée, daughter (5), and I were on our way back to Oklahoma from Texas on 8/5/22 and had car trouble in Ardmore, Oklahoma. The Red Roof Inn was visible from where we were, so I called for availability and secured a non-smoking room for the three of us to stay in while we waited for our tow. Our daughter has a severe smoke allergy, so the non-smoking room was vitally important to us. When we arrived, my fiancée went to check us in and get our room key. We went to the room, and immediately, upon opening the door, were struck with a STRONG smell of both cigarette and marijuana. As this was the only room available at the Inn, we had no choice but to remain in that room. As I walked through the room, there were several indications that the room had not been cleaned, in addition to obviously being smoked in. The receipt from the previous occupant was on the Direct TV box, there was a bottle of cleaning solution next to that, the beds had not been cleaned, there were fingerprints on the counters and cabinets, toothpaste spattered on the mirror, the walls looked like someone had spilled a dark beverage all over them, there was incense sticks sticking out of one of the wall, cigarette burns on the floor, and our shoes literally stuck to the floor with every step we took. I called the desk clerk up, took photos, she took photos, and we were told that the manager would be in that night and we would be refunded not only our $50.00 deposit, but also the $81.21 for the room fee, due to the horrifying condition it was left in, and that we were there for less than four hours. I did not receive a call that night, nor did I receive a call in the two following days. I attempted to call and speak with the manager of that location this morning, and was hung up on twice, and now my calls go straight to a voicemail. I work in customer service, and this behavior is completely unacceptable to me.
Desired outcome: I just want the money back for the room that we were in for 4 hours. Employees of the hotel stated they wouldn't even stay in that room in the condition it was in. The receipt on the Direct box belongs to the previous tenant.
I was accused of stealing a pillow and charged $15 on my credit card
July 31, 2022 I checked out of the Lewisville TX Red Roof Inn around 6am. I received a call at 9:30 accusing me of stealing a pillow and to return it or I would be charged. He said there were 3 pillows and now there are only 2. I said there were only 2 when we went in and there were 2 when we left. I offered to pull over and take a picture of my car to prove to him but his only response was return the pillow or I would be charged. I said this is my last day of traveling and I will be home tonight and can sleep on my nice pillow why would I want to take his crappy one. I said let me see video of me stealing the pillow. I did not steal the pillow. This is just a scam. I told him to check with housekeeping. I'll never go into a hotel room again without taking a picture beforehand. I've cancelled my credit card and filed a dispute. $15 is no big deal but its the principle of the thing. And i'm sure that is what they are counting on, people not pursuing it.
Desired outcome: I would like the scam artist fired so that this doesn't happen to anyone else.

We arrived on on the 22nd was giving a room that smelled like smoke. We were moved to another room. The bathroom window was held in by screws.
The room was dirty pictures included. The TV was nothing but snow and if we could have gone somewhere else we would have. The snack box we received had 4 snack bars. We understood it would have chips, popcorn, candy and snack bars. Your inn was disappointing to say the lest.

I would as so much rather sleep in my car then stay at this pit. Prostitutes, drug dealings going on right in front of children. The staff is rude, always giving me a hard time and the gm made me leave over problems I had nothing to do with practically. They don’t come in a clean yiur rooms, no room service, have to buy own toilet paper and over all it’s a dump. When you see it, keep on driving. Not worth your time!

My husband and I are traveling from north carolina to new york to see family. We stopped for the night at 10:30 and grabbed a room at red roof inn on 81 in carlisle pa on cook dr off harrisburg pike. We stayed in room 135. When we arrived we didn’t expect much, it’s a quick stop. However… it should not look like it does. Rust all over the faucets, paint peeling everywhere, the laminate floor is sticky, the hallway carpet had leaves, dirt, debris and large sticks all over it, it too was sticky.
The kicker though, the absolute over the edge part…. Dog feces on the floor outside our door!
My husband left our room before we settled in, to get water for us. When he opened the room door, there was a pile of dog crap that was not there 5 minutes prior when we walked into the room! Disgusting!
He made his way down the stairs and told the front desk clerk. All she said was “nice”. She made no mention to clean it or to send someone up to clean it.
As I stated, we didn’t expect much from just a quick pop off the highway to get some sleep before finishing our trip, but damn, where’s the standard? Who monitors these hotels? How often are they checked for quality assurance?!?! If how this place looks is the standard at which red roof has set, then it’s no surprise there was dog [censored] outside our room.
Shameful! If I was red roof management or owner, I would be ashamed to lay claim to this chain.
I’m quite curious what red roof inn will do to make this right and try to please the customer.

This place is completely unclean and unacceptable!
First of all the coil of the side of the filthy mattress in my room was sticking out and scratched my leg — breaking the top of the skin with a little blood. I went to the office the next morning and they filed an incident report and said I did not have to pay for the last night — I should have received the entire 3 day stay refunded to me and more (I was injured)! 1
We are in the midst of a pandemic and the condition of this place is unclean, unhealthly and unacceptable for anyone to stay!

We feel so strongly about our miserable experience at your establishment that we feel compelled to write for a full refund.
My wife and I booked a room at the Madison Heights 32511 Concord Drive location for 4 nights to visit family due to recent deaths. When we pulled up at the location, the first thing we saw were shipping containers. Not a good feeling. We entered the lobby and checked in. Went to our room I was hit in the nose by a stale moldy old smell. The air conditioner/heater unit was LOUD. When I sat on the mattress it was awful, old and compressed spring mattress. Due to the condition of it, it appeared to have never been rotated. The carpet was only in front of the door, and the flooring was sticky and tacky, has it been cleaned recently? The walls were marred and the condition was not up to the Red Roof Inn standard I have experienced in the past. I checked with my travel agent and trip advisor and they were given a 4+ star, this must be an error… I will be contacting my travel agent. I am sorry, my room/stay was 1 star at best. Trash was everywhere outside. Also, no phone in the room.
When we checked in we asked for 2 additional pillows as they were only providing one per person. The agent Derek told us they were unable to provide the additional pillows the first night, because they may need to rent the room that had pillows. He asked for us to come back the next day to get some pillows.
The next day, my wife went to the lobby to get coffee (NO coffee maker in room) and the clerk was behind the window and did not even look up when my wife went in. The coffee from the lobby carafe was lukewarm. When my wife had to knock on the window to get the clerk’s attention she mentioned the cold coffee to the clerk and was told that the coffee was made 2 hours previously. Again, mention was made re: pillows and we were told to come back after 10 am as that is when the laundry lady came in.
The next morning when making the third attempt to obtain additional pillows I spoke to the front desk manager Amanda and asked for the pillows. The coffee that morning was an improvement, but not very good. But it was much hotter than the first morning. She was very helpful and embarrassed by the poor coffee, receptionist and having no pillows. She told us there would be two pillows at the front desk waiting for us with our room number. After our day, we returned to the office and there were no pillows for room 153, only room 116. We asked what could be done and Derek went into another room and gave us the pillows for our 3rd night after telling him we spoke with Amanda.
I asked for another room with better conditions, I asked to be transferred to another nearby Red Roof with better conditions and was denied. I asked for a refund or anything that could be done to make my experience pleasant.
There is a large poster in the lobby that offers the Hassle-Free guarantee as posted in your lobby. Please honor it.

My nightmare at the Red Roof Inn Plus in Westbury
On March 8, 2022, I called the Red Roof Inn Plus to reserve a block of rooms for my daughter’s wedding. I was told that I had to contact Group Sales to reserve more than 9 rooms. I was given a phone number and I called Groups at Red Roof and spoke with Alexia. I requested 10 rooms. I was given a block number and I personally reserved 4 rooms for the wedding party for 1 night. June 18 -June 19, 2022. Alexia told me that there could be 4 people per room. There were 14 people in the wedding party so they would sleep 3 in 2 rooms and 4 in 2 rooms. I was told that guests could call and give block number to make reservation and receive special pricing then pay anyway that they wanted when checking in.
On May 4, 2022, Alexia emailed me that there was an error. The block number should be XXX She apologized for her error and assured me that everything would remain the same.
On May 6, 2022, I called group sales to change 1 of the reserved wedding party rooms to a 2-night stay. I spoke with Lauren. She assured me that there would be no problem and she sent me an email with the departure date 6/20/2022.
On June 18, 2022, I arrived at the Red Roof Plus for check in. I was told that all rooms need to be paid at check in and they do not accept cash. I knew that some of the bridal party was expecting to pay in cash because I told them that they could use any form of payment upon arrival, so I paid for 4 Rooms. One night.
June 19, 2022- Wedding Day
The entire wedding party put all their belongings into Room 533 before 10 am and headed to the ceremony. I checked out 3 of the 4 rooms and told the clerk that I would return to settle my account after the reception. It was rushed because the wedding was at 11:30 am.
At 1:02 pm I received a call from the Red Roof Plus. I didn’t answer. At 1:05 I called the Red Roof Inn and was told that Room 533 had not been emptied. I said that that was the room with the additional night. The young lady said that they had no record of an additional night. I told her that I was at my daughter’s wedding reception and that I would find the email in my phone and call her back. I called back at 1:16 and gave her the Block Number and Email date and information. I offered to forward the email to Red Roof Plus. She told me that the info that I provided seemed Bogus because their reservation numbers don’t contain letters. Again, I told her that I was at my daughter’s reception. I told her that I would return after the ceremony to settle things around 5pm.
At 1:18 the clerk called me back and said that 5:00 would be too late because they have a fully booked hotel and that because my reservation was not in their system that they would remove the items and reclaim their room. I was devastated. I stayed for about 10 minutes then proceeded to the hotel. My daughters Godmother and another friend accompanied me. When I got to the lobby, I showed both the clerks the email with the departure date 6/20/2022. She repeated that they don’t have it in their system and that whoever scheduled it at group sales made the mistake.
We asked for a manager. There was none on site. We asked that they call someone, anyone that could provide a solution. They refused. I asked if I could pay for another room? I was told no. They were rude, uncaring, smug, and disrespectful. We explained that this was a wedding and that the bride and groom would be returning to this hotel. They didn’t care. I asked why I should be penalized for the Red Roof Plus booking agents’ error? They refused to answer and at one point the young man said that he refused to discuss it any further. It was a nightmare. I asked for the key to room 533 and we went up with 3 luggage carts to empty the room. My brother called at 2:03 angry and concerned because we were missing it. The father of the bride called at 2:05 and offered to come help. We packed everything in my small Hyundai Elantra and returned to the reception. I had to pretend that nothing was wrong because I didn’t want to ruin their special day. It was obvious that I was missing but most guests didn’t know why. I missed the wedding party entrance and introduction, my entrance and introduction, the Father Daughter Dance, The Groom and Mother Dance, the Toast by Maid of Honor and Best Man, Cocktail Hour and Dinner was ending when I returned. The Red Roof Plus stole my participation and memories of my daughter’s wedding. I can never get that back.

On May 25th I bought airline tickets to Orlando, Florida. With the airline tickets was an offer of hotel stays. We choose to stay in Red Roof Inn Orlando, Florida. I paid a 50 dollar deposit and asked the lady when will it refund back to my card. She said after you leave the hotel it maybe take a week or so. It is now June 21st, 2022. I have called the hotel on several occasions. No answer just a few words on a recorded message saying that you could not leave any messages because it was full. I called Red Roof customer complaint line several times. They switched me over to customer relations. I have documented several peoples names and times. Last person I talked to said she would send it to the supervisor for review. Still waiting...In a conversation with one of the representatives he said maybe because it was a 3rd party. Well go figure I wished they had told me that when paying online. I would have never worked with a 3rd party. I assumed the card information was going straight to the hotel. I won't stop calling these people until I am heard.

I booked a room for my daughter at your Greenwood, Indiana location.
Your manager decided to conduct an unannounced room check at 8am when my daughter and her boyfriend had a day to sleep in.
And again when they were at dinner with her agent leaving the door ajar.
Your manager should be fired. It is unlawful to enter someone's room without consent.
