Beware of Reservations.com: Hidden Fees and Scam Tactics!
I recently booked a hotel room with Reservations.com and was initially pleased to see that they were offering a room for $40 cheaper than other sites. However, when I filled in the forms and clicked to pay, I was shocked to find that I was charged $80 more than their listed price!
After managing to get through to their "customer support," I asked for an explanation and was told that it was all in the T&C's and that they charge a booking fee. I have no problem with paying a reasonable booking fee, but the amount should be made clear on the Room Rate page, not hidden in the 11,551 words of their so-called T&C's!
If you read a word a second of the T&C's, it would take you over 3 HOURS to read! Who has time for that?
When I expressed my displeasure, the customer service representative was keen to cancel my booking, but I noted that if the booking was cancelled, there would be no refund at all. So, how would that help me? I repeated my displeasure, but was repeatedly asked if I wanted to cancel the booking. I wasn't going to fall into that trap, so I said no and left it at that.
After looking online to see if anyone else had a problem with them, I found that Reservations.com has perfected this scam. They offer rooms $30 to $40 less than other websites, but when you click to pay, you are charged hidden fees and end up paying $30 to $40 more than other websites!
If that's not bad enough, if you complain, they automatically cancel your room and take your money anyway! It's the perfect scam!
To make matters worse, some people have turned up at hotels to find that they haven't been booked in, even though they have a Booking Confirmation from Reservations.com. Then they either have to pay again or find another hotel!
No matter which way you look at it, thousands of people have been ripped off!
Luckily for me, my buddy lives in Orlando where they have a "registered address." He won't be knocking on their door, but he will be registering a complaint with the local police department in Orlando. Additionally, as this scam is repeatedly operated across state lines, it will be brought to the attention of the FBI.
With that in mind, it will help to refer them to Sitejabber to get an idea of how often this scam is being perpetrated.
If you have been affected, add your name to the list. I will keep everyone informed.
The bottom line is, don't touch these guys with a flagpole!
Beware of Reservations.com: My Frustrating Experience with Booking a Hotel Online
I just want to warn everyone about my experience with Reservations.com. My family and I had a difficult time as we had to travel 8 hours to my uncle's house after his passing. We needed to take care of things and then we decided to stay at the Fairfield Inn. While waiting for the woman at the front desk to finish her phone call, I decided to book our stay online. I searched for Fairfield Inn in Jacksonville, NC on Google and clicked on the first link that came up. Little did I know that it was not the official website of the hotel, but Reservations.com.
I made a mistake, I know, but the circumstances were tough. I booked our stay and showed the confirmation to the woman at the front desk. However, when she checked the reservation, it showed that we had booked two rooms for two nights in Florida instead of one room for one night in North Carolina. I immediately called Reservations.com to explain the situation and request a refund. It was a struggle to communicate with the representative, but she eventually told me that they would refund me the money in the morning when their business office opened.
The next day, I called again to verify the refund, but I was transferred several times and even got disconnected a few times. Finally, I spoke to someone who told me that they needed to contact the hotel first before processing the refund. I waited for a few days, but still, there was no refund. I felt scammed and frustrated. I advise everyone to be careful when booking online and avoid Reservations.com if possible.
Update: I continued to follow up with Reservations.com, but they kept telling me that they couldn't get in touch with the manager at the Fairfield Inn in Jacksonville. I decided to call the hotel myself and spoke to Amanda, who was very helpful and agreed to a full refund. I called Reservations.com again and was put on hold for 30 minutes before speaking to a representative. She told me that they would expedite the refund to the hotel's management, but it was unlikely that they would agree to it. I informed her that I had spoken to Amanda and she had agreed to the refund. After being put on hold again, the representative finally processed the refund for $533.08.
However, I received two emails for $266.54 each, which made me suspicious that they might not have refunded the full amount. I will have to wait and see, but if they haven't, I will file a complaint with my credit card company. Overall, my experience with Reservations.com was frustrating and stressful, and I would not recommend them to anyone.
Terrible Experience with Reservations.com at MGM Grand Signature in Las Vegas
I recently booked a room at the MGM GRAND SIGNATURE in Las Vegas, Nevada for my wedding through reservations.com. My arrival date was September 30,2021 and my departure was October 4,2021. However, my experience with reservations.com was far from satisfactory.
When I booked the room, the representative informed me that I would have to pay a $60 essential fee upon arrival. However, when I reached the hotel, I was charged a whopping $300 essential fee. This was the first lie that I was told. To make matters worse, when I settled into my room, I noticed that the linen had dried blood and the headboard had dried human body secretions on it. I immediately called the concierge, but they told me that I had to contact reservations.com since I had booked through them.
I contacted reservations.com multiple times, but every time I explained my disappointment, they hung up on me. Each time I called back, I spoke with someone different, and they blamed it on bad connections. Despite all my efforts, they did nothing to resolve the issue. Finally, I called housekeeping, and the supervisor moved me to another room immediately. She also promised to refund me $175, but I have yet to receive my refund even though it's November 9,2021. They put the refund on a ghost card, and I'm still waiting for it to be credited to my credit card.
To add insult to injury, there were no dishes in the room, and I had guests coming over. When I asked for dishes to be delivered to the room, I was told that I would have to pay $45 for it. I agreed to pay the amount, but then they refused to bring the dishes because of some dispute between the hotel and the owner of the condo. They told me to go buy paper plates and cups, which was extremely disappointing.
Despite all the issues I faced, I tried to make the best of my wedding and prepared for it. However, I was extremely disappointed with the service provided by reservations.com. I made a formal complaint to them and even called with the housekeeping supervisor on the phone to ensure that I received my refund. However, I have yet to receive it, and they keep giving me lame excuses about the time it takes for them to investigate and process the request.
In conclusion, I would strongly advise against booking with reservations.com. Their customer service is deplorable, and they have no integrity. I have pictures of the dirty linen and headboard, but they have not accommodated me at all. I explained to them that this was my wedding, but they did nothing to make it special. If you want to avoid disappointment, do not book with them.
Beware of Reservations.com: Misleading Website and Dishonest Practices
This company is not trustworthy at all.
I recently made a reservation through Reservations.com, thinking that I was booking directly with Holiday Inn Reservations. Their website looks almost identical to the Holiday Inn website, which is very misleading. I received a confirmation email and number, and I headed to my business meeting, which was across the street from the hotel.
When I arrived at the hotel, I was surprised to find out that they had no record of my reservation. The manager informed me that only half of the hotel was full and that they had plenty of rooms available. However, I would have to pay for the room again because Reservations.com had not forwarded any money to the hotel. I immediately called their customer service, but it took over an hour to get through to someone. Meanwhile, my wife reserved a room on the same credit card we gave Reservations.com.
The price of the room was $40 higher than the normal rate for that Holiday Inn, which I had stayed at before. The person on the phone told me that it was their last room available, and I didn't want to be late for my meeting, so I left to check in at the hotel. When my wife finally got through to someone at Reservations.com, they told her that the hotel was fully booked and that they had booked us at the Hilton, which was 17 miles away. I am a Hilton Awards member and get government rates, so I would never pay $187.00 for a room when I can get it for $67.00. I would never have agreed to this arrangement, and the company did not even try to contact me about the switch to a cheaper hotel.
I ended up paying $123.00 for the room, including taxes and fees, and the company issued an immediate refund after Visa threatened to file charges. The fraud department of my bank also called them because they posted four charges of $19.99 with no explanation of what they were for. Any charges should have been included in the room rate.
The manager of the hotel confirmed that they were not even close to being fully booked when a Reservations.com associate called them. I also joined the Holiday Inn Awards Club, which now accompanies my Hilton and Marriott memberships.
My advice is to never use this service. It is very dishonest, and they will mislead you into thinking that you are booking directly with the hotel. They also charge higher rates than the hotel's normal rates. It is not worth the hassle and stress that comes with dealing with this company.
My Experience with Reservations.com: Frustration and Resolution
I recently had an experience with reservations.com that left me feeling a bit frustrated. I was planning a trip to Alaska and wanted to book an extra night at the first hotel on my tour. I searched online for the hotel and thought I had found their phone number, but it turned out to be reservations.com.
The representative I spoke with had a bit of an accent, which made it difficult for me to understand him at times. He assured me that he had taken note of my request to stay in the same room on the tour and the extra night. However, when he quoted me the final price, I was surprised to see that it was almost $50 more than what I had seen online for the same room. He explained that there were fees and taxes, but I was only seeing about $13 in taxes online.
Feeling frustrated, I decided to book the room online at the cheaper rate. However, when I received the confirmation email, I noticed a $14.99 service charge that the representative on the phone had never mentioned. I called reservations.com to cancel the reservation and spoke with a representative who said they would not refund the service fee. I asked to speak with a manager and was told I would receive a call back, but it never happened.
I decided to email customer service and received a quick reply that they would get back to me. A few hours later, I received another email saying they would refund everything except the service fee. I explained that the representative had never mentioned the fee and hoped they would do what was right. The next day, I received an email saying the service fee would be refunded, and it was posted to my credit card the following day.
While I was frustrated with the situation, I was grateful that reservations.com ultimately did the right thing. It was important to me that they were transparent about all fees and charges, and I was glad they refunded the service fee. I had read some negative reviews before contacting them, but I encourage other travelers to remain calm and polite when dealing with customer service issues. It's important to stand your ground and fight for what you know is right. Good luck to others!
Reservations.com Review: Total Rip-Off Scam - Avoid at All Costs!
I gotta say, Reservations.com is a total rip-off. I mean, if I could give them a big fat ZERO, I would. They're just out to scam people and take their money.
So here's what happened to me: I thought I was booking a 5-night stay at a Marriott Hotel in Ft. Bragg, CA, but it turned out to be Ft. Bragg, NC. My bad, I know, but when I called Reservations.com to fix it, they basically told me tough luck. They said it wasn't their problem and that I was out of luck. I had paid $808 plus their $19.99 fee, and I couldn't afford to just throw that kind of money away. But they didn't care. They said there was a NO REFUND POLICY, even though my reservation was for three months from now.
When I tried to cancel my reservation, their recording told me to push 1 if my arrival date was more than seven days away, or push 2 if it was within the next seven days. But then it told me to wait until seven days before my arrival date to call back. That's ridiculous! I'm being charged interest on my credit card for this purchase, and it's not fair to make it impossible for me to get a refund.
So I called my credit card company, but they couldn't cancel the charge because Reservations.com's confirmation said the reservation was non-refundable. I was stuck.
But then I called the Marriott Hotel in Ft. Bragg, NC, and the general manager, Michaela Stevens, was amazing. She called Reservations.com with me and spent 30 minutes on the phone to straighten things out. And guess what? Reservations.com finally agreed to refund my money (minus their stupid service fee). But I never would have gotten my money back if it weren't for Michaela Stevens. She was shocked at how Reservations.com treats its customers.
And get this: the Marriott Hotel in Ft. Bragg, NC, has a 72-hour cancellation policy, not a NO REFUND policy like Reservations.com claimed. They lied to me!
I hope this review helps someone else avoid getting ripped off by Reservations.com. I've been booking hotels and flights online for over a decade, and I've never had an experience like this. It's just not right.
UPDATE May 2021: I finally got my refund (minus Reservations.com's cancellation fee) after SIX MONTHS. I think the only reason I got my money back is because I posted reviews on this site and the Better Business Bureau. It's just not worth the hassle.
Reservations.com Review: A Scam Website That Misleads Customers
In my experience, I have to say that Reservations.com is not a trustworthy website. I live in Canada and was looking to book a hotel in a Canadian city. When I searched for the hotel name on Google, the first link that came up was Reservations.com. At first glance, the website looked like the hotel's official website, but it turned out to be a scam.
Firstly, the website is designed to look like the hotel's website, which is misleading. It doesn't look like a normal reservations website like Booking.com or Trip-advisor. This is the first scam.
Secondly, the website has a poor rating on multiple sites, and yet it appears at the top of Google search. This is suspicious, and I believe they have paid people to bump them up to the highest position on Google search. This is the second scam.
Thirdly, the website shows prices in $. Not C$, not US$. Just $. This is unusual because every other booking site I've used from Canada (Trip-Advisor, Booking.com) displays the price in C$ for Canadian hotels automatically. This is the third scam.
Fourthly, the price they showed included only the hotel fee. Not taxes. Not their booking fees. No breakdown. Just the daily hotel fee. This is misleading because when people reach the payment input page, they assume the $ shown is the payment amount. This is the fourth scam.
Fifthly, genuine businesses process transactions in the following steps: (a) Inputting payment data on the 'Payment Data Input' page, & Enter, (b) The next page is usually a 'Payment Confirmation Request' page, with a full analysis of total costs, asking for final confirmation. This is the page people review their intended transaction before accepting. Hit Enter. (c) Only after that is the transaction complete, & a 'Payment Confirmation' issued. However, for Reservations.com, there is no step (b). Hitting Enter on (a) completes the transaction, & (c) the 'Payment is Confirmed' is displayed. This is the fifth scam.
Sixthly, it is only on the 'Payment Confirmed' page that one realizes (1) The total is in U$, not C$ and (2) the total costs are far more than what they had shown. This page also says their service fee of U$19.99 is non-refundable. This is the sixth scam.
Lastly, when I phoned in to cancel my booking right after I made it, they informed me that I am cancelling within the penalty period, so I will be charged around U$199 instead of $19.99. This is not fair because in most proper sites, the penalty kicks in if cancelling less than 24 hours before the check-in date. I wanted to cancel nearly seven days before check-in, yet they refused. This is the final scam.
Overall, I am disgusted with Reservations.com. From a short 3-day business trip for one person, which I was tricked to believe would cost me C$300, I am now dishing out around C$550. I would rate them zero or negative stars if I could. They are the sort of sites that make you want to persuade Internet Gurus to add a negative star button.
In my opinion, Reservations.com is a scam website. They mislead customers by not showing the full price prominently before payment and not allowing a Confirmation Request page. I will investigate if it is even legal to do so.
Disappointing Experience with Reservations.com: Hidden Fees and Poor Customer Service
I gotta say, reservations.com is not the best booking service out there. I thought I was booking directly with the hotel, but turns out I was talking to reservations.com. I reserved three rooms for my agency's upcoming business trip using our business credit card, but the confirmation and receipt emails never arrived. When I called back to request them, I was transferred around and around until I was finally put on hold for a whopping 45 minutes!
After multiple calls and transfers, I finally got someone who could check for my reservation and correct my email address. But that's not all - turns out reservations.com charged me a booking fee of $14.99 for each room reservation, which I had no idea about until I saw the charge on my agency's credit card statement. When I called back to request a receipt for the booking fees, I was transferred around even more until I was told that reservations.com doesn't have a phone number and I could only communicate with them online or by email.
So began a series of frustrating email exchanges where I explained that I needed a receipt for each booking fee charge, but was given excuse after excuse as to why they couldn't fulfill my request. Finally, after sending them a screenshot of my credit card statement, they sent me the receipts - but without the booking fee charges! It took even more emails and escalations to finally get the receipts with the charges included.
Overall, my experience with reservations.com was a headache and a half. I learned my lesson to always confirm who I'm talking to and booking with, and I definitely won't be using reservations.com again. I just hope that when my agency's people arrive at the hotel, everything will be in order.
Terrible Experience with Reservations.com: Misquotes, Price Changes, and Poor Customer Service
I gotta say, I had a pretty bad experience with reservations.com. Like, seriously, it was the worst agency EVER. I'm not even kidding, they're a bunch of scammers.
So, here's what happened. My friend Alana called me up to tell me about this great deal she got on a one night stay at Comfort Inn hotel. She was quoted $111.00 an evening, which sounded pretty good to me. I needed to book three hotel rooms for a big party, so I called up reservations.com to make the arrangements. And let me tell you, it was a total disaster.
The guy I spoke with on the phone was completely clueless. He misquoted me several times, put me on hold for ages, and had no idea what he was talking about when I asked him questions about the hotel. It took me seventeen minutes just to book two rooms, and during that time he kept changing the prices on me. I asked him for the Canadian price, and he told me $130 for room one, $130 for the second room, and $145 for the third room. I wrote those prices down and messaged my friends to let them know.
But then, over the next fifteen minutes, he kept putting me on hold and taking forever to get back to me. I asked him what was taking so long, since I didn't have any special requests or anything. Finally, I told him to call me back when he had a confirmation number for the third room.
When he called me back (for the third time!), he gave me three confirmation numbers and told me the total for all three rooms was $361 Canadian. But then my bank called me to say there was suspicious activity on my card, and when I asked the guy why the price had changed, he said he hadn't included taxes. I asked him how there could be an additional $50 PER ROOM in taxes, but he didn't have an answer. He said the third room was saved but not paid for, because my credit card wasn't going through.
At that point, I asked to speak to a supervisor. I'd been on the phone for over an hour just trying to book these rooms and get confirmation numbers, and the prices had changed multiple times. When I finally spoke to the supervisor, all she said was sorry and that she'd listen to the phone calls.
But then, when I checked my bank records, I saw that I'd been charged $423 Canadian, not the $361 I was quoted. I called reservations.com back to complain, and they told me to just wait 5-7 business days for the charges to be refunded. Like, seriously? That's all they had to say? And when the supervisor asked for the confirmation numbers, she could only find two of them. So the guy hadn't even completed my booking properly.
I was so fed up with the whole thing that I called back to cancel the bookings. In total, I was on the phone for over 2 and a half hours. How is that even okay? Why was I mistreated like that? And why is there no accountability at reservations.com?
Honestly, if this is how they run their company, I'm going to tell everyone I know not to use them. I feel like I was scammed on so many levels, and I was never offered any support or help with any of the issues I had. It was a complete nightmare, and I hope someone at reservations.com takes responsibility for what happened.
Unleashing the Power of Creativity: A Review of 'The War of Art' by Steven Pressfield
WORST EVER! Thought I was making a reservation with the hotel direct... to my surprise it wasn't. I was also VERY surprised to have the full reservation charged to my credit card. I carefully reviewed the cancellation policy before I made the reservation as well as on the reservation confirmation. BOTH CLEARLY STATED the reservation was 100% refundable (see below). Once I learned the reservation was NOT made directly with the hotel I tried cancelling on line it told me NONE of the reservation was refundable if cancelled which as you can imagine was extremely concerning! I then called the reservation # and spoke to the same lady with the very strong accent... she told me she needed to review the cancellation policy, which was very strange! Why would an employee of reservations.com need to read a cancellation policy, are they not all the same? I then told her I had a copy and she said that didn't matter, she needed to read and I would experience a period of silence! Well it was a very long period of silence, I could have read a book in the amount of time it took her. She finally came back and told me my reservation was 100% NON-refundable! I again explained that I read the cancellation policy at the time I made the reservations, and also had the actual reservation confirmation which THEY (RESERVATIONS.COM) send me and it clearly stated no change or cancellation fee if cancelled by the date specified (see below). She then told me to call the hotel directly, which I knew would not benefit me at all, as they will refer me back to where the reservation was originally made. I demanded to speak with a supervisor, he finally came on the line and he too told me his records show its 100% non-refundable. I asked several times, why the reservation confirmation I have states differently and he told me he has no idea. He finally said he would need to call his support team, I asked who that was & he said a company higher than him! WTF I THEN asked if he worked for reservation.com and he told me yes I work WITH them. I said that wasn't my question, my question was "do you WORK FOR reservations.com"... I also told him the call was being recorded. He continued say WITH. Such a scam! I then asked if he had a copy of my reservation and confirmation in front of him. He said YES, I asked why didn't he just review that in the beginning. I insisted that he read out loud what the cancellation policy stated on my confirmation in front of him... He reluctantly read it to me (see below). After he finished reading I asked him why there was ANY question at all regarding my reservation being fully refundable, he told me that's NOT what his records show and that his records show its 50% refundable. On a positive note they went from 100% to 50%. Mind you... my total was $16,218 PLUS their $14.99 for a grand total of $16,232.99. You can see why I was SO careful reviewing the cancellation policy before making the reservation! After nearly 25 minutes he came back and said they agreed to make an exception due to conflicting information on their website! I didn't have the energy to ask what he meant by that, as the only conflicting information was the information he supposedly was reading in front of him. After 67 minutes and 38 seconds I finally received cancellation confirmations for all 5 rooms. He reassured me the credit would be processed in 10-15 business days. He also told me he was willing to credit me back the $14.99 for MY confusion! I don't get it! I confirmed his first name, when I asked for his last name he told me they are not allowed to give last names. I then asked for some other proof I spoke to him and he gave me his employee # (FRANK - EMPLOYEE # 63058). After spending 67 minutes and 38 seconds of my life, which I will NEVER get back, on the phone with the most corrupt individuals I can understand why they wouldn't want to give their last names, they are worried someone will find them! I wouldn't recommend reservations.com to my worst enemy! I CAN'T believe the Federal Trade Commission nor Better Business Bureau hasn't anything to put these crooks out of business!

I made a reservation for a 1 night stay at Sleep Inn at Fayetteville, NC when I got there there was no reservation under my name.
I booked 2 rooms on 8/12/23 for a 1 night stay on 9/9/23 at the Sleep Inn at Fayetteville, NC. Reservation #R1830779916, Itinerary #[protected] and Reservation #R333976709, Itinerary #[protected]. When I arrived at the Sleep Inn there were no reservations under my name. I called them and they then called the Sleep Inn and wanted me to go to another hotel. I refused to change hotels and they said that they would cancel my reservations and refund me the money in 7 to 10 days and that they were sending me an email confirming this. I have yet to receive that email. I had to pay for the 2 rooms at the Sleep Inn, so at this point I paid twice for these 2 rooms. Please help me with this issue. Thank you.
Desired outcome: I want this site to return my payment that they scammed me on.
Emotional stress
I receive a confirmation on 8/4/23 for stay on 8/12-13. When my family and I got there at Quality In in Waterbury Ct (came from Brooklyn NY), the motel had no reservation for us or available room. After hours of trying to reach reservation.com, a representation said they booked the wrong motel and would give me a refund.
It's now Sept.23 and I am told they will give me a refund because the motel told them I was a "no show". I called the motel who confirmed they did not have a reservation for me. They are still refusing to refund me. Quality Inn is saying it is Reservation.com fault and reservation.com is blaming the motel. I spoke to 2 representatives and a manager and the motel.
I WILL NEVER BOOK THROUGH RESERVATION.COM AGAIN OR STAY AT QUALITY INN.
Desired outcome: I want to be refunded the money I was charged for their mistake.
Full refund of $342.00
I booked what I thought were reservations directly through hotel. I was driving home day before I was traveling. My son called to say he has covid and to cancel trip. I called hotel and canceled without fees, etc. However, they said I need to cancel with Reservations.com. I said no, I booked directly through hotel website. They said no. I was flabbergasted that I was redirected to their website. I called Reservations.com at 4:45 PM and they said I would be charged full amount because deadline was 4:00 PM. I couldn't believe my ears that they would charge me. I didn't even know I booked through them to begin with.

Beware of Reservations.com: A Classic Bait-and-Switch Internet Scam
Reservations.com is located at 1390 N Orange Ave, Orlando, Fl. 32836. I had a terrible experience with this company and believe they are running an internet scam. The way it works is that when you want to reserve a room in a particular city, you search for it on the internet. A web page appears with the name of the hotel you want to book, so you make the reservation. In my case, the advertised cost on that fake web site indicated $99 a night. However, after paying for the reservation, I received an email confirmation from reservations.com with a charge of $133.56. I was confused and wondered where reservations.com got involved and why the charge was higher than the advertised price.
When I called reservations.com to cancel, the woman who answered the phone had a Pakistani accent and asked if I had read their cancellation policy. I had no idea that I was booking through reservations.com, so I had no knowledge of any cancellation policy. She told me that there was a fee to cancel and that I would still have to pay $14.99. To make matters worse, I found the actual hotel web page and discovered that the rooms could be rented for only $80 a night. This is a classic bait-and-switch operation by reservations.com, and it's not fair to consumers.
I filed a complaint with the Attorney General's Office in Florida over this scam. However, unless other people who have been ripped off by reservations.com follow up with their own complaint, reservations.com will continue to run their scam. The owner/operators of this internet scam need to be prosecuted and thrown into prison. If you've been burned by reservations.com, don't just sit there and complain. Get off your butt and file a complaint with the AG's office in Florida. You can do that on the internet. Let's put these scammers into prison!
I'm also sending a complaint to the US AG's office because of this nationwide scam. I encourage you to do the same. Send your complaint to the US Department of Justice at 950 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, Re: Internet Scam Complaint, Washington, D.C. 20530. It's time to take action against companies like reservations.com who are taking advantage of consumers.
Reservations.com: Profit Over Customer Service
I gotta say, this company is a real piece of work. I accidentally booked a hotel through Reservations.com when I thought I was on the actual hotel's website. Apparently, this is a common mistake because these companies like Reservations.com, Priceline, and Travelocity show up when you Google search for a specific hotel. That's mistake number one, if you ask me.
Then, I accidentally booked the hotel for the wrong day. I needed it on the 10th, but I made the reservation for the 9th. By the time I realized my mistake, I had already passed the cancellation date and time. I figured I could just modify the reservation for a day later, but nope. Reservations.com considers modifications to be the same as cancellations. They told me this over and over again, like a broken record.
I tried to get a refund because their policy doesn't say anything about modifications, only cancellations. They told me they would work on refunding me if I could provide proof from the hotel that they were willing to reimburse me. They sent me the same script in an email asking for a statement from the hotel saying they would refund me. They even said I could give them a contact person to call and verify the hotel's willingness to reimburse me. I gave them the contact person, but they said it wasn't enough. It was like talking to a brick wall.
Anyway, the hotel agreed to the refund and even sent an email back and forth with customer service. But Reservations.com made it so difficult for the hotel to make it happen that they eventually gave up and just gave me a reservation for the date I needed without charging me again. Shoutout to La Quinta Inn and Suites in Butte MT for showing what real customer service looks like.
As for Reservations.com, I'll be double-checking myself in the future to make sure I never make this mistake again. And if given the choice, I'll never use them again. It's clear they're only in it for the profit and don't care about helping their customers. Shame on them.
Terrible Customer Service and Hidden Fees: My Experience with Reservations.com
I wrote this review to let everyone know about my experience with Reservations.com. I also posted it on BBB so that more people can see it. I saw some similar stories to mine, but I want to share my experience to warn potential customers not to do business with them.
I was looking for a hotel for a single night and found Reservations.com. I thought it was the hotel's website, but it was actually Reservations.com. I entered my information to get to the billing summary, which was on the far right of the page and hard to see. I accidentally submitted my reservation while trying to pop up the billing summary. I immediately called their call center to cancel the reservation. However, there was a $14.99 service charge, which is ridiculous for using a service portal. I work in the industry, so I know how much these fees should be.
It took over 20 minutes for someone to answer my call. The service I received was terrible. The young man who answered kept putting me on hold without telling me why. I told him I wanted to cancel the reservation and get a refund, but he didn't seem to understand. It took another 20 minutes for him to tell me that the hotel had a 'No cancellation' policy, which I had already told him earlier. I am very unhappy with the customer service of Reservations.com.
I am going to contact the hotel directly to see if I can get the charge reversed. I hope that future users read this review before doing business with them. I don't want anyone else to make the same mistake I did. I lost a little under $20 because it was only for one night, but you could lose a lot more.
Beware of Reservations.com: Misleading and Overcharging Scam
So, me and my husband were trying to book a room at Ameristar and we accidentally ended up on reservations.com. Let me tell you, these guys are a total scam. They make it look like you're booking directly with the hotel, but you're not. They offered us a rate of $259 for the room, which we thought was reasonable. But then, after we put in our credit card info and hit "book," the total charges came back as $371.00! Plus an additional resort fee of $12.99 "Due at Property." We were so mad! We never would have paid that much if we had known. My husband called them right away to try to cancel, but they said it was non-refundable. Can you believe that? We had only booked it 5 minutes ago!
They did offer to cancel the reservation and put in a "request for refund," but they said it would take 7 days and they don't usually refund money. So basically, they were saying, "How about you don't get anything at all for your money and we'll just keep it, only we'll let you know in 7 days." What a racket! They're not providing any service, they're just skimming off the top.
And the worst part is, they're so misleading. They'll get themselves high on the Google results with a heading that looks convincingly like it's the actual hotel. You can't easily see what they're going to charge you. They'll smugly tell you that they showed you before you clicked the very last thing, but we didn't see it and we're used to looking.
They'll charge your credit card from "Travelscape LLC & Reservations.com," but it turns out to be "Benjamin & Brothers LLC DBA: Reservation.com" and they're in Florida. And if the hotel gets the reservation, they apparently won't have any info that it came from these people. I alerted Ameristar that they were doing this, but who knows if anything will come of it.
Anyway, I just wanted to warn you all to watch out for these guys. They're a total scam and I would steer clear.
Terrible Experience with Reservations.com: Lied About Location and Amenities, Scammed Me, and Unhelpful Customer Service
I had a terrible experience with Reservations.com. I tried to book a motel online but was unable to do so. I had to call their customer service and was put on hold for 20 minutes while the clerk looked for a better rate. By the time she returned, the room I wanted was already taken. She then recommended another room for twice the cost. I was in a hurry to book a room as I needed to get to Manitoba to bury my father who had recently passed away. I checked the map provided by Reservations.com and the property was shown near the Walmart center in Regina, Sk. I booked it as it was across the street from where I wanted to stay.
However, upon arrival, I realized that the motel was not where it was shown on the map. It was in the seedy part of town. I could have gotten a better rate if I had walked in off the street. Moreover, it was the same motel my husband and I had stayed at before the pandemic. The thermostat didn't work, the door didn't close properly, and I fell in the tub while taking a shower. We were also kept awake all night by a truck delivering drugs and prostitutes. In fact, the same truck was parked in the parking lot when I arrived.
I immediately left the motel as there was no way I was staying there alone or with anyone else. I contacted Reservations.com and had to speak to a manager as the clerk was not helpful. The manager's first question was if I had spoken to the motel clerk. I reminded her that I had not made the booking with the motel but with Reservations.com. She said that I had agreed to the no refund policy and if the motel was not willing to issue a refund, there was nothing they could do.
I reminded her that Reservations.com had lied about the motel's location and amenities. They had also scammed me by not immediately booking the room I asked for and keeping me on hold until it was no longer available. I also asked how she or anyone could think that the property they recommended to me was appropriate for a single woman or any decent person. She responded that she didn't understand what the lesser was and there was nothing she could do.
Overall, my experience with Reservations.com was terrible. They lied about the motel's location and amenities and scammed me by not immediately booking the room I asked for. The customer service was unhelpful, and the manager didn't understand my concerns. I would not recommend using Reservations.com for booking accommodations.
Unsettling Experience with Reservations.com: Strange Questions and Privacy Concerns
So, I just called this company to book a room in the town where I live. I thought it was the actual hotel website. First off, I could not hardly understand the lady I was talking to. She spoke very broken English. That is not something I would complain about though. The reason for my issues is that when booking a room, she told me the hotel had rooms available. She went trough the typical questions, "how many people in the room, smoking non smoking, one or two beds, etc". I answered all of the questions and when i said there are 2 people,, myself (i am a woman) and my 7 year old child. She asked how old the child was. Not so unusual of a question. I told her 7. She then proceeded to ask if it was a boy or a girl. I thought that a little strange, but answered her anyways... sometimes little boys are roudier than little girls. But then it got REALLY WEIRD! She wanted to know what he looked like. I said, "excuse me?" because I thought maybe I didn't understand the broken English and misunderstood her question. She then said, your little boy, what does he look like? Does he resemble his father, or more feminine like his mother?" I was thrown back by the strange questions. I asked her What? Why? She said again, what does he look like, his build? Like his father or mother? I asked again why would she need to know that information. She laughed and just said she was curious. I couldn't believe what she was asking. I said, Ok, nevermind. I won't be booking a room for this hotel, or through this company. She tried to get me to wait and said she was just curious but I said Bye and hung up. After googling the actual hotel again, I found their number. I called and spoke with the attendant who said that is absolutely NOT something they ask and said it sounded very creepy. She asked me for the number that I called and said that she wanted to make sure that her manager and the owner of the hotel were aware of this. She agreed with me that it was all a little too strange. And to top it all off, she said they were completely booked, and had no available rooms. I wouldn't have stayed there anyway (it is a very nice and reputable hotel), but I didn't know if there was some creep waiting to try to snatch my 7 year old son when we arrived at 10 o'clock at night. I'm still uneasy about it all.
I recently had an experience with Reservations.com that left me feeling uneasy. I called to book a room at a hotel in my town, thinking it was the hotel's website. The lady I spoke to had broken English, which made it difficult to communicate. However, that wasn't the main issue. When I told her I needed a room for myself and my 7-year-old child, she asked if it was a boy or a girl. I thought it was a little strange, but I answered her question. Then things got really weird. She asked me what my child looked like and if they resembled their father or mother. I was taken aback by the strange questions and asked her why she needed to know. She just laughed and said she was curious. I immediately hung up and decided not to book a room through Reservations.com or the hotel.
After Googling the hotel's actual website, I called and spoke to an attendant. She confirmed that the questions I was asked were not something the hotel would ever ask. She even said it sounded creepy. She took down the number I called and said she would make sure the manager and owner were aware of the situation. To make matters worse, the hotel was completely booked and had no available rooms. While I wouldn't have stayed there anyway, I couldn't help but feel uneasy about the whole situation. What if there was someone waiting to snatch my child when we arrived at 10 o'clock at night?
Overall, my experience with Reservations.com was unsettling. The language barrier made it difficult to communicate, and the strange questions I was asked left me feeling uncomfortable. While I understand that mistakes can happen, this was a serious breach of privacy and safety. I hope that Reservations.com takes steps to ensure that this doesn't happen to anyone else.
Avoid Reservations.com: Terrible Customer Service and Website Glitches
So, I gotta tell ya, I accidentally used Reservations.com instead of the actual hotel website and it was a total mess. I was feeling pretty sick and I messed up the website, so that's on me. But let me tell you about what happened next.
I entered all my info, dates, hotel, everything I needed to get my reservations. I saw a low price and clicked on it to reserve my hotel room for September 28th to the 30th. After I entered all my information, including my credit card number, I clicked reserve, only to be told that the price was no longer available. So I clicked back, thinking it would keep everything the same. But apparently, when I went back, they changed the dates on me to Oct. 5th to the 7th. I should have double-checked everything, but I've never had a website change my dates before. I checked out, only to find they charged a 14.95 booking fee that was never mentioned before, but I decided to ignore it. I figured my husband would get a confirmation email with all the details, but it never arrived.
So my husband gets to the hotel tonight to check in, only to learn about the error in dates. Here's where it gets really frustrating. The hotel's computer says that it was booked through Expedia. So he calls them, just to be told that it was booked through Orbitz. Finally, they track down that it was actually booked through Reservations.com. Once he was finally transferred there, he got disconnected. They called him back twenty minutes later, and he finds out that the caller is actually from India.
The woman he talked to was extremely rude, and kept interrupting him while he was trying to explain what happened, eventually telling him that she had told him to wait a minute (when he was the one trying to talk first in the first place.) Then told him that it isn't her fault that he booked the wrong dates (when it was their website that changed them in the first place), but she could see what she could do if he gave her the confirmation number that was sent in the email. BUT HE NEVER RECEIVED THE EMAIL! And, there was no confirmation number given to me when I booked through them in the first place. So, there was nothing they could do.
Luckily, the hotel my husband was trying to stay at was able to switch the reservation on their end. But seriously people. Avoid this website and their $#*!ty customer service. They really need to get their act together.
Beware of Reservations.com: Misleading Search Engine and Hidden Fees
This company, Reservations.com, is not a good one. I've been around for 50 years and I've never dealt with a worse company. They tricked me with their search engine, making me think I was booking directly with the hotel. But after I completed my reservation, I received a confirmation email that showed a higher rate than what I agreed on, fees and taxes that were more than 50% of my rental, and a non-refundable provision.
When I called to complain, they told me that the fees and non-refundable policy were clearly written before I confirmed my reservation. But I've read countless complaints from others who, like me, received no notice of these policies. It seems like they're trying to scam people.
If you're upset like I am, you can file a complaint against them with the Attorney General's office of Florida. It's a quick and easy process. Just go to this link: http://myfloridalegal.com/Contact.nsf/Contact?OpenForm&Section=Consumer_Protection_Division
When you file your complaint, make sure to mention that their site "popped up" while you were trying to make a reservation, the rate advertised was not what you got, there was no advance warning of the fees, there was no advance warning it was not refundable, and the fees assessed were more than 50% of the actual reservation.
This company is registered with the State of Florida as a Seller of Travel, but that doesn't mean they're trustworthy. Their telephone number is ***201 and their email address is ***@reservations.com.
Unethical Practices and Hidden Fees: My Disappointing Experience with Reservations.com
So, I recently had an experience with Reservations.com and let me tell you, it was not a good one. When I called in to make a reservation, they didn't even announce their company name, so I thought I was calling the hotel directly. It wasn't until I received the email confirmation that I realized it was from Reservations.com. I was a bit taken aback by this, but I figured it was just a mistake on my part.
However, things got worse when I realized that they charged me a service fee that they didn't even mention upfront. On top of that, they charged me 10% more for taxes than what the actual hotel would have charged me. When I called to dispute these charges, they made me feel like they were going to investigate and get back to me in 3-5 days. But after 24 days of waiting, I had to call them back myself.
To my surprise, they denied my complaint and refused to refund me anything. Their employees lied to me twice, saying that they charge the same taxes as the hotel, but when the manager emailed me back, she said that the extra cost was for a "tax recovery charge" and a "handling fee." I even sent her a PDF from the hotel's website showing that the taxes were $27 less than what they charged me, but they still refused to refund me.
To make matters worse, the room I ended up with was not what I thought I was booking, and it left me in Nashville feeling disappointed and frustrated. I had to contact my credit card company and dispute the charges. It's a shame that Reservations.com preys on people like me who think they're calling the hotel directly and then ends up stealing money from hard-working consumers.
In conclusion, I would not recommend using Reservations.com for your travel needs. They don't announce their company name when you call, they charge hidden fees, and their employees lie to you. It's a shame that they don't provide good service and instead resort to lying, stealing, and cheating American consumers.
Fraudulent Practices and Inflated Rates: My Terrible Experience with Reservations.com
I had a terrible experience with Reservations.com and I strongly advise against using their services. I believe that Reservations.com should be held accountable for their fraudulent practices. They tricked me into making a reservation on their website, which was designed to look like the Marriott website. They even used Marriott's traveler database information, including my name, address, phone number, and credit card number.
To make matters worse, Reservations.com charged me a grossly inflated rate for the room and added unreasonable booking and cancellation fees. These fees made it very expensive for me to try and fix the situation. If I had booked directly with Marriott, I would have saved a lot of money and avoided all of these extra charges.
When I tried to contact Reservations.com's customer service, they were unhelpful and refused to release the reservation or provide any kind of remedy for their fraudulent behavior. I was left with no choice but to contact Marriott directly. However, even Marriott was unable to find a reservation number attached to the Reservations.com "itinerary" number.
Eventually, the Reservations.com reservation was cancelled, but I was still charged for all of the fraudulent fees. I am currently working with my credit card company to try and resolve this issue.
In conclusion, I strongly advise against using Reservations.com. They cannot be trusted and their fraudulent practices should not be tolerated. Marriott should take action to prevent Reservations.com from using their likeness and image online. After my experience with Reservations.com, I will be very hesitant to book rooms online in the future. Please be careful and avoid Reservations.com at all costs.
Cancellation refund
On 8/16/22 at 10:15 am I booked a room at the Laurel Inn in Salinas, CA when actually I had booked through Reservations.com, when I realized this I cancelled the reservation immediately and received a cancellation confirmation # R1196157566 at 10:38 am. I found out later that the reservation had still been charged to my credit card. I called and was told they had no record of my cancellation so I gave them the # and was told they would check into it. Now after 5 months and 8 calls I was told that I had to cancel before 1am on 8/16/22, how is that even possible since I didn't even make the reservation until 10:15 am on 8/16/22. On 1/6/23 I spoke to supervisor and told him the cancellation confirmation clearly states "Free cancellation until 06 September 2022 09:00 pm (hotel time) Cancellations made after 06 September 2022 09:00 (hotel time) will result in a $201.60 USD fee" And as I clearly cancelled before 9/6/22 I expected a full refund of all charges. ($511.04) As of this time I have not received a response.
Desired outcome: Full refund of all charges
Scam! Do not use them!
They use bait and switch tactics! They promise one price per night and don't give you a total with hidden costs and fees. There is no summary of all the prices. They quoted me a price of $108 per night. I agreed. It was a fine price for a 3 night stay. But, when I didn't get the summary of the prices, I got suspicious and went to my email to see the total they charged me was $912.90. Only when I called to complain did they tell me that the $108 price was just for the first night. The second night costs $195 and the third night $325! The taxes and fees (not broken down, just lumped together) were $235.62 and then they added an additional service fee of $47.25. I had to call them 4 times. Twice I was strangely disconnected. They insist you cancel your reservation and then they will apply to get a refund for you... No guarantee — and no paperwork proving they applied for the waiver for a refund. So now, if you cancel, you might not get any money back and you have to pay for another hotel room on top. I canceled, called my credit card and have a dispute on hold which will be initiated once they post the bill. And of course the refund will take 10-20 days to post.
Desired outcome: Full refund, their website to be pulled for misleading people.
charging service fee of 19.99 twice without a booking number
I have provided the credit card number to finalize the booking, agent told me there is an error on the credit card, and ask a different card number, we saw the transaction over the phone that two transactions are completed. They said that is the holding transaction which will be refunded automatically, but we called the bank and confirmed it is not the case. I have been told the transaction didn't go through, so the reservation is not booked.
I believe this website is scam, stay away from this. We have disputed this company on our credit card to avoid future charges. Book with hotel directly. They seems change one or twice service fees of 19.99 for nothing.
Desired outcome: Refund the two charges of 19.99 which is 38.98 in total.
I called them back and tried to get a refund of the service fee, which they finally agreed to refund me. But they never did refund it.
When you search for a specific hotel reservation this site will pop up, and if you aren't paying attention you will miss that they are the Hotel but a site from Dubai.
They will charge you a $19.97 service fee, but don't tell you that. They let you think that it is all hotel taxes and fees.
They did disclose the fee in a confirmation email, which by the time I got it, it was already charged to my card and I couldn't cancel it.
So beware: Make sure you are on the actual Ramada website and not this website out of Dubai.

Booked through reservations.com unknowingly
I googled my hotel for a reservation in Athens, Ohio on Friday 10/21. It redirected me to reservations.com which I did not know I was redirected to. Nowhere on the page did it say non-refundable when I was putting in my information for the reservation. On Monday 10/24 I called to cancel due to a work schedule change and I was not going to be able to make the trip. The trip is booked for December 10th, over a month away by the way. The customer service rep then let me know I can cancel but will not be refunded ANYTHING. I asked to talk to a supervisor, Paige, who was absolutely no help either. She just kept repeating herself that I could not be refunded and that I should have read the fine print, that it is my fault. $388 later she said there is absolutely nothing she could do but I could call back after her shift in 8hrs and talk to another supervisor who will tell me the same thing. How is this customer service, how is this possible? It is over a month in advance asking to cancel, I have a job that changed my schedule and I can no longer make the trip. They have plenty of time to rebook, which she said she can cancel my reservation for someone else but still could not give me back any money. As a customer service manager myself, Paige should not be in that position. I understand there is a booking fee
through reservations.com, keep that fee but give me my money back for the room! This is awful!
Desired outcome: Refund me my money for the room and keep the booking fee through reservations.com. You can contact me at [protected]@yahoo.com
Googled the Specific Hotel and was taken to this site so I thought it was the hotel
I was taken to the reservation.com site when I googled the hotel directly and didn't realize until after booking when I received the confirmation email that it was not booked with the hotel but with a 3rd party site that charged extra fees. I cancelled it 6 minutes after I booked it. I didn't see the credit back on my account so I called the 800 number and was told that I would not be getting a refund due to their cancelation policy. This is very misleading. When I cancelled it I thought that I had until 10/18 at 10:00AM and it was 10/11 10:57 PM. I have now been on the phone for 39 minutes asking to speak to a supervisor and she keeps coming back every few minutes telling me the same thing. This is their policy and I agreed to it when I booked the reservation. I keep asking to speak with a supervisor or someone to file a complaint and each time she tells me they will say the same thing and there is nothing she can do. Now she just came back and said that she will see if the hotel will provide a refund. Is she trying to tell me that they have already paid the hotel the money I paid them minus their fees? Is this how this works. Anyone have any suggestions?
Each room in this reservation is refundable for a limited time: This booking is subject to a fee of 1 night's room and tax. There is no refund for no-shows, early checkouts, or cancellations after 10/18/2022, 10:00 AM (America/New York).
Desired outcome: Modify their cancelation policy and clearly state that the fee for using this 3rd party reservation site is one nights stay. Cancelation with refund is only applicable for stays in excess of 1 night if completed by X date.
Same thing happened to me. Googled Hampton Inn from the road and didn't realize I reached this rip-off site, which made my reservation but charged about $55 in excessive fees. This website should be closed down.
