unauthorized credit card charges
7/5/18 --date of incident
Confirmation number [protected]
They set it up to look like you are booking directly through hotel. Total price was shown as $103. As soon as I entered my info--my card was immediately charged $140 and then it flashed on screen it's non-refundable. I immediately called as I wanted to cancel as I knew I was scammed. They refused and said it is non-refundable. I asked how they got from $103 to $140 and she rattled off some numbers trying to bury the fact they were charging a $14.95 fee. I made her repeat it slowly and then discovered their bogus fee. I called hotel and they said total room was charged $92.54 which means they scammed me out of $47.46! I would have never booked non-refundable as I wasn't sure I could go. Turns out I can't so I am being ripped off of $140!
lost reservation
I made reservations on December 5, 2017, for my friend and myself to fly business class from Boston to London and then on to Edinburgh on May 15, 2018. Our flight was scheduled to leave that morning around 7:30 am. About two weeks prior to our departure, I received an email from British Airways asking me to contact them about a concern over our layover time being too short in London. After, contacting this number and discussing it with this agent, I decided to leave the reservation as it was and hope that there would be enough layover time. (BTW, this agent was not proficient with the English language and I'm wondering if she was the one who totally wrecked our reservation.)
The following week, when I looked at my itinerary, I was startled to see that our departure date had been change to May 25, 2018. I immediately called and talked to another reservation agent who told me that there were no more seats available on the 7:30 am flight to London. After about and hour of him working on trying to fix things, he managed to put us on a flight leaving the evening of May 15th.
This change shortened our trip by one day and we had to make other arrangements for our stay in Edinburgh as a result.
I never received a satisfactory explanation for why after reserving and paying for a business class ticket our reservation was changed from May 15 to May 25, 2018.
I guess I would like this mystery solved so that it doesn't happen to other customers. It also colored the beginning of what was supposed to be a special trip that had been planned for a long time. I've enjoyed traveling with British Airways in the past but some kind of compensation is in order.
Thank you.

fees and customer service
I reserved a room on reservations.com and for 2 rooms I was charged 121 dollars and change for taxes and fees, when I asked what all these fees are no one can tell me. I travel a lot and have never pd that much in taxes and fees before. I just don't understand how you can charge all these fees but not know what they are for. This is the first time for using this site and I can say will sadly be the last
hotel room reservation
I was directed through reservations.com to make a reservation for a hotel room in Pennsylvania. I noted that there was a $15 nonrefundable fee (something that reputable travel sites such as Expedia do not have). After booking the room, I found a better price through another site. When I tried to cancel the booking through reservations.com, I was informed that the entire reservation was non-refundable (although this was not displayed prior to completing the reservation). Phone customer support has been unhelpful. I am initiating a dispute process with my credit card company. Do not ever book a room through reservations.com - you will be disappointed.
Hi. Appreciated reading your concern.
As part of the ongoing effort to help customers, Reservations.com provides this information on the home page under "cancelations: Please review your cancellation policy prior to cancelling your reservation, which was provided on the reservation confirmation page as well as your confirmation email."
Each hotel is different in their cancelation policy, therefore the same applies when canceling through Reservations.com.
In order to help further, will you kindly supply a copy of your reservation confirmation email?

I went on a hotel website - I thought - and before I could make the reservation, noticed that it was going to charge me for the entire reservation 4 months in advance. I clicked off the website, but despite this, I got a text confirming the reservation. I then immediately tried to cancel it but couldn't get through to anyone. Recording kept saying, "Sorry, we cannot process your request" and then it would disconnect. I called the VERY nice hotel - Hotel Chimayo de Santa Fe, who eventually got through to the reservations.com. They did cancel my reservation, but I will not get credit for my almost $800 charge for 10-15 BUSINESS days, despite the fact you charged my card immediately. To make your site look like the hotel site is totally deceptive. have now booked the directly with the hotel at a much better rate. I will be VERY careful about avoiding your website.
PLEASE do not use this site they were horrible to deal with I was charged a horrific amount for taxes and fees which no one could explain to me what they were actually for. I travel a lot and have never been charged that much in fees.
reservations.com is a ripoff!! do not use charged $160 for a $106 room
Googled La Quinta..Reservation.com's number came up under LaQuinta with NO disclaimer stating that they were Reservation.com. Person answering phone was very difficult to understand. When I checked out of my room, if I had paid directly with LaQuinta my charge would have been $106 including all taxes/fees. Instead Reservation.com, masquerading as LaQuinta when googled charged me $160. There was NO WAY to know that I was not talking to LaQuinta. I will ALWAYS make sure that the number I call IS NOT Reservation.com and so should you!
never use them
Please, be careful. This company tends to refuse to refund and you may stay without any money.
I lost 500 dollars because they found a million reasons not to give my money back and it was very unfair. And I spent over 5 hours on the phone trying to figure out what to do and how to get the refund.
Please, never book through them. It's very risky as you already understand.
ripped me off!
signed up from canada for a canadian hotel in a canadian province. When I reserved the room no where except at the very bottom of the page in very small very light gray print stating all prices in USD dollars. My issue is the USD should be right beside the price since there was no reason to scroll all the way to the bottom of the page. Reservation button directly below the total not at the bottom of the page. Second taxes ( hotel clerk indicated they have no additional fees) was 20% not 12% plus 15.00 USD for processing. This information is only visible after the booking and if you cancel because of the deception they still get PAID! Third customer service was customer $#*! Because I pointed out the issue it wasn't actually and issue. THIS SITE IS A SCAM AND I WOULD USE BOOKING.COM INSTEAD! $#*! YOU RESERVATIONS.COM
Buyer beware
Strange thing how quick the companies to charge you and how slow they refund or sometimes they don't refund at all. That what happened to me. I booked a room and they didn't confirm my reservation, which is very important. I called them asking what happened, did they book the room or not? They said that something went wrong and they canceled my booking without asking my permission. I'm sure that the issue could be easily solved, but they made another decision. Now I want my refund, they said it would take several business days to get it. Cool. very professional. Nothing else to say.
hotel booking
Information: I recently booked a hotel room in the U.S. whilst I was in Carlifornia by calling a toll free number which I mistakenly assumed it was the number of the hotel. However it was in fact an on-line hotel reservation site called "reservations.com" (which is a site owned by Expedia, it's known that Expedia owns multiple sites in different brands such as Trivago, hotel.com and so on ... ). The agent told me the hotel I wanted to book was sold out and lured me by giving misleading/false information of another hotel (I found out after that it was in fact a poorly run motel in a nearby place) believing that it was the same hotel group ... So I gave my credit card and CCV code and the transaction went through. In the same call I realised then the hotel the agent suggested me to book was in fact not the same class of hotel and so on, I demanded cancellation. Then I was then transferred to a call center in the Philippines to speak to the customer service for cancellation. At the end the cancellation required one night payment as they claimed the cancellation policy is 72 hours ... So I got gipped. Despite various complaint and citing the agent give false and misleading information to lure me into the booking. They pretty much ignored my claim after a few exchange of emails/calls. So the lesson learned is do not trust any sites linked to Expedia. I had same experience before with Expedia and Hotel.com without knowing Expedia controls all these. FYI.
unauthorized credit charges
I did a search online on 6/25 and I thought I was on the hotel's website as it is listed with the hotel name but with an addition of a .reservation.com at the end which I missed. I called their number thinking I was getting the hotel and I was to get a hotel confirmation - which I didn't receive. After I check out of the hotel on 6/26 figuring I would get the receipt emailed to me - I didn't receive. It wasn't until I called the hotel on 6/26 to get my receipt that I found out my reservation was through Reservations.com. So after getting on the phone with Reservations.com they said they would email me my receipt and also mentioned I would have two charges on my credit card one for the hotel and one for their $14.99 service charge. I advised then that I never authorized the $14.99 charge and I was charged more than the $93/night for the hotel than advised on the phone. The person on the phone said that there was nothing they could do. I have emailed Reservations.com on 6/26 and 6/27 and they keep saying that the $14.99 was part of the hotel charge but listed separately and that the fee is not an additional charge and was included in the total presented to me at the time of booking (which is a total lie). They have a canned statement that they use through email as well as on the phone. I will make sure when I search for a hotel online to double/triple check the website I am going to and will tell everyone to never use Reservations.com - they are a rip off to the highest degree. They need to be shut down for illegal transactions, horrible customer service and shady dealings. I keep checking my credit card to be sure no unauthorized charges show up and I know it will be from them. I don't know what can be done to remove the $14.99 charge. I don't know if I call my credit card and dispute the charge if I can get it removed or not. I am so mad/frustrated.
unauthorized credit card charges
I thought I was booking directly with the motel. After entering information and before hitting submit I noticed the 14.99 booking fee so I backed out of the page. Never hitting submit. I never received a confirmation either. Seconds later I get an alert from my credit card co. that 180.53 was charged to my card and a separate charge of 14.99 was also charged. I've called reservations.com numerous times to get this resolved only to get lied to and hung up one. I'm working with my credit card company to get this resolved. I want a full refund, they are thieves and should not be able to continue to do this to the consumer.
Double dipping - buyers beware
Reservation.com charges both the consumer a non-refundable booking fee as well as takes commissions directly from hotels.
Their PPC campaigns make online hotel shoppers think they are getting the best rate but all the rates are in USD which is poorly marked. So not only do guests have to pay a non-refundable fee but they are charged in USD regardless of where they are from.
Other online travel sites give potential clients the option to pick their currency and do not charge additional fees.
BUYERS BEWARE! IN 2016 customers should not be tricked by poor business practices!
Identification deception, hidden fees
In Canada, thought I was accessing the hotel (in Canada) website Oct.26/16, but on checkout noticed the rate was in USD. Did not read fine print. Received confirmation email Oct.26/16 from reservations.com with rate in USD and comment that these were the only charges. Returning home Oct.27/16, discovered a USD14.99 fee on my credit card statement. Called reservations.com and told that this fee was on the checkout page which I had clicked to accept. First, reservations.com disguised themselves as being the hotel website (dishonest and deceptive), Second, booking fee not clearly identified and also missing from the confirmation email. Recommend calling a hotel directly since online hotel booking is a minefield of deception, dishonesty and hidden charges.
Request a refund of the booking fee of USD14.99
Refund request refused, quoting fine print. Thanks to complaintsboard, the company advised me the booking fee would be refunded as a courtesy gesture, credit posted to my credit card account Nov.1/16. Complaint is resolved to my satisfaction.
Extra charges
I have booked a hotel room via Reservations website and after I paid I noticed that there was an extra charge on my card. I wanted to ask them about that but they did not answer so I called my bank and they confirmed that there were two charges. I supposed that was a service fee or something, I really don't know because no one from Reservations told me anything. I do not recommend this company because of total lack of customer service and the fact that these guys have hidden charges and there is no information about that on their site either.
The biggest rip off
Do not trust Reservations website! It is full of hidden fees and there is no information about them on the website. The service seems free and after you give them your credit card information they will charge you! I had no idea about these fees when I signed up, but then they took some money from my card! When I finally reached someone from the customer service they told that when I signed up I agreed to the terms and conditions and it was not their fault that I did not read everything more carefully. Well, I actually did and I'm sure there was nothing mentioned about fees! Total scam!
Scam!
I made a reservation, thinking I was on the hotel website. Only later I found out I made my reservation through reservations.com. I immediately contacted them and asked them to cancel my reservations. They said ok and added that there will be no cancellation fees. But they actually did charge me the $14.99! I received my money back only after I called the hotel. So in my case I was out the $14.99 but nothing more. This company is a total scam.
Same thing happened to me last week, I thought i was booking my hotel on the hotels web site as well and then after I called back to cancel my reservation, I was charged a $14.99 service fee. I called reservation.com to complain and they said $14.99 is the non refundable service charge when you made the phone call to their #.
This web site is a scam for sure!
Thieves!
When I booked I thought I was on the hotel's website. When all my details were completed and the reservation was authorized, I suspected something funny. Only then I realised I made a reservation through Reservations.com. Also, at some point in the completion process, a logo popped up for Hotel-Checkout.com. I was shocked when they added a booking fee which was $40. There and then I decided to cancel the reservation, because I didn't want to pay extra for nothing! Yesterday I called Reservations.com and demanded to speak to a supervisor. After 30 minutes on hold, I finally spoke to someone. Their rep told that my payment will be refunded. I got my booking money back, however the $40 they decided to keep for themselves. Do not use this company!
The company took additional fees
I will never again use the services of the company www.reservations.com. I have made the reservation through them, but because of the final fees, the total sum was really large. It was for $20 more than I expected. I called to the customer services and asked why they haven’t posted about these fees on the website, but the rep started to diddle-daddle and her speech was unclear for me. Awful services.
No pics of the room, no access to the website of the hotel
I booked hotel room through the website www.reservations.com. I needed to book the room ASAP, so I haven’t looked into the room, so I simply booked it. After I paid for the room, I hoped to look at it, but the admin from the website refused to provide any link or pics. They didn’t provide access to this hotel, so I simply bought pig in a poke. Not recommended company and better avoid them and share this info.

Why would you think you were making a reservation from the hotel's web site? You know how to make sure you are doing that? GO TO THE HOTEL'S WEBSITE! If you had bothered to actually read the cancellation policy (which isn't hidden, it is written right on the checkout page and the $14.99 is CLEARLY visible and printed in the subtotal. It isn't a scam, you just didn't pay attention. Your inability to verify (it was right there on the checkout page. You just didn't read) isn't their fault. It is yours. I am attaching a screen shot of their checkout page and showing EXACTLY what is listed.
I made a reservation for 1 night in hotel price showed 112 dollars before I submitted my payment. When I got my email confirmation the rest of the charges that were not given to me during check out were listed. Called them immediatly after and they said they could not cancel it. I never did see a non cancelation policy, is so I would have never booked. They are crooks and I will try and report to the better business bureau!
