They arbitrarily fired my installer (who is my installer for a past and upcoming job and now a friend) for putting his arm around the shoulder of the young woman in receiving to thank her for her efficiency. The firing came as a result of her boyfriend, third party, nonemployee who did not witness, phoning in to complain. She had hugged him in the past when he brought food in (as he regularly did). The camera shows the installer's arm around her shoulder. No groping, nothing criminal. When the installer is fired, should not HR have transparency? Instead they have told him not to set foot on premises. My installer is a decent and honourable man without a twisted thought in his mind, and if this woman is indeed traumatised, is counselling being paid for by Rona? If there is a no touching policy in place, are not installers invited to these workplace policy updates? I think this matter needs to be investigated as Rona Grimsby has botched it with a heavy hand and lack of transparency. Heather Curran.

harassment and embarrassment
My husband and 5 year old son were in your Golden BC store. Paid for 2 plants, 3 planters and a nozzle for a garden hose. Some of your store employees didnt see him pay at a back register as he walked out of the store with our son and about $40 worth of stuff. My husband took our son to the movie theater to see Alladin. Out of nowhere an RCMP officer is hollateing out his name and saying anything he says can be used against him...in a theater full of families and our 5 year old son! The utter embarrassment and humiliation not to mention the fear in my son is something that I cannot even put in to words. The inept staff at this location not to mention supervisors and management need to be held accountable and we demand to know why these steps were taken!
I called the store myself and spoke to Alice F. who is a "Supervisor" at the store. She didn't actually see my husband and son yet felt qualified enough in calling the RCMP upon instruction from the store manager Dave Hunter. At no point did anyone in the store, let alone the supposed investigating officer, think to speak to any of the cashiers at the back of the store. Laughable I know. However, there was enough time to take down my husbands plates and vehicle description. He must have looked too dangerous to approach in the parking lot whilst unloading plants and buckling our 5 year old in to his car seat!

product faulty
I am not sure what to do. I purchased Ashlynn Vanity with drawers and the drawers dont line up.the only way to use the top drawer is to open the bottom one. And also the other side the drawer wont stay on track.
I live 3 hours away from the nearest store. I bought this vanity since I was redoing my bathroom and I had a plumber and contractor install it. I tryed to open drawer and it wouldn.t open unless the bottom drawer was opened too. It has scrapped the top of bottom drawer and looks awfull. This is not functional!
I need to pay for a plumber to come in and unstall it if I were to return it. I have pictures. I need to know what Rona can do for me.
As I said, I live 3 hours away, I have to pay for a plumber to uninstall it to return and then pay for it to be reinstalled if I get a new one.
I am a senior and on pension, so paying over and over again is not likeable.
I would like to send you pictures and asked for a 1/2 price discount.

I purchased a water tank around April 3rd at my local Rona - Midland and McNicoll in Toronto. I paid for the water tank and I also paid extra for installation, delivery, and removal of my old water tank. On April 8th, a contractor was supposed to come, but no one came - he said he thought he was supposed to come in on April 18th instead of the 8th. On April 11th, no one came too. I got a call from a contractor on the 11th saying that he got a note which stated that someone already replaced our water tank and he only needs to come in to remove the old water tank. However, no one even replaced our water tank in the first place. I keep calling Rona, and they keep saying that they will get someone to call back, but no one does. I paid over one thousand dollars and the service is extremely poor. I bought a water tank for a reason, my house needs it, yet no one is coming in to fix it when I paid for all the extra services. Please take immediate action. I want you to fix this problem and I also want a refund - not for the purchased water tank from RONA, but for the installation as it has been an issue more than once. Thank you in advance and take care.

sink faucet
I bought a faucet on sale but until April we got a contractor to install our washroom when he put the faucet the water didn't come out so I took it back to Rona store at elerslie ave in Edmonton the manager told me it was a sale and couldn't take it back or exchange it she didn't even take enough time to asked me what was wrong or offer store credit I like Rona but after this I won't buy anymore because I bought more then 1000 in washroom furniture. She doesn't deserve to be a manager because she shouldn't leave a costumer angry and at least try to help to get fix that faucet. I won't go back there to buy more items for my home renovation maybe you guys will go bankruptcy if you act this way
rude customer service and poor fulfillment
We place an online order on Jan 28, 2019 for an item that was in stock to be delivered to our store of choice. They billed my credit card and sent an email stating order was cancelled because they have no stock. After calling 1-866-283-2239 several times and sending emails to Service.Client@rona.ca, I discovered how their call center people cannot deal with customers (Crystal, Isabel, Bridgett). They are horribly self-righteous and mean spirited people at Rona.ca.
Please don't waste your time ordering from Rona.ca they are incapable of doing anything useful.
The people at store level are on the other hand very good and seldom create problems since they have to face the public.

Order that I placed online was sent incorrectly. After Many calls to customer service and emails, Crystel in online service was more than useless. After 10 days of getting the run around from her, I called the supplier myself! The correct order was on its way in 30 minutes! I see more complaints of online service representative here, THEY NEED SOME SERIOUS TRAINING AND A SINCERE DESIRE TO HELP CUSTOMERS

I went into the Rona on Keneston today and was met by a merchandise employee who I asked to help me and he was extremely rude, not willing to help me and used disgusting language. I am absolutely shocked by the disrespect that was shown to me. I will not be returning after this experience and am surprised that he still had a job working for this company...

Purchased used, told it was your brand. Tried 5 times to deal with Mecanair. I sent them the only 3 model numbers that look similar from their web site. I sent detailed and general photos. I sent a detailed description with dimensions of the replacement roof panels I wanted to buy.
Their customer service first said I must have the right model number but could not tell me where I would find that!
Then they said that the panels cost a lot of money.
Now they say that "all their roof panels are the same" even though their web site shows at least 4 sizes for each of the 3 models I suggested.

On Monday I received an email about a great deal on a French door 34x80 so I checked online for availability unfortunately the door was only available at the Scarborough location on warden ave since it is quite far from my home I calledrona to confirm that they had the door in stock ! They assured me yes they had it so I headed over! Only to be told that they didn't have the door! Meanwhile the i was told it was in stock and it even stated so online! How can the staff at the location lie! I drove a far distance to come purchase an item that they stated was available and I went to be told no we don't have it in stock!
Did the staff really lie or did you misunderstand what they told you? No offense but judging from your post with spelling and grammar errors it is obvious that you are not that smart.

I went to rona purchase building products at the till the employee was extremely rude and critical I was offended paid for items realized I did not have recite or one of items went back in store to find she had lied to her employees. I was acoustid. By staff one womens husband tried punch me rest staff surrounded me like a terrorist. The woman who's husband was trying provoke me threatened punch mu teeth out she finally went on computer found my recite proved I paid for my items one staff member feebly apolagized I call for the manager two employees from prince george phoned me back pretending to be manager o never did hear from manager. Y next step is head office. This is unacceptable.!

I called for manager on phone two employees kaylan and pat. Phone my home thinking there managment.. Manager never did phone. No apologies. Employees covering there tracks. Next step head office.

Hi, I received an email, said it was from PayPal, stating that Rona now accepts payments through PayPal and if I buy something using the promocode PayPal20 I would save 20 dollars. I did everything submitted my payment and the 20 dollars did not come off. I called Rona customer service and they said it is up to PayPal to fix. I called PayPal and it says its a fraudulent email. However, when I click on links it takes me to the Rona Website so I don't understand how this can be fraudulent.
sink purchase, poor customer service no communication
I have several emails from the assistant manager, Bradley Popiel, and conversations with the store manager, Naveet Rai, regarding a resolution to my sink purchase September early September 2018. It's been about a month. The last email correspondence from Bradley was September 14th stating he would resolve things. Didn't happen. After 3 phone calls to the customer service line and leaving several voicemails etc. FINALLY, last Thursday September 27th I received a call from the store manager, Naveet, stating things would be resolved by Bradley, the next business day (Friday) it's now October 6th, yet another week has gone by and nothing! Who else can I reach out to?! I am getting extremely frustrated by the lack of communication from this company and that it takes this long for a simple credit for your errors!
defective electric hot water heater
This is my second submission re defective hwt. Sent in 1st complaint Sept 19th.
On Sept 10th purchased a 40 gal gas HWT at the Winnipeg store at 775 Panet Rd.. Installed the HWT and when I went to light the pilot the Pezo igniter was defective and would not spark to light the pilot. Took the tank back to the store. Paid $620.37 (including taxes) and was charged a restocking fee of $25.26. whoever heard of a restocking fee for returned defective merchandise, therefor requesting reimbursement of the restocking fee of $25.26. thank you!

stock items/ customer service
Upon a recent trip to Rona I found the following;
- no stock of half inch nuts, only 15 half inch washers. Had to go to home depot to purchase.
- waited approximately 5- 10 minutes for a service rep to purchase lumber, employee seemed new and kept asking questions to senior employee who was, what appeared to be, counting bolts/ measuring bolts. The new employee was quite obviously overwhelmed and received little help until the manager came by and took control of the situation. There were people waiting behind me.
- Purchased 10 - 4x4x9 ft. posts- upon arrival at the lumber yard was informed there was not enough posts in that measure, the few that were there- damaged. Had to go back into store to pay extra for 10 ft. posts.
- expected 20 percent off order for oct.1 sale, apparently only applies to online orders- front sales staff seemed confused as to whether or not the discount was in store or online only. Walked away without a clear answer and no discount.

I also try to use the account in few locations and I'm noticing on the bills that the number was not applied to the purchases, what am I to do?

I think I've missed out on the rona cash back cards a few times as well?
I need to make more purchase this weekend and hoping to get some sort of benefit to shopping at Rona over Home Depot which I'm not a fan of however I have been making a ton of purchases at Lowe's as well as I do like Rona and Lowe's

I completely agree. In my first month of a pro account I have bought $6000 in lumber & hardware and barely got a 1% deduction. In fact, on some purchases, I received a .01% discount. And yes I have not received my 15% coupon on a purchase over $200 yet. And I've been on hold with Rona Head Office for 20 minutes now...

After giving out all information for what I needed I was told I would have to come to the store and give a $50 deposit in person.My health is poor but my pockets are rich.My total including counter top and doors would have been well over 10k.I have had work done by Home Depot and was not asked to come to the store. geotech or landscaping fabric
Hi there i would like to express my heartfelt dissapointment about your landscaping fabric you sell by the foot on the roll. It is complete garbage. I spent 600.00 on it and doubled it up in some areas and grass is growing throu it. The whole point is to prevent that from happening. We places landscaping rock and your wood chips and now we are going to have to rip up a ton of work to put some other product down. I have bad health and the reason we used landscaping fabric and didnt care the price was so i wouldnt have to weed. As i am at the hospital 3-4 days a week now as it is i am paying people to come and pull grass every week and there is alot and we put it on gravel as it is a new property. I have cryed and cryed because i cant physically do the work again and will have to hire it torn out and re done and the quotes are ridiculous. I hope you stop selling this productb so thers dont share the pain i am going throu. The sad thing is my husband is a contractor here in golden and has used this product on alot of his jobs. And now he too is getting complaints about weeds and grass growing through so he will no dought need to fix and re do jobs on his dime loosing us alot more then our 600.pp we spent on it. lack of staff
I had been in earlier today looking at a bathroom vanity that was on clearance. I decided at 6:00 today to go back and if it was still there, purchase it. I first looked 10 minutes for someone to help me, then went to the lumber area, where two associates were talking up a storm and one eating a chocolate bar. They did, when asked, nicely page someone to the bathroom area. 15 minutes later a nice young lady came and l asked if she could please check to see if they could go a little lower on the price. 10 minutes later, the answer from a manager was no. Apparently. I decided to take it. She tried to lift it, which was not possible, so she said she'd be right back to get wrap for the doors. I sat down on an aisle and an older man walked by and asked if lvwas ok. I said lm just waiting to get this wrapped and loaded. He disappeared, but came to help the young girl load the vanity. Paid quickly, then l pushed it on the trolley to the door and waited another 15 minutes for a young lad to find someone to help me load it in my suv. I'm 60! This was terrible. Staff, was pleasant but limited. Absolutely last place ld visit again.

Ordering online but had gift card no place to put so called store, to hold for me for hour to get there, employee said they had 1 in stock and location she asked me hold. Seconds later she comes back says 2 employees told her didn't have for year that they didn't write it off and was thrown out.
I said that doesn't make sense, you said had location, computer is letting me order I just can't put gift card in but she insists other employee said that and she didn't look for it. So why would a company like Rona have a inventory system setup in computer for consumers that rely on correct info and when I can order it online and then the employee says they threw it away over year ago was damaged does not make sense.
I have dealt with the manager who is very nice on previous occasion but he wasn't there and I don't get why the staff doesn't care enough to help the customer when it is letting me order online just not with gift card and yet she tells me doesn't have on the say so of somebody else that didn't look.
