This company is the most whack ### company I have ever worked for. They treat the employees like dogs and the management is coniving. These people are escaped inmates from Mexico who want to only pleasure their riches. Tons of illegals they want to use... This is a million dollar company who scams people even who work for them. You will kill yourself working here. They expect so much and no matter how much you give and give they dont give a rats ###. Changes need to be made this is disgraceful... no bags... last time I worked there there was no toilet paper in the employee bathroom...SICKOS.

Don't feel bad, it's the same way here in Texas. The retention is ridiculous, they keep people around that steal and treat the ones that really need the jobs like Sh&*. I know, I was there. I was off work and got fired because I didn't come in and fill someone else's position that did not show up for work. True work ethic and morale at this place is low. If they had common sense, they would hire people that are actually worth investing their time in!

I used to work at Ross. I am not going to tell you what store
But i totally agree with you on this.
I never got treated right
I started in the Month of October
I am suppose to get a raise after one year of working there
I did not get the raise till January
Is that really a year?
They "evaluated" me and determined that i would get a .15 raise
but...the thing is..

For one year:

1. I never called off work
2. i was never late for work
3. 85% of the time, when they called me in, i would work
4. Always willing to go to the extra mile to help people out
5. sometimes i would even stay late

only a .15 raise?

I was not happy.

After i got the raise,
i went out and found a better job.
and quit.

THE FUNNY THING IS I BOUGHT NEW CLOTHS USING MY EMPLOYEE DISCOUNT FOR MY JOB INTERVIEW!

then i quit.

ha ha

ross sucks.

After i quit,
i picked up my final paycheck
and i

I HAVE NEVER ENTER THAT STORE SINCE

OMG...It is so nice to hear that Im not the only one who was used and abused...
Ross is truly the worse company too work for. Like getting no breaks, not getting paid correctly, being constantly lied too. And loved the never ending complaints from customers. DO to the fact that you have no emplyees on the floor and that the CEOs want money money money but wont give your frickin store more hours and if they do they take them right back. UNDER STAFFED, UNDER PAYED but they want you to work your ### off. No toilet paper, no toilet seat covers. And yes all the illegal immigrants you can fine, , and does Ross know of course they do...Half the staff can't speak english thats why you can't tell them what to do if they don't understand you...Ross its not a brand new day, , It's a MESSED up day.

I am currently an assistant manager at Ross Dress For Less and I was wondering if I was the only assistant manager who works more than 45 hours, not getting paid enough and store managers work less hours. I feel that we assistant manager are taken advantaged because we are paid salary. We worked more than 40 hours on our feet not getting paid overtime, while store managers work less hours. We assistant manager should be non-exempt that can clock in and clock-out. In that way we can see how many hours we work compare to store managers. All assistant managers should get paid overtime after 40 hours. Store Managers should not work their assistant manager like their "slaves".

I currently work for Ross in the south. I have been employed for almost a year and the front end supervisor position comes open again for the second time. Again I got passed over for the position quickly and it was given to the area supervisors sister who has only been employed for a month. I have also had my hours cut when everyone who has been employed since me gets more hours. I have also seen favoritism been played when those employees that are kin to one another go on break or lunch and stay for a longer amount of time than we do and if we ask for a certain day off they get mad and just take you off schedule for the next week. I just started to walk out and quit but I am not gonna let those family back stabbing lying ### hoes do what they will and give them hell till I am fired.

why is it that my schedule says i am off work at a certain time, but when the time comes the supervisors announce that we'll be staying another hour or so because the store is such a mess and all our go-backs need to be put away.
I always thought that your work day is over at the time posted on the schedule. This goes only for those of us who work the evening shift and close. The employees working the day shift are gone at the exact posted time. That is not fair, make them stay past their scheduled time too, so that the store wont be so messy at the end of the night. Corporate office, if you are reading this is it fair that you never get to go home at your scheduled time?
If the schedule says 10:30 i nedd to go home at 10:30 not 11:00, not 11:15, not 11:45.

Totally agreeing with all this, I got a great job opportunity, quitting Ross today! I've worked at Wal-Mart also, and this place is far worse.

I'm a Full-time College student and I thought working at Ross would be GREAT! I get to see whats new, have the first pick and the discount... Man...F- that discount working here is soooo hard and I knew it wouldn't be a walk in the park but when you havea manager treating you like a child and customers that think fulling a basket up with clothes and leaving it is a great way to pass a friday night...it makes the job soo much harder.I'm glad that my rent isn't to much and I am single person with no children because the four hours a day I get and the calling me in when I'm at school isn't going to work much longer.

I have the same issue with Ross. But it is not limited to evenings. I have worked stock for the shoe department. We have a manuel that states that we are supposed to have three people for shoes, but they only have me. I tutor in the evenings. So when I tell them I cannot stay, they get mad and say that they will just have to reconsider my schedule for the next week.

I AM CURRENTLY A SUSPENDED STOCK SUPERVISOR AT ROSS. I WAS SUSPENDED SIMPLY BECAUSE I CONTACTED CORPORATE OFFICES SIMPLY BECAUSE OF THE WAY OUR STORE IS BEING CONDUCTED. THIS IS ACTUALLY A LAW SUITE WAITING TO HAPPEN. I'VE BEEN WITH ROSS FOR 4 YEARS AND I KNOW ALL TO WELL ABOUT THR WAY MANAGEMENT CONDUCTS THEMSELVES. THIS IS A HORRIBLE ESTABLISHMENT TO WORK FOR. NO RAISES, NO TP OR SOAP IN RESTROOMS, FAVORITISM, THRETENING TO CUT HOURS IF HR IS CONTACTED, MANAGEMENT STASHING MERCHANDISE, SPS'S DOING EVERYTHING BUT THEIR JOB ETC. THE LIST GOES ON AND ON! I HATE THE FACT THAT I EVER WAS A PART OF THIS CULT LIKE ASSOCIATION. TELL ME HOW I STARTED OFF AS A REGULAR RETAIL ASSOCIATE, THEN PROMOTED TO A STOCK SUPERVISOR AND IM ONLY GETTING $1.34 MORE AN HOUR AFTER 4 YEARS OF SERVICE WITH THIS UNMEANINGFUL COMPANY. ROSS TRULY SERVES NO PURPOSE. EEOC HERE I COME. NATASHA A. COOPER [protected]

That is horriable you guys are treated like that, but the Ross I work with is great! I just go promoted to a Frontend Supervisor and enjoy the chance to help the new cashers learn the ropes. I am also a full time student and my asst. store manger is great about working around my classes. I do agree that some of the customers are disrespectfull to the store by makeing messes and switching tags, but the majority of them are great people. My fellow co-workers are amazing people who work real hard at keeping the store clean, and because of the way it is clean 90% of the time the company has rewarded are store by offering up work shirts and paying for out lunches once out of every 30 days. I can't say I have ever been mistreated or seen any of my co-workers mistreated. In fact one of my fellow co-workers just lost her four year old son in a car accident and everyone at the store donated as much money as they could to her. A few of the mangers even drove six hours to the hospitle in which the child was at just to help her family. I know that each store is diffrent so I see were you are coming from, but I love working at the store I am at.

Upper management at Ross treats employees very disrespectful in so many ways. If it wasn't for the associates along with other Ross staff, this company would not exist. The CEO needs to step back and take a good look at what is going on in the company, apparently him and the board of directors could care less, if that's the case, then why should anyone else. It is pretty bad when a customer can walk in, grab an item, then walk out without paying and there is NOTHING anyone can do about it, how wild is that? But the best part is when an associate can say f*** YOU! to management in front of others and not be fired or punished. When management was confronted about this issue, the answer was oh well, this is the type of employees deal with, Mr. CEO, you should be very proud of your staff, lol.

I don't know what Ross these people worked for but the one I am at is not at all like this are store is very clean you can find merchandise on the racks very easily. I really like the people I work with and my managers are great. I am looking for something else but only because Ross gives their employees no hours and then when you do show up to work they are sending you home early. I don't want to leave but I can't live on no hours.

I am about to put in my two weeks notice. I can say everyone but ONE person at my store treats every employee with kindness and respect. There is one manager who is extremely rude to me and treats every shift like a soap opra. When i first started he told me horrible things about another manager and led me to believe that she did not like new people and at first i thought that was true but she wasnt being irritable on purpose, i had later found out she was really sick and working so it was the point she just felt really bad. I later on found out she had approached our GM about something he did which he had got in trouble for it. He was simply trying to cause drama and make someone feel uncomfortable. I just recently had a injury and was put out of work for a week. Everyone was so kind and caring about me getting better...always asking how I was doing and exc. The same manager that is rude as crap to me was working on a cash register two over from mine and he saw I was doing my returns getting ready to leave (this is shortly after I had came back to work and still hurting) he threw his returns at me and told me to do them knowing I was already 30min over my scheduled time to get off. Well here I am two weeks after I have been back to work and my injury was still bothering me . I woke up this morning and it was swollen and I could barely walk on it. I was told by my uncle who practices medicine that I more than likely have bertitis which happens a lot after injuries of the hip, knee, shoulder or elbow. This is completely treatable and I have a Dr appointment to get the ball rolling tomorrow. Well I called after resting my injury all day in hopes that I could go to work and manage the pain but 12 hours later it was still swollen and still had a stabbing pain that brought tears to my eyes. So I called and the only manager there was the rude one...I began to explain how I tried to stay off of it so I could still come in and manage the pain because in the past if it bothered me I stayed off of it and the pain level went down tremendously. Mid sentence he takes a deep breath let's it out and slams the phone down hanging up on me. It's bad that I now feel like I don't want to even go in because of how disrespectful he is to me and how he treats me! Everyone in the store complains about how he makes them do all his work and constantly disrespects others. I don't know what to do now! I am a very good employee and have been told so by my mods. Ive came in on days I wasn't scheduled, I've stayed until 3:30 am because that same manager kept us there and didn't complain one time, I try to help any of my mods up at the register with their returns or hangers when they need it because I'm just a kind person like that. The fact that I've done nothing to this MANAGER and get treated so disrespectfully is mind blowing. I have texts from that morning where I was talking about my injury bothering me to another employee and stated I was still coming in though. But now it will be his story against mine so I have no idea how to go about this! He can easily lie to my GM and say he never hung up on me, or say I didn't call at all which is why I screen shotted the time I called and the length I was on the phone. I'm at a cross road where I have no idea how to go about this issue . I don't want to get fired and I don't want to quit just because I enjoy working with my coworkers and how fun they try to make work. This one manager is the problem with not only me but others. He could potentionally write me up or terminate me because I was hired three months ago as a seasonal temp but I was told they had every intention on keeping me! Now I'm not so sure because of this managers issues. Any advice? I don't even know hrs number but that is something I'd want.

If anything it has gotten worse...they may run into a problem with me because I am 100 percent disabled and I removed from the wall today the most hostile memo I have ever seen written by an employer...it is in caps and bold letters ...for the fitting room attendants (who mind you, the loss prevention manager has told me directly that my main job is FITTING ROOM...but the memo said the morning person MUST SIZE LINGERIE AND MENS SHOES DAILY and THAT IT WILL BE ENFORCED! ...I FELT LIKE I was in jail ...

When is the company corporation, the company owners going to listen to us. We love working for your company but the unprofessional people you let be the assistant managers are not ethical are very disrespectful that think it's their company. We need managers that work as a team as well . That are equal to all who work their. Not managers that think they can treat us unevenly have their favorites just because they are a little bit hire than us. Please do something about it. Make your company have good comments . I hope I hear good news from and for your company . That way I know that you do care for us, like we care for your company like it suppose to be. PLEASE Don't ignore us . I'm talking about the store in El Paso TX on the East side. Even though I can see almost the same complaints from all the states.
