I was driving with my family including three young children, on our way on holiday. A royalmail van KM12EOH drove in front of me on Wakefield Road in Huddersfield. The van was driving irratically and then stopped dangerously in the middle of a busy road, causing all the traffic behind to brake abruptly. The driver did not have any awareness or due care of the traffic around. Without any indication or notice, one of the workers got out of the van to deliver a parcel whilst holding up traffic. I moved around the van and pulled over to speak with the driver as he was still holding up traffic and had nearly caused several accidents. The driver ignored me initially and then refused to talk to me, he then afterwards stated he was deaf and when I tried talking to his colleague he did not acknowledge I was there. My children were distressed from the incident and the chaos caused by the royal mail van and our holiday plans were very nearly cancelled if I hadn't kept appropriate distance from the vehicle infront.
Desired outcome: Driver Assessment to confirm the driver can safely and adequately drive a royal mail vehicle whilst working. I would also like both the driver and the co worker to be provided with training in relation to communicating with the public.
