windshield wipers
My windshield on my car needed to get fixed, I scheduled an appointment through my insurance company. Once the windshield was repaired the technician informed me I needed windshield wipers. He informed me he would replace my 2021 BMW X4 wipers with the same ones. The next day it rained but the wipers did not clear my window at all, the technician had to come back out and replace them. I went to have my vehicle serviced and the technician at BMW informed me I have 2 different size wipers and the blades are faulty. I paid to have them replaced, but I wouldnt have to if your company's technician completed his job correctly.
Desired outcome: refund or replace wipers.

This is the third time we have had issues with Safelite. We have been called twice because the windshield they had ordered for my 2009 cobalt was "broken in the warehouse" so they had to delay replacement two weeks. Today comes around and we receive a call from the tech who says he needs to delay our appointment due to another customer needing their windshield replaced who doesn't have an awning. Well we had to then inform him that we live in an apartment complex, we do not have covered parking. So instead of being on time he shows up late and its about to rain. He then try's to upcharge us 200 dollars for removing the windshield and the cost of the broken windshields that were broken before we even got them. We already paid the 400 dollars for the windshield and service and last time they cancelled my appointment they offered to take 100 dollars off my order. So what do I owe more money for a windshield I never received? The tech then told us that he would come back later today when its not raining. well its not raining and instead of receiving a call from him we receive a message that our appointment has been moved to the 29th. This is ridiculous, I work in a hospital, 60 hours a week and do not have time to come into the shop (which is booked on appointments anyways) to get my windshield replaced.
Desired outcome: Replace my windshield, stop cancelling appointments, Receipt for any additional charges that this company is trying to charge me. I want my 100 dollars off my order as promised and I want better communication from this company.

Be careful when using them. I asked for a quote using my car insurance. Come to find out that I ended up paying more than if I would have marked pay out of pocket. I tried talking to a representative and she said it was the same cost for parts and labor regardless of using insurance or not, but you only pay the deductible. Okay, my deductible is $500. Seems legit. Until curiosity got the better of me and I got a quote for out of pocket at it was $374.22. I'm no math expert, but out-of-pocket is much less than the deductible. I would almost go as far to say that's insurance fraud on Safelite's end. The representative I spoke to just gave me the run-around and additional numbers I could call to get it resolved. It was not resolved. Here I am paying the $500 over the $374.22. I should have just gone through the dealership for the $500 for the better quality of work and a better warranty. What a scam. Oh wait, there was probably hundreds of dollars of hidden fees that was not included in the quote!
Desired outcome: I would like to be charged the cheaper of the two.
In my opinion, the only way you might get some help is if you call your insurance company and let them know what happened. You should NOT have been charged the full $500 deductible! Also, If possible as Safelite for an itemized statement from the install. They have to give you that BY LAW! That should show that you paid over and above what you should have! The insurance might be able to get the balance for you! I'm sure you didn't give that extra as a tip!
Rear window replacement ford edge
Had a rear hatch window on a 2015 Ford Edge replaced. After it was fixed by safelite my wife and I noticed that there was rattling in the hatch. 2 or 3 days later the rear hatch wouldn't open no matter how we tried.
Scheduled a warranty appointment with the location that had "fixed" the window, they looked at the rear hatch and said they couldn't fix it and to take it to the local Ford dealer in town.
It was 3 weeks before we could get an appointment at the Ford dealership. They looked at it and they couldn't get it to open. They want to tear apart the rear hatch interior panel to get to the latch to open it. Then they can replace the latch and get all the glass out of the inside of the hatch that has jammed the latch and replace the interior panel. The estimate was just under $1200 to fix it.
We took the estimate to the safelite at 1795 E. 20th St Farmington, NM and gave it to Brittney Hutchison. Nothing has been done, she says she is talking with her regional supervisor to figure out what to do. I have to go up there after work to find anything out as she won't call us. I have her business card with her local shop phone number but she won't answer the phone (called several times over 2 days, no answer whatsoever). Called the national toll free number to complain and can not talk to anyone about this problem, sketchy way to do business all around.

Damaged vehicle during windshield replacement
Appointment 11am 3-15-22. My husband was so happy to have this finally taken care of! But, when he returned home, he showed me the torn headliner, dents in the hood, and dirt and grease all over his vehicle. He just paid to have all of this done, and the van was handed down from his deceased father.
Your rating system options tell me you've sucked before. I should kick myself in the [censored] for not investigating first. We spent very hard-earned dollars on your piddly-[censored] service. I would never recommend your service to my worst enemy, let alone a friend. Very, very, very disappointed. Also, you should take your commercials off the TV. They are a disgrace.
Desired outcome: Please refund. Damage to perfect vehicle. Apology would be appreciated.
They broke my mirror and didn’t tell me
I had my glass replaced and after the third time they got a windshield that wasn’t broken or cracked. They acted funny when I finally signed off but now I see why. They put sticky on my mirror piece to stick it to the glass since they broke it and it doesn’t snap into place now

Lack of communication, and so many misunderstanding
On 02/22/22 the rear middle glass window of my truck, Toyota 2020 was broken. On 02/24/22 I was near the Safelite Auto Glass store I went there and received a quote of $1,074.98 and that same night I received a message setting the window to be replaced on 02/25/22. Upon these facts my wife, decided to help, she contacted the insurance, and they informed her that, the repair would be $ 226.76. On 02/25/22 our insurance called the store to find out why this huge difference, the answer was that the entire window should be replaced, and also I had not mentioned the use of insurance, but the following day 02/28 /22 the window would be replaced. We got a phone call from Safelite canceling because there was no rear middle glass window at this moment.
I went to the store to find out what was going on, and the person who had already given me the quote on 02/22/22 asked me to wait because she would ask the technician, to make sure it was the complete window needed to be replaced or not. I was informed by her that, only the rear middle glass window should be replaced and I have to wait. Today, 3/7/22, no one answers the phone in the store and I still have a broken window. The lack of communication with them is terrible.
Desired outcome: Whether this rear middle glass window has already been ordered, or not? If there is an idea of when it will arrive? Another store that has the glass? An answer so I can solve this problem.
windshield repair tech claims he couldn't repair
damage was done on 02/25/2022, I had to large chips in my windshield I scheduled an appointment for 2/28/2022 no show thats great sat around all afternoon for a no show. Rescheduled for 03/02/2022, put in the schedule second appointment 3 chips, tech shows claims that I only stated 1 chip repair. I did in fact schedule for one chip repair on the 1st appointment tech shows up claims he can't do the repair due to seeing smaller surface chips- I stated are you kidding me monday you wasted my afternoon today you waste my morning. I've always used safelite to repair my windshield NEVER was I told that the job couldn't be done. Tech was an [censored] - had to call his supervisor and say oh its not on the work order to do three repairs, and I can't do the repair due to surface chips. again NEVER HAVE I BEEN TOLD THAT SURFACE CHIPS REQUIRED A NEW WINDSHIELD. Windsheild repair 3/2/22 without a new windsheild to be put in. Safe lite again I will never refer folks that I know to use I will in fact send them to the gentleman that did the job.

Windshield crack repair
Tech came to repair my windshield chip, the machine broke and could not do the repair, told him that my concern that the windshield would crack. He assured me that it would not crack. False warranty, predatory practices
On December 20, 2021, I brought my vehicle to my local Safelite Autoglass (Columbia, MO) for a warranty repair on a windshield they previously replaced in November, 2019. Went to Colorado Springs location on aeroplaza was quoted $400 for a window replacement. Granted I was 10min late for an all day appointment. She didn't want to take my car and tried to reschedule me for next Saturday. My issue is if it was an insurance claim they were going to take it in the same day. When they found out I didn't have coverage I had to wait 4 days for this appointment. They really didn't want my money today. Junkyard has my window for $25 thanks for the inconvenience during winter. You'll never have my business again for anything.

Safelite incorrectly installed a windshield on my jeep as it was out of center and there were leak issues. I returned for the warranty repair or replace and numerous representatives said that the windshield should have not been originally installed by the Safelite tech because there was rust present and Safelite would not replace the windshield or offer to pay for the replacement. Clearly they do not stand behind their work or hold their staff accountable for not following company policy on rust (If they even have one). A good company would either replace the windshield or refund the payment if they would not stand behind their work. I will never recommend Safelite to anyone. We also had our insurance rep involved and they Safelite did not respond favorably to their request so they will not recommend this company to their many customers either.

Also got burned by SafeLite's "Nationwide Lifetime Warranty" after they replaced my windshield then fabricated a reason to not honor their warranty when it cracked. Never, ever, ever again.
Run far run fast
Windshield replace and calibrated in 1 1/2 hours. Rain sensor not working on Mercedes S550 so I had no wipers on a day it was raining. Supervisor said to drive fast and the wipers would come on and it nearly killed me in a head on collision. Rubber gaskets not seated properly in several locations. Broken plastic pieces laying below windshield, no clue where they broke from. Things not put back together properly inside. Called Geico and they connected me to Safelite warranty dept. I explain the issues and the warrantee dept hung up on me, so don't fall for the lifetime replacement its only a gimmick to get more business.
Windshield Replacement
While I will say that the original windshield replacement was speedy and well done, there were a couple glitches. First of all the tech left the windshield heater wires unplugged in the A pillars and they had to send someone back out to reconnect them. More importantly, the pivoting windshield support device that the tech suction cups to my driver's door window left several deep scratches in the door window. After almost two weeks of back and forth with Kim in the office and never receiving a call back, I called and they informed me that the tech that came back out to assess this damage advised that there was debris in the window track that caused the scratches. However, speaking with this same tech when he came out to assess the damage, he advised he saw no debris that would cause any damage but that the office may try to blame it on that because of the vertical nature of the scratches. Kim advised that they would not be doing anything to help with that.
So, The windshield replacement itself was a four-star job but the lack of customer service in every other aspect barely earns them one star.

I recently had a windshield replaced, and the technician broke 6 retaining pins holding a cover. I was told that they were ordered, two weeks later, I Have not heard anything from safelite. I went to safelite and spoke with a manager about this sloppy work and the missing pins, and he was extremely disinterested. The manager said he would give me a call and I have not heard from him or anyone from safelite 3 days later. A complete overhaul in management needs to occur for better customer service and to reverse this unacceptable work performance.
