First shaw offered free tv cable which I declined and they kept calling me until I accepted their offer.
And the package / tvequipment they sent did not work and I called shaw to cancel the trial and ended up spending 2 hours waiting.. I am actually still waiting start the call at 6:30 and now it is 8:20pm.
This is aweful. I have never have to wait for 2 hours just to talk to a customer representative.
Shaw charges a lot of money to clients and there is just no services when needed

Licence Plate EH-9495 - WHITE PICKUP - SHAW CABLE...The driver behind the wheel of this pickup today (afternoon) was driving without due care and attention...passing on a solid yellow...and exceeding the speed limit, I would guess by at least 20-30 km - maybe more...endangering not only himself but all other vehicles on that particular highway. This was on Highway 3, between Grand Forks, BC and Christina Lake, BC. I didn't pay too much attention to the time but I believe it was between 2:30 pm and 4:00 pm.
Drivers exhibiting such aggressive behaviour should not be driving any vehicle let alone one advertising SHAW CABLE or any other company. Not good publicity at all.

First they call me for free offer on home phone and cable then they charge me for that and after that when i speak to there customer representative that lady start arguing with me about 20 minutes like an uneducated women. I don't want use there service any more as they are paid to help us not to make problem more worst. They are trapping people by giving them fake offers .

I am a student and I took the plan for $55.89 per month with shaw cable. Suddenly they have increased my bills to $89.49 and they are saying it is going to be this much for next one year and after that it will be $100.
I never knew about any such condition/plan. They also said that if I need to cancel this, I will have to pay $15 every month here on. Moreover, I never signed any contract or legal document saying that I will pay 89 or 100 dollars a month.
Additionally, when I was inquiring about the plans for students from september, the guy, probably an intern or a part-time employee was really very rude and upfront in saying that there are no plans for student. I really felt bad and offended being treated this way at shaw uptown.
This is my first complaint and I have never had any issues with shaw in the past. Request you to please look into the matter and help me out. Thanks for your consideration.

Month after month after month after year after year,... Every single month I need 2 hours to correct their inflated money sucking bills from shaw. When I talk to one rep and make them write explicit and clear notes on what they have told me,.. Well we go back on the notes and magically,... The notes have changed. When you ask for their ids to make them accountable (Freaking joke that is) well guess what,... Surprise again. Sorry can't get that person or I love this one,... What is their last name? Well for (*&*^%^&* sake,... They don't give last names). I asked the to go back on the recorded call and yes he did say there was no rental fee and voila,... A freaking equipment fee (Vac disconnect). Phoned in about it. What a #! Supervisor michele in charlottown pei rep w2po. Ignorant pitbull (Pitbull being as a nasty woman, love the dog) gestapo woman... Turns out she is totally wrong,.. No matter how hard she adhamently fought to charge me more for something I was absolutely told, (notes and going over recorded message confirming I was told no rental charges) I would not be charged for. So so sick of shaw and their terrible terrible service. Absolutely no accountability for what they say and of course they cannot give you any confirmation of what they tell you. Apparently it is against the law for the to either listen to their recorded messages (Hmmm funny but maybe not as I know exactly what the rep told me,... Just convenient to hide it and repeat 10 times how much it is in the fine print,... Regardless of what you were told by their reps. I can't tell you how many times this has happened with this dysfunctional company. Very frustrating.
lack of customer service
April 21st I was contacted by a person in finance? at Shaw. I was instructed that my final bill would be for April 11th and if I did not have it paid in full by May 18th, I would be sent to collections. My response to this was "pardon me... If you are trying to offend me, you are doing a good job and this is not very good customer service". The person stated back "I am not in customer service, I am in finance".
I would like to say that if you want "old" customers to become "new" customers in the future then I suggest that threatening statements about sending people to collections (to a customer that has not had a late payment), may be in direct conflict with this.
I would like to know that this person has been spoken to and suggest that anyone who deals with customers, at any time, are in customer service. Please provide a response. Our final bill with Shaw is $181.57 and our account was [protected]...hopefully you can figure out who was working today...it was a female.

A company that is big as Shaw, must have the slowest accounts payable/receivable in Canada. They took my money fast enough, I am sure they process their bills even quicker, however, when it comes to refunding a person's money, I'm told that the process takes 4-6 weeks. I am a retired senior and I am sick of businesses giving the runaround to customers that are due refunds. SHAW is the worse and it's an awful business practice. Wake up! I guess it's only their money that is important, a red flag indeed.
haw cable is making clients wait 10 days before restoring tv service.
I have no television service as my Gateway is not working. I was told by Shaw I have to wait 10 days for a technician to get my service back. This is not acceptable as I am paying for a service which I am not receiving. Shaw does not have enough manpower to service clients, this is not acceptable. I have been a loyal Shaw customer for 25 years and this is how good customers are serviced. I reported this April 19, 2017.
Yes I agree, pretty pathetic service and I am also waiting one full week for a service tech to come to my house. Customer loyalty means diddly squat. I suggested since iIam without service for one full week maybe they can discount my average $200 monthly bill by $50. Instead the phone rep offers me a $11.99 movie voucher for Shaw Video on Demand. The reasoning was my main TV in the living room would no display any channels but the TV in my bedroom could. When I went to use VOD for the bedroom TV it would not allow me to use that service. Also all of my higher HD channels were not functional, so much for the cheapo free video.
And your absolutely right miss a payment by one day and you are guilty. I guess I have been with Shaw for 20-25 years both internet and cable services. In any other service biz you have plenty of options but the big 3 -4 service providers are all the same otherwise I would tell Shaw to take a hike in a heartbeat.

I have exactly the same problem . My cable wasn't working properly since it was installed, now i have no cable and have to wait 2 weeks for someone to come to hopefully fix the problem. july 2017.

Shaw cable is one of the dirtiest companies I have ever dealt with. They do not clarify when you sign up that if they don't service a area you move to they will charge YOU a cancelation fee because THEY can't provide the service. On top of that when I called in and wouldn't give my name and asked to speak with a supervisor I was told that if I signed a contract and then moved that I wouldn't be subject to the cancellation fees. Yet when I call as a current customer and have to cancel because they don't provide service they definitely apply a cancelation charge, and they say that was clarified when I signed my contract that them saying if I cancel there will be a cancellation fee and I should have known there was provisions. Comical. Their internet is the worst connection I have ever used, and their cable is the most expensive. The customer service is crap with few exceptions. They don't honor their word then just say I don't see that here in the computer. If you haven't already signed a contract don't be suckered in and go with someone else. I'm not stopping here, I am absolutely going to let this be known and dear Shaw cable master minds remember this your contracts are 2 years, you can tell by this board alone, let alone all the Facebook rants about you that people get wise to your shananigans and how corrupt you are in that 2 years. You keep up the greed and crappy customer service in 10-15 years your business isn't going to thrive! Hope all these over charges and corporate friendly charges get you by!

After signing a 2 year contract with Shaw back in August 2016, which we basically had no other option because MTS does not service our area we moved to and we did not want to go with satellite. I think contracts are a rip off but I did it with hesitation. The internet connection has always been slow and we have had 2 house calls and a couple of phone calls to trouble shoot it and it still acts up. When we were MTS before we moved we had no issue, no contracts and they always extended their promotion's past the 6 months. Our 6 month promotion is up with Shaw and I'm still stuck with crapy internet and paying over triple the amount I was paying during the promotion. At least before I could justify the crapy connection with the lower cost. To get out of my contract will cost $25 a month for the next 18 months. I called them and they offer no further discounts on the internet. Very poor customer service! Don't sign a contract with Shaw. Go with MTS if you can. Shaw does not care! They don't care if they get you as a repeat customer after the two years!

my complaint is for the worst set up ever. i called last week to set up internet, booked an appointment for Jan, 13/2017 from 8AM-10AM for them to come in and set up internet and cable in my new apartment. guy came in and set it all up, was told good to go. i started connecting devices. my phone, roommates ipod and xbox all hooked up just fine. when i went to hook my desktop up to the wifi, it wouldnt work. so i attempted the turning everything on and off again. didnt work. so i called your customer service, first things first, do not tell me i will only wait 7 minutes for a representative and then proceed to make me wait 45 MINUTES. are you kidding me? then to be on the phone with him for another 45 minutes with barely a solution. i am hooked up to the wifi, but the bars are so low im almost not hooked up. i am concerned that my wifi signal will drop. i dont know a whole lot about cable, or the cords and all that for internet cause i dont care. but i would appreciate someone coming in and actually explaining everything to me. i dont want a phone call, i want a real live person to come into my home and help me figure this out. and i would like it soon. not a week from now. otherwise ill be making sure none of my friends and family looking for internet and cable providers will go with shaw. ill find someone else.

Terrible customer service. Internet itself works fine usually but gets REALLY slow sporadically.
I disconnected my account and moved to a different city. Before closing off the account I made sure i returned their equipment to the nearest shaw outlet. I was told my account was cancelled and I was paid in full. Suddenly got a call from them a couple months later that I owe $20.48 to shaw cable and the person was calling from a COLLECTION AGENCY! For 20 dollars and 48 cents!
I always paid my bills on time and was super regular with every payment. Yet they sent me to collections for such minuscule amount.
And the funny thing is nobody ever called or e-mailed me about it.
Will NEVER do business with shaw again !

I'm paying 2o dollars a month For HD plus which consists of 15 chanel I only want 1 channel which is AMC chanel 39 in edmonton they tell me I can't have that channel because the building I live in includes basic cable so they can't do it that's not right I feel there trying to get around law that, says i can have a choice basic ly they are saying because my basic cable is part of my rent I can't have Amc chanel 39 which anyone else can have 5 dollars per month but I have to pay 20 dollars per month for package I don't want this is not right I feel please help as of Dec 1st we are suppose to have a choice
poor speed issues with shaw
I signed 2 year contact with Shaw for High speed Internet but for the first two months speed was only 15 instead of guaranteed speed of 150. After many calls & technician visits, finally speed was fixed but Shaw is not giving me credit for 2 months where speed was not as per contract I signed . Customer service is very poor & I had to wait two weeks initially to get my internet installed while they started me charging bill on the same date.

I have lost control of my internet, phone and cable lines, and Shaw has given me the run-around for a year. My bills are high and some long distance calls are not mine, and rentals for PPV movies - like an army movie on my bill was NOT mine. I only received a couple paper copy bills in the mail over the last four years. I have NO cell phone, and I keep telling Shaw I don't use a laptop, Iphone or Ipad or Ipod, and there is a cell p hone attached to my internet services and it is a Mac Iphone 80006EBBF9C1. My internet is insecure and the company will not help solve the problem; whom ever gained remote access to my computer/internet, has and continues to have full control over I have provided numerous complaints in office, online, telephone to Shaw, and they did send in two consultants and when they walked in my door - they said your internet is working fine, and its active. I pointed at my computer station and told them, "I don't have my computer, its in getting fixed and its not on, because I haven't given them the key to access my windows. I am treated with so much discrimination, and I need to make this complaint. I pay for insecure services with Shaw. They laugh at me, get mad at me, and talk to me like I am a ###. Please help. Maybe someone can help. On May 31st, 2016 I ended my shaw cable service after several years. I ended up moving to Mexico and had a friend to return the equipment which he did on July 11th 2016. It turns out that not all the equipment was returned and I owed them $199.00. This was the final bill for the equipment and services till the end of May. I knew nothing about this since no one contacted me. The first I found out is when I got an alert from my Equifax which I am monitored with. This is one of the messages I received from Shaw. Notes on the account indicate you returned your hardware on July 11; the agent specifically noted you did not return the Digital Phone Terminal Juanita mentioned, so I would imagine the retail agent would have mentioned it to you at that time.
A letter was sent to your home June 21 outlining the amount owing. The account was moved to collections on July 7.

So I end the services with Shaw May 31st, they send a letter to an address I'm no longer at on June 21st, I return the equipment on July 11th, they send me to collections on July 7th and now my perfect credit drops from 780 to 625. I have tried and tried and resolve this but nobody and Shaw gives a ###. Any constructive advice will be appreciated.

After four years subscribing to Shaw Direct satellite TV, I decided to cancel my account in favour of a streaming device. I had arranged to run out the month's prepaid billing cycle, whereupon they immediately cancelled the FreeRange access.
Their reply "An account must be active and billed in order to have access to all Video on Demand applications.
Since your account is scheduled to be deactivated on September 3rd, it is considered a closed account in our system, and therefore the Free Range TV application is unfortunately no longer available." Status: Solved
FreeRange is a cost free APP/service that I used more than the satellite viewing. This feels like petty payback from Shaw for cancelling their service. Totally unconscionable and unethical business practice
harassing me
I told Shaw that I wanted to be disconnected a couple months ago.My place was at that time being demolished.I had 2 months to vacate the premises.I didn't have time to tell anyone I was leaving this place.I was so busy going to the library looking for a place.I told Shaw Cable I wanted mine to be disconnected.So what happens?They called me and told me I owe them $800.00 so dollars.I was totally shocked when they told me.Why would they wait so long to get a hold of me instead of my bills getting bigger?OH, they are harassing about those equipment's they left me to.The ones they say are rented out to me.
