This is the second day we are down
This is the second day we are down. It’s Mother’s Day and they want me to spend it removing cables and replacing cables which I did with the repeatedly yesterday. I also took photos at their request yesterday. I told them I wasn’t going to go through that again. We need service not walking me through tasks on Mother’s Day that are useless.
In spite of many contacts and promises to fix our problems, Simply Bits ain't been able to give us the speeds they promised
In spite of many contacts and promises to fix our problems, Simply Bits ain't been able to give us the speeds they promised. We've been talkin' to our sales rep and tech support since we started our contract, but ain't seen no results. They keep promisin' to fix our billin' too, but it's been months and nothin' has been done. Lookin' at the reviews here and on other sites, it's hard to believe Simply Bits got an A+ rating from the ComplaintsBoard.com.
Simply Bits is the absolute worst internet service I've ever had the misfortune of using
Simply Bits is the absolute worst internet service I've ever had the misfortune of using. Their download speeds are a complete joke compared to other companies out there. I mean, seriously, who in their right mind would pay a whopping $75 for a measly 10 mbps? You can easily find other companies offering 100 mbps for just $50-$75! It's absolutely ridiculous.
And don't even get me started on their customer service. It's like talking to a broken record. They keep telling you to do the same thing over and over again, like unplugging your router and messing around with your internet settings. But guess what? It never solves the problem! I even have a screenshot showing that my download speed is a pathetic 1.26, and I sent it to them as proof. But do they care? Nope. They just brush it off and claim that everything is fine on their end.
It's been a complete nightmare dealing with Simply Bits, and I still haven't gotten any resolution to my issues. It's beyond frustrating.
How can this get an A+ ComplaintsBoard.com rating????
How can this get an A+ ComplaintsBoard.com rating? That's disappointing, there should be a warning red flag next to Simplybits. I have been having problems with Simplybits for *months*. I pay $85 for 15 Mbs down. It's been very variable, going below 1Mbs for hours during the evening. During the day, it fluctuates between 15 and about 7Mbs. It's unreliable and I certainly never get what I'm overpaying for. Their customer service was always mediocre, now it's non existent. Used to get an acknowledgment to email sent to their "helpdesk" but nothing now. Calling them is an adventure, with uninformed reps that make one waste way too much time to be worthwhile calling. Not many options where I am, but I am planning to switch once the covid abates.
Up until July, they were great
Up until July, they were great. On June 6th, I called to ask how transferring service worked because my wife and I just bought a house. The previous owners had Simply Bits, so I didn't need someone to come out and install a dish because there was already one. The person on the phone said it was easy and asked which day I wanted to transfer service. I said June 25th, and they said great, and that there was nothing else I needed to do.
On July 15th, the internet cut out. I called Simply Bits, and they confirmed my new address and said everything on their end was fine, but they would run more tests and call us back. Since we didn't hear back from them, we called again on July 16th around noon. We asked for a technician to come check the dish because we had a recent storm. They told us that Tier 2 had to schedule that and that they would call us that day. I requested that they call my wife because I was working and wouldn't be able to answer. They called me, but I missed the call and they left a voicemail saying they would call me back. However, they never called back.
On July 17th, I called first thing in the morning. They told me again that Tier 2 would call me by the end of the day, specifically at "5pm". I explained that all I wanted was a technician to come check the dish, but they said only Tier 2 could schedule that. About 2 hours later, Tier 2 called me, confirmed my new address, and I explained what was going on in a short 3-minute phone call. The person agreed and sent someone out.
I received a call from the technician saying they were on their way. However, they called back asking which house, specifically the blue one, but there was no blue house. I told them my address was 8233, which was my new address that I had confirmed on every single phone call for the past 3 days. Finally, 7 minutes later, they showed up at my new address. When the technician arrived, he said he thought he knew what was going on. He looked at the dish to confirm everything was okay and was on the phone with someone. It turned out that they never switched the service from the old to the new address. Additionally, I was receiving lower speeds than the previous owners had, but I was still paying for the higher speeds.
After another phone call on July 17th to confirm the address change (which I had confirmed on every single phone call up until this point), my bill came with the wrong address and no credits for the 3 days of service outage and lower speeds. I called again on July 20th, but it was difficult to navigate the menus. Finally, I was told I needed to talk to someone else, and they said they would submit a request and someone would call me. However, I didn't receive a call all day. Instead, I received a voicemail saying I was supposed to confirm the address change and that a director needed to approve a credit.
You would think that after all the runaround, someone could approve a 3-day credit and the difference in internet speed. They said someone would be reaching out to me, but as of today, my payment processed and no credit was added, and we haven't received a phone call since July 20th.
