canon 5d mark iii and 50mm f/1.2l usm lens
Hi simplyelectronics,
I bought the items listen in the subject box above (canon 5d mark iii and 50mm f1.2L usm lens) from you back in August or September 2015. They were fantastic and I loved them dearly but they have recently been stolen from me and I need proof of purchase in order to claim on my insurance. Please could send me the order invoice? It would be so so very helpful. Thank you Katy [protected]@hotmail.com
Damaged item
I have ordered a battery from www.simplyelectronics.net and it arrived damaged!
I contacted SimplyElectronics customer service and asked for a replacement and they promised to contact me back as soon as possible. They did not do that.
When I called again they said they need more time to think of how to resolve my issue! Are you kidding me? Even I know how to resolve it - just send me another battery! It's not that hard!
But they keep telling me it's not that simple and that they cannot give me a replacement or a refund! These people are terrible and absolutely useless! Will never deal with them again!
Where is my order - one month on!
I ordered a Sony Xperia Z5 in gold on 6th January
Web site stated 5 in stock and 2-5 days delivery
After 2 weeks - nothing so I emailed them
The result was no reply, but the order status changed to 'Order on Priority'. This is clearly something that is meant to pacify customers as it is now 4th February and nothing has changed. I called 5 times during the wait and twice I got a recording stating their phones were not working. 3 times I got through and all they could do was tell me that my order had been upgraded - on the last occasion I told them it was unacceptable and I was abruptly told they would cancel my order or I could just wait as the delay was with despatch. Am I supposed to really believe my phone is sitting in a warehouse awaiting despatch? For a month? I also completed web-form email complaints - not a single reply.
Throughout this entire month of waiting, their stock levels rarely changed - now showing 2 in stock and still 2-5 days delivery.
It is abundantly clear to me that they do not actually have any stock at all - but wait until they have enough orders to go and negotiate a deal somewhere in the world to satisfy a back-log of orders.
Beware, their web-site speak lies (just check the 'reasons to buy from us' banner - it promises nonsense) and their customer care is dire. If you're in no hurry at all then perhaps worth a chance however I have now identified another seller for only a few £ more who are attracting excellent reviews.
If they always suffer from these delays, then be honest - tell us and give us the choice. Meantime, they continue to charge at the time of order via Skrill - making it harder to get a refund.
They will take your money regardless of whether an item is in stock. They are happy to misdirect you, fob you off, and confuse on a daily basis. The updates to your account are absolutely meaningless.
This company has no regard for anyone but them selves.
DO NOT USE.
Even when you try to cancel an order that can take 3-4 days to cancel and it could be 21 days before you receive a refund.
If you have outstanding orders report them to Hong Kong Consumer Council.

Canon 750D
I ordered this camera on 21/09/2015 my invoice number is 772380 I was assured it was on its way. It is now 14 days later and I still do not have my camera. I had tried to pay by credit/debit card but this was refused by the UK banking system and I had to pay by Paypal instead. I now understand that my camera has been with Chronopost France in their depot at Morlaas for the past 4 days. I was promised a delivery on Friday, then assured and emailed confirmation for a Saturday delivery then finally received an email on Saturday morning saying delivery was rescheduled for Monday and I'm still waiting. Simply Electronics shrug off responsibility for delivery saying it's up to me to contact the delivery people initially DPD who subcontract to their local delivery service Chronopost, known locally as Chronic Post. I would strongly advice anybody not to do business with Simply Electronics who are based in Hong Kong and hide behind a UK telephone number. The delivery service is appalling and my purchasing experience has been highly stressful. I wish I had paid more and gone elsewhere. Beware, these cheap prices are not worth taking the risk for.
Customer service - what customer service?
I have recently purchased a camera from this company and thankfully it did arrive unlike other peoples experiences. My issue is with their customer service. I purchased additional items along with my order that were substandard and when I contacted them they sent me another wrong substandard replacement. Several months waiting, seventeen emails with attached requested pictures and numerous broken promises, still the problem is not resolved. All I requested was a refund for the additional items...
Why is this proving so difficult?
Fake promises and seller doesn't care about clients
Don’t buy from the company www.simplyelectronics.net. I ordered electronic book from them, but they promised to deliver it within several weeks. I heard this scam within one month. I was sick of this crap. I asked to provide money back or I would call to the police. But they didn’t care and continued to provide fake promises and blah-blah. I have no idea how to get money from these ###. So be careful if you use this website or leave comments if you have horrible experience with this seller.
Purchased goods on 10th May 2010. Date now 31st May 2012.. still no goods after an 8 day delivery promise. Contacted them, they say its "delayed..blah blah"..
Will fight to get money back since they don't actually ship anything out.
I ordered a camera from simplyelectronics.net 10 days ago and no sign of delivery. I have sent them 3 emails so far. But no one has responded to my querry. I am going to ask for a refund tomorrow. I wonder how such companies are still on the market. Some thing has to be done against them as quickly as possible.
Stay away from them.
Lousy experience, rip off, useless, disgusting, possibly fraudulent, buyer beware, stay clear, avoid at all costs ... and spread the message!
Pretty much everything bad others have said applied to me. They lie about stock. They take forever to respond to email trying to buy time. They will not give you a delivery date. They take your payment immediately. Still waiting after a week for a DELIVERY DATE for an item in stock. Burned once by these liars.

My order number was [protected] for a Canon EF-M 11-22mm lens

Money was taken from my account on that day to the amount of 306.95 GBP

Numerous emails requesting a refund have had no response other than them saying for me to 'bear with them'

I hope that you can help me in obtaining a refund from this company.

So true!
Simply Electronics are also operating in the 'UK' - via Hong Kong. We are having similar problems to you in the USA - I cannpt understand how this company is still going.
My story is different I ordered and received a camera in January 2010 - it recently went wrong and I returned it to Canon for repair and it turns out that is is a counterfeit! The serial number has been altered, they say this is often done to avoid detection (Customs / VAT etc). Please check your serial number on the camera corresponds with the EXIF data!
No refund provided
DO NOT BUY FROM SIMPLY ELECTRONICS. 5 Months after paying for an expensive camera which was not delivered, many many emails I am still waiting for a refund despite having received countless emails saying that it is being handled, has been prioritised, will be in touch with details of the refund. The level of complaints against this company is staggering. I am only sorry that when I ordered in haste, hoping to receive prior to Xmas 2014 that I did not do adequate research which would of quickly revealed quite how untrustworthy and unethical this Hong Kong based company is. Do not be fooled by the 30 Day Money Back Guarantee...it is a lie. Do not be fooled if you think that it is based in your country of purchase (UK or otherwise)...it is not. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I ordered Android tablet from Simplyelectronics on the 22nd of December. I received the good on February, but the product did not start. I filled and delivered a refund form and sent the goods back early February. I have still not received a response to my refund request.
I canceled an order on 02/11/2011I had placed with them on 02/09/2011 and my credit card was charged on 02/14/2011. I asked for them to explain the discrepancy and I have yet to hear from them.
On 26/01/2012 I ordered BlackBerry Torch 9810. I cancelled the purchase on 30/01/2012 and I got the confirmation email on 31/01/2012 saying the order has been cancelled and I will receive the refund within 5-8 working days. It is 25/02/2012 today but I have not received the refund yet.
Purchased phone not received
On the 6th of January I googled an Apple iPhone 5C 16GB (Pink) SIM Free / Never Locked with Full Apple Warranty and found on Simplyelectronics website a good offer for 376.95 pounds. I purchased it and according to the website I was suppose to receive it with in 4 to 10 days. I noticed the money deducted from my account and still my status was verifying the money received. 6days later I e-mailed them and attached the document I received from their website on purchase but then they said between 7 and 14 days. Today we completed the 14 days and no sign of my phone yet and my status on their website reads packed. I e-mailed them again to cancel my order and refund my money today. I need your help to guarantee that will be achieved with out delay please.

Simply Electronics
Announcement regarding Simply Electronics and the resolutions services provided by KwikChex
Since June 2012, KwikChex has provided a resolutions service that enabled customers of Simply Electronics with complaints to raise their issues with KwikChex - a form of 'complaint escalation'
Throughout that time, (with the exception of one case which was more complex) all cases have been resolved with either the goods being delivered, a replacement being accepted and provided or a refund made. We have throughout the 18 month period emphasised that KwikChex was unaware of any of Simply Electronics customer being deprived of either an acceptable product or a refund - and continually made it clear that we would always wish to hear from anyone with a complaint.
Within the agreement that we had with Simply Electronics was the clause that although they are based in Hong Kong, they would comply with EU consumer laws. They adhered to this in terms of every case we handled.
We additionally answered all queries over matters such as 'Grey Goods' and supplied additional information on the business.
The number of complaints we received on a monthly basis fell substantially over the 18 months. We have always acknowledged though that there were issues, particularly concerning the stock levels shown on the website and late deliveries that remained and had been seeking new ways to prevent these from happening.
Regrettably, KwikChex will no longer be able to pursue the solutions to such issues as Simply Electronics discontinued using our services with effect from 31st December 2013. We will therefore also not be able to accept any further cases. We will however attempt to resolve any outstanding cases we have already accepted.
non payment of refund
I ordered a Canon lens on August 28th 2013. I paid by bank transfer the sum of £306.95 which went straight out of my bank account. The lens delivery was promised within 10 days. After 2 weeks it had still not arrived and when I emailed the company, the reply said that their consignment was damaged and rather than send out a damaged lens, to wait for another delivery or optionally cancel the order. I cancelled the order. I wanted the lens for my holiday which came and went without it. It is now over two months since my request for a refund and after numerous emails to Simply Electronics asking why it is taking so long and what the problem is, all I get in return is an email telling me that the refund is in progress and to 'bear with them' and 'thank you for your patience' I am at my wits end and don't know what to do. I believe, after researching the complaints about this company that they are some sort of money laundering outfit. Keeping everyone's money either for as long as they can or forever! and making interest on it in their banks! I need some advice on what my next move is.
Dear Customer,
I am very sorry for the inconvenience caused.
I will look into this matter for you, however, please provide your order details so that I could further assist you.
I look forward for your response.
Many thanks.
No delivery, no refund, long delays
Order Num: [protected]
Like many others I am a victim of SimplyElectronics. I ordered a
camera for a birthday gift. Three weeks later it was still "awaiting
dispatch".
I canceled and I got an excuse mail with a "3-in-1 Cleaning Kit" gift
to keep my order. I refused and I confirmed that I want to cancel. Now
I am still waiting to be refund.
The chronology with the order status from their web site is the
following:
29/04/2013 Payment Received
29/04/2013 Payment Confirmed
30/04/2013 Order Received
not noted Order Verified
not noted Order Confirmed
05/05/2013 Order Awaiting Dispatch
After I canceled:
16/05/2013 Cancellation Received
17/05/2013 Cancellation Submitted
21/05/2013 Cancellation Confirmed
23/05/2013 Refund in Process
30/05/2013 Refund Confirmed
Still no refund but I started posting complaints about them.
UPDATE
Later the same day the order status changed:
30/05/2013 Refund queuing on Payment Gateway
31/05/2013 Refunded
I was finally refunded on 31th May.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
No refund
I purchased a camera from simply electronics. They contacted me to say the camera wasn't available and if I wished I could choose another camera. I informed them that I would like a refund. This was on 24.11.12. I still have not received my refund. I contact the company every week and they tell me they are sorting this out and I should receive my refund soon. I do not know what to do.
These people are just scammers DO NOT BUY FROM THEM Bought phone, took money, told out of stock will refund, STILL waiting

Unethical Business Practice
Unethical Business
Further to complaint listed on your website 2012-08-03; I have experienced a similar scenario.
My purchase date was 2012-07-02 for a Panasonic HC-X900 camcorder, costing GB £629-95, on Order No: [protected].
I became suspicious of Simplyelectronics.net, integrity, when receiving e-mail dated 2012-07-10 which read,
QUOTE ‘Upon packing your order, we had discovered that our shipment of the camcorder was damaged, and therefore had to be returned. Unfortunately, the replacements are not expected to arrive within any short period of time, therefore we had cancelled your order, and you will be able to receive your refund soon. If there is an alternative item that is required from your side do not hesitate to place the order on the website.’ UNQUOTE.
I have exchanged many e-mails with Simplyelectronics.net - Customer Service Executives, asking for money refund ; whilst I remained patient and courteous throughout; they always gave misleading promises.
The GB £629-95 was paid by a Lloyds TSB VISA Debit card; I subsequently got in touch with my bank department, named Card Fraud & Disputes Fraud Risk Management Team who took up matter and have reimbursed me the full amount. To date they have not recovered refund from seller’s bank, though the statutory 45-day period given by Lloyds TSB does not expire until September 22nd ( from August 8th). It is possible my bank may take a loss in this fiasco, which is indeed unethical business practice.
Fraud and theft
Beware that the real problem with this company is not the delays in dispatch. They will always send you your product even with big delay. Fraud comes in another modern way:
They may send you either wrong or malfunctioning product in order to force you to return it. Then, kiss your money goodbye, you will never hear from them afterwards. Only if you manage to win a case with Paypal but guess what, they are affiliates in a way. I provided all relevant documents proving that I have sent the product to that address, I even obtain teh certificates from the UK postal service showing their signature when they picked it up and still Paypal was with their side so be aware that you are on your own. Right after they won the case, not only they refused to refund me or send my phone back, they were joking at me and their only answer was go and ask your money from Paypal and leave us alone. I too tried everything, warnings, threats, everything. Nobody is willing to stop them.
Also their products come from Hong Kong, with Asian firmware which according to the product, might be incompatible with your region and also comes without European waranty.
So be aware, if you purchase, don't try to send back. If it's defective just keep it or sell it as scrap. At least you'll get something. My advice, stay away and better pay some more money to buy from a trusted seller with waranty.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Shady behavior of the company with regards to my order
I wish to file a complaint against the company Simply Electronics with whom I have dealt with over the past seven weeks. After having purchased an item from their website which I had not received eleven days after buying, I cancelled my order due to the shady behavior of the company with regards to my order. Forty days later, I am still waiting for my refund which the company says on their website, will be provided immediately.
“If your credit card has already been charged for the purchase and your order is cancelled, SimplyElectronics.net will immediately issue a credit to your credit card in the amount of the charge.” Extract from the Terms and conditions of Simply Electronics
Since the cancellation of my order I have had to put up with numerous excuses from the company as to why I have not received my refund. The past seven weeks that I have spent dealing with this company, have left me with little doubt that this is a company who walks the line between legal and illegal business practices –tricking customers into buying their products through the advertisement of false promises that become evident as soon as the payment transaction has gone through. Simply Electronics is a company who plays with customers’ patience and time, in the hopes, I believe, that the dissatisfied customers will eventually give up on their demand for a refund.
I will provide you as attachted, with a chronological outline of my dealings with Simply Electronics.
June 9th, 2012. I ordered 1 x Nikon D7000 DSLR Camera Body (Order Number [protected]) on the website SimplyElectronics.net without receiving any formal receipt (I have only received an e-mail confirmation and an automatic message after paying the order online, please see the attachment).
June 21st, 2012 I decided to cancel my order and demanded a full refund.
The reasons that I decided to cancel my order include:
• The fact that I did not receive my order during the time frame promised (The item being in stock on the website, the trader guaranteed the item to be shipped within 1-2 working days and delivered within 2-7 working days )
• The shady behavior of the customer service representatives:
The inability or unwillingness of the representatives to give me any clear and concrete information concerning my order.
Their refusal to provide me with a written date at which time my order would be shipped. They only gave me a date for the shipment by phone which was inexact.
Details concerning the cancellation of my order:
• The Customer Service representative accepted the request by phone and asks me to confirm it by e-mail. But, while I was writing my e-mail cancellation a few minutes after my phone call, the online status of my order changed from “new” (I had the misfortune of seeing this for 10 days after my payment) to “packing”.
I have a hard time believing that it was just a coincidence that this changing operation happened just right after my call requesting the cancellation of my order, while one of their online Customer Services Agent kept saying to me that the item that I purchased was not present in their stock.
• I nevertheless sent a cancellation email that same day demanding a cancellation of my order. To my surprise, the status of my order the following day was listed as “shipping”, please see the attachment).. At the same time I received a reply to my cancellation request, from the customer representative stating that I had not given the company enough time to cancel my order and that the product was now being handled by the shipping department and they were therefore no longer able to ‘help’ me.
• I therefore asked for the tracking number of my order which Simply Electronics refused to give to me. I had to contact DHL (delivery company) myself in order to obtain information concerning my product. In speaking with a DHL employee I discovered that the time delays that Simply Electronics had given me were in fact false. (I had been told by Simply Electronics that I would receive my refund as soon as the package was returned to them. I found out from UPS that Simply Electronics received that package on June 30th; however several days after this date, I still had no news from them. I thus informed them that I was aware of the fact that they had received the package and I once again demanded my refund).
• Despite my unrelenting pressure to receive my refund, Simply Electronics has put off providing me with my refund both through taking a lot more time to reply to my emails than was previously the case, and by giving me weak excuses as to why the refund has not taken place.
The most recent excuse has been that there is a problem with their credit card processor.
After seven weeks of waiting and countless emails exchanged, I still have not received a refund. I have tried to negotiate with the company itself however as you will see for yourself in reading the emails that I have attached, this tactic is useless when dealing with a company that seems determined to evade any sort of responsibility that they may have towards their customers.
My sole request is to be reimbursed the 819, 95 euros that I paid for an item that I cancelled over a month ago.
they ignore you
SimplyElectronics SIMPLY THE WORST - THE PITS
If you want your money taken immediately and then wait an indefinite period for delivery, SIMPLY ELECTRONICS is the company for you
If you want all your enquiries ignored, SIMPLY ELECTRONICS is the company for you
If you want to sit on the phone forever in the vain hope they’ll answer, SIMPLY ELECTRONICS is the company for you
If you want your cancellation requests ignored, SIMPLY ELECTRONICS is the company for you
If you want to return a faulty item for a refund, replacement or repair and you want your returns requests ignored, SIMPLY ELECTRONICS is the company for you
Otherwise, go elsewhere. Anywhere else. You won’t find a worse online retailer than SIMPLY ELECTRONICS
Of course there is a CHANCE you may have a good experience with SIMPLY ELECTRONICS, just as there is a CHANCE you may win the lottery jackpot.

Non delivery and non refund of overcharging my credit card for 3 orders when only one was ordered
I ordered a Camera Lens on my daughters computer but using my credit card. Twice it came up 'Incorrect details entered..Please try again' I KNOW I had entered the correct details but on the third try it accepted. I then found THREE lenses had been ordered and charged to my account. A phone call to CHINA by my daughter resulted in them saying this has happened before but a refund would be made to my account and only one lens would be sent. This was on 19th June 2012. Today, (30th June 2012), 11 days later, NO lens has been received and NO REFUND made. I am VERY careful not to spend on my Credit Card unless I know I have funds to pay it off but I DO NOT HAVE anywhere near £1800.00 to pay for their mistake. They probably make a fortune on other people's money before they refund it ! When, eventually, they do make a refund, can I charge them for any Credit Card Charges incurred, and a phonecall to China ?

Awful Customer Service
OK, folks: listen and learn from experience. SUMMARY: I bought a FujiFilm X100 gray market camera ($1200) and developed SAB six months later. It got fixed and I just got it back. But that really isn't the story.
I live in Tennessee, USA bought on the web a NEW X100 from "Simply Electronics" and noticed that it got shipped to me from Hong Kong. Delivered in four days across the ocean, new in the box, with a Fuji warranty and Simply Electronics' "own" warranty for 12 months. Hey, two warranties...very cool. This is amazing this world wide commerce. That is, until six months later when I finally realize I have SAB (the aperture blade problem} and call FujiUSA thinking all I need to do is return it to New Jersey for manufacturers warranty repair. I get this great guy in Fuji technical repair who proceeds to tell me where to send it and then asks for my serial number. The "uh oh" is then followed by it is a "$500+ repair that is NOT covered since I have a 'gray' camera"...a what? OK I am ignorant, OK I didn't read the web review of this TERRIBLE vendor, OK I didn't realize that FUjI (and Nikon, Canon, etc) only fix non-grey market cameras as detailed on this forum.
It took me over a week of trying to deal with SImply Electronics just to get a RMA (return number). Off the camera goes to Massachusetts - an address that appears nowhere on their website. In fact, there website has NO address for ANYTHING. No communication for WEEKS. Fast forward ahead almost THREE MONTHS and I just got my Fuji x100 back from - you guess it - Hong Kong. Apparently it got sent from Mass. to Hong Kong and somewhere over there got fixed -- but the company never told me where or how and simply returned it to me in the same box I sent it to them. Hey, maybe that's why they call it "Simply" Electronics!
I thought I was defrauded. I thought I would never see my camera and hence my money again. I LOVE this camera. I bought a Sony A65 while I "waited" and while my 23 MP Sony SLRT is a great camera, it is not the X100 experience. Lesson Learned that I will repeat for those of you reading this: NEVER, EVER, buy a camera or other sophisticated electronic device from other than a reputable seller. DO NOT BUY GRAY MARKET. If you buy used, think of it like a used car. It either is going to be great or you bought a clunker and didn't know it. And to all those manufacturers who have a defect covered under warranty in their gear: when we have a receipt, no matter where what country we bought the new camera from, you should honor your warranty and protect your reputation, by fixing a manufacturers defect free - or for a small 'penalty' for us idiots who purchase stuff on the web that comes from another country. As for me, I won't be buying anything from anyone who does not have an established reputation WITH US offices ever again. I am one of the fortunate ones who recovered from the gray-market experience, but I will never forget it.

Refund on Cancelled Order
I ordered a Asus Transformer keyboard from these jokers. It was advertised as being instock and my card was debited immediately. After a three week no show on the order I decided to cancel. Despite cancelling the order before delivery they still shipped the order which I had to recieve and return. 4 weeks later now & they still have to refund my money...disaster of a company. Never deal with them again. Customer service had a "22 hour wait time" the other day when I phoned. No access to supervisors, no escallation process, in short - gangsters...

I placed an order on May 10th 2012 for a camer which was clearly stated in stock. Money taken on May 12th. May 22nd no sign of camera. Called and was told they would chase up with the warehouse as there was a backlog! I asked to cancel the order, was told to email that and I did. I was also told it would take a few working days to refund back to my card. May 25th was told it could take up to 2 weeks to process my refund because of 'internal processes in place'. June 5th = 2 weeks. Called on 7th June and was promised payment by the afternoon of the 8th June. Called again today (8th June) only to be told it should be processed by 7pm... 5pm I was sent an email stating it was being chased up and if I don't receive it within the next 7 days to contact them! I was also told their 'accounts department' and main operations are based in the UK in Reading. Companies House doesn't list a Reading address but an Ireland address...Has anyone ever received a refund from this company?
