No refund on Credit Card
Ordered a camera from them and they deibited my card immediately. They then said they could not supply as the delivery was damaged to them. The truth was they got the price wrong and the same camera was still being advertised at a higher price. Said I would pay more if they got the price wrong. This was ignored. Asked if would like to choose another item. I didn't want one and went for the refund. Now waited 14 days and still no refund.
I have dealt with them before without a problem but would now say avoid at all cost!
Eventually got the credit on my card but it took nearly three weeks. I am sure they know that you can't complain to the credit card compnay under 28 days so they hang onto your money. I would not deal with this organisation again eventhough you see their adverts in loads of places.
No Refund even after Agreement
Ordered a tablet PC on 20.2.2012 as a Birthday Gift. When it became apparent that delivery would not be in time, cancelled the order and Co. agreed to refund purchase price (which was taken from my credit card within nanoseconds of order).
Phoned Co. twice to ask what was happening with refund and repeatedly told refund being processed and refund should appear within next two working days. The third time I phoned (..quite angry as no refund had appeared) the agent tried to fob me off again. When I made it clear this was totally unacceptable, agent actually hung up in the middle of me speaking!
I have lodged a formal complaint with my credit card issuer and sincerely hope they can get the outstanding refund.
I also think this company needs to be thoroughly investigated and possibly fined/suspended/closed-down depending on findings, until they can at least operate a business with honesty and openness!
Have you had any luck getting your refund?
Do not do business with Simply Electronics
I have ordered a Canon lens and the web site and confirmation email noted an expected shipping in 1-2 business days. I also sent an email to change the shipping address but got no reply.
After one week, the order wasn't shipped and I have contacted them by phone. It should be send out on Monday was the reply.
A few days later, the order was not shipped at all and I asked to cancel the order, as stated on their web site.
They did not cancel the order but just confirmed that the order was in processing but they could not give a shipping date. This is strange because the web site show 1-2 business days and the stock was going up and down. So, 14 days gone by since the order was placed.
I did a second cancellation request and then I got a cancellation confirmation reply at last. But, we are now more than 15 days further and I am still waiting for a refund and yesterday I sent a new email but again, no respons.
Sorry, SImply Electronics. If you deliver as promised and reply to customer request in a descent time, I should not have cancelled the order. Now I can make only one recommendation to anyone: do not do business with Simply Electronics.

I have placed order for sony ericsson mokbile phone from them on last week of dec 2011 but the order was not dispatched till second week of Jan 2012. I enquire them about the delay and asked for updated dispatch date. But they did not gave me any date so I cancelled the order which they accepted. Now I am waiting for refund since last 2 weeks. Everytime I email them it is responded by differenct customer service executive. Finally I email a Mr. ming and Vanessa Carroll. The later responded by saying he will organize a prompt refund and upon completion, a refund confirmation email will be sent to me which I can expected within 24-48 hours. I did receive an email on Thursday saying a refund has been initiated to your account but the money is yet to appear in my account. Given the company's reputation and their dealing with me I can't relax till money is deposited back in my account.
I did contacted the Proof Quality providers among many other organizations and government agencies. I received response from all of them and the most positive one was from Proof Quality providers. They assured me to raise the issue with SE and response within 24. Well they did not replied but that was not needed as I got my refund in my account the very next day. Many be its just a coincidence as I probably takes few days to transfer money between difference accounts.

Announcement regarding Simply Electronics and the resolutions services provided by KwikChex
Since June 2012, KwikChex has provided a resolutions service that enabled customers of Simply Electronics with complaints to raise their issues with KwikChex - a form of 'complaint escalation'
Throughout that time, (with the exception of one case which was more complex) all cases have been resolved with either the goods being delivered, a replacement being accepted and provided or a refund made. We have throughout the 18 month period emphasised that KwikChex was unaware of any of Simply Electronics customer being deprived of either an acceptable product or a refund - and continually made it clear that we would always wish to hear from anyone with a complaint.
Within the agreement that we had with Simply Electronics was the clause that although they are based in Hong Kong, they would comply with EU consumer laws. They adhered to this in terms of every case we handled.
We additionally answered all queries over matters such as 'Grey Goods' and supplied additional information on the business.
The number of complaints we received on a monthly basis fell substantially over the 18 months. We have always acknowledged though that there were issues, particularly concerning the stock levels shown on the website and late deliveries that remained and had been seeking new ways to prevent these from happening.
Regrettably, KwikChex will no longer be able to pursue the solutions to such issues as Simply Electronics discontinued using our services with effect from 31st December 2013. We will therefore also not be able to accept any further cases. We will however attempt to resolve any outstanding cases we have already accepted.

Can't believe that this comment has been put on here. My card refund is not forthcoming after 3 weeks. I would suggest that they know that you cannot make a claim against a card company fot 28 days so they keep the refund until thn, using your money to operate. They are without doubt very suspect in their dealings after telling me lies about the product I ordered. Interesting that they say they in Dorset when they are so obviously in Hong Kong
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!
never delivered, liars, thieves, crooks
This company is ###ing joke. Site shows item in stock I ordered galaxy note and the waiting game has started after two weeks still did not receive email from them when item will be shipped. Email sent to them, automated reply plus next day another from them saying they have no idea when item will be shipped ###ing lame. Started a dispute thru paypal that want immediate refund. Next day got my money back. Never again deal with these stupid clowns again. Stay away from these monkeys. Check other sites as well. ( http://www.resellerratings.com/store/SimplyElectronics ) just to name one.

I had ordered for a white 64gb Nokia N9 and even though it shows up on their website with enough stock, i received an email from them that the item they were supposed to despatch was damaged. And that they dont have any more stock, so they asked me if I wanted a refund. I subsequently received a confirmation of the refund being sent for processing but no refund so far. Its been close to a month of me placing my order and funds debited from my account for a high value transaction but no sign of the product or the refund...

Don't use the SimplyElectronics online retailer they do not have the stock n hand no matter what they say on their site or in person. They take your money before even shipping. They don't acknowledge emails for a number of days. They take ages to answer any calls to them. When you cancel they do not give you your money back immediately i am still waiting for mine it is nearly a month since they took it. I wouldn't be surprised if they close down one day at a point when they've accumulated enough people's funds. Someone officially needs to take these clowns out of business
Ripped Off
Everything bad others have said about this company pretty much applies to my order so far. They lie about items being in stock. It's been a week and they have not been able to give me a ship date on a stock item that they say SHIPS in 2-4 days. They have taken my money however. No problem with that aspect of their business. When you ask a question, they buy time by taking 24 hours to respond each time. The response is vague. They are running a scam so avoid them. Maybe my item will arrive. Who knows. Certainly not within the time frame that I need it. The ONLY reasons I selected them was the free shipping which lowers the total cost and the item being listed as in stock. I think part of their scam is to list certain items as being out of stock so you think they are accurately tracking inventory.
Regarding the string of positive remarks you see sometimes. I would seriously question the extremely positive reviews. Why so many 1 star ratings and suddenly so many 5 star? Could it be they are not real? Not saying it's true but it should raise doubts about the validity of the positive remarks. These are either the luckiest people in the world or they are connected to the scammer SimplyElectronics.
UPDATE: 21 November - Still no package. Supposedly lost. They are doing nothing to replace it. They don't even respond to requests for a refund or to ship another item. This is looking very bad. They are very smooth and generic with responses but never commit to anything. There is no way this place should have any type of "seal" other than.. Well, I can't say that here. My problem cannot be unique. It's time to contact my bank and authorities. I've emailed Intermail.com in the UK to let them know the type of company they are supporting. They are supposedly the shipper for "SimplyElectronics". I don't know if they are connected at other levels. I will continue to provide updates until this is resolved.. Or not.
BTW. Check out the video on youtube that one of their customers created. It's not recent but it shows that the company has not changed over time and continues to use deceptive practices.
Update 22 November - Still no commitment to replace the "lost" package and they refuse to refund my money. It has been 2 1/2 weeks since they shipped which was much later than quoted. Given the severely negative remarks about them, I don't see how they can be certified by KwikChex. Two new developments. I've asked for a refund under their published money back guarantee and I've registered 2 websites to collect links to people that have/had problems dealing with this company. The word needs to be spread somehow."
Update 23 November - They've stopped responding to my emails. One can assume I've lost almost 600 Euros! SCAM if I've ever seen one.
I thought I would update everybody.. I finally got a refund. It took a lot of effort. If you are having problems with this company, don't give up. Send them LOTS of messages and let them know that you are posting their performance online.
No refund (after not receiveing item)
I have placed an order (camera lens) on 22th of July 2011 and up to now i haven't received my item (almost three months late). After tens of emails and "we are in touch with the courier" quotes i understood that they are common liars and crooks. Local courier agency (DHL Greece) told me that they had never received a package with the tracking number i was given. I got sick with the emails of type "we're on an ongoing investigation with the courier" and 3 months now i'm still waiting. The bad thing is that the transaction was via PayPal and i can't open a dispute since more than 45 calendar days have passed!
It's surely my worst transaction over Internet the last 15 years ! And i've lost 269.95 Euros ...

Fraud
I ordered a mobile phone & memory card from this company & was assured (as stated on the website) that it would be with me within 5 working days, it was not.
I have sent a total of 6 emails & all I receive are automated emails in return. When I placed my order I checked out the company address & it was an address in England, now when I checked the website the address is in Hong Kong!?
I have since tried to cancel the order & again, more automated emails.

Fraud!
Scam
I attempted to purchase a EOS 1D camera from this company in Jan 2-1- for £2200. After a long decision making process I ordered the camera and the money went out of my account on 26th. I received an email to say my order was on hold and that they needed further proof on identity, copies of my card, utility bill and optional to help would be driving license and passport. My bank advised me to not to enter into any further transactions. I cancelled the order and then took another month before getting my money back after I had engaged Trading standards to work on my behalf. I have research many forums and sites to find very similar and other horror stories. Several said after using this company their accounts received very odd transactions. Nothing though is written up on this company so others can find the truth about them. Just what are they doing? Are they just unprofessional? incompetent? or what? They use fulfillment companies, money-bookers and mailboxes etc to do all the doggy work, so they avoid any direct customer contact. There refund system at times appears to be slow or even non existence.
Fraud
This company pretends to be operating from Boston, MA but in reality is located in Hong Kong. The pretend to have hard to find items in stock. When they receive an order instead of shipping the merchandise they delay and give multiple excuses. For example, we have sent the order to dispatch for scheduling. When the order is canceled they throw up a bureaucratic smokescreen to delay. I have no idea if my money will ever be refunded. It is obviuosly a big mistake to deal with this outfit.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Non Payment of refund
Ordered a camera costing £720 on 17th March 2011.
Camera not delivered, so cancelled the order. It then took 3 complete months to prise the refund from them. 3 Months to process a refund, with each reply from Simply Electronics from a different " Customer Service Executive" in their accounts "department"...
Quite simply - Simply Electronics are out and out fraudsters. They deliver probably 50% of goods ordered and use the remaining money belonging to happless customers - to fund their operation.
USE THIS COMPANY AT YOUR OWN RISK!
So have you recieved the refund now? and how?
No stock and no refund
I ordered a camera because they claimed to have stock and a competitive price. After placing the order I came across a site that said this was not a smart thing to have done. I did phone them to find out when they would be shipping my order and was told they were out of stock. I then cancelled my order and got an acknowledgement on May 10th 2011. I have phoned them continually and am told that my refund is in the last stage of the credit department. Finally today on June 7th I was recommended by them to put the situation into dispute with my credit card company!
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
This is exactly the same as me - I ordered a camera and although it was showing as in stock, and I was advised when I subsequently called that it would be delivered at the latest on 1st July, this did not happen. On contacting them I was advised that it was out of stock. I therefore asked for a refund and was told this would be received by me within 3 - 5 working days, and of course this did not happen, even though my credit card was deducted immediately upon ordering. Having chased today I was told my refund was being processed and is in a queue. It takes forever to get through on the telephone and you only get an automated response to emails, nothing more. I have now opened a dispute process with my credit card company.
Did you get your refund yet?
Online Fraud
I ordered a camera and lens. My account was debited immediately. They then pretended to require documents to verify my identity which I provided, but they never supplied the goods nor refunded my money. They are thieves who should be expelled by the credit card companies and paypal etc. How long will they go on getting away with blatant theft?

Fraud,Poor business Ethics and Scaming PPL by Steeling there hard earned money
On March 15th 2011 I ordered a Tokina 50-135mm F/2.8 AT-X 535 (Nikon mount) From SimplyElectronics.net and two day later I received this Email
"Dear Customer,
We have generated a support ticket to help us track your inquiry. Your
ticket code is LTK145030. Please use this ticket in any further
communication relating to this matter.
Greetings from SimplyElectronics.
Upon packing your order, we had discovered that our shipment of
Tokina 50-135mm F/2.8 AT-X 535 (Nikon mount) was damaged, and therefore
had to be returned.
Unfortunately, the replacements are not expected to arrive within any short period of time.
We apologise for any inconveniences caused, however in this
unfortunate event, we would like to ask if there are any other similarly
priced products listed on our site that may be suitable as a
replacement? Should the price be slightly higher, we can perhaps waive
this as a gesture of goodwill (please note we can only do this usually
for minor differences).
Likewise, if the price is lower, we can have this reimbursed to your account.
Kindly let us know by reply and we will do our best to expedite this for you. Otherwise, kindly advise on how we should proceed.
Looking forward to your response, thank you.
Kind Regards,
Tobias

Hello, At this Point I would like you to credit back my credit card and cancel my order.Thank you so much Robert Nelson
P.S.Please let me know when you have do so and thanks again.
After this Email it has started off a series of Emails Stating over and over again that they are sorry and that I should receive my refund within 24 to 48 hours. Now I wouldn't be here filing a complaint if they had lived up tho there word.I have continued to Call and Email SimplyElectronics.net to no avail.I have also filled a report to the BBB, The State District Attorney as well as Google.
Where we are at now, I have again called and Emailed SimplyElectronics.net and Emailed them for the 13th time still with no real help or resolution to my Refund/Issue with them.
Cancel / Refund
I am from the Netherlands. I had ordered Kindle 3 which was in stock at the time. But 10 days after checking with Simply Electronics is was told that the was not in stock. so I had canceled the order & they told me that
I can get money back 3-4- days and now it has been 3 weeks and I am still waiting for the refund.
Order number: [protected]
Status :Refund is currently in progress (this is always the case)
Do not wait any longer, I was in the same boat so I had to contact my bank to get my money back. If you paid by PayPal or Credit Card you are ok the refund should be easy by the relevant bodies if you speak to them i.e. your bank or PayPal, but Debit Card can be harder to get your money back on. Speak to your bank either way and if you have any emails from these scam artists include it in your case with your bank, this is what I did today and hopefully I should get some money back.
Best advice I can give you.
Good Luck.
Late Refund
I made an online order from this company. 5 Days after my order, they requested for a copy of my ID, credit card and utility bills. I refused to give them and cancelled my order. Then, they did not refund my money back for 45 days. At the end of 45 days passed with countless attempts to contact the firm I issued a complaint through google checkout whom I used as payment method. They refunded the money next day!
This company has a terrible consumer services and return policy. During this 45 days my searches on internet showed that my case was no exception and thousands of people (over 4000 bad reviews on google checkout) suffered from late refunds, non-delivery and even credit card fraud. More can be found on details on http://simplyelectronicsnot.webs.com/ .
Hi Jamie,
I have followed the advices on the guest book part of http://simplyelectronicsnot.webs.com website. Actually what you should do depends on the method of payment you used during purchase. If you chech the guest book part of http://simplyelectronicsnot.webs.com you will find many advices.
Hi there,
I am in exactly the same position.
I cant beleive companies like this are still allowed to trade. They should be shut down.
Could I ask you exactly what you did to get your refund etc please?
They have just sent me the email asking for my ID?! Sounds very very fishy to me.
Any help you could provide would be appreciated so much.
I really regret ever considering doing business with these people.
Jamie
No item received, no refund
After ordering 2 MacBook Pro from them on February 10th, 2011, I was asked to send a scanned copy of my passport, visa card and utility bill to verify my identity since this order cost 3, 200 euros.
After sending them the required proof, their email replies go like this:
14/2/2011: notified that they received the documents and my order is been processed
17/2/2011: they told me that they are trying to ship the order as soon as possible and will be notified by email when they do. Order is expected to arrive 2-3 business days after shipping
21/2/2011: told me that after "chasing" my order with their logistics department, they are unable to provide me with even an estimated dispatch date due to a very high volume of orders
22/2/2011: told me again that their logistics department is still suffering from backlogs but they will handle my order on a priority basis
28/2/2011: informed me that upon packing my order, they discovered that the 2 macbooks were damaged and had to be returned to the supplier. Unfortunately though they didnt have any more in stock so a "gesture of goodwill" they asked me to choose a replacement product and they were willing to cover the price difference if any
On 29/2/2011 I replied and told them to send me the next available 15 inch model, which a price difference of 160 euros per macbook.
1/3/2011: they replied that the price difference was too big and they couldnt cover it
On the same date I asked them what was the maximum price difference they were willing to cover and they said that they could only cover very small price differences.
On 2/3/2011 I offered to cover half the price difference and they could cover the other half since this mess was their own fault.
4/3/2011: they replied that they can not again cover half the price difference.
At this point I emailed them back asking to cancel the order completely and refund me the money.
7/3/2011: informed me that my refund request has been forwarded to their accounts department and once it was processed, I would receive an email from them.
After waiting a few days, I emailed them again asking whats taking so long to refund the money since it only took them 2 days to run their verification check and charge my credit card.
11/3/2011: informed that the refund takes 3-5 business days depending on the workload of their accounts department and was "assured" that they will refund me anytime soon.
Today, 16/3/2011, I emailed them again since I was still not refunded nor had I received an update from their accounts department.
I am starting to think that they will never refund me and I will loose 3, 200 euros!
I have all of my emails and their replies in a single email thread. Is there anything I can do to get my money back as soon as possible?
The same happened to me with the same excuses that the product was damaged! I was waiting for a long time and they were not sending my refund and then i send them an email saying that i was going to report them to the USA INTERNET CRIME COMPLAINT CENTRE and then in one day they refunded the amount sending me the receipt in short time. If i remember well this company is established in Hong Kong.
Totally correct. Do not involve business with Simply Electronics, you will definitely lose your money. If not sure read all complaints.
Documents to be submitted
I make an order of a video camera panasonic hdc-sd600 (500 euro). The money have been debited from my credit card the same day. After two days they ask me to send some documents for the order to proceed (A copy of the credit card i use and a bill). If they would like these documents they must have asked them before take the money and not after. So i canceled the order because my bank said not to send them. They refund my account in a week. Also when you try to send a mail, it comes back immediately a generated message, which inform you that you will have an answer in one day.
So i think that the service is poor, but at least they refund my money. I wouln't recommend
