Wrong duty and gst calculation
Abysmal, 3rd world country service from a 1st world country! Singpost is the worst!
A parcel sent from my mother in France arrived in Singapore on December 21st, to my dismay she was not aware that all alcohol is dutiable arriving in Singapore. She had sent me half a liter bottle of brandy for my birthday.
From the moment we were made aware of the problem following the tracking system, we contacted Singpost to enquire about the custom clearance and informed them that it might be due to the alcohol within.
December 22nd, One individual from Singpost on the phone told us that he will put a request for a swift clearance.
December 23nd, no feedback, we call back and someone else ask us to contact the custom. I did contact the custom and this is word for word what their operator wrote on their chat when I told them that SingPost asked me to call them “Which is unfortunate. They have been doing this for a while when we have informed them not to. Please speak to a declaring department of Singpost to know the progress of the parcel clearance.” I called back the same day Singpost and I was told to wait until the clearance is completed.
By December 24th the tracking system on their app was saying “item has been screened by relevant authority.” We call back and been told to wait for duty to pay.
December 27th, the message said “GST/Duty payment pending…” 8:AM I receive an email with an invoice in the email’s body stating 2 LIQUOR items and a total duty and GST payable for SG$74.95.
The value of the alcohol itself is ca. SG$59. The thig is that there is only 1 bottle of liquor, the other liquid is a cologne! It is obvious that the checking has been botched and nobody took the necessary precaution to identify the liquids.
Then the quote itself states unit value SG$287.32 without further explanation…
I have received example calculation from the custom on how to calculate the duty and the GST. It is nowhere close to the number Singpost gave me.
My only assumption at this stage, as nobody on the phone was able to tell me, is that they have assumed that both liquids were alcohol…
Being overwhelmed and angry at this lack of professionalism, I have called again Singpost on December 27th around 4PM. Requesting that a manager call me back the same day. 24hr later nobody called.
On the 28th around 6pm I have called and been told a manger will call me back within 0.5-1 hour. 2.5hr later nobody called. I called back around 8h30pm and this time after 10mn of waiting after giving my case number, I am told that they need their other team to review the invoice and they will get back to me within 2-3 working days.
As of today January 3rd, 2023. Still nothing. Nobody called, no email, no update!
The feeling of been held hostage push me to shame Singpost services on social medias and take action to remedy this situation.
Desired outcome: Get my parcel ASAP!
As a matter of update, i had to leave the same complaint message on LinkedIn. Reaching out to Singpost's Group CEO and CEO International. The later, was prompt to contact me and had a "Customer Service Manager" to call me and solve my problem in 24H. That person was able to do in 24H what the rest of Singpost was not in 14 days. It is unacceptable that i had to go so high up in their hierarchy to solve a simple matter. They really need to listen tot their clients and be more proactive.
Return my parcel to Israel during my absent and without informing me
I was overseas from 9 to 20 Dec 22 and Singpost attempted to deliver my parcel 3 times during this period of times. Only when I reached home around 1130pm on 20 Dec 22 I saw the 3 unsuccessful delivery notes from Singpost and it mentioned they will return to sender after 3 attempts.
Immediately, I checked the status of my item tracking number RY405321285IL it stated it is in the process of returning.
The next day morning (21 Dec 2022), without any delay, I immediately called Singpost to check the status and request for the item to be collected at the nearest Singpost branch (we agree Sengkang branch) and the lady answering the call told me she will do so and item still in Singapore and she told me someone from Singpost will call me to confirm the arrangement.
On the same day, I check the tracking number status of my parcel from Singpost website, the status of my parcel has been changed from"in the process of returning" to "recevied item at singpost mail processing centre, delivery attempt will be made within 2 working days". So although I did not receive any call from Singpost, I assume the item will be delivered to me within 2 working days.
So I dare not go out from 21 Dec to 24 Dec waiting for the items to be delivered but nothing was delivered.
To my shock, I check the status again on 26 Dec after public holiday, Only to find the status has been changed to items returned to sender. I tried to contact Singpost again but all they tell me is items has been returned and please contact the sender which is in Israel!
I have been waiting for the items for months and only to receive during my holiday. I am extremely disappointed with the way Singpost handle the return of items to such a far sender country, they should have contact me either by email or call me before they trigger the return process! how can they just choose to trigger return process after 3 unsuccessful deliver? At least give us time to respond not to say Dec is the holiday season and many are not home during this season.
I tried to contact Singpost vis email a few times but all they reply is items has been returned and please contact sender. They didnot answer my question on why they promised to call me and never, why their system mentioned will attempt deliver but also never.
I am very surprised and disappointed with the lousy service of Singpost — our Singapore Post!
Desired outcome: either the parcel to be return to me or refund me the total cost of m purchase which is SGD90.06
Rude and unapologetic delivery service
Received my parcel at 12.20pm on 27 December 2022. My gate door was open and delivery man came to deliver the parcel. I was in the midst of something so I had to put down what I was doing to walk over to receive the parcel. Insolent and rude man had the audacity to shove my parcel between the gates and threw it onto the floor of my house. Then has the audacity to just walk off with all the right in the world. Please hold him accountable for 1) possibly damaging my parcel by throwing it into my house even thought I was already approaching. 2) ruining my mood by being so insolent and so unpleasant for no good reason and being utterly unprofessional. Really such a disgusting and ridiculous act that I have to condone when I was ready to greet him to receive my parcel. Truly disgusting. I understand he may have been in a rush but I was already making my way there. Throwing my parcel on the floor is completely unacceptable.

Desired outcome: Just a simple teaching to him how he should treat his receivers and what kind of attitude he should have in order not to ruin everyone’s day. An apology would be too much to ask for somebody like him so no thanks.
Poor follow-up about a delivery complaint.
The postman delivered a parcel to my letterbox without realising that the bulk of the item would get stuck upon retrieval - see attached #1 & #2. Indeed it was stuck. - see attached #3. File a request for the postman, on his next delivery round, to retrieve the stuck item and deliver it to my unit with pictures detailing the issue. 2 days later when I did not receive any response, I decide to call customer service to inform that about the problem and was assured that they will bring the matter to the relevant department. So I thought the matter can soon be resolved. Unfortunately, another 2 days passed and more parcels were stuffed into the letterbox - see attached #4 & #5 but nothing was done to resolve the matter. As I was expecting more delivery from my online purchases, I call customer service and spoke to the same person who had attended to me 2 days ago and divulged that it will take 3 days to escalate a case to the relevant department! This is totally unacceptable. What if it were mission-critical items such as medications or parts required to restore some machinery etc... Singapore prides itself on excellence in all aspects of its endeavours be it in the workspace, school education and customer services, SingPost needs to revisit such value in order not to decline further in the face of new competition that is stealing its lunch.
Desired outcome: Please get one of your postmen to resolve the matter by retrieving it from my letterbox and delivering it to my unit.... a very simple solution to a simple problem which need not cause any agony.
Package was delivered in US warehouse but can’t locate saying that items has no vpost account number

This is absolutely unacceptable service.
My case (CAS-6746847-Z8G5Q3- CRM:[protected]) or this case is close for almost two months which is still not resolved.
The package was delivered since 21th Oct’22…however there is no vpost account number missed from local store that I purchased with.
No response from email, no one bothered to call or send a status update.
No news if my package is lost or completely untraceable.
Please, please is there anyone from Singpost who can address and resolve this case.
I feel like no one cares or follows up on it.
I would really appreciate if anyone could help me with this or help me get the full value of my package to whoever is at fault or received my package.

Parcel delivered wrongly
The parcel was placed outside my door but it is intended for another address many streets away. This is not the first time. There were also a number of occasions in the past where SingPost delivered to my address when the mail is for another address.
Desired outcome: Please pick up the parcel outside my door and deliver it to the correct address.

How can Singapore Post just deliver without calling 1/2 days in advance ?
I came to Singapore Post on 18/11/2022 with the intention to have 2 items delivered to :
Mr Kane
Jalan Orkid, Taman Orkid 6,
Cheras, Selangor

As of today 4/12/2022, the 2 items are still NOT DELIVERED !
When I use "pos.com.my" they mentioned delivery man went to address without calling and could not deliver !
I told both managers from SingPost, Ho Yong Chern and Sherilyn Tan but they keep saying Malaysia Post Office will not call but just deliver and if Kane is not in, they will go another day !
On 21/11/2022, I asked another Delivery Service Provider to send something to the same person (Kane) with the same address and it was delivered on 26/11/2022. They call Kane to arrange for delivery and Kane waited at the main road as there is no unit number !
I told Ho Yong Chern and Sheriyn Tan about this and show them the photo but they do not even want to take a photo of this place !
Desired outcome: I do not want a refund but I want my parcel to be delivered as soon as possible !Please call Kane one day before delivery and he should receive the item !
Missing parcel

This post is related to the treatment that I have received by the SingPost call center staff during the collection of my oversized parcel.
I have received a letter from Singapore saying that I have to collect my oversized item and need to call 1605 to arrange.
I have made a call to 1605 on Monday 8 November to check where can I pick up my oversized parcel and give a tracking no. stated on the letter. The operator has advised that I should pick up my parcel @ Bukit Panjang Post Office since the parcel will be re-directed to the centre. When I went there on Wednesday to collect the parcel, the centre has advised that they do not have a parcel and ask me to call 1605 to check on the location of the parcel as they were unable to check . I was ask to call in to call center several time by counter staff as they are unable to help. After calling the operator has advised that the parcel is at General Post Office, which is at Paya Lebar. So I make my way down to Paya Lebar to collect but to my dismay they are unable to locate the parcel and ask me to make a same call again. I have to escalate the matter and have to wait for another hour to locate the item. The whole process of collecting a parcel has took my whole day. Even though I have make my due diligence to call in , the whole process of customer service and the attitude of the call center staff and the counter staff has made me fustrated. I will not be able to trust this SingPost service again.
Vpost under singpost
I'm a foreign customer from Malaysia and I encountered such a bad service on Vpost on my first time experience. This is about a ticket, CAS-6713798-G7L4H9- CRM:[protected] and CAS-6718922-S9C1R9- CRM:[protected] whereby I need this parcel to be picked up by DHL from the Portland warehouse. On 26 Jul 2022, your officer was informed me that razor blades are allowed to ship so long it properly wrapped. However, upon it received by your warehouse, your all informed me this is a restricted good and unable to ship. As a resolution, I have arranged DHL to pick up it on 03 Nov 2022 with the waybill label was shared to your customer consultant. However, the trouble happened again as your warehouse never make any confirmation with DHL for the pick up arrangment.

This issue isn't close until today, I have spent more than 14 days to call from Malaysia and written email to your consultant. I really disappointed on the service quality and not even meet my expectation

One of the most horrifying service. Shipped two clothes packages from China to SG using vpost. One was detained by China customs with no reasons assigned according to Singpost email on 19 Oct. Chatted with Live agent Jhon. Textbook answers for half hour. With no light shed, he asked me to pay a visit to nearest post office for help and ended by saying I should refrain from sending prohibited items to prevent inconveniences. For heaven's sake, its a pair of pants! Called Singpost hotline, a Cristin said will call back by 2.30pm but did not. Called hotline on 20 Oct to speak to Cristin, call agent put me back to call selection menu. Second agent said will ask Cristin to call me but never. Spoke to Shan on 21 Oct who checked and asked me to obtain brand authorisation letter from seller on 24 Oct. Responded to Shan on 26 Oct that seller said the pants had no brand tagged and do not have such letter. Followed up twice and no response. Appreciate if Shan or anyone can help with this asap.
First of all, vpost charges me $11+ when other shipper charges me $3+. Price is not competitive and we still have to put up with such poor service. Will give zero stars if there is such an option!

SpeedPost Delivery from 20 Oct till 27 Oct still Processing
We have sent documents to SingPost at Paya Lebar on 20 Oct 22 to deliver urgent LC documents to the bank. We were told the delivery will take 2 days. However, today 27 Oct 22, we checked tracking and is still at SingPost "processing"? Tracking No is XR00001925735. Please check and deliver to UBS Bank by 27 Oct 22. if there is any penalty or LC expired and we are not able to claim the payment of CHF188,576.50. SingPost please be responsible for the delay of delivering documents from 20 Oct 22 till 27 Oct 22 still not delivered.

Parcel stuck from 23 days
I hope you are fine i order 20 to 30 products from aliexpress standard shipping which is afforable and cheap but my 1st parcel of earbuds from an official fratured store are in transit from 23 days from singapore everytime it says item enroute to postal facility so i contacted with seller he doesnt respond then i contact with singapore chat and their representative says me that it saying recieved by local delivery so my point is why i am not seeing that status and why jts updating whats the truth.

Poor and slow Service..
Cargo Arrived Singapore on 08 Oct 22 there are 5 Parcel. only one parcel is delivered to our office on 10 Oct 22. the balance 4 parcel have GST to pay.
when I received the GST letter it was on 17 Oct 22 and our finance immediately make payment on the day I received. Usually the next day I will receive as it was a speed post. on Tuesday I never receive the cargo. So I wait untill Thursday I call speed post hotline. they told me within 3days after GST payment was make will deliver to us. than I wait till Friday. its 3rd day. I waited whole day no parcel came. I call again. they give alot excuse like already proceed. and say maybe another week after Depavali 25 Oct 22. I was so angry. I had cancel my appointment my leave just to go office and waited for the Cargo and their replied is, they will try their best and ask if can delivered on another week. I find the process is dam so slow. shouldn't call speed post . should call slow post. The cargo status has Arrive SG on 08 Oct 22. only 17 Oct 22 I than received the GST payment. Took 1 week plus than I received the invoice. and this is not the first time. I can say it's really dam lousy service. I guess now customer is not import to them. If important, I have feedback so many times but no improvement. So disappointed

Shipment collection
Absolutely terrible and unreliable service from Singpost, they are supposed to pick up a parcel for shipment to UK scheduled on 29 Sept, but no-show, it took multiple calls and emails before I can finally get it rescheduled for collection on 20 Oct, and again waited whole day, it is a no-show for collection. When I called the hotline twice, it seemed that their operators were clueless about what can be done and they dont even have the means to contact the person who was supposed to collect the parcel for shipment, were unable to confirm if they will be coming or not and what time they would come. One of them even suggest I should reschedule again, what is the point of that when it has already failed twice! What a disgrace for a postal company that has the title "Singapore" in front. In the end, there was still no resolution and I am getting sick and tired of having to call them up every other day. By the way they never reply emails, they just kept sending those strange emails that say someone is looking into issue, respond in 3 working days which never had a follow up after.
Desired outcome: Set a specific date and time and really come and fulfil your task, collect the parcels and ship it as scheduled!
International parcel
27th July 2022 I posted an international parcel to Australia
29th July 2022 it shows that it cleared Singaproe
There is no status after 29th July.
I approached their customer care. Case number is CAS-6654657-Q9K8V2. I also have a receipt and the tracking number which I can provide on demand.
In the chat on 11th October I was told that the manager will approach me via a phone call but it was never done. Please see the screen shot attahced.
Singapost is unaware of the status of the parcel although. Auspost never received anything from them. Singpost thus is a bizarre service.

Failure to update case despite contacting customer service 10 times since 21st September
The GST of my packages are incorrect. Despite repeated enquiries on the issue (10+ times) with customer service since 21st September, there has been no update to my case CAS-6658529-G2P7G9- CRM:[protected]. Instead of paying 7% GST for 3000SGD worth of my imported product. The GST payable is 7% of 7000SGD. I have called "1605" 5 times, Singpost Live chat 3 times, emailed 3 times and been physically at Paya lebar Singpost to submit a feedback form on the issue. There has been nothing but empty promises so far. The contents of my packages are perishables which are to be used for my business, hence in the event of the quality of my products being damaged, can I expect to be compensated by Singpost due to their negligence?

Hi there,
I'm concern about this issue that came up recently. I've send my customer her parcel to the correct address but it came back to me stating that it's not a valid address and unit number. This is the first time that i'm encountering it. Please look into this matter because it really took us all the hassle to reach my customer because it was important to reach on a said date for a prayer function.
Unfair and doubtful payment deduction
I have delivered a percel to customer but she claimed not received it and then Singpost deducted $550 (based on the parcel's original declared value+10%) from my salary.
Please see the attached report and screenshot show that the rest of the lost items regardless of original declared value the total deduction is only $50?
I suspect the report that WhatsApp to me by AJ VENTURE LOGISTICS (Main contractor I work for) the information was amended.

Custom duty charge
On August 3rd I send a parcel box From Singapore to India (Mizoram) 2 parcel (796017) for Lalchhanhimi Tracking number CR927277640SG and CR927277667SG.. All are my old clothes and shoes and bags they're for my Sister. But then on September 20th my sister got phone call from India (Mizoram) Zemabawk post office (796017) they call and ask her to pay the custom charge which is too high and we never can't imagine. My Sister can't afford to pay and the PostMan said they will send back to me. And I'm very disappointed and very shock for this Happened. I'm so surprised that I just send my old things for My Sister but in the end we have to pay alot of money in order to receive. People like us every month income we survive. For us is not easy to get money... Please kindly help me for this issue..
