Keeping to the law
I visited the Running Horse pub in Sunbury on Thames yesterday and was disgusted to see so many people walking around without masks on. Many people were going to the bar to get served without masks and I was asked to go to the bar to pay for my meal.
The LAW says masks must be on when moving around the pub and you should not be doing bar service, it should be table service or use the App.
Why do you break the law and endanger people's lives?
Your response please.
Bar staff
I am writing to complain about the Southfields sizzling pub in Bolton, England. Me and my family have been going to this pub since before I was born, all my family including grandparents and my 18 month daughter was present at the time of this incident. I haven't been in the pub for numerous years due to Covid and personal reasons but I decided to go and watch the England vs Germany match last week with all my family. I wasn't drinking seen as I had work in the morning so I can remember it clearly where a bar woman came storming over shouting and swearing at me telling me to get out of the pub for what reasons I do not know, my 1 and half year old baby was there whilst this bar lady continued to shout at me to get the where her exact words was "get out the fukin pub your fukin barred" I do not know what reason this is for seen as I have not been in the pub for numerous years. Seen as I was in front of my family and my daughter I did not react and simply went outside and ordered a taxi. As I was waiting for my taxi the bar woman simply shouted in front of all the pub anyone who is with me could not get served anything until I "[censored]ed off" which got a lot of the pub annoyed with me as well as the pub staff. Bare in mind all of this was in front of my daughter I would like something done about this cause I simply think it is disgusting how someone can single someone out like that in the first place and speak like that in front of a baby girl I was disgusted seen as this is a pub my family attends to every week for over 20years and is known as our local I'm very disgusted and angry that this could happen I am also sad of the fact it was my local pub and I have been treated in this way for no apparent reason.
Service
As a party of 6 we visited the Antelope Inn. Holyhead Road, Bangor July 3rd 2021, it was my husband's suggestion to meet here as we have called in many times over the years.
Unfortunately this time it was a bad experience. Because our friends had dogs we sat outside which was fine but everyone was having difficulties ordering drinks and food. We ended up that 2 of the party had finished their food before ours arrived. The food was excellent I must point out. The service on the otherhand was terrible. The weather was threatening rain so we asked if there was an umberella to go inside the hole of the table and was told no. We tried to order more drinks on the app even though we hadn't received a free drink for downloading the app but we could only get as far as a food allergen I formation statement (I took a photo of this) and yes we were in the drinks section which was to the right of the food heading. It was as if it was frozen & the staff just said we were doing it wrong which was not the case; 6 people cannot be wrong. May I also say that the pub inside or out was not busy but whilst we ate the seagulls were knocking over glasses & eating food left on other tables nearby which the children did not like & neither did we come to that. As we couldn't get another drink we left & went to the Four Croses & the staff were the total opposite of yours. It is very rare for my husband to get annoyed hence the need to inform you, especially after the lockdowns. Pubs cannot afford to loose trade & we live on the island and word can get about very quickly.
Regards
Your lighting outside
You have a pub which is directly opposite my home a while ago you cut the trees back exposing the very bright lights in the outside area 2 if which shine directly into my home and blinding when I open my front door I have complained to them direct on a number of occasions especially when left on all night during this years lockdown I just get fobbed off if nothing is done by the end of january I will be contacting the local council and let them deal with it the pub is the nine giants in llanishen cardiff cf14 told to go to a review appointment which I could not attend due to disabilities/ illness when I asked during start of lockdown told there is no way of switching them off and they are security lights but they do switch them off obviously when they remember I have the messages
Desired outcome: Lights dealt with by blocking direct beam to my home and switched off at night
Food
Went to the stanley arms in huyton liverpool were my friend and I both ordered the mixed grill
1) asked for the steak to be medium it was well done friend asked for rare to medium his was well done
2}gammon salty
3}my chicken was dry my friends was dry and burnt underneath
4}chips were soggy and over cooked
On a positive note the staff were amazing but we will never be going back to that particular establishment and we are seriously thinking of not going to another sizzling establishment again.
Voucher not working
My family and I regularly visit our local Sizzling Pub and last night a 50% off mains promotion was running but on arrival, after waiting 15 minutes to be seated despite being seen by several members of staff who failed to acknowledge us, we were told the promotion wasn't working due to technical issues. This was not followed by any kind of apology and neither was our wait to be seated. We were shocked by this as normally staff are friendly and we rarely have a bad experience. I complained directly to the pub we visited and didn't feel it was taken seriously. We will not be visiting again.
Appalling service and toilet facilities
To whom this may concern I am writing this email as I have already complained via sizzling pub itself on 1 occasion I was replied to asking for further information which I done so promptly, I have sent a further 2 emails as I am not happy with my response atal and still over a week on I am still ignored. This was a complaint about the food me and my family...

Have used sizzlers several times and always enjoy our meals, tonight I took my son for his birthday, we had starters which were lovely, I ordered the Sunday roast, the roast potatoes were hard in the middle, the mash looked like it had been sat for a long time drying out and the veg was undercooked, to top it all off I found a long hair in my veg! I didn't...

We ordered a starter of Hallumi fries, and when this arrived it was poorly presented and certainly not worth the £3-99cost. The was 4 small Hallumi fries in a small bucket with a lettuce leaf, this meant each fry was a pound each. Having ordered this starter at various different pubs this is the smallest portion we have ever seen, and is not acceptable as good value for customers. I would welcome your feedback Pat Allen

We booked a table for 4 on a Sunday 29th December 2019. on arrival no one was there to show us to our reserved table. On arrival food was Luke warm with a piece...

Hello I have just visited one of your sites in Rotherham named the King Henry pub, in which i visit regular as all my family do as we live a two minute walk away. Although today's visit has made me really angry and feel like i do not want to go back eventhough i had plans to book a 20 seater meal for my partners birthday in upcoming months here. Me and my partner both ordered the tomato and basil soup for starter and then our mains. On serving the soup to my partner (which arrived ten minutes before mine) it came with a sliced bap. I then said to the lady who served us (who was the same lady who took our order) that the menu states it is served with a warm half baguette rather than a cold sliced bap she then went on to tell me they had ran out. When my soup finally arrived it came with the same bap but it was completely frozen in the middle i then took it to the manager who felt it herself and said yes it was frozen. When coming back to my table the manager served the half baguette i then said i have been informed you had ran out of those and she said no she said your soups have been put through the system as a vegan. I then went onto say wr did not order vegan hence the steak order of the main and the chicken and ribs main for my partner. I then said even if i was began would it be acceptable to serve them a frozen bap with their soup, the manager then walked off. I recieved no apology no nothing. I am a manager at ASDA and i know for define this kind of customer service at my level or any level would be accepted and it has really made me think twice about visiting again.
Thanks
conditions
I drink regular in the wheatcheaf pub of yours in bognor regis.
The heating has been broken for over a week. Customers are sitting shaking in coats trying to keep warm. This is unacceptable.
The land lady is doing nothing to fix the problem.
Its losing customers because of this problem
Please sort it immediately.
A business should put customers first this is clearly not being done.
On top of this recently they are running out of popular beers which has never happened before. And the mens toilets are disgusting you have to wear Wellington boots to enter in there.
What has happened to our much loved community pub?
chef
After waiting fifteen minutes to be served, chef came from Kitchen and said no more food will be served as there were no clean plates, We get our money back, the staff behind counter could not believe to what had just happened, As they have never heard of this, after going to sizzerlers for 15 years never have we been so embarrassed having to go back to table and take our coats and leave
We would be grateful if you would look into this, the date was 31/10/20 at seven pm again on expectable
Kind Regards
Catherine McNee
time factor
We have been using the Chessington oak pub, moor lane, Chessington for over 5 years on our way back to Essex. But no more, today my partner and I ordered our meal at 5pm and was told it would be 30 mins so we agreed (even though the pub was empty) after 40 mins we asked where the food was and they said we told you it would take 30-40 mins which they never did. After 55 mins we asked again and they said they would investigate. It finally arrived after an hour! Absolutely disgusting, especially when the pub was empty. Asked to speak to the manager, only to be told "don't know where she is". What a way to run a pub, it is run by young boys, surely someone must be in charge. Since the change in management the place had really gone down and is always empty. You need to give someone decent in.
poor service and poor waiting time
Hi we visited one of your sizzling pubs in droylsden called the haddon hall tonight on the 17/10/19 the service was really poor and extremely slow it took over 1hour and 30 minutes for are food we had to get up and go and ask where are food was and she said the ticket machine had stop working we then waited another 20 minutes but there was still no food so we went back up and ask for a refund then to be told it was coming in 5 minutes time what I can't understand is people that was coming in after us got served there food well and truly before us I was so disappointed I lost my son two years ago and the haddon hall was one of his favorite places to eat so today is his birthday so we decided to eat at one of his favorite places but I was so up set by the time the food come out I didn't want to eat anything the place I wanted to spend his birthday let me down
food
Not received what was ordered. The young guy got the order wrong the first time. We had to go back over the order before we paid and when it came out we had onion rings missing off both gammons and the triple chicken came out on sizzling onions not what we ordered. Waiting 30 minutes to get extra drinks from bar as only one lady on work as you lad had gone to take food orders out. Very poor service.
sunday lunch - frozen blade of beef
Visit made to the above pub yesterday 8.9.19
Opened a tab 14:57 acc no. 7272 Amy
Ordered food mixed grill and Sunday lunch which was bought to us quickly.
My husbands mixed grill was fine, however as I was eating mine I said that the potatoes were Luke warm, the vegetables were harder than usual but when I eat round the edge of the beef it was stone cold. I continued to cut into the middle and the middle was complete frozen, it was only the outside of the beef that had been partially cooked.
This made me feel sick.
I took the plate to a waitress who I asked to put her finger in the middle of the meat . She said " I don't want to touch it as you have to eat it"
I told her I won't be eating it so put you finger on the frozen meat. She was shocked as to how froze it was. Another waitress also witnessed it.
She came to the table and asked if I wanted another Sunday roast. I could not even think about having another one so ordered scampi instead.
I asked to see a Manager at this stage and she told me that she was busy and would come to me as soon as she is free.
She said " that they have had a new chef and their have been lots of meals being returned due to being cold"
My order came about 10 minutes later, by this time my husband had almost ate his.
Another waitress came to the table to reassure me that the manager would be over as soon as she was free.
At 16:05 we went to the bar to pay the bill. After standing in a que Judy Manager served us and said she was sorry for not coming to us as she had no one to relieve her from the bar.
She said "that she had told the chef to make sure that the food was hot before leaving the kitchen "
We were told that all the food was not chargeable but just needed to pay for the drinks.
I am disappointing that due to staffing the manager was unable to come over to the table to see what our problem was.
I am disappointed that my Sunday lunch was spoilt after just returning from Mold 5 minutes earlier.
I am disappointed that it appears to be a regular thing with the chef sending out cold food but in my case frozen.
If I had eaten any of the meat I could have been suffering from an upset stomach and this would certainly need to be reported to trading standards and environmental health.
I appreciate I was compensated for the meals but I didn't want this I was happy to pay for a full eatable meal not one that wasn't cooked and needed to complain.
I don't wish to return to the Elizabeth arms. I have lost faith in this pub.
I look forward to your comments
Regards
Vicky Skidmore
restaurant
So we went to the resturant at 10 past 7 to have a family meal which included of three over 18s and 2 17 year olds and we were in the resturant for 20 mins deciding what to eat when we went up to order they decide to say we cannot eat there unless we are over 18. We've been to plenty of sizzler resturants where this rule does not apply Im very in happy with this experience and would like some vouchers or something in return for our shocking vists.
