Bio gel manicure
I did bio gel manicure at sorbet menlyn 30 Nov 2021. While still in the salon I noticed that the thumps were not smooth had a lot of bumps.
Notified them to fix. The lady who was doing my nails, buffed the thumbs and applied top coat. But the quality was not good. Paid R950 (incl. Flexi pedi). When I left and saw my nails on natural lighting they were all bad, thick and lumpy. The lady who did the nails was like I was bothering her when I asked her to correct.
Desired outcome: I feel like money back.
Soak off
On 25 November 2021 I booked an appointment at Menlyn Maine at 17h00 for a soak off (For reference on their system: Anri Schoeman - [protected]). The employee soaked off my gelish. I told her that I wanted to purchase a Lavender Base from Bio sculpture to treat my nailbeds, as they were quite brittle. She asked whether she can put on a coat or whether I would want to do it at home. I told her that she could put on a coat and make use of the new bottle that I was to purchase. When I paid they charged me for the following: 1. Soak off; 2. Quickie; and 3. Lavender Base. The problem is that she gave me the bottle on display which was not even full to the top! Firstly, I paid full price for a product which was not sealed, new or full and secondly, I paid for a Quickie BUT SHE USED THE PRODUCT I PURCHASED. Why did I have to pay for a Quickie when they in any event file and buff your nails after a soak off? I paid R330 in total. I am not stingy and I do not mind paying for service. I have been a client of Sorbet for a very long time. I just felt like this was unacceptable as the employee clearly wanted to up her commission on my expense.
Apologies, on Wednesday the 24th Of November 2021.
Wax
Good Afternoon
Trust this mail finds your well, I have been going to sorbet around Canal walk lower leaves for about 5 years now an today was the first time I have ever experienced a technician be unprofessional in the terms of being rough I couldn't get out there fast enough, she hurt me an I felt very uncomfortable. I don't want a refund or a free treatment I just wanted to bring this to your attention. I for sure won't be going back to that sorbet branch ever again ..
Waxing and eyebrow tint
It's the first time I have been to Sorbet sunninghill . The therapist was so rough with the waxing on my face never had such a bad experience before plus asked for full face wax, she just did the eyebrows side of my side of my face I had to tell her what was a full face wax, then asked for eyebrow tint which cost over R100 for brown in colour and but it's like a black and she says she can't do anything about it. She should have not left it for so long. I felt like they were doing me a favour, like I was getting it done for free. The staff when arrived was so unfriendly even on departure same attitude . No work ethics or good attitude they seem miserable bunch of people .
Mixed up appointment and disrespect of my time
I booked appointment for 16h00 with a specific nail technician. I waited all day as I was told that the technician would be available only at that time.
When I arrived at the store I was told there was a mix up with the booking and the technician was busy with another client.
I was asked to wait until 17h00 for when the technician would be done.
This was a serious inconvenience since I had planned my day according to the availability of 16h00. Such negligence is unacceptable. Especially because my request was specific and clear at the time of booking.
Nails - acrylic overlay
I did my nails (toes and finger nails) at Sobert nail bar, waterfall mall, Rustenburg on Friday, August 13th. I noted the acrylic applied was very thin while gel was very thick. I didn't complain then as I thought it's their way of doing things and won't cause issues later. On the toes, the gel coat was so thin and uneven.
August 14th, I noted one nail got chipped with no applied force. The chips became more apparent across most nails. It became apparent that the gel applied is just too thick, and get pressed or chipped easily. I paid R865 in total, and I have to redo my nails. Please advise on how to remedy this situation.
Desired outcome: Redo nails
Sorbet Centurion Mall - SOFTGEL TIPS
A week ago I had softgel tips applied at the Centurion Mall Sorbet. When I informed the tech that one of the nails on my thumb looked warped, she said it was because I'm a nail biter and that's why it's applied that way.
Two days later one of the tips popped right off. I only managed to go back a week after to have it fixed. By then the rest of the nails started lifting right at the cuticle. I asked the tech to shorten the nails and fix the lifting. She acknowledged that the nails were incorrectly applied to my cuticles, fixed the nail that popped off, and applied a base coat to the rest of my nails. I told her I was unhappy with the nails and reheat they should soak it off and redo it, to which she replied that they don't have time. I've spent money and wasted my time (twice) visiting this store to fix my nails and they look horrible. Even the nail she repaired looks terrible. It seems that fixing their mistakes is not a priority to retain customer satisfaction. She was in a real hurry and applied the base coat such that there's ripples across all my nail beds. I'm really unhappy with this service from sorbet and will not be visiting that branch again.
Desired outcome: Redo my nails the way they were mean to me be done
Soak off
I am very unhappy with the level of service at your store. I am not a complainer but I am now at a point where my patience has reached its quota. The current state of my fingers is a problem that was created by your therapists using the acetone that was not 100% on my hands 3 times, where I soaked for over an hour. The burning hot water as well as the 3 solutions (non acetone and the real acetone) ended up damaging my fingers (22July2021). And please note, I have been doing my nails at the same place for 3years and have never had a problem removing the product on my hands it was the first time this has ever happened to me. I usually go to the sorbet at the pavilion but because they were fully booked on that day I came to Hillcrest. I have been appreciative for the 1 parafin dip session and the hand cream coordinated by the owner but what I don't appreciate is my time and petrol being wasted because of sheer incompetence.
Last week Friday I came to the store for a parafin dip only to be turned away because "there was not enough product". I was told I would be called back as soon as the product was available, but this did not happen. I had to contact the owner myself to find out when stock would arrive so that I can come for another session. I rebooked for the same appointment for Friday (yesterday). I called in as I was still busy at work and scheduled an appointment for today (Saturday) at 10am. Only to find the appointment wasn't booked. Now I must rebook again and come back again? I Cleared my schedule for the morning and came all the way to Hillcrest for nothing! I drive to come here. It's petrol that I can't afford to waste. I can't keep going back and forth and still the issue unresolved. Like my fingers look like have some kind of disease, I have to clench my fists everyday so people don't have to see because I am embarrassed. I put coconut oil every other day and use sugar and coco nut oil to exfoliate my hands but it hasn't been enough to reduce the peeling. This has been the worst experience I could honestly cry right now. Please look at my fingers currently. Before this they were rock sold hard, as the botched soak off burnt and dried my fingers terribly. I couldn't clench my my fingers and had to keep them straight the entire time and this nightmare lasted for a whole week. Then the peeling started and that has been traumatising experience. I was hoping the 2nd parafin dip could help with the peeling so that at least my fingers could be in a better looking state but no I am forced to go back home.
Desired outcome: Parafin dip at another Sorbet
Service
I have been surporting Sorbet salons for some time now. My worst experience was last week when I visited The Club branch for my nails. First of all, the technician was clearly in a rush to finish my nails, which I could still accept. But then the salon only had one top coat to use. One of the technicians was busy with a lady having her feet done, and I had my nails done. So, the 2 technicians threw the top coat to each other in the salon, because they only had 1 to share. Worst was when I was done, and she told me, sorry she had no handcream to put on my hands. I am sure NOT to visit The CLub Sorbet again.!
Nails (gel)
Good day
I am very disappointed with the service i received at the Grove Mall Sorbet, 1st they could not pick up my voucher only to say its an invalid one, because in put an incorrect numbers.
my nails did not even last a week and all cracked and broke, and this was my natural nails, now i have to start from screech .
i am really not happy, this is my 1st time doing my nails at sorbet but it was a horrible experience.
Regards
Caroline

I had gelling and tips refill and in just 4 day two tips, fell off and a 3rd nail was cracked, so disappointed
I went and so the filling of tips with gellish manicure with Glen Marais outlet and just after 4 days 2 of the tips fell off and the third tip was cracked, I'm so disappointed and I expect it to be quality with some sort of guarantee
Desired outcome: Any form of compassion
Opi pedicure
I received the worst pedicure ever, my feet feels like it was not filed, the the lady was filing my heels it was so quicks and terrible last time I did my pedicure it was the best hence that's why I returned but this one was the worst pedicure I've done even the way my feet are painted it's terrible
Nail treatment
I visited Sorbet Greenstone to have my hand tips filled. The therapist was unqualified and left my nails bumpy. She didn't complete the fill well which caused bacteria to grow under my nail. When I went through to get my nails removed due to pain, the manager seemed sympathetic but didn't do much to address the issue.
Lash lift and tint ( or lack thereof) and brow wax ( I didn’t ask to completely remove my brows)
I have just finished having the worst treatments I have ever had at sorbet.
I have been loyal to the sorbet in Cavendish square, Cape Town since I moved here.
There was one woman named Thembi who was brilliant, however I experienced two under qualified or severely under experienced technicians today.
I went to get my brows waxed and tinted, and I was specific when explaining how little I wanted waxed off. The technician left them asymmetrical and in horrible shape.
As for the lash lift, that's not exactly cheap either, it doesn't even look like I had them lifted or tinted at all. What I did walk out of there was glue on my eyelids and very unhappy after wasting my birthday vouchers. You can would not have known I had the lash lift at all - swear she just put glue on my eyelids for 10 minutes. And then sat on her phone typing the rest of the time. The woman at reception could see I was unhappy however charged me regardless of asking me what I was unhappy with or how she could help. She was not interested in the fact that I was leaving the store unhappy, she was just happy I was still paying for the services rendered regardless of poor quality service I encountered. Shocking quite frankly.
Waste of R650 which was supposed to be a nice birthday spoil, ended up with nothing but dissatisfaction.
I've heard many bad things about Sorbet but decided to give you the benefit of the doubt when I should have listened to the purple giving you bad reviews.
Desired outcome: Refund me the money wasted on poor services when I could try another sorbet that actually hires people that are qualified for what they are supposed to do.
Service
Visited the Sorbet store Rondebosch branch. I received the worst pedicure ever. Nails was cut too short and files skewed. Nail polish was applied terribly. Could not complete the pedi as the therapist ran away over the time I had to leave she didn't even apply the second coat. Emailed the owner of the store, I have still not received a reply, clearly Soraya doesn't care. Pathetic service received...will not recommend.
Compact facial cleanser
I bought this product from clicks in greenstone, charged it for the recommended 4 hours till the light switched off, while using it the first time it switched off every 30 sec and I had to switch it back on to finish using it, was very frustrating but I thought it still got the job done!
The second time I used it, was the very next day again it switched off after 30 seconds and would not switch back on.
I charged it overnight and when I tried to used it again the following day it switched off again and would not switch back on! Surely the product should last longer than a few min in total before having to be recharged? Very dissatisfied in this product as I have not even been able to get 2 full face washes out of it.
Desired outcome: Replacement
Service delivery
Arrived for my appointment to apply gel. Staff did not great and were very unfriendly and unprofessional. Masks worn below their noses and just appeared unkempt. The staff dealing with me bridgette, did not even know what I was there for. She did not know her sorbet nail polish colours or that certain products had changed. I requested a colour, which I...

Treatments at a Sorbet Salon leave one feeling anything but feeling spoiled and pampered. From therapists more interested in conversations with other therapists to paying attention to what they're doing, e.g filing skin on ankles instead of heels. Saying they need a medal for filing heels. Getting another therapist to give them a massage when doing a pedicure. Just an overall feeling of ‘doing you a favour' If a therapist does not understand that people are in a salon for a good treatment and to leave satisfied, they shouldn't be in the industry
Desired outcome: Take action to ensure that customers leave Sorbet happy and feeling pampered
Poor service, under qualified staff
On the 21 December 2020 I visited the Sorbet Branch Delcairn Kloof. After 35 mins I was attended to by the technician called Zee, unprofessional and definitely lacking skill. She filed my skin, didn't apologise and then began the acrylic application on my nails. The application was uneven, I questioned her about her method.
She then muttered something, threw her visor on the floor and stormed off.
I sat for 20 mins with one hand of incomplete acrylic paint on my nails.
I was shocked, is this really Sorbet Salon?.
I then asked for a Manager/ owner to seek some kind of assistance.
The store has no manager.Owner not available.
A technician called Cee eventually completed my nails.Thank you lady!
Note to the Sorbet Group:This Sorbet brand is upmarket. You have ruined your reputation by giving Franchises to people who lack the skill, knowledge and professionalism. In a time of Covid pandemic there is no screens between the clients and technicians at the kloof Branch. The owner is not present. The salon is being run by a bunch of loud, unruly so called technicians.
Sorbet is affiliated to Clicks, who is a partner on many rewards programmes.Clicks needs to rethink its partnership with Sorbet!.
The Sorbet group needs to do some intensive house cleaning if it still wants to be a player in the beauty market.
Zee from Kloof needs to be dismissed immediately.
The Franchise needs to be taken away from the present owner as there are no contact number sfor the owner.
Owner of store and overall experience
Good Day,
Please note that the complaint that I'm filing is with regard to the owner of the Sorbet store as well as the eyelashes I had done and the pedicure I had done. I had come in to have my eyelashes done and was handled brutally, had chemicals poured harshly into my eye area and was ill for the rest of the day. My symptoms were headaches, difficulty breathing due to the chemicals, nausea, diarrhea, eyes tearing, red and swollen and my face was swollen. Whilst having my lashes done the pedi Irish filed my toes so harshly that it was bleeding and dropped the fan on my foot. The owner made no attempt to rectify the situation and instead was condescending toward me and assaulted me in the store. I have never been treated so badly by anyone and the customer service of the store personnel is very much a reflection of the owners mannerisms and lack of professionalism and etiquette.
This was an awful experience of note, leaving me feeling humiliated, afraid to enter another Sorbet store and terribly wronged.
Your assistance with this would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks,
anonymous
Good day
Complaint - nail techn
On the 18th of december 2020 @ 16:45 I had an appointment at sorbet noordheuwel (robert broom drive). I wanted an acrylic fill and gel overlay
All started well and the nail tech adviced me to rather soak off the acrylic and re-apply as you should actually (and sorbet advices) remove your acrylic after every 3rd application. I then said that this would only be my 3rd fill... she then said that even the 3rd fill of acrylic is already not adviced...
So, the acrylic was removed.
I asked for ombre acrylic and that I would want my nails a bit shorter (but not too much). she then clipped my little finger's nail and asked if this was the length I wanted and I confirmed that it was the length. she then took my hand in hers, holding my other four fingers and started cutting... after she was done, I looked at my nails with disgust as it was way to short, not even close to the little finger's nail length. she then said that one would never be able to have it the same length. I was amazed at this as I just couldn't understand this statement... how could my other nails never be the same length as the little finger's nail? I asked if she could explain her statement as clearly I was confused. she repeated the statement. then she said she would apply tips on my finger to get it the same length as the other hand's nails, which at this stage was just as long as it was before, it has not been touched, cut or filed down to "the shorter" lengt I requested. I replied that I didn't come for nail tips and that I was just not happy. not once did she apologise! she just insisted on tips.
I then asked to see the manager. a lady came and I explained, she was friendly and suggested that they sculp my nails longer. altough I apreciated the gesture I was just shocked and not happy. I felt that I actually just wanted to get out of the salon as I was very upset. I asked that another nail tech jus file all the nails down to this disgusted short length and to apply gel so I can get out of the salon. the previous nail tech left and another came and finished.
My nails and my profession:
Due to my profession in the medical industry I work with alot of alcohol and different disinfectants, hence the reason for the acrylic overlay I always do as it just lasts so much longer than just gel. also because I have very soft nails.
Now I have short nails and only gel. a recipe for disaster in my profession. it is now the 19th, a day later and already I can feel that my nails are bending as they are so very soft.
I have been a regular client at sorbet cradlestone (when they were still operational) and now at sorbet noordheuwel. I often take my daughter, my mother and my sister there. I cannot understand how sorbet could have such an unprofessional person work in their salon.
... and I even had to pay full price for her mistake...
Your 100% geust satisfaction is a 100% no!
