I signed up for level pay plan program in January 2011 to pay $120 each month, and noticed on Feb bill statement that my "actual usage" reading was $347. I have lived in the home for 3 years and never had a bill over $160 for 1 month. With the Level Pay Plan you pay the same amount each month then any remaining balance is due at the end of the year. It seems they bill you higher so that you have an outstanding balance. I requested an inquire regarding the bill and received no response, but was told there were corrections to the bill. No correction is reflected on the bills I have received. I want to find someone to investigate the actions of this company. I have read many complaints and do not understand why as citizens we have to withstand such injustice. We are being cheated and with no recourse.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
The previous year our electric bill would average between $80 to $100 a month, then 3 months later after they had changed to digital meter boxes, our bills had jumped tremendously to $230? nothing has ever changed as far as usage, if anything we used our air conditioning more last year than this year. We had complained to Edison but it seems as we could just not win an argument, it was their word against ours. I was asking if there is something out there "a meter" for consumer to use so we could compare the meter reading versus edison as how could we really tell if they are not cheating us whenever they want & however much they want. I was literally balling in tears with frustration the dishonesty that businesses are so blinded with greed. The post above is right, how can we as citizens withstand with no recourse? could it possibly be that the government may have a kickback on this as well is that why everything is being silence? Hmmm.. time to unite & get this giants pay for their actions, more people need to stand... :)
Everyday at work Pete Pacheco, my foreman, made fun of my religion.
You would be amazed What clout a diary or record of incidents has in a court of law. keep your records clear, concise and let the perps stew in their own juice .Any substantiated witness statement is obviously a bonus but is not essential.
In the beginning was the Word...
I am having the same problem. From Feb. to Sept. 2013 no one lived in the house. Only the refrigerator was on. They admitted they change the meter in Feb. and that all of our reads from then on were estimated based on last year's usage. Our bills were $300-$400 per month over the summer when no one was there, no air conditioning etc. They stated they had no actual kWh numbers to generate the bill. It was all estimated and that they couldn't read the meter because of a locked gate. Two months ago I complained and they only refunded $295 dollars. Sept. and Oct. bills were $56.00 and based on actual reads of the meter. They have way over charged us. I am in battle with them now and will report them to the Better Business Bureau and get my husband involved who is an attorney. This sounds like a good project for a class action litigator.
