Got a kids size vanilla shake. Was eating it with my straw end as it was too thick to drink through the straw. Noticed dark streaks. Assumed it might be chocolate remnants from using the same mixer, if they still use mixers. Didn't detect a chocolate taste. When I got close to the bottom, it was hard packed about 1/2" with a dark, maybe brown or caramel...

Steak 'n Shake Mobile app and can’t get anyone to respond.

I placed an order through the app and used my credit card. I got a message that it didn't go through and I would need to use another credit card. I did that and got the same message. My daughter went into the store and used her debit card. Now we have been charged 3 times for the same order. I cannot get anyone to talk to me from any division of Steak and Shake.

Desired outcome: I want the 36.07 that was charged to my card but wouldn’t go through the mobile app.

I was just at the US 31 and stop 11 location in Indianapolis. The female running the drivethru was first very rude, then attempted to insert my chip card into the reader 4 seperate times all times getting the error beep. The repeated attempts then locked my debit card for suspected fraud and "declined" when I said that it declined because she attempted to...

Steak 'n Shake Food issues

hi we ate inside on December 8th 2002 our burdwers were undercooked fries were all cold and the 5 way had a hair in it, we informed the emplyee that was there a blonde girl with blue and red in her hair and she said deal with it she was playing very loud music and said and swearig and didnt care about the issue we would appreciate a call back or email on this issue and are funds back for the food being under cooked and cold and the hair found in it, this is sad how one emplyee cant take care of a issue like this, this employee was very rude very loud and did not fix the issue, please call us to discuss this matter this is my second compliant and no replys as of yet email [protected]@sbcglobal.net or phone [protected] Thanks Jerry

Steak 'n Shake our food

we got food today Dcember 8th 2022 it was around 7.00pm food had a hair in it and the burgers were incorrect on how we ordered them fries were ice cold and the employees were goofing off and the blonde girl with red and blue in here hair was swearing in front of customers the 5 way chilli doidnt not have onions or cheese terrible service i would like a refudn for this order

Steak 'n Shake Gift card

I received a $100 gift card for Steak N Shake. When we go to use it all the restaurant says it won't go through. We have never used it and we get charge $1.50 a month for non use. I have contacted the company through email and they have my phone number and still no response. Can we get a gift card that works? Or get the money back? I won't ever recommend anyone buying a gift card from this company.

Steak 'n Shake Gift card

I received a $50 gift card from my co-workers when I retired in 2019... Due to

Covid and Steak n Shake shutting down for that and then for remodeling I

was unable to enjoy the benefits of this card. Finally found our Steak n Shake has re-opened and went there for dinner...much to my surprise, I soon realized that I had been charged $1.50 a month for 12 months because I did not use my card... How can I use my gift card when the restaurant is closed? Eighteen dollars charged for something that was not under my control seems a little excessive the circumstances. Steak 'n Shake Food

I went to steak and shake and there was one other car and mine it still took 45 minutes to get my order and the food was the nastiest food I have ever been served. The total cost of three meals was over $25. Out of three value meals not one person was willing to eat the hamburgers they were so filled with grease and the fries were just as bad. The food was so bad nobody ate any of it. Everyone agreed it's the worst meal they've ever been served I was so disgusted I don't know who to call or complaint

Steak 'n Shake Store located at 1919 N College Ave, Bloomington, IN 47404

I went to your store (I believe they said it was store #242) around 1:00 p.m. today and made my order. When they called my name to pick up my meal, the tray did not have my strawberry milk shake. Unfortunately, no one was at the counter where I picked up my food.

I saw a worker in the kitchen area and tried to get his attention to tell him I was missing my milk shake. He either did not hear me or he ignored me. As a result, I tried harder to get his attention, again to no avail.

Since no one was available to advise me, I looked around the corner where the grill is located and was two of your employees immediately yelled at me and told me to get out of that area. They way they went about it (yelling at me) publicly embarrassed me.

I responded that if they had some one at the counter when I picked up my food, I would not need to search for an employee in order to receive my milk shake.

The employee at the grill (he said he was a "group leader" of something like that) clearly did not like my complaint. He became very belligerent toward me. The other employee who also yelled at me for entering the designated area was also nasty to me, but not as nasty as the "group leader".

I have always loved Steak and Shake food. While I believe the quality of your products have been reduced, I still like them better than McDonalds, etc.

However, after experiencing such disrespect while simply trying to each lunch, I do not intend to use Steak and Shake again, at least never again at that store.

I hope you take this complaint seriously in that I have never filed a complaint against a company in my life. I appreciate your attention to this matter and would welcome a response. ([protected]@juno.com) Thank you!

Steak 'n Shake Gm gene Higgins

The date of when it happened was 9/30/2022 I was working and gene came in she the gm at steak n shake in nicholasville ky she started yelling at me that morning and I let it go then around 2:30 I step in the office asked if I could take break and she yea when u get back form break I need talk about the drama that's going that u started I told her I haven't said anything she started yelling I took the headset off and toosed it on desk and told her I quit and 20hrs later I see voicemail on my phone she needs to fried and let go as gm at steak shake I'm contacting lawyer to press harrssment charges

Desired outcome: Would like to have job or at least see her get fired

Steak 'n Shake Store #256 Saint peters, Mo

We dined in and ordered two Frisco burgers, one of them was under cooked and not prepared as ordered. Service inside was terrible . When we asked to cook the burger right we were told that is how they cook them and it would be a problem if they were to cook it over again . We got a refund but I will probably never go back again. We have been going to stake n shake for over 30 years and this is the first time we have gone in for our food and the new system is terrible , the staff could of cared less if we got what we ordered. This is not the stake n shake we have known for years

Steak 'n Shake Terrible product

I am upset because I spent 20 dollars on food and what I got was not worth it at all. The burger was old. It was not hot n fresh. The bun was hard. It was like they re dressed an old burger with lettuce pickle and onion.. but the meat was warm n old. Like it's been sitting in the microwave for hours and the fries were cold also. That is not what I expected at all.. The food was not fresh it was gross and I wasted 20$. I won't go back to steak n shake

Steak 'n Shake If I didn't want a server to wait on me, I would have gone to McDonald's

I recently went to Steak and Shake in Paducah. I used to like going there, not now! You have to order at a kiosk and pay, then they call your name, you have to go to counter to pickup your order. If I wanted to wait on myself I would have gone to McDonald's or stayed at home and ate!

Steak and Shake has really gone down hill on service and quality of food!

Not going back ever!

Steak and Shake you suck!

Desired outcome: Go back to having servers to take orders and wait on customers!!!!!!!

Steak 'n Shake food order

I ordered food at a Steak N Shake in St Charles MO and they really screwed my order up and when I asked them to get what I ordered they had a melt down

I ordered a frisco melt and large cheese fry and large regular un sweet ic3e tea

I got a frisco melt and regular ice tea and a small fry and that isnt what I ordered.

Steak 'n Shake cleanliness of store

very turned off by condition of this store it smelled dirty when we sat down

the wall beneath the drink station was streaked with drinks as well as the floor underneath

the floors were sticky

THE CEILING VENTS WERE CLOGGED AND FILTHY

the butter burger had a slab of unmelted butter slabbed on the burger

the garlic burger bun had so much butter on top of bun that you could not hold it

we eat here often but dont think we will be back

Steak 'n Shake Double steak burgers and fries

I always do delivery thru the steak and shake app I always get cold fries always but I expect that butt a cold [censored] burger with the wrong items not acceptable, this the second time I’m a regular customer I always get 2 double steak burger meals only ketchup and mayo on the burger this the second time they gave me a cold [censored] burger with pickles I threw it in the garbage the bread and the entire sandwich taste like pickles🤮please replace or refund my order

Steak 'n Shake Service

I order online to pick up so I can get where I need to go I wait the 20 minutes drive up call store as they say to do “oh we are short staffed you’ll have to come in… “ nobody acknowledges me standing her now 10 minutes there are 16 people in dining room eating

All have their food

I wish I could use the excuse we are short staffed at my job .. this has become an intolerable excuse

No excuse actually for poor service I’ll never come back

Steak 'n Shake Cutting metal with saw during g business hours

Today, beginning at 11:30am, a guy began working in Steak N Shake Store #674. Not only loud pounding with hammer, etc., but using a saw to cut metal, which sent the acrid smell and minuscule shavings into the entire dining area. I could actually smell and taste it, along with my food. It was HORRENDOUS- people were getting up with their food and trying to escape the fumes. Unacceptable. Unhealthy. Lawsuit-type situation. I LITERALLY COULD NOT BELIEVE IT.

I spoke with the Manager. I know where she was cooking, you could only smell the burgers cooking. She couldn't believe it was being done when customers were here but was unable to rectify the situation. I stopped eating and literally wrapped up my triple steak burger.

I have PRAISED THIS PARTICULAR STEAK N SHAKE to many people, for some time now. At least 8 members of my personal family patronize this particular store, aside from friends ad other Foodies I encounter.

Please either operate with appropriate oversight OR alter your renovation/repair times when customers are not in your store.
