In November 2023, 2 weeks after moving in, my boyfriend was in the shower and I was in the living room. All of a sudden it sounded like something was pouring down and as I looked up, the water was leaking from the shower into my living room, through the ceiling and through the smoke detector. I immediately contacted customer support and I was advised to cut my water off until they could get a technician out to me. Needless to say, my water was off for a day. 2 different techs were sent to my house. The first one stated he would have to cut open the living room ceiling to find out where the leak was coming from. The next tech came out checked the walls in the bathroom and stated he did not see a leak and the water in the ceiling that leaked probably came from a previous leak (prior to us moving in) and the water never drained all the way out. The tech painted a strip of paint where the water leaked and said we should be fine. a month later I'm getting a chargeback stating the technician found no leak and that WE were filing the tub past the overflow and advised me they would not be taking the charge off. Till this day, my family and I have ONLY taken showers since moving in this house. Sylvan homes is a scam and they do not want to be responsible for the half [censored] jobs they are doing on these houses before they are renting them. Not to mention I moved into this house with a 4 month old and for the first 6 weeks we had no heat in our bedroom because the master bedroom was the only room without a vent for the heat to flow. I refuse to pay a chargeback of $425 when this leak was no fault of ours.
