Dr luu
I have been seen by dr. Luu two times within a years time feeling like I have a sinus infection. Informing her that I feel it's bacterial and need antibiotics. She only recommends nettie pot treatment and states it's a cold. I have had to seek treatment elsewhere and each time it has been diagnosed sinus infection with antibiotics perscribed. This second bad experience with the same doctor has given me a bad opinion of teledoc. I was speaking to co workers and hey stated they have had the same experience with this dr as well. I understand it's hard to diagnosis without visualization, but if this is going to be the model of teledoc maybe listening to the patient should be more commonly practiced.
Dr. Simon
My name is shameka allen. I am sending this message to first of all report the doctor and returned my call 1 hour and 30 minutes late after the appointed I requested a call back on yesterday. I asked to be called back at 5:00pm cst, but instead I called your office at 6:00pm after not hearing from anyone, then I got a return call from her around 6:30pm. I told her when speaking with her that I had a sinus infection and I was coughing up and blowing out yellow mucus, which I know is an infection. I also informed her that I was in alot of pain from the drainage I am receiving in my chest. She told me it was nothing she could do about it but call in a nasal spray. I told her that I have nasal spray and needed an antibiotic to clear up the infection, then all of a sudden she hung up the phone in my face! I was stunned that she responded like this and I waited to see if she would return my call back but I never got a call back from her. I'm in desperate need of an antibiotic to stop this infection and would like someone to call me back when I am able to talk after work hours at 5:00 cst today 01/19/18. I also would like to report dr. Simon to her manager for her poor skills in handling my medical concerns and hanging up the phone in my face. I will not be disrespected this this manner by no one. Please call me at [protected]. My confirmation number was #confirmation #: 3818464. Thanks in advance.
I was just enrolled in Teledoc through my work. I am concerned with all of the reviews I have been reading. Please honestly answer.. do these doctors prescribe medication over the phone.. prescription medication, not just over the counter meds? Is this truly a consult, or are the doctors instructed not to prescribe, but instead refer? It seems like a waste of time and money to even call. I am an adult. I have lived in this body my whole life. I know what bronchitis feels like.. what a sinus infection feels like.. what an ear infection feels like. Should I call or should I not? It seems by the responses I have read, it would be a complete waste of time.
If you are a Teledoc... please respond and answer honestly. I am thanking you in advance.
I'm sorry the doctor was rude to you, but infections can be both viral and bacterial, and antibiotics do not treat viral infections. Without knowing which type of infection you had, prescribing antibiotics can do more harm than good. They are not a magical cure for every type of illness.
Poor service
Just had my 1st interaction with Teledoc as it is part of our companies benefit package. If you like being read to from a script, this may be the service for you. Feeling sick and thought it would be great a have a video call and not have to leave the house. Video call requested, received phone call. The what I hope was a physician whom called me, went through a very brief medical history which was fine. Then he asked symptoms. I related my symptoms and he then I felt read from a script of what I had and told me 4 or 5 over the counter products I needed to take. I assured him I have had this before and it's not viral, as was his assumption. I told him I wouldn't have wasted his time, my time or the money to call if over the counter products had worked in the past. He got irate and said "no antibiotics for you, it's a cold" and then hung up the phone on me. Entire call lasted 2 minutes and 53 seconds. Have left a message at Teledoc NY office. Will be interesting to see if I hear from them. Guess I should have known better... Will try and get an appointment with my physician.
Little more than a con game between teladoc and pharma...
Called teladoc and was charged their $10.00 fee. Their service? They called me in three name brand and very expensive over the counter medications.
One was a $69.00 nasal spray. The others were throat lozenges and mucinex.
They made a big production of calling me in "three prescriptions".
Obviously they called in the name brands as they have agreements with the manufacturers of these products.
Total ripoff!
Service
Teledoc has been a true waste of time! I have been through 3 consults where I had identical symptoms when I went to my doctor and got the same or similar antibiotics. But when I call teledoc, they always say it's viral. I have yet to be prescribed anything. I am paying them and my doctor and getting nothing for the $45 they charge me. I tried one more time today for my son, who went to the doctor 10 days ago, where he was diagnosed with a viral infection. His symptoms was a sore throat. Since then, his throat has been continuously sore, his ears hurt, his glands are swollen, he has pockets of puss on the back of his throat, and he's hoarse. Do you want to guess what this genius doctor said? It sounds viral, but I would take him to the doctor to get a strep test. It doesn't sound like a sinus infection. I told him that he has had these symptoms on and on his whole life (my son is 12). If it's sinus, they prescribe him amoxicillin. But guess what, if it's strep, they prescribe him... You guessed it... Amoxicillin. But the doctor in anderson, sc would not. This is the last time I will ever use them and I am certainly sending an email to everyone who works with my company to cease using them ever again!
Over SEVERAL days i tried to get a doctor to explain why my prescription that was supposed to be sent to the pharmacy a month ago was never sent. NO doctor called after several days.
A robo call came through asking if i want to stay in the que a day after making the ‘visit’. A person then called a couple days later to see if i need to keep my call, then later that day a text came through canceling my 'visit' because they claim they tried to contact me. My cell phone that received the text never rang. I sat by my phone the whole day waiting and it never rang but they canceled my 'visit'.
The service is a joke and a scam. Even after talking to a doctor a month ago there was no prescription sent to the pharmacy. Now they want to cry 'we are inundated with corona virus'. They weren't a month ago and still failed!
An absolute waste of time. The phone call lasted four minutes, the physician did not listen to my chief complaints and instead focused his attention on an upper respiratory infection when my concern was lower respiratory irritation. Prescribed nasal spray and a cough syrup, completely irrelevant to my reason for calling.
It’s my understanding, ‘office visits’ are to treat the patient and their symptoms, not to create his own tunnel visioned diagnosis and perfunctory plan of care.
No person benefits from such lackadaisical efforts.
What a shame.
Worst service
On 01/05/2017, I enrolled to teladoc and chose a doctor visit for my wife. After scheduling the visit, they said they are facing technical issue in the video conferencing with the doctor and assured that the doctor will call on the mobile number. After 30 mins a lady (doctor) called and asked about the severity of the pain. My wife rated it 7 (on a scale of 1-10), then she immediately replied to take her to er.
What they have promised they didn't deliver. If that would be the case then why should one waste time, money and energy on the teladoc. I still don't understand on what severity scale they would be treating the patients or they would be saying visit doctor (in person) once you schedule a doctor visit with them by paying $45. This way they would get money and ask to patient to visit a medical facility/er in person.
After ten days (01/15/2017) i've registered a complaint but till now i/my wife didn't hear back anything from them.
I don't recommend this app to any one. Kindly don't waste your time, money and energy. They are pathetic in service and one of my worst experience.
Teladoc has been a waste of my time. I called 3 weekends ago and was sick they claimed they couldn't verify my insurance and instead of my $15.00 copay I should have they wanted to charge me $45.00 And when they could verify it they wouldn't repay me back it would have to come back through my insurance. So that following Monday I called them to make sure if I needed them after hours or on a weekend again it would be good to go. I was verified and was told I have a $15.00 copay. Now this weekend I called because I'm still having drainage but over the worst of what I had. Now they claim they can't verify it again and want to charge me that $45.00 copay. Again I'm mot going to fall for that. It's Christmas Eve and when I get back to work Tuesday I'm going to call and give them hell plus contact my work and let them know this so called service we are supposed to have is a joke. It should be called Telajoke not Teladoc and Diruis was a [censor] on the phone.
asked for refund
About a month ago I signed up for Teladoc online. I was under the impression that they provided mental health services as it was on their website. After I paid the money then I was able to log on and see that no melt mental health doctors were available to me. After several phone calls about three or four different people someone finally gave me the answer of this 'service is not available to you.'
I asked if I would be able to pay extra money in order to use this service but since I was not part of a large group health insurance company I could not do that. I felt disappointed in this.
So it turns out I had to change health insurance companies and my new company did offer Tele dock so I called and asked if I could get a refund for the $160 I paid to sign up because I had never used the actual services. They claim that when I signed up in the terms and conditions it's stated that I would not able to get a refund should I cancel the service. I do not remember seeing this at all. So I asked several times because I didn't use this for a while I can you not refunded to me and basically their answer was because we don't do that.
It is clear to me that this company does not care about people it only cares about money whatever they can do to get your money. The customer service is terrible it took me a lot of calling around to get a hold of people and to get the answers that I needed. And tell her doctors not already come with your insurance I would not recommend seeking them out.
phone consultations
Today I attempted to use teladoc's service for the first time... Pure waste of time, energy, and money! First off, they make you go through "registration" with a representative that is obviously foreign and difficult to understand. After about a 40 min conversation with them... They then tell you to pay your co'pay and a dr will call within the next hr. After abt 20-30 mins I did receive my phone call. The promptness was impressive but the dr was rude, condescending, and not helpful at all. I had all the signs and symptoms of a sinus infection, (which my pcp has often treated with antibiotics with no problem). This so called teladoc dr. Proceeded to cut me off multiple times as I tried to discuss with her my concern. She then recommended over the counter drugs I already told her I tried with no results, stating it seemed like I "just had allegies". I hardly think "just allergies" would involve green mucus and sinus pressure/headaches. She then proceeded to tell me "my pcp can prescribe what she desires but she didn't know me and didn't feel I needed prescriptions". So basically I was charged to wait and for them to tell me they won't assist me. I will never use their service again!
The worst service ever
This is the worst service ever. The people are mean, refuse to give medication so what is it good for? They are suppose to help you out if you have a flu bronchitis etc but they dont. We live in a rural area, with no urgent care, the woman that reply to my call was mean, said she could not prescribe without a chest xray and see me, so awful, well why would we call a telephone Dr, what are they useful for if they have to seeyou isnt it insane?
On top of it telling me to have someone drive me two hours to an urgent care on a saturday evening?
These people are worthless and dangerous because you rely on the service and they do not respond.
I will certainly let my insurance know because they pay for a service we do not receive. It used to be good two years ago but it went down the drain, they did prescribe shampoo for my hubby, s hair is insane
After three failed attempts to set up a phone consultation with a doctor, the Teladoc staff finally were able to have a doctor get through to me. The Teladoc staff were great in terms of their efforts to help set up the visit. The problem was the service provided by the doctor responding to the consult request. It didn't take long to figure out this doctor was not fully engaged in listening to, or giving, any medical details. He gave short, quick statements, and stated several times, "I can't give you an answer to that over the phone, " and made references to me needing to see my local doctors more. It was painfully obvious he wanted to end the conversation quickly as possible. Too bad for my health insurance company...they don't know what poor service they are paying for. I would have been better off waiting for the return of my local Primary Care doctor from her holiday vacation.
I see that I am not the only one who has had a bad experience(s) with Telecoc. This service was rolled out as an additional benefit and supplement to our existing health care plan. So far I have had 4 phone messages go unreturned, 2 emails offering 2 hour response have gone unanswered for 4 days (96 hours). Fortunately I did not have an immediate medical concern, rather I was looking for suggestions concerning local neurology care and facilities. Not sure if my company is yet aware of what they are receiving for the price that they are paying. We are due to complete surveys on this service next month, curious to see what our other associates experience has been.
My daughter called as she had strep throat. The dr. Who called referred her to urgent care. she is out of state and she just said she doesn't have a primary care physician when I called to express my displeasure I was told that the reason they sent an Urgent Care is because she does not have a primary care doctor this is a service that is promoted by the insurance company to keep people from going to the doctor because they lose too much time and work and they can just call the service and the doctor can call the prescription in over the phone what are correct they won't do thatdon't waste your money on this service
Medical treatment
Called on a Wednesday, paid the $40 consultation fee for a UTI. Gave me an antibiotic. Monday morning still having same symptoms, called to get a different antibiotic and they said I'd have to pay another $40 to get a different medication prescribed. So, basically I paid $40 for nothing because now I have to go to Urgent Care to get an antibiotic that will work. Will NEVER use Teladoc again and advise you not to use them either. Negative experience because all they are after is YOUR MONEY and don't really care about YOUR HEALTH.
Agree-- as patients we need to ban together and file a lawsuit
Refused to give refund!! They will steal from you anyway they can!!
I have been suffering with insomnia. I called Teledoc before I set a phone appointment to make sure they do cover insomnia problems. The customer service man said that although it is not on the "covered list", to go ahead and call them because the list is not 100% accurate. So I did. The doctor said immediately that he was not able to help me because of the type of prescription I would need calls for an in-person visit. He told me to call Teledoc and request a refund. I called Teledoc and they refused to refund me my $40! The very rude customer service lady said I had clicked on agreement to the "terms of service" which I do not recall doing. I asked her where the terms of service showed on the computer screen and she directed me to the very bottom right of the screen which was outside the customer information screen. I had to use my bottom scroll bar and scroll it to the left and down, just to locate their small words in blue, "Terms of Service". I explained the conversation I had with the gentleman before the Dr. called me and she still refused to give me a refund! I told her this was stealing from a patient when they do not show this "Terms of Service" at the customer info screen. All she kept saying was, "I am sorry, but you clicked the agreement button." I kept telling her, "No I did not, I do not remember seeing such a button!" And I was not able to go find that button on the screen without signing up again for another appointment! So I paid $40 just to hear only one sentence from the doctor say, "I am sorry I am unable to help you with an insomnia issue."
I will NOT ever use Teledoc again! They are greedy only wanting your money and will use that "Terms of Service" as their so called legal way out of refunding you any money!
File a complaint with bbb.org and file a complaint on your state ATTORNEY GENERAL
Do a chargeback. It worked for me. If they get enough of these they will have to change to a more ethical business practice.
The same exact thing happened to me! they refused to give me a refund when I was trying to get a refill on a med I'm on all the time for PMDD, but apparently that is a 'behavioral med' and not on the list. That's what the doctor told me for the 15 seconds we were on the phone!
My husband called for a generic antibiotic for cellulitis and was refused!
WHAT IS THE POINT OF Teledoc?! NOT HELPFUL AT ALL!
Not useful
I found this service to be a ripe - off. They claim to treat bronchitis. I have a long history of bronchitis. Every time I get a respiratory infection it turns to bronchitis. My doctor prescribes antibiotics and it clears up within a week. 1st consult the doctor was very rude told me I did not have bronchitis, that I had a bacterial infection. Impossible to...

I first found Teladoc.com through a sponsored Bing search result. I signed up for their service as I travel frequently and my doctor is only working part-time (he's half-retired) and he doesn't take calls outside of 3 days a week. The first two times I requested a consult from a Teladoc doctor it went fine. I had a sinus infection once and a minor leg...

With Teladoc membership, you are promised timely access to real medical doctors "anytime, anywhere".in fact their site also states "Teladoc is there for you 24/7 wherever you may be." But there's a caveat. If you use Teladoc "too often", you are quickly scolded by mail. They sent you a form letter telling you to use the Teladoc service less and see your...

I had the same bad experience. She told me to go to the emergency room for an ear infection. I dont have that kind of money. it was HORRIBLE.
