Incorrect billing
As a consumer of the product offered by TX Tag I of course am willing to pay for services rendered, i.e. driving on a road. What I am unwilling to accept as anything less than illegal is that they can tack on additional fee of "mail fee". This is predatory and made up to increase profit margins and charging more than the prepaid postage stamp of $0.05 cent...

I need to launch an investigation on one of your employees Gracie Batts, who works at the 2420 Ridge point Dr, Austin, TX 78754. Want to start with, this person needs a random drug test. She smokes marijuana on shift everyday with other coworkers including the security guard. Also, Gracie Batts has been clearing people toll bills, in exchange of money under the table. This has been covered up by her management team. This is the type of person you have working for you, and action needs to taking immediately

Tolls
We have a txtag yet we continue to get bills in the mail. We even have a credit on our balance. The latest incident is we owe $5.26 but my prepaid balance on the tag is $11 something. We have been dealing with this the WHOLE time we have had a txtag. Probably 4 yrs now. It never ends. I have enabled the auto pay and even added money to the txtag. ugh
Claimed loss: All the extra charges for not having a txtag, even when we do. I don't know maybe $100
Desired outcome: To refund all of the extra charges. I don't mind paying what I owe but this is insane.

TX TAG Tolls not being paid
I signed up for TxTag when my new job started and I would be using toll roads daily. Upon sign up I provided a credit card and confirmed that this agency covered all the toll roads in the DFW area.
Around July I started receiving bills from NTTA that the tolls were not being paid.
I've called TxTag several times.
I've filed requests through their portal.
I've received emails, with no information.
To date nothing has been done.
I signed up with NTTA so my tolls would start being paid.
I will be cancelling TxTag, but fear doing so will negatively impact their willingness to help me get this resolved.
I just want the NTTA tolls paid. I have already paid these tolls through TxTag and NTTA states they have received no payment from TxTag.
Surely these 2 companies work together and can resolve this without me having to take half a day off work to wait on hold and work through it.
Please help me.
Claimed loss: $967.58
Desired outcome: Pay off the NTTA bill that TxTag should have been paying this whole time or refund me the amounts TxTag charged me so I can pay the NTTA bills.Total charge from NTTA as of 11/2023: $967.58
TXTag customer service and website
I recently had a terribly frustrating experience with TxTAG's billing system, and I feel compelled to share my experience in this review. I've been a TxTAG customer for a while and have had my share of challenges, but the recent ordeal pushed me over the edge. For the past three months, I've been trying to pay my bill through their online "Pay a Bill"...
Read full review of Texas Department of Transportation / TxTag.orgReceiving txtag bills that are not mine
For the past couple of years I have been receiving total bills that do not apply to me. I have called on this and each time the charge is deleted, I'm given a dispute number, and told I would receive a resolution letter in the mail with 7 to 10 business days. The last dispute number was in June 2023 and at that time I was advised the my license plate would be removed from the system to keep this problem from continuing. However...here we go again...I have received another bill with a due date in October. my vehicle is a little beat up 96 GMC FARM TRUCK that has ONLY traveled to livestock sell barns in McLennan, Bosque, and Coryell counties! This vehicle is FARM use. PLEASE, PLEASE...remove license plate AR87993 from your total system! It is a waste of
everyone's time constantly having this corrected.
Desired outcome: Remove license plate AR87993 from your system and send something in writing showing resolution. Thank you.
Unnecessary Charges 2023
I would give them 0 stars if I could. Someone explain to me why I would have TX Toll Tag automatically charge my account if they say I have to pay it ahead of time as well. I set up an account Feb 24, 2023 and never had any issues until August. Suddenly Pike Pass and NTTA started billing me separately claiming it’s TX Toll Tag’s fault.
TX Toll Tag says that I need to preemptively pay my account even though they’ve been charging me with no insufficient funds. The other 2 said it’s TX Toll Tag, and TX Toll Tag says it’s because the automatic payments aren’t good enough to keep payments updated for the other 2 tags. I drive hundreds of miles a day for my job. The other 2 tags wouldn’t suddenly charge me every six months unless there is a system error. This sounds very much like one or both states are charging unnecessarily to make more money, or TX Toll Tags are a scam.
Desired outcome: Refunding the unnecessary charges.
Incorrect Billing
I am being billed for tolls incurred after I sold the vehicle and the title was transferred to the new owner. I sold the vehicle December 2022 and the tolls were incurred March 2023. I don't even live in Texas. I received the bill and went to their website and submitted a dispute online providing the bill of sale. They did not respond so after I received another bill I called to speak with them and was told that the bill of sale was insufficient and I needed to provide a certified vehicle history report with a state seal on it, I cannot order this online in my state and it is not free but I still attempted to do it but my request was denied. They have made it truly impossible to resolve this issue and I do not feel that I should have to pay someone else's toll bill.
Desired outcome: I would like the bill to be cleared from my name and have my information removed from their system so that I can no longer be billed for a vehicle I don't own.
Auto bill
I have been billed for a toll and now a late fee in while attempting to have it changed.
I have a NTTA account number 6835600
Have made several attempts to hav this fixed with no resolution accept to pay to avoid more undue fees.
The latest comment came in a email:
"TxTag automated billing system does not allow the letters “O” or “I” in vehicle plate numbers. As a result, our system is unable to recognize the difference between the letter "O" as the number zero or the letter "I" as the number one."
Not sure your system not being able to ID the I in my Legally issued Texas plate is a reasonable out from your end. I'm attaching photos and copies below.
Desired outcome: I would like a full reimbursement and for the some sort of programing in your system to change for recognizing the difference in letters and numbers. thank you.
Fraudulent services
We received a toll bill for over $1k for a vehicle that we don't even own anymore. I did the chat now option with TXTag and was told that the vehicle was stolen after we traded it in, and that they needed the police report for the same. I provided the police report and then my husband called TXtag because we didn't receive a resolution - he was then advised that TXTag had no record of the vehicle being stolen and that we owed all these toll charges no matter what because they are for a different time period than what I was originally told. We have NEVER received a bill from TXTag for this particular vehicle until now and we have paid all of our tolls for bills we got from CTRMA Processing while we owned the vehicle. TXTag is fraudulent and charging practices are ridiculous. At one point they advised on their website, that due to system maintenance, charges may occur from May 1, 2018 to present. How the heck can you go and backdate charges to 2018 that were never billed for? How is that ethical and how can anyone afford that?
Desired outcome: This over $1k toll bill to go away and us not owe anything since we are now getting a bill for a vehicle we haven't had since Feb. 2023 and never got a bill before.
Waller-Tomball Farm to market 2920 Rd
This rd between Telge and the business of Drilex has had a large crack from one side all the way across to the other side- 4-5 months - now it has a dip all the way across- It is getting worse makes me think there could be a sinkhole or something worse -we use 2920 multiple time a day- please it is important to repair 2920 as soon as possible
Before someone gets hurt! the company

TxTag Account
As a long time Tx Tag customer, I have been getting approx 2-4 bills in the mail for vehicles that have an active TxTag with an active account. This is a ridiculous nightmare and completely random. I use the toll road about 3 days a week and only get bills by mail randomly. How your IT system is so incompetent that it cannot look up my account by my license plate (since I guess your TxTag readers are very poor) and bill my account, defies explanation. Your employees seem pleasant enough but we quit calling years ago since they completely ineffective. Pulling my TxTag stickers off (I'll post that video on social media) and replacing with my fresh NTTA stickers!
Account payments
We have been paying on old tolls we did not get billed for since 2019. After asking multiple times since 10 2022 still no statement showing right balance, our records show to have 8 payments left on agreement, their balance shows nearly double that and we were told that some payments may not have credited balance due to a SYSYTWM ISSUE but added to the balance instead yet they just expect us to keep making payments we likely don't owe. We need to get this fixed. On phone now being told to make payment on automated system but cannot because system does not recognize account number. I have spoken to Ted, Howard and Jackie since Oct 2022 and not much help. Now tell me to pay by phone which in was told cannot be done or mail a check which I used to to and they got returned to me unprocessed.
Desired outcome: Waive remainder of dang bill this is getting stupid.
We have the same issue, even now. We pay our bill and they say we are paid in full. Then we see another bill the following month. The bill doesn't even show when and where the toll was charged, it's so irritating. We stopped using TxTag back in January 2023, paid our bill in fill and even received a credit refund check. We've a Harris County tag since we dropped TxTag. Still we are seeing bills. I wish there was some way to have a complaint heard.
Erroneous toll charges
I’m wondering how to address the toll charge errors that I am being billed for. I’ve sent a written response three months in a row to the TxTag address that came with my bill and have not received a response (or even an acknowledgement). I have found no useful information on website listed in the bill as all references for disputing a bill refer to stolen or sold vehicles.
I am disputing all toll charges as I have not personally traveled to the locations listed in the bill (also, my vehicle has never been at these locations). My vehicle has not been stolen or sold and my current license plates are SBX2234 (white Jeep Grand Cherokee).
I believe these toll charges were somehow made in error – unfortunately, I have not been able to find an effective means of disputing the bills. I find it difficult to believe that this system has never encountered a ‘mistake’ where the information was disputed, however, it does not appear that a procedure for disputing in this fashion is easily discovered in all of the online information about TxTag.
Just for the record, below are the listed toll date/times and my locations:

I would appreciate any information you could provide, or (if possible) you can forward my information to the appropriate office for further assistance.
I’ve attached the last three bills and my response.
Thanks,

Desired outcome: Two outcomes desired - 1 Acknowledge my written responses. 2 Clear these erroneous toll charges as my vehicle or my self have never been to the locations listed in the bill.
TxTag
TxTag has been a nightmare. If you have a problem they put you on hold, have you jump through several hoops, just to get resolved. It took me hours one time just to speak with someone who couldn't do anything but send me on another wild goose chase. They wear you down because they can't keep up with their customer complaints, and so stave customers off by with long waits and longer processes. I've used TxTag for over a year now, and my bills have been outrageous. Their customer service is the worst I have ever seen in any company. Even closing the account, they tell you it will take several days to get back to you and process. I'll come back with updates on how that account closure happens- because I am sure they'll try to charge me when I'm already using a new tag through NTTA. The class action lawsuit is coming fast enough.
Desired outcome: Better customer service, timely responses, automated features, a complete explanation my charges, refunds into late fees, the hours back of my life I've spent dealing with this horrible company.
Tolls
We have received a Toll charge for $9.36 Transaction # [protected] on Road Way SH99E, It shows plate number as 2053674. We have an Apportioned or power plate with this series of numbers, but its GPS does not show it was in Texas on 12/30/2022., in fact it shows on 12/30/2022 it was sitting in our Lawrenceville Il yard.
This happens to us a lot , most of the time the plate is an Indiana issued plate but not an apportioned or power plate but the numbers match. Do you have a picture of this unit going across the scales you could provide for us.
Thanks Kathy
Fleet manager
Franklin Well service
Desired outcome: picture of unit as we dispute it is our vehicle .removeable of charges billed to us .
Toll statement
I have received the same toll bill every month for 3 months, Acct# [protected], Contract Acct# [protected]. I have contacted TX Tag to notify them that the bill does not belong to me. Each time, it is confirmed that there is a typo in the license plate number and the bill is removed from my license plate and added to the appropriate vehicle/account holder. In a normal scenario, the statements would have come with a photo of the vehicle/plate but the statements I have received have not. My most recent statement doesn't even include a license plate number. I am calling again to have this bill removed from my name. Unfortunately, I did not keep the confirmation number of the first contact made but the second time I called, I spoke with Sierra and received confirmation number 6673310 and the third time I called, I spoke with Nikki and the confirmation number is [protected]. Continuing to receive these statements over and over after already addressing the issue is unacceptable and and to the point of considering it harassment from a public entity.
Desired outcome: I would like for the issue to be resolved completely and not receive any additional erroneous bills/statements.
billing
I just paid $69.40 to hctra because tx tax has not paid. Hctra says that plate # rrd6328 tag [protected] on 2017 red truck is not registered per tx tag? acct # [protected] cecil cardona ...Joke, right ? on tag [protected] is 2022 black trk. On 2/12/23 tx tag took out of my bank acct without authority 16x $20 each, why, tx tag cannot answer. $320 total . Tx tag has more excuses ever. Have called and begged for help. Not 1 person can tell me why. Tx tag cust svc once said if you have auto pay that would take care of hctra. Ok i fell for it. Then boom, there goes $320 out of bank acct all on same day. Cancelled auto pay and only pay now per bill. I want my $320 back tx tag took from me. I was advised would get a refund but never have. I ask about refund and am told there is no refund. I want a print out of all toll charges from 1/1/23 till 2/27/23..No way is it $320 plus. 2/12/23 to today 2/27/23 is not more than $320
and i have even paid $20 on 2/20.
Desired outcome: REFUND
Bill reflecting late charges of $2611.74 dating back to 2021
Just received a bill reflecting current tolls from Dec 2022 plus a past due balance of $2611.74. After calling the customer service # I was told TxTag had been sending invoices to an address in another town in Tx to an address at which I have never lived and that TxTag got the info from the DMV.
I find that curious as I regularly receive invoices at my correct address from the RMA. I was told by the customer service supervisor that she had opened a service request #[protected] for me to receive the past invoices via email in order to view the charges from the past two years. Don't know how long that's supposed to take but I'm waiting. In the meantime I need someone with authority to get back to me about how to resolve this gross billing delay.
P.S. my current invoice has a box stating Dur to quality control measures after the system transition, it has taken longer than anticipated to generate statements for toll usage. Your new statement may include tolls dating back to May 2021 not previously billed. Please help get this resolved.
Desired outcome: I would appreciate a response that includes the past due invoices, all fees and fines removed, and a payment schedule meeting the monthly amount billed as if I had received the invoices in a timely manner.
I just received the same bill, it is for $2700 and it says the same thing about "due to quality control measures after the system transition it has taken longer than anticipated to generate statements for toll usage.Your new tolls may include tolls dating back from May 2021". This unacceptable. I pay every toll bill I get in the mail, this one is absolutely shocking and made me physically ill. I have, like many other people, encounter billing issues with TxTag but this one is by far the absolute worse. I am honestly physically ill from seeing this bill and at this moment it is after hours so now I have to wait in agony until tomorrow if I am able to even get this resolved then. The customer service and errors are horrendous, how in the world are we not protected from this type of abusive practice! There are no details on the charges, no transaction details just an outrageous amount due in a couple of weeks.
I would like to participate in a class action lawsuit against their fraudulent billing practices.
We have received statements for TxTag and went online to show a zero balance. I called in to speak to someone today, I can tell you this is the rudest person I've ever spoken to. I was polite and explained my situation, she wouldn't even let me finish before cutting me off and telling me to do exactly what I just explained and didn't work. YES I did check online, do you think I want to waste my time calling in and sitting on hold for 20 minutes. I've worked in a service based industry pretty much my whole life, she shouldn't be in that position I can't even imagine she's effectively doing her job when she doesn't listen. I ended up cussing at her and hanging up. I will NEVER EVER use a toll road in Texas again. I went online to Facebook and other blogs, people are getting bills and late fees when they have a TxTag account already established. I bet you if enough people got together and did a class action lawsuit they'd win. Who is their oversight, do they have to answer to TxDot or any governing authority to make sure they're ethically collecting fines because what I've experienced and what I'm reading from others it sounds like NO!
Desired outcome: I have screenshots and my statements to prove they're a scam.
