inconvenience caused due to thai airways
Hi Team,
This is Geoffrey Nikhil Paul writing to you.
I have traveled with Thai airlines on 18/12/2017 from Melbourne to Hyderabad (ie Melbourne to Bangkok - Bangkok to Hyderabad).
The flight that was supposed to take off at 15:30 pm on 18/12/2017 from Melbourne airport was delayed and it ended up taking off by 12:30 a.m on 19/12/2017,
It was completely unprofessional that your staff never bothered to intimate me via email or phone about this delay, Like you have intimated a few other passengers prior to their arrival at the airport.
To make things worse, before I boarding the flight at Melbourne airport, THAI airways staff informed me that my checked in baggage was not going to arrive with me to Hyderabad and they were unsure if I had to collect my luggage at Bangkok airport or Delhi airport. On probing the issue, I was sent to another counter where a female staff member who could not speak in proper English, played a dirty game by telling me a lie that she solved my issue and I could collect my luggage at Hyderabad airport on my arrival as per my baggage claim receipt.
The point to be noted here is that I was meant to travel from
melbourne to bangkok & bangkok to hyderabad.
however, i was made to travel from
melbourne - bangkok, bangkok to delhi & delhi to hyderabad.
On reaching Bangkok airport the staff advised me to collect my luggage at Delhi airport, clear customs and again check in my luggage before boarding the flight to Hyderabad. However, on reaching Delhi airport my checked in luggage could not be found. I was made to fill in a missing/lost luggage claim form. The staff at Delhi airport asked me to double check for my luggage at Hyderabad airport on my arrival as they could not trace it on their records as yet.
Once I reached Hyderabad my luggage could not be traced. Bad enough I reached Hyderabad by 15:30 pm on 19/12/2017 instead of reaching by 12.25 am. Which is a loss of one whole day. After a series of phone calls, I received my luggage at my residence on 22/12/2017, which is 3 days after my arrival. This is not at all acceptable.
The damages caused to me by THAI airways are:
1.I have lost one whole day of my unpaid leave due to the flight delay,
2.I had to spend money to buy a suit for a wedding that I had to attend, I had to buy my clothes as myluggage did not arrive until three days of my arrival.
3.The stress and inconvenience caused due to increased hours of travel.
I am looking forward on receiving a compensation from THAI airlines for the inconvenience they put me through.
With this complaint I am attaching my flight ticket, boarding passes and the missing baggage form. Kindly do the needful.
Kind Regards,
Geoffrey Nikhil Paul.

complaint of no manners/rude ground staff
I would like to lodge a complaint against Thai Airways Ground Staff (details as below) at Suvanarbhumi Airport, Bangkok Thailand regarding an unpleasant incident that took place on Sunday, 3 September 2017, at Thai Airways check-in counter at approximately 7:00am. The counter staff, Natham On/S was extremely rude and unprofessional.
NAME : NATHAM ON/S
STAFF ID NO : TG4142g
POSITION : CUSTOMER SERVICE ASSISTANT
2. We are three passengers travel from Osaka (KIX) to Kuala Lumpur (flight details as below).
Flight From : Osaka, Kansai (Saturday, September 02, 2017)
Flight To : Kuala Lumpur
Transit : Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (Sunday, September 03, 2017)
Booking Num : 7XUTA2
3. We required re-check in again on 3/9/2017 at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport as flight ticket (Bangkok-Kuala Lumpur) was not direct issued to us by Osaka Ground Staff. We were waited at airport's check-in counter for 16 hours transit due to counter check in is open before three hours flights depart. Unfortunately, the staff who name stated above voice up loudly requested us to pay the airport tax for 700thb for each passenger due to we are not waited at transit area. We were treated with much unnecessary rudeness by her since other passengers on queuing are looking on us. This make us feel totally disgraceful and feeling so unwell. Moreover, she is wasting our time (approximately of waiting 1 hour at counter check in) due to strongly want us to pay for airport tax.
4. I am adamant that my complaint to your company's staff will not remain silent. I strongly feel that one irresponsible staff member should not be allowed to bring down the good name of the airline. A reply from Thai Airways would be most welcome and we would like you to carry out a full investigation into my concerns.
worst customer service ever after 11h delay on a 2h flight
The average flight from Hong Kong to Bangkok takes 2h20min. But on July 2, flight TG601 scheduled at 1pm got delayed by more than 11h. We landed in BKK after 3am.
The hassle caused is too long to list here, but let's say that keeping a hotel booking open while checking in a 4am the next day, and doing so on your mobile phone from overseas is not easy and tutns out to be expensive too.
Anyway, Thai Airways customer service after the event was pathetic. They refused to take responsibility for their outrageous delay and offered no conpensation. Apparently in Europe cash delay compensations are ok but in Asia it is on a case by case.
I dealt with the least responsive customer service person, clearly too junior to habdle my claim and too incompetent to pass it on to her superior.
I didn't receive as much as a simple upgrade on my next flight. Thai Airways customer service is useless.
I will not fly Thai Airways anymore.

harassment by thai airways at kolkata airport
I have booked Thai Airways ticket from Kolkata to Seoul for my family and it was mentioned in the can carry 30 KG weight for each passenger one baggage weight is 38 Kg and another baggage weight 15 Kg but counter staff of Thai airways did not accept they are saying you have to make 02 baggage of 30 Kg each when we informed that we want to pay you the excess luggage charges they do not want to take charges. Unnecessary harassment. It is recommended not travel Thai Airways. And my family being harassed for 02 hours.
no food and pathetic aircraft
Travelling in the so called business class of thai airways from seoul to bangkok by tg629, on 17 th april, the promised 180 degree seat was missing and we barely had a 100 degree broken chair. Also after a request on booking and as we were not sure a mail was sent for a vegetarian mail without mushroom and a response for the same from the thai airways end, on boarding we felt the need to counter check and yes we were so right the arrangements were not made and on demanding an explanation they promised to arrange for it from hong kong to bangkok but nothing for sector one ie. From seoul to hk. Pathetic experience and also one of the female staff was taking sadistic pleasure by offering non veg food and smiling.
This is too much after paying so high for the business class traveller.
Never will I want to nor will I ever recommend anyone to travel this airlines.
Yet no remorse or apology came from the airlines end
thai airways ground staff
Thai airways Mumbai, India is the worst airways I have come across. When I booked my ticket on Thai airways, I booked the one which allowed students to take extra 10kgs baggage, perfectly endorsed on their website just to attract people to buy their tickets. While booking the ticket I was asked to get my student offer letter to get the concession. when I went to the counter on the day of my flight they said I was supposed to buy another one to be applicable for the student concession. I showed them my student offer letter, as they had asked me to get it while Booking the ticket.
They did not listen to me at all and asked me to pay 200 US dollars. It's ridiculous, if they didn't want to give any concession then why not just be clear on their website. Pure cheats. They made me cry and harassed me and my dad. The staff is disgusting with no humanity. The female manager working there didn't let me go till the last moment. It's not me alone, many of my friends have experienced the same thing, especially those flying from Mumbai. I will never ever choose this airline in my life. Horrible people. I don't mind paying extra but me and my family will never be a part of Thai airways anymore.
pathetic services @ thai airways - no fan, tv and call bell working - no help provided
Have been travelling for 10 years from India to Australia and never ever experienced such Crap Service. This is the first time I was travelling by Thai Airways and there were series of bad experiences. The domestic airlines offer much much better services and have much better staff compared to that of Thai Airways! Let me quote them one by one. There were no announcement done for the seat numbers while we were boarding so most of the passengers were clueless weather to wait for announcement or follow other passengers who started to board the place. When I went in, I was informed by the air hostess that there was no space for my cabin luggage! When i questioned her, she replied 'You should have come fast if you wanted to keep your luggage'. They somehow managed a place about 15 seats away from where I was sitting. I asked the air hostess to help me to keep it as I could hardly reach there. I was shocked to hear her answer - she said 'Maam you need to help yourself I cannot help you to keep the luggage. Your luggage you keep'. I was so annoyed so I left the bag and went all the way to the end of the aircraft to call another flight attendent for help. He came with me and said 'I cannot keep it alone, you need to help me as this all is help provided and not included in services'. I was shocked to hear such unfriendly answers. Anyways, I settled down in my seat and while take off noticed that the TV was not working. After the plane took off, I tried to press the button to call the Flight Attendent and it was not working. I waited for almost 30 minutes for atleast 1 Flight Attendent to pass by so I could complain about this issue. Finally after the long wait I complained about the non-functional Fan, call button and TV. They took 3 hours to check the issue and after several follow ups (where I had to walk upto the washroom to talk to them as the call button was not working) I was informed - We cant do anything, what do you expect us to do. We are trying but the system is not working so unfortunately you have to travel like that!' I was provided absolutely no help at all and I was sitting there sweating as the none of the fan for the 3 seats was working! After following for 4 times, they gave me a feedback form to be submitted. Never ever will I travel through them and never ever will recommend. It was a day flight (we started at 7:30 AM Bangkok time and reached at 21:20 PM Melbourne time) and I couldn't even sleep properly or could rest up! Also, there was no lunch served after breakfast. We were only given evening snacks and later when many people started to ask about food they served a hot snack! Pathetic also is a small word to describe their services. I paid INR 76, 000 and felt like this is worst than those cheap low class airlines. No help also was provided! I will be escalating this further to make sure no one else suffers like I did.
unsupportive behavior of the staff at new delhi airport
On Monday, the 8th of February 2016, me and my wife were scheduled to leave New Delhi on a flight TG324 at 11:10 bound for Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport on the way to Sydney.
We were well ahead of time when we reached the Thai Airways' New Delhi Airport Check-in counter. Everything was going really well on our trip.
However, it went horribly wrong when we reached the check-in counter. As we approached the counter, we handed our passports to the lady there. She took a bit more than usual time in printing the boarding passes for our travel. I became a bit curious and asked her if everything was fine?
She told me that my wife (Mrs Shweta Singh Nagi) cannot travel as her visa has expired and the system is not allowing her to print her boarding passes.
I got shocked hearing what she was saying as me and my wife both have the multiple travel visas of Australia till the 18th of March 2016 and I told her the same thing. But, she said I cannot do anything in this matter as the system is showing that her visa has expired.
She also called her supervisor Rohit and explained the matter to him. Rohit came back to us after 10 minutes and told us that he had talked to the department of immigration and they are saying the same thing that her visa has expired as she only had the visa to enter and live in Australia for the duration of her visa. As she left the country, she cannot re-enter without a valid visa.
I even showed him a soft copy of my wife's visa grant letter(copy attached for your reference) on my mobile phone which clearly stated that her visa expires on 18th March 2016 and she can travel multiple times to and from Australia for the duration of her visa.
We requested them a lot to help us as we wanted to come back to Sydney and start our daily routines as soon as possible. However, they just had to say that they cannot do anything for her ticket and the departure time of the flight was getting closer and closer. The staff at the counter advised me to board the flight and asked my wife to visit the Australian Embassy in New Delhi.
I did not want to leave my wife behind as she was not well and due to so much of chaos she got more sick. At this point, Rohit (Supervisor), Nishad(Supervisor) and Romy (head of the staff) came to us and without even being courteous to us, they started saying that we have to hurry up or we will miss the flight. After long discussions with the staff members and between us two, I decided to board the flight as we were not getting a valid solution and appropriate support from the airlines staff members.
After leaving the New Delhi airport, my wife straightaway went to the Australian Embassy there. The staff at the help desk told my wife that she has got the valid visa to travel to and from Australia multiple times till 18th March 2016 as is stated in the visa grant letter. My wife explained what happened at the airport to the staff at the help desk, she said that there is no reason why the airline has refused your travel and quite possibly their system had some issue.
Anyways, after this my wife went straight to the booking office of Thai Airlines at the New Delhi airport and asked the staff member to re accommodate her for the next immediate flight to Sydney. The staff member said that he can change the booking for tomorrow's same flight if the seats are available with a charge of $50. He said that there are lots of seats available for the BKK-SYD flight and some seats available in the DEL-BKK flight. He confirmed that if she will come next morning, she will get the same flight which departs New Delhi at 11:10. So, she went to a nearby hotel to relax.
On the 9th of February, my wife went to the airport and she was given a ticket with changes done only to her DEL-BKK flight and was told that she has to get her BKK-SYD flight changed via the travel agent in Australia who booked the original tickets for us. She went to the check-in counter and talked to Rohit and Romi again about the matter. They both told her that the fare on the BKK-SYD flight is only available in the business class and that she has to pay a fare difference of $850. After 5 minutes, Rohit informed her that the booking cannot be changed and if changes are to be done, she has to contact the travel agent who booked the ticket.
I am so disturbed to see that how negligent the staff can be. One time they are assuring a customer for a ticket and the next moment they are saying that they cannot do any changes. Is there any courtesy left in the staff, who are not even thinking about the valuable time that they were wasting there, just sitting there and doing nothing to help us find a solution? I am so not happy with the services given to us and the way we were treated.
I called the travel agent to change the booking, however, there was not enough time left for the flight. Again she went outside the airport, to the hotel, without any appropriate support from the airline staff members. The hotel bill came to approximate $300.
I then, asked the travel agent to re book her ticket for the next flight. Her ticket was rescheduled for the 10th February flight TG332, departing New Delhi at 03:30. However, I had to pay the fare difference of $450. After the booking was confirmed, my wife called the New Delhi office of Thai Airways to check if she is ok to board the flight, the staff member said that everything is fine and there will be no issues in boarding.
I was really surprised to see how they allowed my wife to board the flight after few hours and how her visa got valid all of a sudden.
We had a really good experience on our SYD-DEL flight and we started liking Thai Airways. This was the first time that we were flying with Thai Airways. But, I was not expecting such negligence and unsupportive behavior from the staff members of one of the best airlines. I would not want to fly with Thai Airways in the future after such a bad experience.

24hrs delay, stranded in airport with no access to luggage
Our family had a connecting flight from Phuket to Bangalore via Bangkok. However, the flight from Phuket was delayed to take off by one hour due to technical issue and we were sitting inside the aircraft waiting.
Once we reached bangkok we were informed that the Captain in the flight from bangkok to Bangalore took decision to fly without us. There were 4 other passengers other than the two of us stranded for a full day, (till same flight the next day) and they would not give access to our baggage, so we had nothing to change to. We had to spend
The bigger issue however, was that we had another flight from Bangalore to Cochin which we missed because of this. Thai airways said they would book a flight for us in Air India instead of the Air Asia flight that we missed.
I had to run from pillar to post to find out the PNR of this flight, and still would not get it. I asked at different counters of Thai airways at the airport. All of them would tell me that the ticket is booked, but would not give me the pnr as an assurance. One of them even spoke rudely and told me that, once we reach Bangalore, there would be a person holding a placard from Thai airways.
We arrived at 12.am in the night at Bangalore, and as I expected, there was non one holding any placard, we checked with Air India, but there were no tickets booked in our name. Even bigger issue was that after reaching Cochin, we had another abu dhabi flight to catch on the same evening. My wife had to join work on the next day in abu dhabi. And we were at risk of missing that flight too unless we bought our own tickets to Cochin.
We started thinking of different alternatives.. The flight to abu dhabi could not be postponed as the departure time was within 24 hrs already. We thought of taking an early morning train to Cochin at 6am, for that we would have to first travel from Bangalore airport to the Bangalore railway station. The train would reach by 5 in the evening and we would take a taxi from there to the Cochin airport. But in case the train was delayed for any reason, we would miss that flight. And now, we were sitting outside the Airport. We exited the international terminal, and would not be able to go back inside. We did not have tickets so we were not allowed inside the domestic terminal either. My wife started crying, not able to handle the situation anymore, but more because she felt so cheated by the Thai airways staff. At the bangkok airport when I was doubting the confirmation of tickets, she was the one who kept assuring me and telling me not to worry. Meanwhile I kept trying to contact the Thai airways staff in Bangalore airport. it was 1a.m now and no one would pick the phone. It kept ringing, I kept calling till 1.30 when a staff picked. I was very angry, but I controlled my anger and explained our situation. The staff at Bangalore were more empathetic, they took our flight details and after one our, booked an Air Indigo morning flight to Cochin from their own pocket. We reached home in the afternoon and had just enough time to take a quick nap before we could catch the flight to abu dhabi. But we did go through a lot of trauma stress and lies before our honeymoon to Thailand came to an end.

No food served in the Airlines TD315, on request of chicken meal it was rudly answered that chicken finished and the other avbl. options wer stale..
Their customer service representative (Indian young girl) was very rude. She wants me to repeat what she told me and was yelling "do you understand me"?
general poor service
I was a loyal ROP Gold member until recently. 1) They cancelled BKK-LAX direct flight - this was excellent especially with the Premium Economy class. This was my primary reason for staying with TG 2) TG used to give occasional upgrades at the gate to ROP Gold members - I haven't seen this for years. 3) TG flights to/from Kuala Lumpur often are parked on the tarmac at Bangkok then all passengers are required to ride sardine style on a bus to/from the BKK airport terminal. 4) I tried to redeem a ROP Gold upgrade certificate for at BKK/LAX ticket through Kuala Lumpur and Bkk offices and never managed even though I gave them an 8 month window of when I could fly. SUMMARY: I have switched back to EVA Airways and am quite happy with all their services. EVA has Premium Economy (Elite) class on most long sectors, a working website, good service, and they are now Star Alliance. They even respond to comments promptly. Adios TG.
short-changing
I am a regular customer with Thai Airways, and a silver card holder.
Last month my Thai girlfriend went to the Thai Airways office in Chiangmai to buy two return tickets to Guangzhou in China.
Presuming Thai Airways to be a large respectable company, one does not sense a great urgency to check the price on the receipt handed to you would not match the same amount that issues forth from the lips of the Thai Airways lady serving behind the counter. And if you've paid by cash, there's no legal come back.
We are absolutely certain the woman told my friend the cost of 2 return tickets to Guangzhou was 39, 000 baht. We paid 39, 000 in cash. While the ticket receipt was for 37, 700.
When I called the Chiangmai Thai Airways office to lodge a complaint the lady boss there said, "I'm sorry sir. But we've just checked the system and the correct amount appears to have been deposited".
I said, "Of course the correct amount has been deposited in your system. The balance of the incorrect amount was deposited into that woman's hip pocket."
She then put me on to the actual woman who I believe 'knowingly' cheated us. I confronted her head-on and accused her of short-changing valued Thai Airways customers who pay in cash. But that woman knew - as we all do - that once she had that cash safely tucked away in her handbag, and the receipt had been handed over showing the correct amount, and that same amount has been officially recorded in the Thai Airways books...well, she's got nothing to worry about. She's untouchable. Even her boss will "blindingly" support her over and above some crazy irate farang.
So all I'm saying is, if you're paying cash for a ticket at the Chiangmai branch of Thai Airways, then "BEWARE". This country truly is the "Land of Smiles".

harassing passengers & charging baggage allowance
WIth reference to the attached travel ticket, Thai Airways has allowed 40kg baggage (excluding handbag) to my employee, Pramod Bhanushali as per below email from our travel agent, Crossworld Holidays dated 6 January 2014. The reason for allowing 20kg extra at airport due to long stay visa (457 work visa). But at the airport, authorities have allowed only 20 kg checkin+10kg handbag and ended up with charging us Rs. 23, 000 (@ Rs. 2, 000 x 10 kg ard). We are very disappointed with Thai Airways service and harrasing the new passengers at Airport. Imagine guys, passenger was not carrying such a huge amount, you guys were not allowing him to think on how to manage luggage? You guys can't be rude with international passengers please. All I can say we can't afford to pay Rs. 23, 000 on baggage allowance and to be refunded with immediate effect please.
I would like to request to reimburse us Rs. 23, 000 with immediate effect based on information received from Travel Agent to us on 6 January 2014. Our travel agent consultant Ms Mary has reconfirmed with Thai Airways last week that baggage allowance will be 40kg i.e. 20 kg on ticket and 20kg to be allowed at Airport and accordingly we were replied on that information. If the issue doesn't get resolved as agreed, I will go ahead and complain against Thai Airways with Fair Trading Authorities.
Please contact either our travel agent "crossworld holidays" or me on +[protected] or Pramod's parents on +[protected]. I will call you guys this morning.

14+ weeks for a refund, cancellation due to pasport expire
I had to book my airline tickets in an Emergency on 3 Jan 2014 at 11pm, as my Father-in-law was in ICU.When doing online check-in at 6 am in the morning i noticed that my Son's Passport is already expired and had to cancel my tickets to resolve the passport issue.I ts pathetic that they are taking minimum 12-14 weeks in refunding my own money back to me.What age the company is living in.They get the money immediately when booking the tickets and why do they need 12-14 weeks to refund my money. That is really pathetic on their part, if they would have taken all the details including passport details, i would not have ended in this situation.I have no place where i can complain about them. This is just an harassment to me at this point in time where i am going through other difficulties.I called the Thai Airways Customer Service 4 times and they told someone will call me back and no one did call back. What laws are made to protect the customers in this situation...?
luggage soaking wet
On March 19, 2013 we checked in at the Thai Airways Royal Silk early in the morning for flight no. 632 from Bangkok to Taipei.
IIt was pouring rain that morning we noticed when we were at the lounge. Our flight was good and it was a pleasant one.
We arrived in Taipei on time, but when we picked up our 3 luggage, these were soaking wet. We thought that it was only the outside of the suitcases that are wet. When we arrived at our hotel, we were very disappointed to find out that most of our belongings inside the luggage were also wet. We spent a lot of time spreading all our things in the hotel room to dry them, instead of having some leisure time to ourselves.
Our luggage was badly mishandled and left in the rain while waiting for them to be boarded and whoever is in charge of keeping the luggage out of the rain was not properly instructed or trained. Thai Airways should seriously loo0k into this and correct the matter as soon as possible.
We would like to know what really happened to our luggage being drenched by the rain.
Please contact us at email address: [protected]@yahoo.ca. Thank you.
Yours very truly,
Mr.and Mr. V. Gradinarov
I have a confession to make, I put water balloons in my suitcases so that they would burst in the high pressure above the air. I was hoping they would give me spending money for a new wardrobe. I was tired of all my old clothing and wanted to wear what was in style.
How would you know whether someone was properly trained? Are you a luggage handler for an airline? Do you work for Thai Airways? No? Then you have no idea what their job is, and I am sure they do, better than you do.
Your luggage was wet. It rains. It happens. It is a good idea to pack your belongings in a water tight bag, like a trash bag, before putting in the suitcase. I have done this for years. If your lugagge is fabric then it would only take a good 5 minutes in a down poor to soak it. Some airports have luggage trucks that are enclosed, but not all do.
service extra-useless, systematic disorderly
we flighted on 1th Oct 2012 from HK to Bangkok by Thai airways. we processed all check-in procedures . they inform us to delay one flight when we were ready to boarding the flight . is because their system didn't show our informations . never heared about this kind of excuse . it is very abnormal . the unbelievable things is that when we were comeback from BKK on 7th Oct 2012 . they told us their has no any record about our return ticket .they says because we didn't take primal flight, so the system washed our ticket automatically . they said very sorry to me ... they can't do anything for this ...very unbelievable... i requested them to find a ticket for me . the staff told they have no any plance availble . they couldn't give us an accurate time either give me a accurate day . .. so i can only change the airline. i bounght the tricekt from HK airline and proceduceed the ticket cancelled. the staff who working in the airport has give us 3 demonstrate of refund ticket and told me that we can use those doucment to get our money back from the travel agent . after i back to china . i show all doucments to my travel agent . and i believe that they has show all doucments to Thai airways also . but they says those document can't prove that is because their system washed my ticket . they says is because i am delayed to the airport .so i missed my plan. it is really ball[censored] airline ... i have arraive to airport before 2 hours on board time . until now . they still hav't give any respond to my travel agent .. really unbelievable !
intimidated by tg senior flight attendant - ms. saipin n
Dear sir/ madam,
I was in TG 432 on 2 April, Bangkok - Denpasar. And had a very unpleasant experience with Ms. Saipin N is due to her rude and arrogant attitude by saying:
1. She will move me to business class after 2 hours my TV was broken but I only move there to watch TV. If I sleep I hv to walk back to my seat.
2. When I asked her name she throw her name tag to me n said make sure I get it right. She knows I might report her to customer service but seem she did not care.
This is feedback for you as I don't think TG Airways as a very reputable company deserved to get ruined on your image by arrogant attitude like Ms. Saipin N has.
And also as Thai people are famous with their friendly and hospitality. Hopefully she will get more training as being a Senior Flight Attendant she will give a very bad example to follow for her juniors.

excessive baggage
Hi

The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Even when flying in First Class you are only allowed 30kg. Your weight allowance is usually printed on your ticket. Your travel agent gave you incorrect information. You will not receive any refund...forget it, or complain to your travel agent
