lack of professionalism
The employees at this Thorton's (100 W Broadway) are the most unprofessional group of people I have ever seen. The employees regularly curse and argue back with customers. Today there was apparently an issue with an employee's nephew being on the property. When the police arrived, she said "the one in the blue almost got tbe business. He's lucky I'm on the clock. Don't stay [censor] to my nephew." She said this loudly behind counter. They are all loud and ghetto and very unprofessional. This is a nice Thorntons and it is an asset to this area. I come here several times a week. However, if you continue to employee ghetto employees who clearly lack basic social skills, I may need to take my business elsewhere.
thortons frostick
I purchased a few "Frosticks" from a Thorton's gas station in Plainfield, IN a few months back and have been using them for a while now. Well today while at work, I washed out my cup and frostick. Much to my surprise, the teal color of the stick came off on the paper towel that used to dry it. I haven't noticed this previously because I've always washed them at home and I have dark dish clothes. This is shocking not only for the fact that the color is coming off but simply at the idea that this coloring could have also be ingested when using it in my drinks. So much for thinking that I'm helping the environment by not using disposal plastic straws.

I was at your Thortons location at Colerain and Galbraith in Cincimnati, Ohio today, Wednesday July 12, 2017. I pumped your premium gasoline and my check engine light came on about 20 minutes into my trip and the vehiclw begin shaking and jerking. This has never happened before. I need to speak to someone to discuss a reaolution for repairs.

So I pulled up to the pump and I inserted my credit card and it kept saying card error try again, finally it appeared to work because it then asked for my rewards number and it said to start pumping. Several hours later I get a phone call from the police saying that I didn't pay for my gas and I need to go pay asap. He also told me there was a report being made and if I paid within 48 hours I would be fine but if I wait longer then 48 hours there will be a warrant made for my arrest. All over $20 which wasn't even my fault, if my credit card wasn't working or the pump wasn't working they should not have allowed me to pump gas until I paid inside. I have NEVER EVER been so embarrassed in my life! This will be the LAST time I shop Thorntons, sad thing is I drive for a living so I'm in thorntons minimum twice a day getting $20-40 in gas each visit 6 days a week. That's a lot of money for the company to lose over a stupid mistake!

I was in line at Thorntons gas store waiting to be helped by next available cashier. The middle cashier was the next to be available. I asked cashier for 5 dollars on pump 3, 2 packs of Newports in a box, and I also purchased a fountain drink. By the time he finished ringing me up my total was $35.00 and some change. I asked Cashier what all did he ring me up for and he said what u asked me for. I think the professional thing to do was to ask me was my order correct on the screen before being a smart [censor]. After reviewing the screen myself I noticed he had over charged me for gas. I brought to his attention that I only asked for $ 5.00 and not 25.00. I told him he charged me for someone else gas and I ain't paying it. HIS BEST answer to me was He didn't care and I was gonna pay for it. What kind of Customer service skills did he show? I told him since he didn't care I would go to another register and let somebody help me that do care. I felt totally embarrassed for his behavior he showed towards me. Not only was his employees looking at him but costumers as well.. After being helped at the next register. I saw a familiar cashier that normally helps me when I visit the store and she came up to me with a saddened face saying"She is VERY, VERY sorry for his Behavior"! I Immediately asked her for a manager and she told me that he was the manager!
(A general Manager) I would've expected for a regular employer to act that way, but not a general manager who suppose to be a role module to his employees, and recruit costumers and not run them away. I did Mention to manager that I don't know where your customer service skills are but u don't have any and you need to stay in the back and work..
marlboro gold shorts in a box
I have not had a pack of Marlboro gold cigarettes in months that isn't already expired and stale. I have purchased these cigarettes at multiple, multiple locations in SW Chicago and multiple locations north of Milwaukee, WI. The Julian dating on back of package describes the date of origin of these cigarettes. Today my pack states V052Y71A1. That means this pack was produced on the 52nd day of 2017. These cigarettes are more than 135 days old. After 90 days the cigarettes should be discarded because the shelf life of the cigs is done. Yet I'm paying to buy the very most expensive cigarettes and what I'm getting is the absolute worst quality of cigarette on the market. This happens routinely with Marlboro and their distributors and vendors. I made this same complaint last year. I do not have time to come online and make complaints about the cigarettes I'm buying because they are stale as can be. You would think a billion dollar company would be providing their customers with a product that isn't expired and stale and nasty. Cigarettes in IL and WI are either overproduced or the distributors are seriously messing things up with the stock inventory being provided to retailers. I will not smoke another package of Marlboros until I see a date of production that is one month from the current date. I will not smoke cigarettes that are 3-5 months old. Clean up your act billion dollar company. Ridiculous I'm making this same complaint again.

Walked over night bagged 2 doughnuts ...then proceeded to look at sausage biscuit area (as she was back there preparing food) not she says doughnuts aren't enough! I don't know this lady but she is always rude and I go into Thor tons sometimes twice daily and I understand having a bad day but she must have a disorder because she is ALWAYS rude! Her name is Tammy ( I asked the guy that range me up what her name was not where manager was...manager is on vacation)

This lake in the hills store needs to take action this isn't how a customer should be treated I will never go back horrible customer service . She needs to have serious action if you want me to continue come there.

no receipt paper in pumps
I come to the Thornton's at 1400 Eagle View Dr. Antioch, TN. Monday through Friday and get diesel fuel for my bus. Every day I have to go in to get my receipt. WHY don't they take care of this situation? I guess I will just have to go elsewhere. This is very bad for business as some people need and gas up and go and not have to go inside and wait in line for a receipt. PLEASE LET THEM KNOW THIS IS BAD FOR BUSINESS!

Got gas at one of your stores. Total gas was $9.75. My account had a pending charge of $30.00. Your company held 3 times the amount of my gas! I will never use thorntons gas or anything else from your "rip off" company! Tried to talk to your customer representative and she was a "witch!" not the correct word to describe your nasty female employee!. I will pass this on to my coworks, relatives and any stanger I come in contact with. Do not do business with thorntons!Your customer service sucks!

The following occurred on southbound Illinois Route 59 in Plainfield Illinois;
The truck clearly had Thornton's written on the vehicle, and was a bright yellow. The driver was swerving between two lanes of traffic in a construction zone, not using any signals, almost hitting multiple cars, and getting multiple car horns sounded at him. At one point it seemed as if he was done, and another car pulled along the left of him, and the driver immediately swerved back to the left lane with no signal or warning while the car was right next to the semi. Prior to this there was no observed interaction between this car and truck for at least the previous 10 minutes we were behind the truck. This ran the car off the road and up onto a curve. We saw this happen from a few cars back in traffic and watched in horror that a GAS TRUCK would be driving like this.
Later on we were able to get close enough to this same truck, at the intersection of Illinois Route 30 and Interstate 55 where the driver entered the onramp, to see the number '428' on the drivers cab. I'm not sure if this is identifiable enough to discipline this driver, as it was the only identification we could see, due to the the rainy weather.
I would appreciate feedback regarding this and hope that it can be dealt with internally.

hia there, i am a big, big, thorntons and chocolate lover, but today i am giving this company a miss, because i am a loyal customer and loyal customers shouldnt be treated as if they are of no concern, shall we say, to put it mildly.is thorntons in newport so arrogant, well practically as arrogant as the young man they employ and the sour faced manageress.well here is my gripe, i was in newport as per usual, went into thorntons and guess what, i had left my purse behind, ahha i thought sidling up to young man, you wouldnt mind if i paid you monday, since you know me well and that and since i always pay up, come to that if i hadnt payed for the one cuppa, i have brought a lot of trade there way and paid a fortune in there myself, to be on the fair side of things you see.but oh no, no, no, i could not have that much longed for coffee, no, i could not, even if i was the queen, how ridiculous, well listen up, for all you dammed care, i am telling friends and family to shop elsewhere for the usual chocolates and i am changing services to another brand of coffee, so go stuff yourselves, p.s.this is a true story and watch your loyalties and who you think your friends are, all thorntons care for is the money roll and grabbing the money as it rolls in.fair does, but my custom is going.and hundreds of pounds with it.what with family and friends.

I pull up to only open pump at Thornton's gas station (Please see picture) and the pump looked like it was tampered with.
All of the ways to exploit a fuel pump these days and consumers. The door was open to the receipt paper outlet. Receipt paper was out also.
