senior staff shouting on trainee
This morning in the core shopping centre, Tim Horton, around 8-9 am one of the senior staff was shouting on trainee. I clearly heard and saw that poor girl being humiliated between all the customers. Poor trainee she had tears in her eyes, despite her tears she was serving us a coffee with a smile on her face. I felt really bad when I saw this. I had to pretend that I didn't see her tears as I was feeling so bad for her. I had worked for food companies for 5 years, I never gave hard time to my staff. Although being a manager I had lots of responsibilities but I always tried to help my staff specially the new staff. The reason I am posting this comment is I really don't want people to be humiliated or treated badly. If so ever you want to convince or say something make it private and discuss gently. People like this thick headed can ruin the company's name as we know Tim Horton is a large company operating all over the Canada.
horrible service
The same Tim Horton's in Riveview, Michigan on Pennslyvania and Fort St has the worst service on a consistent basis. I have been going there for awhile and they always mess up my order or never have the product I'm requesting like Splenda or toasted bagels due to their toaster not working. I mean what company is in the coffee business and does not have...

On Sun. Aug 9th 2015, I ordered an Italian Sandwich, a chicken salad on a bun and a chicken chipotle wrap. When I arrived at my destination, the two other people indicated the buns were so hard they could not eat them. My wrap tasted terrible so upon unwrapping it, i found the lettuce black and slimy. Later I was very ill later that day. I called the Manager on the 12th. At this point she indicated to me that the lettuce is suppose to look like that, I said are you kidding me? black and slimy. She noted she would check into it and call me back. Today is August 20th and no call back. I would not eat at this location again. Very unprofessional and very poor quality of food.
inability to log in
My complaint is not being able to login for the last week or so using my user name. I've even tried to get a temporary password with no success at all. I've been told on the phone for 24 hours and they apologize. How many 24 hours does there has to be? I'm being frustrated and apologies doesn't cut it anymore.
unprofessional and verbally abusive management
This complaint is regarding the Tim Hortons location on Rymal and Nebo, store 565. As an employee that has been working there for quite some time, I will tell you that I am confident this store will lose half the amount of customers if not more due to our entire new management team. The store owner, Stew Galloway, will not do anything about how unprofessional and immature his management team treats his staff and also the customers. Stew Galloway traded the old manager for the new one named Sarah. His words were "Sarah will change the store around and fix it". Sarah has been nothing but rude, unprofessional, and RACIST towards the staff. Since then, we have our strongest staff dropping like flies and customers that no longer come to the restaurant. Sarah brings over employees that she managed back at her location; Gage and Fennel, who are exactly the same way she is. Sarah will never punish her "little helpers" because, quite frankly, they are safe behind her shield. Sarah, the manager, Jacqueline, the assistant manager, and Jenifer Collison, the woman that Sarah hired to be a floor spy, do nothing else but harass the staff, emotionally hurt the staff, and verbally hurt the staff for no reason. Stew made the same mistake yet again when he sent our senior supervisor to Gage and Fennel and promoted their supervisor to assistant manager at store 565. This new assistant manager, Jacqueline St John, posted on social media that she is going to have a battle with the staff at store 565 on "who the bigger b**ch" is. Is that how management is supposed to promote Tim Hortons on social media? Do you think whoever has this woman on Facebook will ever step foot into that location after she bashes the staff that she has never worked with before? What kind of business is Stew Galloway trying to run? Does he want loyal staff that will continue to make his customers happy? Or does he want childish and downright spiteful management who have nothing else better to do than to treat the staff this badly? This will lead to Stew being left with no staff at all. If nothing is done, this store may as well be closed because there will be no strong staff to keep the store up. Does the owner think it will be easy to replace strong staff with new staff when his management team doesn't even know proper manners, let alone how to train properly? Not even Sarah, the manager, knows how to do a simple job sheet or work the till and Stew expects a person like that to "fix" his store? Sarah, A MANAGER, was confronted by staff that a fly fell into a tray that held breakfast sausage that was being served to customers. Sarah’s response was “more protein for the customers” and laughed. This is not all she has done.
-She tells the prep person to re-wrap expired cheese and place a new date on it. When the store manager from Gage and Fennel (store 565’s old manager) came in to ask Sarah if she told her staff at Gage and Fennel to also re-date expired product, Sarah’s response was “No. I would never do such a thing”
-She tells the prep person that it’s okay to sell expired sauce dated “July 17th” when that current date was “July 19th”.
-She told an employee that they would never get a job because they didn’t go to a “proper collage”. She has made that same employee cry on multiple occasions by verbally abusing her and accusing her of things she did not do. This employee is Indian.
-She constantly gives attitude and shows no respect what so ever to a young employee that has shown nothing but how loyal and strong of a worker they are. This young employee has coloured skin.
-She brings her husband to the back of the store whenever she pleases and talks bad about the employees to him. I know this because I was standing right beside her and she did not seem to give a care in the world.
-She took an order one morning for 2 dozen donuts, specifically vanilla dip, and wrote it down on a paper that was meant for cambro orders. When the customer arrived, the donuts were not ready and Sarah began to complain about whatever staff “would do such a stupid thing”. Her next words were “No wonder this store needs to be fixed. It’s because of stupid workers like these guys.” Yet, it was her own mistake.
Yet again I say, this is the manager that is expected to “fix” store 565? This location never needed to be fixed. But now, Stew Galloway better hope it gets fixed before it’s shut down for how disgusting this joke of a management team is acting. Last time I checked, the Tim Hortons slogo is "We Make It Right". How about you start doing that for the employees who are the individuals getting treated like dirt instead of being treated like human beings? Store 565 is on a one way trip straight to the ground. This is my warning and if nothing is done about this joke of a management team, enjoy closing down a busy Tim Hortons location that has the potential of making a lot of money for the company.
Your complaint is nothing but cliches.
attitude of employee
Employee attitude, ordered Steak and Cheese Panini (Combo), no receipt given, when I picked it up, I asked where was the combo?
Was blatantly and ignorantly told that no receipt, He could not give me my Combo.
I wish I had gotten his name but did not.
Attitudes like his,
I will never ever return to a Tim Horton's in the Future...
I paid $7.09 for a combo, never got it.

Just tried their new steak and cheese panini and was very disappointed. It's advertised as having a lot of steak in it but i've never seen such a steak sandwich with so little steak in it. It had a few shavings of steak in it. For that price and considering their false advertisements i was expecting way more. Did not fill me up in the slightest. Will never order that again.

The Tim Horton French Vanilla mix and K cups are NOT the same as the ones made in the coffee shops. I have been drinking the French vanilla from Tims coffee shops for over 15 years, and I am really disappointed that I cannot have one made at home. why can't you sell the actual product that you use in the shop? I would buy it even if it was not a 'mix with water" product. I can add cream or syrup or what ever it takes to make it taste the same. PLEASE HELP
oz. advertised
Your large coffees are advertised as 20 oz. size but are only 16 oz. I complained before and you were good enough to have one of your female reps contact me by phone and she said the outlet would be contacted re false advertising but I don't think it was. To-day I went to buy my large French Vanilla and only got 14 oz. which happens fairly often. I would be happy with 16 oz. but they shouldn't say that it is 20 oz. I fully expect that all your other outlets operate under the same conditions but I don't get to go to any of them.

sexual assault and discrimination of a staff
We went to this tim horton all the time, and I can say all the staff are very friendly, and polite. yesterday we went to 1040 beaverhill drive, on the drive-thru and I ordered a large coffee and a muffin. when we headed to the window. I asked the lady I will pay debit. and it didn"t worked it out. so at first she helped me, then later on she asked me is that a debit or credit card, and I said a debit. so i tried again by swipe and she yelled at me and said face on the front to swipe idiot. and it worked and then after that the staff name Alex, a girl told to my husband can you call me tonight. We are dating. so now I'm going to seperate with him at all.

upper managment ignorant of operations
I have worked at Tims for a number of years and have noticed that anyone above the rank of general manager seems rather ignorant of what is happening in their stores. Aside from almost all food safety procedure being completely ignored simply as a matter of it being to bothersome for most of the staff, the GMs seem to be focused on the wrong things. Firstly most of our staff is poorly trained with little knowledge of procedure which isn't surprising since most of them only work for four hours a day, meanwhile there are a handful of use that are made to work twelve hours almost everyday(even if we are not scheduled that way we get called in). However some of the managers seem exempt to this. I haven't actually seen my GM in weeks, she always leaves between eleven and noon. Meanwhile supervisors and team members are left to do the inventory and truck orders in her stead, which they are not trained in thus they produce a lot of errors which only increase over time. She will do just the schedule and payroll and go on about it as some major sacrifice. This is in addition to only running their shifts with two people, which lead to me being in a sexual harassment case where this girl accused me of molesting her or something, they wouldn't tell me what I had been accused of doing just so she could get off that shift. They couldn't prove anything one way or another because there was no one else there, but I never did anything but being male and the accused without evidence I'm automatically guilty so now the entire staff thinks me a sexual devient and makes working there that much more oppressive since I will be fired if someone else decides to say I harassed them as well and they won't take me off the shifts where it's just two of us. Sorry I'm not sure this is what the site is for but I wanted the oppertunity to taln about this without losing my job because I have bills to pay and here is little around here in the way of work. Thank you for your time.

I go to the Tim Horton located in downtown on University street, before the service was not fast nor the store was clean. Now I see the store has improve a lot more, and I see a lot of new faces of employees. I work in ville-marie mall, and I am a regular customer. I get often served by a girl, her name is sukhi, she is very friendly and always greeting which is not often found in any other Tim Horton. She is smiling and offers me the dark roast and if I want a donut or muffin with my coffee hoping I will change my mind some day. I see her Monday to Friday. She got me to buy the dark roast giving me the idea of why pay extra for espresso in my regular coffee if I can get a dark roast coffee which is stronger than regular coffee and the same price. I really enjoy her service and kindness. At the beginning when she would offer me the dark roast coffee it would annoy me but she did that so I can save my money from buying espresso. She is a wonderful person and so is her service and smile. I would wish her to see supervisor because as a formatrice she is doing a great job in cleaning and keeping her coffee area clean . She is always polite with the employees and customers.
Thank you,
I hope she will enjoy seeing that some customers really enjoy her hospitality
horrible work environment
Working at Tim Hortons was the most worse experience of my life. I started off working mornings and afternoons, but moved to midnights. It was the worse move of my life. I was picked on, disrespected, and bullied. I began to hate the job, I cried constantly to my boyfriend and my family. It is such a drama filled environment nothing is positive about it. On top of that it drove me crazy the place is crowded with bugs! I couldn't stand it. I killed spiders, beetles, ants (full of ants in the lobby.) it was just sickening! On top of that I was the ONLY one in the store at night at first I was okay with it. Until I started visiting other locations I seen they had two people working the shift so you would feel safe. This is the Tim Hortons located on Michigan Ave In Canton Michigan.

employee treatment / vacation time
I've been working at Tim Hortons nightshift for, as of this august 2014, two years now. No night shift premium and in my first year I was guilted into coming in when I was trying to call off because I was sick. Quoted from assistant manager " oh please don't make me pull a double" . That summer 2013 they worked us 7 days straight . Which I know it's right, but out up with it because it was full time hours. This year, we've gone through a few employees that said " worked to hard for too little pay" the night shift at my store icons it's of three people. Two on at a time. They expect us in one night to so what it takes eight people to do during the day and more.. Cleaning, maintaining machines, baking and serving all at once. If you can't do more then three things at a time it isn't the job for you. Hence why we've gone through people and they have quit or would never do a night shift again. Not to mention the only other surviving employee of 8 years, no one will work with her... So that bascially sums up why we can't get anyone to come on nights.. She'd been written up for being rude and pushy .. She's snatched the Malano machine octopus arms while I was trying to clean it and told me to go do something she didn't want to so like stock and garbages.. She's Been written up by Judy.. And I'm pretty sure after X amount of write ups it's automatic dismissal.. Hmm twice over treating the other night staff like ### .. I don't know, correct me if I'm wrong. Okay so because e can't find another night person.. ( we've borrowed another employee . Her store is being redone) she booked off everyweekend all summer.. so that leaves me with Wednesday Thursday off. Wtf! Anyways getting to my point... Almost a two year employee of Tim hortons. Booked 3 weeks in advance to take a week off.. I see this and my manger and she tells me she never knew that the schedule was blocked every weekend for two months.. She approved mon- Friday left the weekend blank and mon- wed not approved.. She calls and tells me she might not be able to find someone for the weekend.. I paused and was like if you can't find someone I'll come back.. Later that week still no schedule change So I wait a week and in that week a girl that had helped do nights for a few weeks prior told me herself that she was doing the weekend and when myself and that one other employee had to have a meeting in the office about how she's been treating me and her childish behaviour toward me.. And that's a whole nother story so still.. So then I brefily asked after our meeting about that weeks she said it was mine.. So stillNo schedule I wait a week no schedule I have my regular two days off come back Friday night see that I have to work that weekend.. It's not my problem you HAD. Someone to fill in.. Buck up and donut yourself and you afraid of what you might see .. I've had people compliment me I was taking orders at drive true making food and coffee and serving front counter all at once, . While my partner is in the back baking and I'm out front baking all at the same time. People asking me if I'm working alone.. Over 40+ cars threw drive thru and not counting Fremont counter.. More than enough income to bring a 5 am person on for extra help.. Same as on long weekends and even just in the summer more then enough income to supposrt a third worker for 1 extra hour. We have a struck routine timelines .. Of some only 10-20 minutes .. The freezer is a joke.. Unsafe and we end up cleaning and closing all the boxes when were done cambro stacked ontop of each other full of ice hard to get around. And anyways Gotta get in the freezer by 2 am to have my pull done for 140-2:00 I can't go clean the dinning room tables sweep mop bathrooms and serve customers all at the same time remember.. Getting inturupted every minute you turn around to do something .. Oh and that's right so if my dining room isn't Atleast getting mopped by 215 I'm in a safe zone.. The back will dry and I serve customers so that Atleast if I'm running behind I can still go back and start baking .. huge baking rediculous.. Like what does the baker .. Oh wait there saving a penny on bringing her in at 8 anyways 215-3The drunks come. A regular drunk that hits on me.. Pursists I like him and even last night in front of 8 cops that come a few times a week.. Still was an annoying looser .. Yeah they wouldn't like that one bit
Getting back on track.. So I've been bullied but. Employee and Employers of my store. Worked like a dog and get treated like one: I don't actually know my management. At all. I've met them when I was hired my reviews and that insident I had mentioned earlier with my coworker. And that's it.. My shift is nicknamed the "forgotten shift".. I write notes to communicate and whatever and I see nothing back. They ask us written on the white board to do these cleaning missions that makes me woonder what the cleaner really does around here, nothing. And now the first time I'm asking time off they change my shedule that starts in 2 days... Which then what there going to. Tell me it's to late. I honestly don't know how to do with this.. I used to like my job... Routine had good nights love my regulars. Good times at 4am after a few cups of coffee lol zzz but now it's like what do you think we are your rag dolls no.. We deserve time off just like any hoer person.. My co worker needs two days for a legit reason a doctored appointment made 6 months ago.. And it's still not approved.. 3 weeks from now. This is ###! I'm not getting pushed around by them anymore.. By anyone !

treatment of staff
I have worked at Tim Hortons for almost 7 years. Since I started one member of the management team has continued to be on my case. Within these last few years she has lied to the manager to get me in trouble; yelled at me and also blames me for things that are not my fault. I am not sure how to handle this situation. If I go to the manager and tell on her it will probably piss her off and make it worse for me at work. Or make her think its not bothering me and put up with it. The problem is her and the manager are friends outside of work. I was told by other staff members that for that reason the manager wont do anything about it anyways.
Hi.
I am studying human resources and from what I can say is you could go above them and talk to the franchise corporate manager or district manager and get together to stop the 'workplace harassment'. If you do not feel comfortable working there, and fear favouritism among the higher ranks, you can sue for 'workplace harassment/stress - undue stress'.
This is important, when or if you file for this (you can go speak to a lawyer and just get a free consultation they will decide if you have a case) but look for another job right away and keep records where you applied, because the law states you must be active looking for another job while on leave from your other employer. I am not a professional HR person, but what I've studied so far tells me to mention this to you as an alternative.
I know what it is like where you feel you cannot approach anyone on your dilemma, there is also, human rights commission you can go in and talk to an agent and see if they might be able to settle things. You have been there for too long and you feel safe with that work but you owe it to yourself to maybe find a less stressful position and try to find a similar job if your current situation renders you to stay at this type of work, but try to find a place where you 'fit' in and people treat you fairly and where there is better managers, those who are professional and do not try to take sides. Easier said than done but step out of there, change is scary but you will see that it will get better, it did for me! Take that step!
PS Just do not burn your bridges, you need them for a reference, they cannot give a bad reference out of spite they can get into trouble (it is against the law, they can refuse) for that. So, if you step away from this 'starter' job, just be as kind as you can, better yet, ask for a co-worker's reference. Seven years shows you are dedicated and to work there, my gosh!
I hope this helps...I just found this site and love to vent on how customer service is gone, it is what I call the ME GENERATION and the selfishness is on the rise exponentially.
contamination
When to the drive threw and it happen to me twice at the same restaurant. First time, I ask for and order of toast when I arrive at the office open the bag and where they slice the toast there was mayonnaise and inside a piece of chicken. Now today, I went again and in my bagel that I took plain there was a piece of yellow cheese in it. Sorry, but hygiene and contamination is suppose to be the first priority in restaurant. I want to eat what I order and not a piece of what others orders. Thank you.

Hi I was at the Tim Hortons drive through yesterday and the guy spilled French vanilla all over my lap. I had to take today off of work because of my burns. Is there anything that could be done to compensate for my day wages lost.
unless you complained right at that time and there is video that the employee spilled teh drink and not you, you might get some compensation. if not then you are out of luck
The Tim Hortons online roll up the Rim promotion hasn't worked correctly for the past 8 days. I brought it to their attention almost as soon as the promotion started and they've done nothing to fix it.
unjustified dismissal of employee
On dec 5th, 2013 my sister julie barnes was released from her part time kitchen employee job at tim horton, whitby ontario canada
Apparently there was a customer complaint about my sister which was then directed to my sisters
Employment case worker. They discussed the matter with the employer tm hortons, who apparently agreed and released my sister from her part time job.
My sister was doing her very best these past 2 months to do her best at this job, and i feel she was unjustly fired from her job.
All she wanted to do was make some extra money to provide her 2 children gifts at christmas !
She was very upset by being fired, she is on long term disability as it is, has several medical issues to deal with and getting a job at tim hortons really brightened up her life. ,
I do hope someone at tim hortons in human resources dept reads my letter and see the damage
And hurt that has been caused by firing my sister from her job, especially at christmas !
It is for that reason i will personally never deal with tim hortons again, and advise others who work
In the automotive business in oshawa ontario to do the same
Sincerely
Neil mckean

Tim hortons is a shameful operation, after doing that to your sister . Dirty Dogs. they have dropped there standards. they now hire 15-16 year old kids who just goof around.
That is Outrageous, to fire her for an for that seams Crazy. Not to mention she is has a long term Disability and is a mother of 2. That is really sad and disgusting that they give all these lazy teens theses jobs to help ith school, but decided to let go a disabled mother of 2. that's sicking and un forgivable. shame on the CEO of Tim hortons - seems they are going in the direction of Starbucks ( Money is more important then quality and the workers). I do hope your sister finds a better job and is treated with more respect then Timhortons showed her.
Never going to Tim Hortons again any way, after finding not 1 but 3 hairs in 2 different products. shame on you Tim hortons for dropping your nasty standards.
I hate Timmys
abuse / bullying
Since i first started there three and a half ago, ive had a manager bully me and put me down. Recently shes tried to get me fired two times. She treats me like im a misbehaved child / dog. She yells at me infront of my co - workers, customers. I hate going to wok because of her. Im afraid of her. Now i have health problems and she dosent care. I phone in sick maybe 5 times a year or less. Im a had worker i go above and beyond. Now shes accused me of lying to her about being sick i have asthma now its the time of the year for it to act up so at times i have to make a hospital trip. She says i have to deal with it and go to work even though i cant breath. Im sick of being treated like this do you think he owners would stick p for me. . No!. I hate my job trying to find a new one at this moment. Ie threaten to go to the labour board still nothing has been done about her. Something needs to be done and soon. Im a human being not a dog. Ie been a hard worker for the last 3 years almost 4 now. I should be treated with respect.
You need a witness if she is doing this in front of customers, they have the right to record what she is doing, as where you don't . no one says that a customer can't be your friend or your friends cant be customers...then I would present it as proof that she is creating a hostel work environment.
Whether you like it or not, calling out 5 days per year is considered excessive by many managers, and small business owners. Personally., I work for a huge corporation, where even 2 days per year is frowned upon. Sure, it's sad when you have medical issues that you need to deal with.
Make sure that every single time you call out, to have a detailed medical repot to back you up... Just in case they do try to fire you... You have the proof to dispute it with the unemployment office. Good luck.
Well, you always have one option... QUIT.
